I’ve started my Asura thief far ago. I was noob in the game, just start Asura and nothing more.
Exping him to the 80th, geared up, played hard...
But, there was NO any warnings about Asura’s nearly invisible armor parts and weapons. I’ve tried many combinations but all was the same - very-very tiny ><
There was NO any warnings about Asura’s racial medium armor looks ugly (Human’s T3 med armor rocks for thieves). I was NO able to preview Human’s cultural armor with my Asura.
And I’m really bored to play Asura.
If against it (and you have real reasons, not just to be against something) - why you are not against makeover kits? Where is your posts "Remove it immidiately!’ ??

The world bosses in this game are a joke. I have never seen an entire group of people wipe or lose more than 20% of the players (dead). The bosses need mobility, tethered of course (but a huge tether).
In DAoC it wasn’t uncommon for a whole zerg to be whiped because a boss clobbered them. The unpredictability of the boss is what makes the event fun; the loot afterwards is just the icing on the cake.
In this game, everyone just stands in a “safe spot” and afk’s while their toon AA’s the boss…lame.
Does anyone else feel the same? If not, why? Please be constructive.
Yeah, you are right but… But with that culling and lags boss killing will becomes to the suicidal thing, if they make them more mobile and harder, you know…
That or he tried to Frenzy HB the thief and ate a Backstab…

My Engineer with 3200 Defense has never recieved hits more than 5k per single strike. And mostly it was something like 2-3k
So I dunno what you talking about on "12k hit to the warrior with 3200 armor" - just didn’t believe this.

Thieves don’t needs in any kind of buffs now.
Compared to the other classes, almost all the thief traits have “set-limits” that are completely lack-luster, and most of the boons are completely temporary compared to the other classes.
With all the nerfs coming to thief, I wonder if they are going to look at our “shared” traits with other classes and realize (Hey… these guys have the same traits, except there traits are horrible compared to the other classes!)
Stealth traits are some of the best ones we have, and with them being nerfed by half by doubling the reveal buff, I wonder what else a thief should be able to do.
Another silly question… why do we have 30% boon duration when we have little to no boons?
Why do almost all our traits have a ridiculous GCDs? Why are half our weapons useless?

Not, Flamethrower is an offensive option and must be buffed. But grenades must me defensive.

Say both you and your pet had 8 stacks of Bleed on you. That’s 16 messages that you took the tick damage every single second. Plus, of course, whatever direct hits you’ll take in that time. Similar for Regeneration and pulsing heals like Shadow’s Rejuvenation.

I’ve played in the WAR and this never was a problem, but it was very-very helpful.
Fyi the exactly difference in damage between Air And fire sigils is 10%. Both have the same power contribution.

But some people believes SoA sometimes adding 1sec stun to the foe and SoF sometimes adding 1sec burn to the foes.
I didn’t believe this.
I prefer SoA - coz a bit more damage. Mostly, my thief don’t need to do AOE.
After ANEt’s fix I will add to choise SoBlood - 482 damage every 2 sec, or 1200 damage every 5 sec. But it not only damage, but self heal (the same 1200 HP every 5 sec) too
But now this sigil triggers only once per 5 seconds

When the game launched, there were 5 major currencies:
- Gold
- Gems
- Karma
- Dungeon Tokens
- Badges of Honor
As of now, the amount of currencies has nearly doubled with the addition of:
- Laurels
- Commendations
- Fractal Relics
- Pristine Fractal Relics
I did not include Influence and Merits in this because those are earned on a per guild rather than per person basis. I also did not include sPvP currencies.
At launch, players could effectively earn the majority of the currencies with a playstyle that included 1 or 2 of the major game systems (open world PvE, WvW, Dungeons).
The consequence of all these currencies is that they all now have exclusive rewards.
- I can not earn ascended amulets or other laurel vendor gear with by playing though dungeons, WvW, or fractals. I must do dailies to gain awards that are exclusive to dailies; therefore, I must add dailies to my playstyle.
- I can not earn ascended earrings(accessories) by doing WvW, fractals, dungeons, or PvE. I now must add Guild Missions to my playstyle OR sacrifice a month worth of dailies + monthly + 50ecto to afford one earring.
- I can not earn ascended rings by playing dungeons, WvW, or open world PvE. I must either add fractals and dailies to my playstyle .
- I can not earn ascended back pieces by playing dungeons, WvW, Guild Missions, Dailies, or open world PvE. I must add fractals to my playstyle.
So, as of right now, I must do the following to gear 1 character:
- Guild Missions
- Fractals
- Dailies/Monthlies
- Dungeons/Crafting for exotic armor
God help you if you prefer playing WvW…

I humbly submit that you do not add any more currencies. You are not extending the goal post anymore; you are adding multiple goal posts in every kitten direction. As soon as I run one way, there’s a goal post in a COMPLETELY different direction. I consider myself “hardcore”, but this is getting extremely tiring.
To be clear, I am NOT saying that you should not add more content.
What I’d like is for rewards for new content to be tied to existing currencies.
I suggest that you:
Add all ascended gear types to
- Guild Merits
- Dungeons (i.e. require 3-4 gifts to make an accessory)
- WvW
- Fractals (edit)
- Karma (edit)
- CRAFTING
And for the sake of Lyssa, use NEW SKINS AS INCENTIVES INSTEAD OF STATISTICAL INCREASES. I can tell you right now those using medium armor classes really could use some options.
Skins and titles are what kept people playing in GW1; new long term goal posts every month are what’s driving wedges in the game now.

