i think anet made a choice to have a progressing story rather than attempt to create content faster than people got bored of it
which is of course impossible, the alchemist’s stone of MMOs.
if you think the invasions are a zergfest LEAVE THE ZERG. i’ve solo-d and small-teamed more invasion events so far than i’ve zerged, and a few of the zergs were small enough that the aetherblades presented a serious challenge (wiped once)
(you ninny)
(edited by Shoe.5821)
The portal at the champion snow troll was hilarious, a complete melee. But it would spawn minions on the cliffs and we had the kitten dest time killing them to progress the spawns.
I only saw one that didnt spawn minions at all, in the northwest.. I forget the name
yeah i just fell over, a portal appeared and i didnt go anyway
kitten ed unreliable unholy combination of magic and steam technology
We fought hard, our numerous commanders split into many groups and with only two minutes left we finished off the last of Scarlet’s Aetherblades and her second wave of twisted monstrosities.
WAVE THREE BEGINS

agree with OP
not sure what is with all the hate
do people prefer being ignored martyrs rather than having a point of contact? lol

Closing Ceremony
Witness the high point of the Queen’s Jubilee! Attend the ceremony and hear the Queen’s Speech in the Crown Pavilion of Divinity’s Reach. It’s sure to end with a bang.
Clockwork Minions Invade
Scarlet’s clockwork minions are invading entire zones across Tyria.
Watch the World Event UI for new invasions.
Yesssssssss.
confusion
stuns
it all looks the same from guardian country
i’ve seen three people use perplexity runes and it hasnt struck me as op so far
:?
The quartz price spikes have me nervous enough that I bought up a few hundred for my own use. There’s really not much on the market at the current price (~1.1s) so i figure the price is going to fluctuate again.
I’m fairly certain that Anet will never introduce something that rewards the player for getting their pet killed
Try almost every explorable dungeon.
most dungeon boss attacks can be avoided or tanked by pets
you cant see deadeye when you warp into thea rena because your camera was pointing down because you were looking down from the catwalk. point your camera level before you warp in and he’ll be in your FOV.
Hey, just chiming in on something. I’ve been considering this again since I’ve been running the Bear transform on my Norn guardian. The bear has massive interrupts between its Charge and Knockback attacks.
Wolf transform – which I also use sometimes – also has interrupts on its #5 leap attack and #4 howl.
retaliation should be melee only anyway
I agree that the whining is over the top. Just look at the thread titles right now.
I do think it is a legitimate point that the pet functions awkwardly in One-Hit content like gauntlet, world bosses, etc. Which is a design flaw and should be recognized as such. IMO this is probably why we can have 2 pets in the first place.
I am pretty sure though that ANet will never ever want to implement mechanics that heavily reward players for LOSING their pet, which would lead to blatantly dumb shenanigans
I find it works fine, the biggest problem with piercing arrows is the # of good traits in Marksmanship :|
You dont need to target the furthest away character, it does help, but really its more about positioning than anything…
Longbow #5: Barrage replaced with Aimed shot. 1.5-1.75 channel time that does high damage.
== warrior rifle
allocating resources like that rarely works well owing to bottlenecks and other malarky
smaller dedicated teams works better
I mostly WvW on my ranger, i eventually gravitated to full berserkers with a couple celestial pieces. It’s cookie cutter, but it’s cookie cutter for a reason: it gives you punch in the role of long range archer.
They could somehow combine them. Meaning, your “bronze”, “gold” (I’d still prefer if they used a less lazy denomination than precious metals), etc. ranking is inherited account wide, but your “Assaulter”, “Knight” is earned by the character. This way you’d never start completely over on the same level as a WvW newbie, but you’d still have a title progression mechanic for your character.
I love this idea.
but it would have to fit in the 10,000 wxp level paradigm, since the idea there is that theres always something to achieve for even the most extreme wvw players.
P.S.
Let us buy WXP with karma :O
How do you monetize WvW in WvW specific ways?
I mean most gem store things already apply to wvw:
apperance, services, gold buying, finishers, boosts…
uh…
kites.
I mean why would Anet add something WvW specific to the gemstore when pretty much anything cool they could add would also work fine in PvE or PvP?
honestly supply is a pretty straightforward limit on golems in EB. if you’ve built up 1500 supply to build 10 golems with then more power to you.
burn everything.
its only the supply hauled from other battlegrounds that lets golems really get out of control.
oh and portals of course, portals essentially nullify golem mobility issues and make it much more difficult to scout and intercept golems.
personally was thinking something along the lines of implementing the dragons corruption, like green borderland suffering the effects of zhaitans corruption, blue Jormag’s and reds Kralkatorrik’s. What this would essentially mean is the landscape would be subtly changed in areas.
I was thinking along those lines too. It would add some flavor at the least!
it would also give us a little more reason for ‘why are we fighting this mist war?’
We see the other servers as Dragon minions
The extension of this – which I think would be amazingly awesome – would be that what you see in WvW depends on what side you are on. Enemy NPCs are Dragon minions depending on their color while you see your own side normally. Sort of like America’s Army back in the day. It would also serve to visually distinguish siege weapons…
it would probably increase memory footprint on top of new tech tho :<
It would help if you could post your traits. Most likely your base damage is just kinda low, and your crit % and crit damage boost arnt that high either.
Assuming you are using a longbow, the best investment you can make right now is an exotic level 80 longbow. Ideally a Berserkers, or at least one with power and precision.
Another good way to stretch your budget is to get rare Berserker Nobles armor, using Ruby Orbs instead of runes. Neither should break the bank too much and will provide a big improvement over greens or blues. if you still have some.
TBH. Maul just needs more damage. It’s adequate right now, but doesn’t really provide any zazz even in full zerker.
