Just finished up a little roaming event we had going. Two teams of five, most kill wins. We ended up getting 55 total in the little while we were doing it, thanks for the badges HD friends at EB.

Sorry, the title just typed itself.

Question, once I have to go grenades for various non-PVE content, what’s the best way to ensure proper grenade throwage? Do you bind right and left mouse keys to enhance throwing and use that options toggle to just throw the nade where your cursor is? Using your keyboard hand would seem to hinder your good ability to move so I would figure you would use the mouse to throw the nade.

My fingers are already rebelling at the potential clicking that I’m going to have to do to make grenades work. :/

The greatest piece of advice that anyone can give you in this instance is to remove the aoe sighting and enable “Fast-Cast Ground Targeting”. You will throw grenades wherever your mouse is. Additionally, I would suggest keybinding your primary kit (nades in this case) to the standard weapon swap button “~”, as this will allow you to swap between kit and weapon more effectively.

Personally I think this is terrible advice. I think grenades are much easier to utilize with the ground targeting on.

My mouse of choice at the moment is a Logitech G700. The three buttons on the top left are—from the bottom up—the “1” attack, dodge and autorun. The four buttons on the side are “2,” “3,” “4” and “5.”

I also bind Q to “6,” and E, R and T to “7,” “8” and “9.”

I only PvE though.

I use a G700 as well & I love it. The naga’s full on keypad is way too much for me, so the G700 is perfect. I don’t actually use the buttons up top, though.

8 (my stun breaker) is on my wheel click

Everything else is basic, 1-5 and F keys.

I’m pretty good at grenading well, and honestly it just comes down to practice & a lot of pvp with it. If you’re bad, you lose & die.

Id just like to say I think HOD/AR are seeing a very kitten ed off DH that got double teamed by to cowardly servers last week just think we could be up with SBI/BP had we not. On another note I really wish AR the best of luck in your rebuilding process you truly were a whole different beast last time we squared off its a little unsatisfactory beating you guys now knowing its not really a rematch of what your server was. The pride of your server will come back and with that the manvile rock will return.

Yeah, [TFH] kicking kitten GvG — but I believe it was against SBI. I feel like GvGs or duels are the only action we’re really going to get against these servers. I definitely miss fighting Ehmry also, but it’s not like we’ll be seeing them again anytime soon.

Very tired of everyone I see either waypointing from an even or advantageous fight in their favor, or ALT-F4ing once I have started fighting them.

Yup, gotta say, am pretty disappointed by HoD lately. Seems everyone is terrified to step more than a few feet away from their zerg & have had multiple waypoint away when I ran up to them alone.

I wanted to start getting into a bit of PvP using a build where I had a good understanding of the mechanics. A P/P+TK+HGH boon duration build was my choice. After getting past the obvious traits (Fast-acting elixirs, 409, HGH, Hair trigger), I chose the rest of the traits based on a mix of defense, offense, and utility. Turns out I chose the exact traits you did.

Power shoes is the trait that I consider most questionable, but after seeing that I’m able to run circles around other professions while on capture points, often getting behind them when they do their big forward attacks, I’d say they’re pretty handy. It’s only hotjoin, but last night I was on the winning team in 14 of 15 games, and I was top 3 in 13 of those. Felt pretty good considering I generally lose all 1v1s in WvW.

Yup, a lot of people aren’t too sure about the power shoes, but I really like them, they fit my playstyle quite well. Sad to say, but the vast majority of people in WvW run away from me. Since I don’t have any gap closers, power shoes helps shorter the distance. A lot of times, I can actually run in FRONT of them & drop down box of nails.

Surprised we’re not the ones at +0 tbh. It’s extremely rare for AR to have any sort of night game. Night capping us is always easy points & you shouldn’t take it as too much of an accomplishment.

Here’s one I took shortly after reset. HoD had taken bay, and I was inside killing stragglers. Saw something weird out of the corner of my eye, so I decided to stop & look. He was trying this for a while, until I ran around & pulled him off the ledge. Then he preceded to run away using his movement glitches for a few minutes. The name of this ranger is Srashin, I think he deleted it once I PM’d him about it. Again, I believe his account name is Don.29XX, or something along those lines.

That’s good to hear, I sent in a report via support, I suggest you do the same. Was disappointed to see someone doing that right off the bat with an all-new matchup, kind of gave me a bad impression on their server.

Roam around, find fights, and ride it out until AR hits bottom of tier 7, where it can frequently fight the other servers of that weight class.

Why should they take time off? If it is because they were out numbered, then BP should have taken off time against EBay weeks ago.

Also, I do not think AR is a T7 server. They are likely a solid T6 server and probably still boast a population large enough to ride into T5 on occasion. They have some of the most skilled sPvP players of any server. I think as soon as they are out of the zerg tiers (T5+ in my experience), their sPvP players will WvW more.

I think once we’re out of the zerg tiers, it’ll be easier for me to entice my pvp friends to try wvw. You have to realize, though, that a lot of them are literally lvl 1 in pve, so it’ll take time if they are interested, but it’ll happen if I can promise ample roaming capabilities. This is what I hope the lower tiers will be like.

They were still one of the better BP guilds imo. There were like 5 wvw guilds between AR and BP who can actually fight, down to 4 now. Oh, also, try to contain your excitement about soloing stuff as a thief in wvw a little bit.

Engineers have a pretty good access to boons, so it doesn’t seem like a very good rune choice compared to others. I used lyssa on my warrior when I did PvP, just because war has no access to boons & bad condi removal.

I haven’t really played the game much at all for a while, but I haven been following the patch notes periodically and it looks like Elixir X and the Mortar are pretty much he same as they always were with the same flaws that can’t really be fixed by changing numbers.

Is there any engineer that doesn’t use the Supply Drop?

sometimes in tpvp engineers use Elixir X because it gives them the option to knock people of a point.
Also because it’s an elixir after all, and it works for their HGH build anyhow.

I don’t think it’s common practice, and I have no clue if it happens at the serious levels.
But I’ve seen it here or there, and once or twice someone mentioned doing this on the forums.

Aside these rare cases… no, almost every engineer uses supply drop I’m sure.

X is actually really good for far point assault. Whichever form you get, there’s a lot of CC.

Isle of Janthir is blue in your match up which means they were most likely assaulting the camp when you came along, which would indicate that they were not at full HP and had used some cool downs. Pit this against two people who know their profession thoroughly, and who have played with each other for countless hours, and the result is to be expected.

Actually, we were taking the camp when they showed up, we were low on health at start & were on CD. Also, Rinz & I never play together, we just happened to come across one another in this camp. We both usually only solo, I think. Regardless of whatever else you’d like to add, 2v6 is still funny.

2v6 against uplevels is never funny or skillful.

People act like uplevels are defenseless children. When I started WvW I was lvl 20 on my engineer and I was still killing 80’s. Also, I highly doubt they were all upleveled.

Weeks of fighting AR have left me with the impression that AR does what AR wants to do. They aren’t really score driven and if they were having fun somewhere, they stay there. If they are not, they move somewhere else. They can show up in the strangest places… and I think they like it that way.

I think weeks of being hammered by superior numbers (EBay, BP and even SBI) has left them with a surprisingly good attitude about their matchups at least from the outside looking in.

Good observation, the vast majority of our server doesn’t care to win. A big % (mostly roamers like myself) don’t care about points at all, we’re just here to kill people.
