How about this, Mr. OP:
They start making the 6-piece armor sets. They have a very low drop rate and can only be obtained a special way. That way is a new Fractal or Dungeon. And that method is going to be added in once every 3-6 months. Oh, just to afford the upkeep of it, the developers are going to start charging $15 monthly subscription for the game; no more buy-2-play. Deal?
If u glitch a boss kill it in a way its impossible to fail can u get banned?
what if u get a team who kick if u dont agree? just leave? :/
Yes, you can get banned for “glitching a boss it in a way its impossible to fail”. That is the very sum definition of EXPLOIT. You are exploiting the boss in a way not meant in the design of the content to defeat said content for the rewards. That is against the terms of service.
And if you get a team that is trying this, LEAVE THE GROUP. Don’t be a part of it or you’re risking a ban yourself. You know it’s wrong. They know it’s wrong. The thing about it is to be a better player and not do what’s wrong just because “shinnies!”.
This again? There have been players requesting this since launch, and it is futile. Multiple reasons aside, lets just set it out there that the T3 cultural is a rarity that is kept as such by the expense cost. But it also keeps its status as a well sought after set.
Oh, and you can convert Karma into gold via the chests at Balthazar Temple in Orr. Or you could also use Karma to purchase 4x of the T3 cultural weapons and then Mystic Forge them into exotic weapons you can sell. Both of these are options to get gold from Karma, having done both myself many times.
“Transgender people can be straight, gay, lesbian or bisexual. Q stands for questioning – someone who is questioning their sexual and/or gender orientation. Sometimes, the Q stands for “qu**r,” a term reclaimed by some LGBTs for political reasons.”
www.depts.ttu.edu/scc/virtual_library/lgbtq.php
It is political, you can’t make it not. Now I’m not saying it is political because of that quote. I just thought it was funny.
You cannot reclaim something that was never yours. You mean “flip”, right? Because there was never a claim to the word Q**** for LGBT individuals. The word has always been a negative tone towards LGBT because the base definition of being “strange, odd”. Only ignorant folks are trying to take that word in for their own selves instead of just dismissing it as the negative word it is and leaving there amongst the f-words, n-words, c-words, and other hate words that exit in the world. There is no such thing as ‘LGBTQ’, only LBGT. There is no room for Q because it is a negative, hate filled word.
Again, people, A.Net specifically stated that they are not supporting ANY pre-purchase from 3rd party sites yet. No announcement. No links. No seal of approval. Amazon has a ‘market’ allowing individuals and businesses to sell on the site, not just directly from Amazon. That means that illegal key sellers could potentially be on Amazon selling keys they got through stolen credit cards. If it is cheaper than this site’s game version, more than likely it was obtained that way.
Be patient and wait for official word instead of risking them locking your whole account because a fraud call on the KEY related to what you get from Amazon just to save $5-10.
Why is there a Mystic Forge in the Guild Halls?
https://youtu.be/BgG1G2N3WEk?t=40s
00:40, mid-lower, in front of the building being built.
See it? Do you see it?! That is a Mystic Forge! That is a Djinn encased magical forging location. Maybe I’m wrong…maybe, but doesn’t look that way.
Why would they allow for that? I’m seriously hoping that I’m wrong on this. It would basically empty out grand cities like Lion’s Arch (the home of Zommoros) with guilds going to their Guild Hall instead of the centralized city.
It is one of those not-so-covert ways Anet gets back door money. Free to play…almost.
The game is NOT Free-to-Play. It is a Buy-to-Play model that requires a purchase to play. However if you want more convenience items -bag expansion, bank expansion, etc.- then it requires a bit more money. There is nothing covert or back door about it, nor should there be. It has been this day since the Beta of the game before it launched. A.Net is a business, so they do have to make some money somehow; not give everything away for free.
OP, if you have $5 -the cost of less than a Big Mac meal at McD’s- then spend it and buy a bag slot. Simple, cheap, and you’re helping a game you enjoy by paying the developers, who in turn develop more content for it.
Most likely they might lose their entire accounts. Considering that the accusations are that they were account sharing so that someone else could play for them -hello? anyone here of IP locations?- and win the tournament. Whether they paid these other individuals or what kind of compensation was agreed upon (split the winnings?) is a moot point. The bottom line is that they shared accounts to have others play their tournament qualifiers and play for them. That is a major violation of the User Agreement:

Chance to buy specializations individually?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Siphaed.9235
Seems a little overboard to buy a expansion pack to play Reaper in wvw/pvp at this point. How about like $2 per elite specialization? Just a suggestion.
