what the hell is rorting?
i guarantee 90% of everyone doesnt have poison vine mastery yet so feel free leading people into the vine HPs in verdant brink… ;p
please god no
like there’s not enough Godkitten angels flying around right now
MoB and SoG cost more right now than they will in the future, because there’s new and there’s high demand for them. Dun worry about them.
The ascended mats are somewhat ridiculous though… do you even get an ascended item for the first tier?
is it a collection item, maybe?
The “death magic soldier reaper” is nowhere near scrapper level. Just compare Corrupter’s Fervor to Adaptive Armor, have a maddening laugh, then try to imagine that it’s just the tip of the iceberg.
while on first glance adaptive armor looks better, the difference is that adaptive armor requires a minimum of 5 seconds of continuous hits to max out.
corruptor’s ferver OTOH can hit maximum stacks just from fight-entry skills before you ever take a hit
the 300-500 toughness difference is annoying, though shrug
it’s pretty funny how many different class forums think their class is uniquely dumped on by anet
they used to sell armor skin pieces (and they are still on the market) but apparently it is a bust compared to outfits
i believe that they are not seperated out into pieces so that they don’t have to do the usual long and difficult clipping/quality test process on every combination of pieces
you have plenty of options, you just dont get your Perfect Build right away
it’s pretty obviously deliberate that IE grandmaster traits dont unlock until later on
it probably has to do with a hidden buff used for tracking some effect or another
this system gets you to experiment with your build as you unlock it rather than just picking out something or reading a guide
My point was that they can stop gold sales anytime they want if its problematic and I think it is on so many levels.
the gem exchange is also a gold sink. one of the relatively few things you can do with huge heaps of gold is to buy gems. in any case, if they didn’t have a gold shop, then players will just go to gold sellers. proven fact.

Also salvaging 220 rings gave me only stabilizing matrices and 2x +5 agony resistance infusions and 1 versatile simple infusion.
were those in the rings, or were they drops?
You get two max from each living story season 2 episode.
I listed a minimum of 8
I was just listing ones that are pretty achievable if you set your mind to it.
It’s not a lot, but Verdant Etchings does count as a Celestial ability for Grace of the Land stacks – you can therefore get a couple stacks if your build includes Glyphs.
P.S.: Does anyone know if BoonDuration affects GotL?
So, the only thing they were able to do was a nerf of rewards. Something like them making NPCs in HOT “challenging” by making them super powerful with god like HPs. Yes, this truly is a case of devs doing their best.
What? do you even have HoT? :p
hit points is not what makes magus falls challenging..
on the other hand, there’s room in the system to add new masteries – both to the existing mastery chains, and perhaps even new mastery categories entirely.
They must have considered collapsing WvW masteries into the existing system, but decided against it for some reason. Probably to keep character-specific allocations.
I just hope they solve the fractal situation soon.. maybe adjust the price of keys so it yields slightly higher than what you put into it… or adjust the drop rate of the more rare 20 silver 1 gold and 5 gold trash drops. In my testing the average yield from a key was 12.6 silver, at a cost of 20 silver per key.
It’s pretty clear you arn’t supposed to make money when buying keys
Solution: Don’t buy keys
What you’re seeing with the dip in legacy prices is people dumping those items to raise cash to buy new items, which is exactly what you would expect to see. Outside of shifts due to changes in production (stuff related to precursors with the new materials, armor crafting patches, etc), those should be transitory and those markets would be expected to recover after the rush.
I see a temporary spurt of deflation in game as healthy. Without capital markets, debt, or contracts, you don’t have any of the real stickiness problems of a real economy, and increasing the real value of gold rewards, and people’s savings, is probably a good thing.
While i agree with most of your post, i dont know really know what you mean by the highlighted paragraph.
If you mean Legendary Weapons, their prices have been pretty stable and you cant really see a significant price drop before or after HoT.Precursors went down a bit in the last weeks before launch but already recovered over the weekend. Today, the cheapest dusk on the tp was listed at 1500g, i sold one for 1300g today. And that is despite forging costs (mithril/elder wood/t5 fine mats or rare weapons) losing over 50% of value in the last few weeks.
legacy items – items that are impossible or extremely difficult to acquire now. people who have these stored up are in some cases dumping them in order to raise money. However, the pre-HoT price for these items was ‘what the market would bear’ so as soon as the temporary need to raise money goes away, the prices of those markets should return to where they were before. Maybe a little lower IMO.
its probably better with an ICD, because it keeps the trait more consistent between smaller and larger fights. still easier to gain AF with more allies around, but not as much.
i don’t have any objection in principle. But F3 for return to me is way more important than additional control over individual skills.
double tapping for an ability sounds dubious at best to me, in terms of reliability, useability, and user-friendliness.
