i find ‘nothing can save you!’ to be essential for a power reaper. it won’t help with evade spammers, but it will screw block defense rotations, especially when used with the elite shout and considering the deleterious effect of chill spam.

Is there any class where the scepter isnt visually awful? I can’t stand the thing.
Personally, the reason I find Necro weak is because it is trash tier in the part of the game I play the most of. Small scale WvW. Why? Necro is brought down by too many high sustain builds that can’t be killed by Necro’s meh damage anymore, inability to avoid being run over, lack of good stability.
The last two can be overcome, but going into WvW and immediately getting killed by an immortal Druid that wins by pressing 1 and kiting away whenever you get close or a Warrior with 30k hp, 2600 armor, and the ability to hit for 10k like it’s nothing while regenerating more hp than weak bleeds can dish out is more than disheartening. It’s simply unplayable.
I find necros pretty useful if you are encountering a lot of tough builds while roaming; there’s lots of ways to corrupt boons with minor alterations to all my builds and that goes a long way.

I would wager their support system is going through a procedural review and their staff going through meetings and maybe retrainings; things might be hectic atm.
is lemc actually bugged? i thought it was supposed to relock every day
well, if it was regular shrooms that was probably their self destruct. its not like soldiers do anything else noticable.
I also absoliutely don’t know, what happened about the talked about Mastery that should make us able to deal more damage against mordrem, because mordrem would be lesser of a deal, when you can kill them quicker.
well, we know of at least one mastery that they touted before release that isn’t in the game: the mastery that lets you strip damage immunity bark from certain Mordrem. I’m guessing that one will be coming with Raids.
I thought they respawned?
to be fair, all the level 80 maps are farm maps…intentionally so, to some extent.
Soul Eater should make combo heals heal, imo.
it leads to things the more casual gamers don’t want in the first place, like item-stores.
just had to to pull this out because how INCREDIBLY WRONG it is :P
item shops pervade self-titled ‘casual’ games, phone apps, etc. to a far greater extent than they do MMO.
How exactly is my statement incredibly wrong with respect to mmos?
if casual gamers didn’t want item shops, they wouldn’t be in casual games. Enthusiast and hardcore gamers care a lot more about item shops (and pay to win) than casuals do.

All Asuran tech runs on magic. It’s not clear, but Charr tech seems to be mostly magical as well. Magic is ingrained in every single thing everyone does, as is made clear by the fakeass bullkitten nature of Asuran science
i think its just because of blast finishers
blast meta is still a thing and probably will always be a thing and Necros neither bring Fire fields (the one true combo field) nor a lot of blasting potential.
or banners…. fukkin banners…!
Luckily with the sharpening stones, theyre all named the same, so you can copy/paste, but yea, a lot of these things we have to type the whole name for.. like the Halloween finishers….
why didnt you just Use them, lol
It’s situational. Minstrels is extremely bunker, which is handy, but there’s not a lot of value to staying alive for its own sake in wvw. Minstrels build would be for mixing it up at the frontlines while spamming heals and ccc.
Magi and Cleric are also pretty defensive, but less so, and more justifiable in a backline build. I’d love to recommend Zealots, but, uh, that price point….
i’ve had tons of fights where i put down some gravedigger and would still have been grateful for some healing.
ref: the entirety of Dragons Stand.
it’s never going to be very great for pvp or big bosses though. The Siphon anyway.
Guess I was misinterpreting the healing all along. I admit to being surprised by this. I love the utility of it anyway in terms of summoning teammates.
Just wish I could come up with a way to fit Blood Magic into Reaper. Everything I’ve tried has failed horribly. I’ll give this a try in pvp.