No. if you want part of the expansion, you buy the expansion . Nothing more need be said on the topic. Buy it or don’t. But features won’t be sold “piecemeal”.
That’s a kilt, not a skirt!
From the official wiki:
Logitech Gaming Keyboards[edit]
This key section of the article is incomplete. You can help the Guild Wars 2 Wiki by expanding it.
G19s has its own app that shows world completion, zone completion, WvW score, basic stats (power, precision, defense, and health), and the combat log.
The G13 is a mini-keyboard that includes 25 programmable G-keys that simplify complex actions by allowing you to configure up to 75 unique functions across three different modes with three macros per key. (G-key programming requires Logitech® Gaming Software, available at gaming.logitech.com/support)
G15 shows world completion, zone completion, WvW score, and basic stats (power, precision, and defense). So ANET not only allows, but apparently endorses macros to some extent.
May want to look at the Wiki a bit more clearly. Here, I’ll link you the page:
Best way to make gold: Buy a TON of T3 Cultural weapons (doesn’t matter race). Take them to the Mystic Forge. Start combining. Resell all the weapons you make out of it. Possible precursor too (I’ve gotten 2 this method).
If you want to show that you’re a vet: get to level 80, craft a Legendary, wave it in their face. That’s it.
Sounds good, I like to stunt’ on l0wbiez, how long does it take?
2.5 years and a whole lot of luck.
If you want to show that you’re a vet: get to level 80, craft a Legendary, wave it in their face. That’s it.
I think people are simply overhyping what Rubi actually said.
She said: “Next week we have something extra cool to reveal”.
People keep throwing around that she said that it would be something super-special and such. And yet those words were never uttered by Rubi, they were created by people hyping up what was actually said (just like more or less every single time).
And yes, the rebuilding of Lion’s Arch and the more or less complete overhaul of a major part of WvW is something extra cool.
This, this, and this some more. It was people’s own delusional expectations that “over hyped”. The rebuilding of LA and the revamp of WvW upgrades/Masteries is very much a special surprise in both departments. WvW is now going to be less daunting for entry level players to get into; and there will [hopefully] be less toxicity related to the mistaken use of supply in keeps, towers, and camps.
P.S. There could be something tomorrow that has yet to be announced. Just saying. Don’t go all pessimistic without waiting until after the Stream tomorrow.
Removed. Colin confirmed on Reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/36qzdj/upgrading_world_vs_world_upgrades/crgccbpSo Colin is spending more time answering questions on reddit than the official forums… Pathetic.
I have to admit… that is kind of sad. This is the official guild Wars 2 Forums, not reddit. This question was asked here over 2 hours ago. Yet the first place the Devs find out there was even a question is on another site… LOL
Probably because it is far easier to answer a reddit question on a phone or tablet while doing other work thing instead of constantly checking your PC in sub-forums on the GW2 website.
So apparently “endless” means it creates an endless field of them? I doubt that was intended. Somehow it’s happening on the server and there are so many banners in one place that it can possibly cause the city to crash the server.
Any possible fix for this before it gets really bad?
i hope he was greatly interesting )
But right now i have few friends, new to this game, that see just “another-game-with-farm-spots-called-legendary-events” instead of legendary events i’ve seen, that’s really sad
No, before he was a zerged, easy-to-kill mess that died as quickly as the Fire Elemental. Now he is very decent and has a huge chance of failure. The fight has phases, different mechanics, group splitting, siege weapons, tons of trash mobs, and lasts roughly 15-30 minutes easy. …well, maybe it’s more like 10. Hmm, ..is it that long? I don’t know. But it is a very fun fight now compared to what it was originally.
And Tri-worm and Vine Wrath are both as complex and challenging. Each having high failure rates and requiring tons of cooperation. It’s just the rest of the world bosses are ..generic now?
With the reskinning of the Precursors, if you own/unlock the Legendary, all associated precursor skins should automatically unlock for you in the wardrobe.

