1) This whole 25 stacks confusion 4x in row is getting pathetic, why has this not been hotfixed?

They probably want to punish button mashing. I play perplex runes on my engi now, though, mostly for luls. I agree it’s OP. 6 needs an ICD.

2) Unbalanced WvW populations.

They can’t do anything about that.

3) See #1 cause I really hate this… Only have so many Condition Cleanses and once you go through 3, nothing can do for almost 40 seconds.

4) Thieves still hit 8k+ on bunkers

They also have less than 10k hp. Just because they stealth doesn’t mean they’re not there.

5) Warriors have top HP Regen and Raw damage in game. Using a cannon at new Borderland buff sites, a warrior just /sit and out regens cannon fire. When enter in combat, he did 3-6k damage a swing and thats not 100 blades, wtf balance is this?

Regen or not they can’t do kitten about conditions. Also, CC them, cripple them, chill them, immobilize them, dodge them?

6) Crap rewards. Seriously tired of getting Spikes. I do not want to PvE, I do not want to do Dungeons, I refuse to do Fractals. “Play Your Own Way” = Play WvW and you will be broke, unless you transfer to a zergfest server and spam 1 all day.

If all you do is WvW, what do you need money for anyway? I, like you, don’t play PvE and only do WvW/PvP. I still have a fair amount of money. I play the TP.

Come on ANet, you guys are better than this, please at the very least try to fix something before you introduce Leagues and make this WvW zergfest more beneficial to higher population servers.

They were getting QQ left and right about WvW being stagnant. At least they added new content.

Why do stats / damage not scale the same for all players… A balanced game is very realistic if you make different classes with different abilities but each skill has same damage range. This is Balance, not give Class A 600% more damage than Class B, and Class B 500% More survivability with 400% More Damage than Class C. And you kept making it worse it seems for each class.

Specific classes are better for specific scenarios. The game isn’t balanced around 1v1’s. It would be boring if everything were the same. In a team fight, a thief can BS for 8k but an engi can CC & condi him down, an ele can heal the player back up & a guardian can keep him from taking any more damage.

For Instance, everyone takes Backstab thief to be Burst. So going off Skill #1
Thief POV, If Stealthed and attack from flank or back, 5k damage.
^
Warrior POV, Skill #1 say Sword, If Player affected by “insert new condition here: example Execute duration 2s” and attack from flank or back, 5k damage.

Gear should not affect armor value, all classes should of had same armor values/health values from start. Gear should be for looks only, why you guys chose to go a different way than this, I do not know.

That’s stupid. Should the guardian in full metal armor holding a shield have the same defensive stats as an elementalist in skimpy silk clothes? I mean, even from a lore standpoint, that’s stupid. Also, if ele/mesmer had same def as guard, they’d be OP as kitten.

Playing WvW normally (I almost always only solo roam, no zerging) pays for my repair costs & food, with a lot extra left over. If you can’t manage that, then I’m sorry, you’re not very good.

I think being in combat slows you down by around 25% (not an exact figure). Probably a little more, because as I recall, I run slower with power shoes in combat than someone unbuffed out of combat. Either way, power shoes helps combat the penalty, and the runes or swiftness will put you above the unbuffed, out of combat speed. True, they won’t get you quicker than 33%, but they do stack. They just cap out at 33%.

i think that’s why they hotfixed this, they realized engineer’s wouldn’t need to grind the crafting to obtain an ascended item damage to get the same damage equivalent.

you will probably find in 2-3 weeks when the crafting of ascended weapons becomes more common and everyone is running around with them then they will increase the damage again.

the problem is if they don’t hard code kits to scale with equipped weapons then this will continue to have every time there are item upgrades available.

I doubt they’ll increase them. If anything, they’ll have it scale up when you have one equipped. Also, to the dude QQing that ‘anet is making engis useless in PvE’ – calm the kitten down. Just because your kit does 5% less damage than someone else doesn’t mean engineers are useless. It just means you’re useless, if you depend on a 5% increase.

Warriors keep playing the “oh, but i am sooooo underpowered card!”. Even tough theyve been getting solid, and big, buffs for a bunch of patches straigth now.