Switching weapons should restore half your initiative, other classes cool-downs from other weapons keep going, but thieves do not have cool-downs.
I feel that the thief class should be redesigned a little around having one weapon, or we should get something for switching weapons.

yes but my glass canon ranger does 1k dmg on it’s 1 and 2 skill… not 3-4k and 7k hearts + 8k backstab. i also have no defense whereas a thief can stealth every 3 seconds.
care to continue this debate? nothing you can say can defend the thief class.

Rangers, especially trap rangers SB/S+WH – nearly best classes for 1vs1 fights. Maybe you need practice more with your build – I dunno, but your cry “OMG I lack of solo-DPS” makes me laught
When playing against a good thief, you must know their mechanics and style very well so that you can predict their attacks
To be good in PvP you MUST know mechanics of the ALL classes. If you r not – you will suck and creating QQ-threads after this ^^

Noone’s dumb enough to use Assassin’s Signet, and you have 30s to apply the Basilisk Venom giving you plenty of room to check for an engage. And… Tell me how you’re actually seeing a Steal coming like all the other cases I mentioned, this one coming from a decent Thief is only predictable… 50% of the time? Due to its instant cast nature? Don’t tell me I’m actually teaching you how to play one, baddie.
Besides it’s not even a complaint but a comment, I suppose that I get off really easy since I main an Engineer overprepared to greet the cheese with open arms. The results of these mechanics can be seen on most of the playerbase, and leads to why there are complaints, why the WvW grounds are infested by that, and why there are 850 sup3r0wn4g3 Thief PvP Fragm0v1es featuring 1v5+ everyday, something that you can do blindfolded with both hands bound when facing cattle due to the nature of the mechanisms. I don’t know if the hypocrisy or the refusal for most of Thieves to make efforts is considered laughable or disgusting.

If thief running to you and he is nearly 900 distanse – he will steal in the 90% cases.
If his weapons D/D – he will steal 100% (steal or shadow step – doesn’t really matter)
What you need more?
Many power-thieves using AS, really.
Videos 1vs5? Lol? If that 5 foes can be beaten by just 1 thief – they are really noobs and any class will be able to stomp them too, not only thief.
And there is a tons movies with 1 Engi vs 3-5 noobs too.
And noone will running with venoms just for fun. Mostly it’s used directly before the combat begins. For thieves “start of the battle” = “burst”, so…
With all the combos said above, there is one difference between all of them and the Thief burst: Predictability.
Clones running to you? > Prepare a defensive move.
Bull Rush / Charge of any kind? > Prepare a defensive move.
Rangers using Quickness? > Prepare a defensive move.
Necro installing wells? > Well…. just don’t stand in there, you don’t even need to ‘dodge’ or ‘block’ that.
Necro attempting to immobilize you? > They raise their arms begging you to dodge their attack > Dodge.
Engi using magnet / throwing net on you? > Dodge. (The Rifle burst is probably the closest thing to the unpredictability of a Thief burst)You have a fair amount of time to react to most of things.
When a decent Thief looks to burst you down he’ll check if you have eventual counter moves such as Block, since you must set it up before an engage as Steal-Mug-BVenom is pretty much instant (Then CnD and Backstab if no escape at all). Superior mind-games will get through this, sometimes requiring you to engage with something that has 1200 range for the sake of safety. Not all the Thieves are killhungry to the point of being braindead, many of them are aware of all that.

Just remove distance difference from LB#1 - let it will do the same damage everywhere
Here is a pet window showing buffs/debuffs with duration that you can see at all times, way more helpful than the awful bar in this game, maybe it can help give you some ideas on how to do it right.
Hell everquest around 2000 had a better UI for pets than GW2. So sad how bad and archaic Anet made this UI. No text file logging combat dmg windows does not work 1/2 time. No pet dmg in combat windows. And all chat stuck to only 1 allowable window. Wow 2000 is calling Anet they want there UI back.
Agree. Not only pet’s but overall UI is really awful and non-informative
Maybe, default UI of WoW or WAR are not good too, but they allow users to make their addons to make it more useful and cool.

Why rangers bad for FotM:
1. Bows. Most bow attacks - projectiles. There is a lot of situations of 100% projectiles reflection. Especially at bonus level.
2. Pet. He will die extremely fast. Especially at10+ lvls, coz agony
3. Pet. He will aggroing unneeded mobs.
4. Pet. At bonus level he will be targeted very often even if he dead.
5. AOE. Rangers didn’t have good AOE, but sometimes it very needed.
If you or your party doesn’t afraid of this - use Knight gear and all will be Ok. FotM - just another dungeon, like CoF etc.

Yeah, you are right – this is the clear example of zerg. Even if camera didn’t turns back – you can see that zerg at the radar – green dots ^^
Sure, #1 BK have huge DPS (maybe, it have top DPS of any engineer’s tools) but it’s time lag before explosion fully ruins this kit usage in the high dinamic combats.