Not possible. Gifts are account bound and crafted by personal choice with absolutely 100% no way of crafting the wrong one mistakenly. Customer service will not be able to help you on this one. You’ll just have to craft another Gift for the one you want.
Supporting addons should be seen as an investment in development time and player retention. Subletting the smaller stuff to addon creators puts the responsibility of answering this inevitable maelstrom of complaints into the hands of people who are actually capable of responding to them quickly (without being held to the standard of AAA development and corporate structure). I don’t think addons will retain all players, but it could keep a huge chunk of them. And people that are willing to modify/customize their gaming experience might just be the ones most likely to spend money on a cash shop that allows for modification and customization of their characters. This is a lucrative player demographic, no matter how big or small it ends up being.
Except not. Those are the kind of demographic that worries more about statistics, numbers, and turning an experience within a virtual game world into a graph. They are not the RPers that care about having a mini pet, a new dye, a new outfit, or anything of that nature. Nope. That demographic you’re speaking of are the kind that would plague the game’s group content with messages of “your damage sucks noob!” as they kick players from dungeons after the first boss thanks to their ‘very epic DPS meter’. Player developed gear score add-ons would be a matter of a months from that, judging others based solely on numbers.
It is basically opening the floodgates to all the evils that come with add-ons. And sorry to say, but those evils far outweigh any benefits that come with it. A.Net knows as much, which is why they’ve left the add-ons locked for so long in their minimalist-UI game.
I don’t understand this kind of post. MMORPG had MMO in it for a good reason. 3/4 of the content in GW 2 is arlready doable in solo. If you do the same with dungeons, it’s th death of the PvE. Random groups have certains defaults, of course, but it’s the point of an online game, you meet people, some goods, some bads and you deal with it.
There is plenty of awesome solo Rpg, don’t try to kill the essence of a game.
Massive MULTIplayer Online
Can someone play explain to me why do people come play an MMORPG and then expect everything to be done alone?
Massive MULTIplayer Online
The game was also advertised as play the way you want to play. Sometimes some of us just want to play alone. The great thing about MMOs is playing with other people. The bad thing about MMOs is that you are obligated to play with other people
Why dont you play single player action rpgs than? There are more than enough of them. Don’t understand the logic of People coming to a MMORPG (multiplayer yes) demanding that everything is a singleplayers game, which they know it isn’t.
I agree with all these posts. There are more than enough single-player RPGs out there for people to experience; this game is not one of them. It is a massively multiplayer online RPG that is designed for group gameplay. Just look at world bosses, dynamic events, WvW, and sPvP as indicators of such.
Dungeons are another aspect of that multiplayer design. Just because players have been able to manipulate certain ones of them to a solo style of play via Ascended gear (something that they were never balanced around) and certain heals Sigils/Runes, does not mean that they’re going to be changed and/or intended for solo play. That is merely a side-effect of the game’s evolution and progression. Increasing their difficulty related to these previously mentioned things would gate far more players out of it than wanting (which is why the developers kept them balance around Exotic and not Ascended gear). To flip the coin, decreasing difficulty or changing mechanics would trivialize the content from it’s originally intended purpose: multiplayer dungeon excursions.
They have yet to announce any Beta test related to it. Considering that there is no NDA, I’m sure that you would hear immediately via these forums about it on either here or Reddit.
Although the way they were talking at the end of yesterday’s LiveStream, I have a feeling that there will be some sort of Beta Test next week. They said something special is happening next week that gives reason why they’re skipping a Specialization release.
You’re not supposed to show these with the link in them. Might want to photoshop that out, or use PAINT with a black-bar. Either way, get that link gone. And this isn’t nothing new either.
Avian Mantle was released with one of the Living Story Season #1 sections. Most likely will not return, instead can be purchased off of BLTC (although for extremely high amounts!).
Tribal armor has been said by the developers to return at some point in time, but they haven’t decided when yet. It was -originally- a semi-exclusive skin to sPvP only (from what I recall). I think they might return them as a possible reward to a WvW season or something (~crosses fingers~).
Can you people make up your minds please?
For 2 years straight – no matter what anet did – it was always: “we want an expansion, the game needs an expansion. no monthly, bi-weekly updates, we need expansions”.Now that they are working on an expansion you want the bi-weeklies back?
I have never had a problem with the bi-weekly system, i log in every day anyhow but this post is hilarious (or sad) if you remember all the calls for an expansion.