People feel like an idiot complaining about the oh so “underpowered” Warrior. Truth is with all the love theyve been getting they are now one of the biggest outliers, especially in WvW.
Honestly, they are as bad as Thieves when it comes to roaming. Roaming in WvW is just Warriors, Warriors, moar Warriors. And if you look the other way you wont see anything, but the perma-stealth Thieves are all there.

As for these runes, I decided to log on after a week of not playing due to school & work to check them out. I can get 20 stacks on someone with not too much effort, and I almost always play p/p – using shield is something new to me. Easy mode runes, use ’em before the nerf hammer hits.

I think it would be fair to have the kit scale back up if you’re wielding a legendary. I don’t have one, and I will probably never have one, but those that do put a lot of time into theirs and they probably deserve that extra 5%.

Hey guys. Haven’t played much since school started, but I decided to pump out another video since it’s been a while since my last. The original one was over 22 min, so I’m not too upset about it being 16. One of the songs on it wasn’t actually the one I wanted, didn’t realize it until after it was uploaded, but oh well. Hope you guys like it, let me know what you think. Build is still basically the same as it was during the third video.

I’ve had requests for the build, so I’ll repost it here. Someone copy/pasted it earlier, a few posts down, but I’ve changed minor things & will edit them in here.

The Build

Traits
10/10/20/30/0

Explosives: V – Incendiary Powder
-A big chunk of my damage comes from this. It pairs up beautifully with blowtorch at the start of a fight, throwing on a nice 14 seconds of burn.
Firearms: VI – Hair Trigger
-Because this build lacks nades/bombs/FT, my main source if damage is the P/P combo. The 20% faster recharge is invaluable and allows me to re-apply conditions quicker than most classes.
Inventions: VI – Cloaking Device – VIII – Power Shoes
-I have to admit, I was never a fan of this tree line when I did PvP. The traits didn’t seem all that useful to me, but I forced myself to take it so I could have some extra toughness. The more I played WvW, though, the more I fell in love. The Cloaking Device is excellent for getting away from zergs, stopping spikes, and sneaking up on someone mid-fight. I chose Power Shoes because I found myself running away from zergs very often. I really like this trait, engineer’s don’t have many gap closers and this really does help you get around the field during fights.
Alchemy: II – Fast-Acting Elixirs – X – Cleaning Formula 409 – XI – HGH
The bread & butter of the build, your basic HGH alchemy lineup. Not much to explain here, when you run HGH, you don’t get a lot of wiggle room in this tree unless you want to greatly sacrifice your potential.

Gear

Armor
I run full carrion, except for the leggings, which are rampager. Having rampager legs gives you an extra 4% crit chance, which helps to get off your incendiary powder.
Edit: Dire armor would also work, now, even better, perhaps.
Runes
2x Major Rune of Water
2x Superior Rune of Water
2x Superior Rune of Fire
Edit: Superior Runes of the Traveler to replace the major water, or monks, if you like PvE.
Weapons
Pistol #1: Carrion with Superior Sigil of Battle
Pistol #2: Rabid with Superior Sigil of Corruption
Edit: I’m lazy, and almost never use corruption anymore. I prefer using sigil of fire.
Trinkets
Full rabid trinkets, rampager’s amulet.
Buffs
Koi Cakes or Rare Veggie Pizzas for 40% condition duration.
Quality tuning crystals (or the step above if you really want to waste money)
Utilities
Elixir H – Chosen for use with HGH. Protection is great.
Elixir B – Again, chosen for use with HGH, and is your main source of swiftness.
Elixir S – I personally save this almost exclusively to stomp, but it occasionally lets you get out of some sticky situations. Will completely mitigate someone’s spike if you time it correctly.
Toolkit – I love this utility. It gives you access to some great skills, which are:
2: Box of Nails – Comparable to thieve’s caltrops, but on a 10s recharge. Great for kiting.
3: Pry Bar – Not only does the initial hit do some big damage, but if you run this build, you will find a large chunk of your damage comes from confusion. If paired with the pistol’s Static Shot, you can throw on 7 stacks of confusion, which at times does over 1,500 damage per skill use.
4: Gear Shield – Excellent skill for WvW. 3 second block lets you run through zergs, mitigate spikes, and keep people at bay.
5: Magnet – My personal favorite, especially in WvW. It’s a great skill to open up fights with, but I use it all the time to catch fleeing foes. Can’t count the number of times I’ve killed people just feet away from their keep door thanks to this.
Supply Crate – An extremely powerful elite, it has the potential to completely turn fights around. Not only does it drop turrets to immobilize & burn your foes, it also comes with medpacks that you can pick up for a few extra thousand health. Best of all, the initial drop comes with a 2 second stun, which makes it excellent for spiking.