Asura are heavier because of all the ego they’re carrying around.
well theres your guys first mistake
stop buying keys and sell the boxes on the market instead
3 years in and still cant get a Story Mode team
done this one a couple times.
You don’t actually need updraft mastery to reach it, but it is a very difficult series of glides without it.
Minions are a bad idea in my experience.
You CAN actually melee it, but you need to be circling it constantly and staying away from the front. The vampire attack seems to be a forward cleave, and it is a bit clumsy; it’s not hard to outmaneuver with a little practice.
One of the things Anet was against at the launch of GW2 was the kill X mob quests yet these event chains have you killing mobs to protect X target while traveling,
this sort of comment just makes me roll my eyes.
you know kitten well what a ‘kill x mob’ quest is….but u r pretending not to. :p
The legenday silverwastes bosses are worth 1 point each, plus one for killing all 4
lion’s arch exterminator is worth one
completing the Tequatl cheevos is worth 1 (on top of 1 from your first Tequatl kill.)
A bunch of the Fractal achievements are worth 1
They arn’t supposed to be super easy kitten that you rack up on like day 4 of the expansion
When I was playing on Verdant Brink my map depopulated and the megaserver decided to start closing it. It gave me a prompt to transfer to another map, or be automatically dumped out in an hour. Unfortunately, by transferring your Participation Bonus for the meta events goes down to zero
its the market at work
soon either ascended prices will go down, or precursor prices will go up
well, technically you do get them from events, in the sense that chests spawn when you complete events.
like in Verdant Brink when you do outposts missions youll see a bunch of pings on the minimap , those are cargo pods. similarly the canopy bosses activate a bunch of airborne cargo.
hmm, did you try the guild initiative?
It’s kind of brutal that you lose your participation bonus if you accept the game prompt to Volunteer. I have no problem losing my bonus if i Join into another map manually, but you shouldn’t be penalized for being on a map that’s closing.
the main downside is it makes playing the central tyria zones kind of lacklustre now :/
the hero challenge champions are generally strong, but most of them have clearly identifiable mechanics which make them much easier once you master them.
for example, the vampiric beast champ will hoover up infinity hitpoints if it lands more than one or two hits in melee. you need to circle it constantly or keep at range to avoid being struck. It’s not that tough other than the vampire mechanic.
*The MK I Golem is a chump as long as you knock down the HealBots
*you can try the creeping crevasse challenge several times until you get a champ you are capable against
*many others are straight up communes, or in the case of the flame-beast veteran grade rather than champ
the only hero challenge in Verdant Brink i’d straight up consider unsoloable is the Zintl settler assassin. Maybe someone can school me with sweet Liadri-grade perfect dodges of the dagger combo and the stealhbow, but…ouch.
I think the hero point bosses could probably stand to be a little weaker and more clearly reliant on gimmicks rather than brute hp/damage. And the Zintl assassin needs a straight up nerf. Leeching Thrasher is probably too strong too, even one target left in the field gives in enormous hp.
So zerkers make great druids? :p
It’s definitely got to be fighting a Mordrem champ or attack group and having some godkitten dinosaur go HAY GUYS and wreck ur day :]
I haven’t fought one of these champions yet but I’m pretty sure the people asking for this are asking for proper scaling not easier content. As it stands it seems these champions are not soloable but get roflstomped by a passing zerg.
None of the enemy spawn hero points I’ve encountered are anywhere near passing zergs, you have to seek them out. Not that I’ve ever even seen a passing zerg in Verdant Brink. It’s rather similar to Dry Top in a lot of ways. The mechanics don’t really encourage zerging.
The champs I’ve encountered are reasonably soloable (I.E. a Husk that is only dangerous if you have no immob clear) but some do have time limits. Friendship recommended!
When I picked my profession at launch, I got to play as it. I didn’t need to play anything else to unlock it. I could use all of the weapons, and only with about a 5 minute commitment I could use all weapons.
Heh. You got to spend a long kitten time leveling your character, slowly unlocking all the things. Weapons unlocked a hell of a lot slower than they do today and rewards were a lot less.