Do not lump everyone into that “you people” statement. Some vocals may have asked for an expansion, but I never have. I loved the Living Story and it’s temporary status. I loved how that when things happened they were in history of “remember when the Tower of Nightmares exploded?” or “recall the 100’s and 1,000’s of dead bodies in Lion’s Arch when the Karka army invaded?” Good times, not bad.
But I suppose an Expansion is good for the game to breath back life into it. It’s just an issue that the original game gets ignored and abandoned when such expansion is announced to be in-development. And when they claimed to be so far in the progression of development of it at PAX South, only to show so many placeholders and “work in progress” and incomplete features. Really, are they even going to be ready to launch it this year at all? That is kind of a good question, right? And if it launches around the holiday season (November/December), then that is many more months stacked against the game of lacking content additions.
How [much] long[er] will the content drought be for?
The Chinese New Year patch was the last content update for the game. [Note: No, April Fool’s Day was not content; it was messing with camera and character animation in order to promote a later created Gem Store item. There was no actual content to it at all.] So the CNY happened mid February and ended at the end of the month. That patch contained one rehashed even -Dragon Ball- and a few dailies involving lighting fireworks and spending gold for “luck” and more gold.
Since then we’ve had a single day of open testing of the sPvP Stronghold map and the Beta Portals scavenger hunt. Neither of these are content, but both relating to testing for Heart of Thorns. One was actual testing of content and a sneak peak of said content when it releases. The latter was a “play old content for a very slim chance at testing some unknown for Heart of Thorns”
Oh alright, back on point. Today is May 12th, 2015 and we still have yet to get a release date for Heart of Thorns. This is a retail expansion, so the developers need time to get pre-orders, ship to retailers, etc. Pre-purchase for GW2 was open in April of 2012, with the game releasing on August 28th 2012. I will yield to the fact that the official release date wasn’t announced until June 28th 2012, so there is some time. That is still a 2 month gap between announcement of and actual release.
Given that, the players are still looking at late July at the earliest for release of the HoT expansion. That is 5 to 5 & 1/2 months between content updates for the game. And that is without the most predictable release date that is floating around: end of August, at the 3 year anniversary of the game. With that expectation, it would be 6 & 1/2 months since a content update for the game.
And it used to be a bit sad -and prospectively funny- of those playing WoW Mist of Pandaria between its last patch and the release of Warlords of Draenor. That was over a year long stretch that they were paying a subscription to get no new updates for a LIVING WORLD that is an MMORPG.
Here we are in Guild Wars 2, a self-proclaimed champion of the Living World/Story, and we’re following suit of what other games are doing? Prolonged periods of nothingness followed by a single box release and possibly more periods of nothingness.
Worse is that there is no recycling of events for the game. At least in the previously mentioned competition they have cycled events that happen from month to month or week to week (talking about the STV Fishing Tournament and the Dark Moon Fair). Why isn’t there a turning on of the Super Adventure Box for a week or month? Why must the Queen’s Pavilion still be locked away? Can the Consortium not throw another Beach Bash just because? Not even a relocation of the famed Moa Races?
Oh, and don’t even get me started on how long Lion’s Arch has been in shambles since Scarlet’s destruction of it. At least the rebuilding of the Lion’s Statue was progressed through months after Mad King Thorn destroyed it; same goes for a new Light House post-Ancient Karka smash. However here we are with the city having tons of builders -some without hammers too- doing absolutely nothing to rebuild the city.
I wonder if OP could post the source of his claim that the current active Chinese players is less than 50k. That’s quite a drop from a year ago of 3.8 million.
Anet already said that this information is false. The numbers presented were characters created, not accounts.
This has been discussed countless times on these forums and others.K
It still would have been interesting to see a source for the claim of less than 50k players, if there was one in English.
What he’s linking to is the Chinese version of Google, and specifically their analytics page (thank you alberte :V ). It’s showing an overall trend of 94% downward of people searching the game in comparison to last year (with a trend downwards of 2% of the searches still being made on a week per week basis).
While that’s not exactly true evidence of there being less players, that’s a pretty extreme trend of people not searching for the game.