The warrior is immune to conditions for only 8 seconds for Jesus Christ sake using a skill that has a 60 seconds cooldown for the mother of Zeus sake, and you are considering this “issue” for the father and the mother of Quetzalcoatl sake.

If you guys are going to fix this “issue” then you might as well reduce condition spamming for Buddha’s sake.

I noticed it because I was dueling a few warriors. In a duel, at least, 8 seconds is a long time. -100% was just fine.

Does not count as an “explosion” with respect to traits.

I never considered it to be an explosion. While the name may hint otherwise, I think it’s kind of obvious the trait only refers to utility explosions, grenades/bombs etc.

The thing that is broken with explosive shot is the aoe bleed, atm it only gives off aoe damage with the initial target being bled.

Given my sig, I like to think it’s obvious I’m not an idiot. He wasn’t using -condition duration food & he was using full divinity runes.

Condition duration on you is greatly reduced.

It used to be 100%. However, now, it’s complete immunity. With 150% condi duration, a warrior is still completely immune.

8 seconds is a long kitten time. Either fix this, or change the engineer trait to once again be immune under 25%, instead of 100% less duration.

In fact, I have to, I forgot my 7,000 koi cakes in my guild vault, so it’s a promise. I’m sure you will be a much stronger server when I come back. Then they have the audacity to spam emotes as if we won’t do anything, so we break down the walls, tear down the guards and take it. Not only that will DR please stop with the emoting. One thing is when you emote the ones who run into stuff after a fight, or just plain run away, or etc. Now emoting when you are with more numbers or sitting in a camp or spawn or etc, now that is just bad. It’s a rule in Yarr we only gank and emote after being provoked by other’s emoting, * sorry if you get caught in the crossfire and get emoted*. Also we won’t at times kill uplvls unless they rush us first, its understandable you are either trying to lvl your toon, or are fresh to wvw, don’t want to crush your hopes and dreams too early, but those uplvls who chase us in groups, no matter what you will die. Also if you want duels just message any one of us , SIlent, Y not etc, we are always up for duels and stuff

Umm gonna have to be more specific I am kinda intrigued to be honest. Sometimes we spam emotes when someone does stuff to us, so usually lets say a DR something spams emotes on me, ill be kitten ed if he gets away or something, and usually the next person i see from that server gets it lol, im sorry if its a skewed mentality but seriously could have been that, if not you have to be more specific on class, and toon wise and rank, that way i can know who it is lol

I got some flak for criticizing Anvil Rock in an earlier post. I just participated in killing an AR zerg of 20+ with I think four people open field (albiet with some npc help). We weren’t in a group or anything, just a few other people who happened to be in the same area. I have literally never seen worse play in the entire time I have been playing this game.

The last time I saw something like this, I was a fairly fresh lvl 50 paladin still running in the zerg. The premier gank group of the time, CKD, bombed said zerg, killing more than 100 of the people around me. When they finally died, I was stunned. While I waited for mana regen to rez, I asked my group (who had all died asides from me), how the hell could so many people die to so few? No one said a word. That was a bit over 10 years ago.

That was what watching these people die felt like.

The most unbelievable part of this post……was that you found an AR zerg of 20+. Probably the WAR uplevel karma train.

It would be nice to have more balance in WvW with all the servers, the current trend is to continue to stack the top servers. I anecdotally see the WvW population is shrinking as people drop off of GW2. More and more people are migrating upward in the tiers to find a a strong WvW community.