Though that might just be a symptom of ranger scaling.
100 armor always makes you the same amount tougher compared to a fixed baseline.
In the below example, we can see that 100 armor always increases the hits to kill by 5.
200000 damage / 2000 armor: 100 damage (100 hits to kill 10000 hp) (10k ehp)
200000 damage / 2100 armor: 95.24 damage (105 hits to kill 10000 hp) (10.5k ehp)
200000 damage / 3000 armor: 66.66 damage (150 hits to kill 10000 hp) (15k ehp)
200000 damage / 3100 armor: 64.52 damage (155 hits to kill 10000 hp) (15.5k ehp)
????
i never render combats below when im in the domes
perhaps your distance/lod settings are turned way up?
People boast, a handful of people boasting on the forums doesnt reflect what people do as a whole. Someone from Anet posted that the median player has earned 3 gold or less during the event so far.
In that time I got 2 Crystal Guardian skins (34g each), ~10 lodestones, ~14g coins, exotics and rares that sold for ~10g, and a lot of other mats and around 143 karma drips. That’s more than 100g in less than 5 hours.
You don’t understand inflation
Items and materials take money out of the economy, not add to it
you already paid almost as much in market fees as you received in coins
@ SF – Numbers don’t equal wins. You guys have an insane population in times that IoJ doesnt. The issue is, 12 IoJ WvW players can drop 30 of you. Work on that and people might be afraid of you.
it’s not IoJ that has had [Outmanned] every night, US-time. Just saying.
big salute to the IoJ at Mendon’s a few hours ago. that was a crazy fight.
context—-
about kitten were in the process of capping Mendons when about 10-15 IoJ poured on through the busted open gate. I had just enough time to say ‘uh..inc’ and lay down a ward but a warrior made it through. He was about 5 feet from the cap circle when it capped. Most of the IoJ rushed in to kill the SF still on the point but in their haste forgot about RI. So most of both IoJ and SF in the tower died.
this left us with a weird bridge stalemate between the handful of IoJ still in Mendons, IoJ outside pounding on the door, and whatever SF could make it inside.
eventually the IoJ went down but it was fun while it lasted
You can tell healways primarily by the heavy use of shouts and dodgerolls. And of course the immunity to conditions… Usually they are weapon swapping a lot though.
If you generally want to be tanky, I would suggest focusing on Knight’s armor – Power, Precision, Toughness. This will give you a good baseline of power to work off of. You can then select weapons, runes, and accessories more specific to a build.
I’m pretty sure it usually pops up Interrupt whenever anyone so much as runs into a ward Don’t know if it counts for Perplexity.
I have 6 runes of Perplexity that I got on the cheap (yay buy orders), but honestly after weighing options they seem better suited to warrior or engineer.
I was considering this mightily, but in the end couldn’t justify it on the basis of no other confusions whatsoever and confusions crappy damage in wvw.
Asura get confusion on racials (Pain Inverter) which seemed like a possibility.
^^ i like that one a lot actually
the only problem is people leeching in spawns
the obvious fix is some sort of WvW reward multiplier that scales based on any active action (damage enemy walls, engaging enemies, using supply, participating in events, etc.)
I’m pretty impressed by the look of those one hander builds. I’m looking at gear on black lion right now to try it out. I’m wondering though, since they’re burst builds, has anyone that tried those builds gone with +20% damage under aegis?
what it will do is cause endless kittening and fractured communities over ‘leechers’.
‘warfare economics’ is not affected since the # of people that cap a keep does not affect supply in any way.
proportional rewards for longer battles/sieges might help, something to reward hardfought battles rather than steamrolls.
(edited by Shoe.5821)
Works fantastically and I had literally never even tried it less than an hour ago so definitely doable with 4 gambits.
basically, if you have enough damage to normally kill him before he teleports most of the time, you’re set with 4 gambits.
the zerg rally wouldnt happen if you stayed to kill people rather than rushing on to down everyone
:X
so i mean it seems as intended?
the whole idea of downed state is that if you move on its a problem….
(edited by Shoe.5821)
the queen’s speech will see some limited edition weapon on the gem store supposedly
Switching weapons is what causes your arena to bug in my experience. Dont switch weapons before you get into the arena.
I find I had to dump Frailty to do this arena reliably since the patch.
Siege weapons dont show up in the combat log.
re: earlier post, 12k in damage is suspiciously close to a Superior Ballista #3 with +25% mastery.
Siege is far more likely than hax, though i wont deny the possibility.
Sometimes server lag also causes a rapid spike of attacks/damage.
I mean i dont see any reason they wouldn’t just all play on the chinese servers.
Charr sound hilarious in chinese though.
(edited by Shoe.5821)
if you cant tell the difference between personal attacks and gripes/complaints its pretty much problem 1 right there
if you are so fed up with problems in wvw and don’t feel you are being listened to the appropriate and mature thing to do is to leave. not throw tantrums or rage at some guy.
(edited by Shoe.5821)
there is a genuine difference that’s why they are different words/phrases.
for example: post one of this thread, attacking his qualifications without basis or knowledge.
it specifically says it works on npcs
I will gripe about the silly crap anet does until they fix it or another game comes out
noone cares if you gripe
this thread is about personal attacks
I disagree with you. Frustration is a legit excuse. I don’t care what you would do. Bow down and show respect for your authority figure. I will stand here and continue protesting.
Respect is earned through action.
lol
Yes, Devon Carver as an ‘authority figure’. You brave martyr.
Devon’s entitled to some basic respect as a human being trying to do his job.. ‘I feel I’m not being catered to in my practically-free hobby’ is not and never will be a reason for personal attacks.