Not really an extreme trend at all. The game launched in China last year on May 10th. Before then was the Betas, trials, and things of that nature. In fact, with it being a launching title, most cursory searches were to find out about the game to see if it was worth purchasing and investing into. After launch, why would people be searching for it as much? The same thing happened to western searches of the game as well after it launched. However, I’m certain that the trend will once again move upward when Heart of Thorns sets a release in China either after or during the EU/US one.
Also, and this is a kicker, the mobo should be fitted well for the CPU’s base heatsink at least. The mobo I’d gotten with my CPU has horrible placement of the RAM slots so that the non-stock HS prevents me from using 2 slots (which isn’t a worry for me personally, but still a point to bring up).
As long as you don’t have RAM with massive heatsinks you should be fine. Stuff like Corsair Vengeance may have issues but more plain sticks shouldn’t cause any problems.
I need my G.Skill heatsinks. Plain ram is pain ram.
No body brought up the PSU? If you’re going to a higher end CPU, then you’re going to be consuming more power. Can your power supply handle it or are you upgrading that with the CPU? And what kind of heat clearing system and air flow do you have with your case? Better not have a mini, that’s for sure . If you try to game with a mini, good luck because expect to have severe overheating issues. A mid with front fans, top fans, back fans, and a side vent is minimum, but a full is much better just because the big space.
I didn’t even notice it was gone. They never said it was going away and I really planned on buying it this Friday. What a load of whooey!
I’m going to agree with others here and say that it was directed at other players rather than just casual swearing. Also, which “f word” was it? Because that matters greatly as to whether or not your ban is due to using a prejudicial slur that is meant to demean and oppress a group of people unjustly.
~T3 Cloth: Savant Coat.
-Issue: Hides each and every should piece going with it, even the Savant Epaulets. This means that the color from those does not distinguish from the mocking fake parts of the item itself.
~T3 Cloth: Savant Helm.
-Issue: Hides hair and makes all Asura bald, even though it had a section that should be for hair.
~T1 Cloth: Adapt Boots.
-Issue: Asura have 3 toes that fan out at angles. These ‘boots’ cut off 2 of those 3 toes and make it so that they look like Bookah feet.
These are just the most notable issues with them as I’m mainly a cloth user. However my characters are ashamed to swear their own cultural armors due to the outrageous issues that have plagued them since launch. This definitely needs to be looked at by the art team. The best, most expensive armors in the game are buggy and have more issues that cheap ones. Really?
… I managed to get one precursor out of the mystic forge…by combining four random rares. Not only that. It was a combination of armour parts and weapons. It’s kind of funny.
….
The thing is, I got both my Precursors the same way. Okay, the first was by combining 4x of the Asuran Cultural T3 weapons. The second one was by combining 3x random rares (2 weapons, 1 armor) + 1x Mystic Forge Stone. But after combining Exotic after Exotic, the best thing I’ve ever gotten from it is some randomly ‘rare’ type thing worth 16 gold. Rares, on the other hand, have a far better pay out in the long run.
We don’t need to see it in-game, sometimes good video evidence is enough for me to track down who it was. In this case, the video was enough for me to find out who it was and take action. Thanks for the video, and to accompany your video, I give you this video:
Oh yah, he’s also banned
So that was the actual guy in the earlier linked video? That was his account you logged into, killed his character, and then deleted it? If os, that’s pretty cool.
RNG is just that. Random Number Generator. You get a 5 and wanted a 7, too bad. You get gold instead of grey, good for you! It is a luck of the draw.
There have been people with 300+% Magic Find that have yet to find a Precursor, make one, or even see anything close to it’s worth. Sure they find more greens and yellows out of loot drops, but that equals to but a trickle of gold for them. And thus is the poor unlucky.
And then there are people like me who randomly toss in the couple of account-bound rares/exotics and pop out 2x Zaps in the span of a month. Not just two Precursors, but the same Precursor twice. No, that’s not a joke. It may be a sick joke against those that get nothing at all, but such is the way with luck. Ended up selling both and finally making a Bifrost.
Does that make me lucky? In some areas, sure. However I’ve also spent well over 20 … 30ish+ hours between Silverwastes and Dry Top this week with not a single Beta Portal to show for it. I swear I might have actually spent more time grinding for that thing than my Bifrost, and yet… See the results? R.N.G. Numbers are good in some cases but bad in others.