2. the new lore forces you to grind to get as much exp as possible in order to level your new skills like gliding, which in fact, is grinding. There is no other way to put it.
You earn xp doing literally everything in this game. Grinding is doing the same thing over and over again. I did 4 Maguuma mastery points on launch night doing no grind at all (maybe ~50% of Verdant Brink).
I see your point, but I think heals kinda natively synergize with the pet as it is. I.E. Wisp is superb for most pets.
Vine Surge seems the most likely skill for a direct pet synergy. Something like inflict extra damage on the pets next attack if you immobilize an enemy.
Something more off the wall might be the Pet’s next attack is a (blast?) finisher if you immobilize an enemy.

i find its pretty good in verdant brink. lots of extended fights to build up AF with lots of targets to CC and healing needed.
in other zones, the problem is not generation but that even on extended combat events the waves are seperated enough that your AFG drains before the next wave arrives .
i definitely noticed good AF generation from the staff, but i swapped it out for the greatsword for more damage. i don’t get as much AF now but i do get enough to get things done.
i’m wondering if Moa pet heal counts towards af…
This is worthless. Current mechanic will have to be changed completly, something I expect them to do within the next few days.
Every other class got to enjoy their profession on launch day. Druids? Not so much.
Stop defending a major kittenup from the devs – AGAIN.
that last line particular is silly in a fact thread.
In any case. Celestial form is the most important part of druid. The traits are more important for many other classes elite specs, making them more ‘locked away’ on launch day than Druids.
Do we get enough hero points for the full spec from completing all hero points challenges, or is there another way? I feel like thats not enough if its 1 point each for them
Maguuma challenges are worth 10 pts each
Experienced people (over 1500 hours on this game) playing this one for 5 hours got 1 kitten mastery point for their glider, let alone any hero points.
well, theyre doing it wrong. you can get another mastery point just by following the easy peasy ‘go here and talk to peeps’ finish up of the first mission, and there’s one that is an easy glide from the first waypoint. another one that is a slightly harder glide from the first waypoint. lots of hero points around that are reasonably accessible too.
so im guessing with those stats that they were churning through the meta events and ignoring the other stuff shrug
in principle, i have no problem with lots of effort for the elite specs
however, i think 400 hp is too far. it needs to be 200, 250, imo. maybe goes to 400 for bonus swag.

Still, the problem raised about Hero Points being guarded by champions is an issue. A veteran is soloable. Most champions are soloable with skill. Combine that, and it gets hard really quick. And now there are a lot of people running around the maps. Over time this will decrease as the population spreads to the rest of the world.
this is not true, because megaserver.
We plan on getting ours today, if so, you are welcome. The big IF is something else. I am hearing that you have to learn a language to be able to go in that hall. I hope this is not true…..that would be a low blow as NOTHING was every said about that in how to claim your hall. Can anyone answer that?
You can access the entrance with gliders. Found it while exploring. Didn’t go in though… If its gated by Itzel masteries beyond that it would be weird.
i’m more sympathetic to complaints about the spec unlocks now that i’ve played it
the grind is acceptable for a main character but doing it more than once is going to be brutal, especially since your only practical choice is to do Maguuma challenges.
straightforwardly it is overcosted. It should cost way less hero points and Maguuma challenges should not give 10. it should be like 200-250 points tops and Maguuma challenges give 5.
For some puzzles (I only tried Drydock Scratch) you can use the wisp travel to make precision jumps for you. Just, uh, be careful; it works best on things that are below you and not too far away.
Please post your reports of issues with HoT in this thread. That will allow our teams to review your reports and deal with them as promptly at possible.
“A disk-i/o error has occurred! Guild Wars 2 will now terminate.”. I was able to play the game yesterday, but now i can’t download the new files. It shows me this error over and over again.
Note:
Are you sure the disk is not full or otherwise damaged?
This sounds like a hardware fault, or some other critical issue preventing the game from writing or reading to the hard drive.
i think 3 members is a reasonable minimum for guild content.
:?
“WvW capture and hold, capture a supply camp until the camp upgrades to tier 1, required members 3”
The living story mission “Pact Assaulted” cannot be completed right now. The mission objective to ‘free captive soldiers from the Mordrem pods’ only spawns 2 of the required 3 pods, making the objective impossible. Restarting the mission has no effect.