The most annoying part with #2 is that invalid locations show as valid. I’d say 80% of the time it doesnt work for me it’s because i’m trying to jump further than the skill will allow.
The UI function which prevents skills from going outside their valid range also does not seem to work at all!
I think that ‘jump’ skills are completely hacked in and work poorly, because they are going around their old system which now views going across gaps or up cliffs as verboten.
Other than that i actually quite enjoy this challenge, its not too long and its fun being a fungus
S’what Chill is for man
I’m pretty sure Transfusion does self heal. At least, it does in Death Shroud. I haven’t tried it in Reaper’s Shroud.
how the hell is 10 stack of vuln lackluster?
this is mostly a pvp/wvw skill, it is not like you can keep 25 stack of vuln up on other players.
my main trouble with Spite is that i feel i can’t afford it sometimes and still have sufficient survivability, especially in pvp. It also has limited team synergy in that you dont really need to stack 25 might yourself…
it’s critical for my build though because I am running a Cavalier Reaper and I need as much Vulnerability as I can pump out to keep my crit chance up. Proccing vuln on chill is arguably the primary reason I take it, though the Might (and Might-> Blighter’s Boon) is very nice.
I do think people are underrating Soul Eater though. Doesn’t it proc on everything you hit? When you can spam 2 to mulch through hordes, that adds up to quite a bit of health per second.

To be honest, I was kind of hoping that someone could convince me to play Druid. I really do want to love it, and I think it has potential, but it’s not doing a whole lot for me right now. I don’t play Ranger in PvP, but I might give bunker Druid a shot. I’m still hopeful that raids might have a slot for Druid, too.
I run a lb/gs druid with Assassins gear (+ a couple celestial/clerics) , I find it works pretty well for all purpose PVE . I use glyphs with Verdant Etchings to build the majority of my AF, and focus on having almost as good damage as a classic power ranger while adding huge amounts of CC through glyphs and Celestial Avatar. CC is extremely important in Magus Falls, and still pretty useful in WvW.
well, theres a way achievements distinguish what you’ve done already: Titles
I.E. No amount of AP will get someone Honors in Applied Jumping,
interesting point about Remorseless+revenant. I too keep trying to make Remorseless builds but losing piercing just hurts too much.
that poor Reaper at the start of the video, you just have too much mobility and CC…
i also find verdant glyphs invaluable, but for some reason i hadnt thought about using them for executes… smacks forehead
PS what’s with the Charr ignoring you at 11:00
kitten move for his teammates

pistol/pistol Thief is the gunniest profession. It just has AOE problems as said.
There’s lots of successful Rifle warriors out there.
You don’t sell tons of runes. You sell the occasional item you get with a really good rune or sigil, or salvage them and sell the result. 12g for said Rune of Strength is a nice windfall. Use that money to actually complete a build, or work on an alt, or finally get those ascended weapons…
The average casual will never, ever get a legendary. Ever. They are just too expensive.