I’d only agree to any suggestions with one majorly complicated change that they’d need to program in:
~Credit towards rewards is not counted if the jumping puzzle is completed by going through a Mesmer Portal.
It still irks me to this day seeing people begging in LA for a Mesmer to portal them up in the pirate jumping puzzle or the other ones. Bah!
So many hours wasted trying for this thing. So many hours. And what do I have to show for it?
Nothing but a Zap (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Zap) from combining other random drops and rewards from events. I guess that puts me closer to making my own Legendary, but it’s no Portal.
It’s no portal, but it’s way better than one!
But I wanted to get into the Heart of Thorns Beta. Test new things, find new bugs. Make it the best launch possible. To be able to play-test the Beta while wearing my Heart of Thorns t-shirt and Heart of Thorns Badge (thank you MMORPG.com and A.Net for those beauties).
So many hours wasted trying for this thing. So many hours. And what do I have to show for it?

OP, you demanded a price. Players with reasonable expectations gave you reasonable price estimates. You try to dispute them at every turn. What exactly are you wanting out of this thread?
What if an A.Net employee posted in this thread “$39.99 regular edition, $59.99 digital deluxe, and $100 for the Collector’s Edition”? What if you’d got your answer as simply stated as that? I feel that you’d spend the rest of the thread trying to say that the expansion isn’t worth that and you’re not going to pay it or play it. That is what your posts are saying.
Honest, it’s worth it for me. I’ve already started putting some money back and will have $150 ready to drop on a CE if they have it priced like the original. And if they don’t? Then the extra money will go to gems and I’ll still spend $150 on the new expansion. Why? Thousands of hours of /age played in this game from enjoyment and fun. It’s still cheaper than going to movies, which are repetitive and only last 1.5-3hrs each at most!
and by that I mean the nickle and diming grindy feel whenever you want to change your character’s appearance or have more than character 5 slots or more bank slots or….etc. Like I paid 50+ USD $ for it when it originally came out. Played since day 1. I’ve got like two, TWO pieces of cosmetics I’ve unlocked (like the special ones you can apply for free) . Seriously? There are f2p games with more cosmetic options for less time spent.
Sure there are random loot crap unlocks. I’m talking about looks you’d actually want on your character. I know the token thingys arent too hard to grind but they’re still a grind. for a paid model I should be able to change my appearance on a whim.
Have you been playing at all then? I get that you say you’ve played since day 1, but have you taken like a 2 year break or something? I’ve got ….hmm, 3x full sets T1 & T2 Cultural Gear (Sylvari and Asura cloth, Asura medium), a full set of Asura light T3 Cultural. Beyond that all the Koden dungeon Light, almost all the Arah Light, full set of the Charr Molten dungeon Light, the 3 pieces from the Personal Story (the weird looking ones), the whole set from Living Story S2 (not the glowing, just the regular), 5 different ‘random’ sets from Hearts or world drops, 3 crafted sets, and a few of the ones created through the Forge.
And those are just the light sets. Unlocked are a ton of Medium and Heavy armors as well, I just mostly roll light characters. And beyond armors I’ve got a 1,600 gold Immobulus unlocked, 3/4ths to a Legendary, 2 Dragon weapons from Dragon Bash, 12 different event back pieces, Mawdry, and others.
And I play casually as well as took a 6 month vacation.
Size doesn’t matter. They all have the exact same hit-box.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/HOT-purchased-in-game-with-gems/first#post4867488
Summed up: No, you cannot buy the expansion with Gems from the in-game store.
They really ruined the arcane and air magic traitlines for ele.
Overall I’m puzzled because forcing people to invest in only 3 traitlines at a time actually does the opposite of promoting build diversity. I don’t get it.
You should realize that Arcane was only ever a supplemental trait line for the other ones, right? It was support through and through.
Skills for Arcane included a crit trigger, blast finisher, cantrip shield, and a single-shot direct crit hit. 4 skills out of the dozens for the class were actually Arcane. And being that all 4 were utility, none of which were a heal or an Elite, that would mean at any given time a player could only have 3 out of the 4 on their skill bar.
And the problem with many of traits in the line was that it wasn’t really “choice” when it came to using specific weapons or specific play style. If you are a Staff Elementalist, you HAVE to invest in Arcane at least in Adapt to get Blasting Staff,…well not any more since that one is being pushed into being part of the actual character now.