It seems like that happened to AR in one fell swoop.

On a side note, I am super super interested in AR/ET/FC matchup. If that happens, I’m going to play on ET that week.

Yes, we are all excited for that matchup as well. But no no, play on AR instead, wouldn’t you rather fight your old teammates? ^^

Really? A signature ability Type is rendered pretty much obsolete. I would say, how is that Torment thing more gamebreaking?

-It applies just to Med Kit.
-Kit swapping has a short cooldown build into it.
-You need to just sit there and spam swapping medkit 13x to get 25stacks of torment. Thats easily 20+sec of just switching back and forth to medkit.
-All you got from this, is 25 stacks of Torment and little more. Where are your other conditions? Your direct damage? Your own defensive? Nothing, just 25 stacks of torment.

Hardly gamebreaking.

I don’t know if you know, but I think the mesmer puts on the most stacks of torment at once, and it’s 5 stacks. That’s it. Even having over 10 stacks constantly on someone is ridiculous, especially considering all the other conditions engineers throw on.

Well, since Anet made it rain with free badges of honor from achievement chests so that the PvE crowd wouldn’t break a nail trying to get their gifts of battle, I want free dungeon tokens without having to set foot in NPC land.

Agreed, it’s pretty much impossible to do dungeons with people from a WvW guild (as in getting them to wanna come, dungeons aren’t too hard :P). We need to get those tokens somehow….

I say whenever you kill someone in WvW wearing dungeon armor, they have a chance to drop a small amount of the tokens required to purchase said armor set. So if someone is wearing CoF armor, you kill them, chance to drop a few CoF tokens.

Would be neat, might get farmed/exploited though, so any player wearing any dungeon armor —> chance to get any dungeon token would probably be better.

Even back in the day, when Anvil Rock was almost always matched with Ebay & BP, we would be drastically outnumbered. The other servers we would face would have a huge number advantage over us. Why did we stay in these mid tiers for so long, even while heavily outnumbered, you ask? It’s simple. Anvil Rock doesn’t win with numbers – we win with skill. The skill is still here, but due to a recent population crisis, it simply wasn’t enough anymore.

Anvil Rock lost a big chunk of its WvW population a few weeks ago. With many transferring out, we dropped to the lower tiers, where we now reside. The fall is over, and rebuilding has already begun. We invite you to come join the others and see how much of an impact a few players, or even one player, can make. Just having more bodies on the field gives us strength. Many of our players are knowledgeable & know what needs to be done – they just need your help to back them up.

As some may know, Anvil Rock is the sPvP server. We house the best players in NA when it comes to PvP. Not all of them play WvW, but quite a few do, making Anvil Rock home to some of the best single-players running around in WvW. Do not believe that because we are in the lower tiers, that we don’t have good players – many are extremely skilled.

What Anvil Rock can offer you:
-Server-wide community forums
-Server-wide TS, open to all AR players
-Capacity for roaming
-Capacity for solo roaming
-Many guilds with different focuses (zerging, havoc squads, retaking flipped towers via hiding inside, small man tower assault groups, karma trains, etc)
-Many opportunities to make a name for yourself as we rebuild & climb back up
-Experienced players to learn from

Do you go out of your way to punish bad players in WvW?

When you see these things do you tend to focus the player to make them learn?:

1. Full Signet Thief/Warrior

2. Lich Form On Necro

3. Uplevled Ranger/Engi

4. Stumbling across a roamer doing PvE

5. Scepter Wielding Guardian

6. Level 30 or below food (I.E. Increase burning duration 5% food) Oils 3/1% Boost.

I tend to focus a few of these types of players, but normally running with commander and sticking close to group so I cant even though I want to kill all of the above.

You don’t see me attacking you with a grammar book because of your thread title.

I would encourage you to become slightly more of a man and take that bold step away from your zerg & fight for yourself. While solo roaming, I’m not biased, I kill everyone I run into. Or try to. If I’m fighting multiple people, I do usually focus the weaker players first, just because they’re easy to get out of the way & continue on with the real players. Not because I want to ‘punish’ them.