they arnt going to add mounts to central tyria or magus falls.
they might add a new zone (crystal desert?) with mounts as a regional mechanic, like gliders in magus falls.
though i’d rather having something like Dune worms that travel along with a bunch of people fighting from their back than individually controlled magic horses
I wouldn’t be so frustrated if the controls would be consistent. My glider doesn’t open or close consistently, leading to botched jumps.
Hot tip: Hold space when you jump off a ledge and your glider will open automatically
That’s your response.
“u jelly?”
Ok.
The vast majority of drops accrue to regular players, who put up high demand items (like Runes of Strength) on the marketplace to earn Big Monies. Meanwhile, highly wealthy players (like those who own Legendary items) purchase those items to complete their desired build.
you’re just kinda throwing together numbers randomly, with no attempt to account for cooldowns, utility value, or how much dps a weapon can actually put out. It’s worse than useless.
i’ve had several ranged duels with Dragonhunters in pvp and the DH’s only advantage has been the shot blocker projectile. other than that i’ve crushed them. Invariably they give up and JI in to trap bomb.
all my druid experience in wvw has been roaming, but i will say: why not take Instinctive Reaction instead of Bountiful Hunter? it’s a steady 6% boost to your base Power, or a 4% boost with 25 stacks of might. that’s equiv. to 6-4 boons, constantly. It basically trades a little damage on your Pet for more reliable damage and the Quickness trait.
“Hey, guys. We implemented Precursor crafting, so that Precursor weapons are now just slightly more accessible. Don’t worry, you’ll still have to spend ludicrous amounts of money in order to get them. Some players will even resort to buying Gems and exchange those for gold, because they simply don’t have enough time to put into the game as much as others do, which turns these “journeys” into virtual grind/endless farm fests, so it’s all very profitable for us as well. And that’s only Part I of the collections! The other two Parts are even harder!"
The precursor journeys actually made precursors more accessible for everyone. If you don’t have HoT, you can still sell Ascended materials for big profitsssssssss to help afford your own Precursor.
well IME there’s actually usually people on the map. Megaserver system means there’s no such thing as a deserted map.
there’s just not anyone who even tries the meta, similar to Triple Trouble.
There would be no variety. If they only made high Toughness for some fractals, people would just do non-condition fractals and ignore the Toughness fractals.
I’m really unhappy with the farmy nonsense enabled by the new fractal system, even if i appreciate the smaller time commitment
-1
It’s a welcome wealth transfer from the wealthiest players to normal players
I’ve never even seen more than 4 people in a lane for the meta, noone ever even tries. it’s disappointing to me.
We have 15 minutes (that we don’t need really) to set up for the Octovine but only 5 for TD which is way harder. A ten minute delay would be ace, as well as more guidance to the lanes.
There should also be more than…3? minutes before the event fails. Have people defend the lane against swarms of Chak BEFORE starting the Gerent event.
@ohoni
the important thing here is that the market price of something is only what the market will bear
by definition, people are okay with paying the high expense for brown pigment. they were okay with paying the high expense for flax.
it’s one of those market is a democracy things.
that’s the trouble with linking tasks to goals. on the other hand, it makes completing the goal that much more of an accomplishment.
if you are having trouble with Sanctum Scramble, i’m sure someone has or will soon post a route video.
Plus – open world events all play out exactly the same way – tag stuff while a dozen other players tag stuff around you. It gets old fast.
:|
do you even have heart of thorns?
if you were talking about Orr, sure….
edit: not trying to be a kitten, but the events are really varied in HoT and tend towards being pretty objective based over ‘kill a lot of stuff’ ala Orr. A lot of the time tagging is literally pointless! Compare Dragon’s Stand to… ALL the Orr Temples, really.

yes, the zone is a thousand times easier once you get all the base camp WPs and figure out the basic directions from the base camp.
Pharazon translator: “Mushrooms are kittens. Activate the Super Mario Signal :O”
the vets and elites are pretty strong, but honestly they arnt much worse of a tactical problem than the jungle tendrils; you already have to do fancy footwork and be careful with melee stacking as is.
the stealth can be irritating, but they usually do not move after stealth; ironically the snipe shot damage line gives you a perfect indicator of where they are standing.
also i went and watched it again and it wasnt slow or telegraphed it was a really fast tailstab after a bunch ofposturing
you might as well say
1 play the game
2 play the game
3 play the game
for all the relation one open world event can have with another open world event
it covers everything from escorting that one soldier to Tequatl
What got me was the literal “press f to honor” prompt after.
given that this didnt actually seem to do anything, i’m convinced it was a deliberate joke
“Oh, right. This is the part where I die. Okay, I’ll just stand here.”
that actually does make a lot of sense from the norn pov. they are very tied to their narratives, and if you’ve decided ’i’m going to die anyway’ then you face death like a true norn rather than scrambling around in panic like a coward.
if out of 4 zones you can’t find ANYTHING you enjoy doing, what makes you think you are going to enjoy raids
guys, this is the market in action.
anet doesn’t directly set the price of doing precursor collections, just the mats required. the price of the ascended mats spiked after HoT release
If the precursor is way cheaper than doing the collection, the proper thing to do is to sell mats and buy the precursor with the profits. Right now you can make something like 6-7 gold per day just by making and selling the 3 ascended materials. That’s driven by the demand for precursor crafting by people with fat wallets.
crystalline ore is required for numerous rewards, like every single specialization weapon
there’s also getting the new Converter
I believe Leystone armor is also DS?