They’re just changing it around because right now the builds are completely pigeonholed into specific ones only. This all the while that other builds are completely non-viable in many situations and overall are not used.
Yes, we will be at Games Convention in Cologne. No additional details are available yet, but we’re looking forward to it!
You’ve just basically confirmed that Heart of Thorns will not release prior to August… in fact, it most likely won’t release in August either based on the date of the GCC.
Looks like it’ll be a Christmas release, if that at all.
today I was thinking “meh MAYBE I’ll delete my engi and start fresh” but I instantly remembered that my infinite harvesting tools were on that character. what happens if you lose infinite tools? Does Anet immediately email them? or you just deleted 3000 gems?
You’re basically O.O.L. (out of luck). Why? Because there is a confirmation box when deleting a character that states:
Deleting a character will permanently destroy any items in that character’s inventory as well as any character-based unlocks associated with that character.
If you are certain you wish to delete “<Character Name>”, type the name below and click “Delete.”
What that means is that they gave you clear warning that those items on the character would be deleted and you should think good and kitten what is on the character you are deleting prior to deleting it. I’m sorry to say, but chalk this one up as a life-lesson.
do a ticket. You will get your tools back. How i know? Cause thats what a business that is sucessful would do.
Contact Support. No one here can help you.
And do it quickly. There’s a 24 hour grace period on names. It may extend to the rest of the character file.
No, do not contact support. They cannot help you and you’re just taking up a spot in the queue and extending ticket times for those who truly need help. They provide safeguards such as mentioned above so that the player is well educated and well aware of the consequences of deleting a character. Unfortunately they cannot restore items that you’ve purposely deleted (yes, you did purposely delete them when you purposely deleted the character that they were not). I’m sorry, but please don’t waste support’s time. Thank you.

56 days.
That is how long it’s been since the last content update. Will keep updating on either a daily or weekly basis. Let’s see how many days it gets up to until HoT releases?
Why is there current a lacking related to Guild Wars 2?
Oh the game is fleshed out and has a lot to,… for new players.
Currently there are several things lacking related to the actual game. Last content addition of any type was on Feb. 10th-24th, that being the Lunar New Year. In the 2 weeks it ran there was a handful of achievements, a new back item, and the Dragon Ball mini-game. We’re nearly 60 days from the end of that event, well beyond from the start of it. 60 days and no content updates at all [I’m sorry but no, I do not consider it “new content” for 24hrs to turn the whole screen a pastel color and put the players arms outright for the then later chance to sell that ‘spectacular’ experience as a cash shop item].
It is not just the lacking of new content either. We’ve past the beginning of April -almost the entire month, soon enough- and there has not been any return of old ‘holiday’ content that received so much dedicated development time for the short periods it was available. Yes, I’m talking about the S uper A dventure B ox.
And what of a new Season 3 of WvW? That has been stagnate for some time now without anything to “shake things up!”. Achievements and awards could be the same as last season, just a new finisher or title to add to it and done.
So without these things, old and new, the game is in a stasis of stagnation.
Then there is the Heart of Thorns expansion. Lacking in nearly everything from the mechanics state of being. Nothing has been said of class Specializations outside of the PAX South announcement; and the details from that was lacking because we know a name + weapon (Druid and staff) and a weapon + class (great sword and Necro). Masteries? We know of mushrooms and gliding…oh boy do we know about mushroom and gliding. Guild Halls? I’m not even sure we got to see one full one at all. The presentation at PAX seemed to show concept art of them only.
What they have shown of Heart of Thorns is a few non-purchase things and a lore piece behind the new frog people. By ‘non-purchase things’ I’m talking about the Stronghold sPvP map mode and the new Dessert Borderlands. Both of those have been confirmed by the developers as things that all players will have access to with or without purchasing Heart of Thorns. It is said to be a move to prevent player segregation in these modes.
I recall them saying things were going to happen fast after they announced the expansion.. Like light-speed fast. So far there has been 2 single-day “beta tests” of the sPvP map and HoT’s starting area for Maguuma. The whole layout of the expansion’s map is unknown. The launch date -or relative month/year- is unknown.
The near future of GW2 is currently unknown. And that is because of all the Lacking. And it is scary from a gamer/fan perspective.
