May we get some more WvW dungeons?

Well on my server opponents have a huge advantage in numbers. So they actually dominate everything. Making all of this content close to non-achievable. So unless ANET solves the problem of WvWvW balancing, I say no to this kind of thing.

Um, the dungeon has 3x Invisibility Wells that help players pass enemies in the dungeon. They each last 4 minutes, but that totals 12 minutes (more than enough to complete the dungeon). Just saying, that it’s possible to get beyond everyone without them seeing it.

May we get some more WvW dungeons?

The jumping puzzles in WvW are AMAZING! Hats off to the developer(s) who designed them. I love the traps, love killing other players and/or knocking them off. The rewards are befitting and great (unlike dungeon story modes ;O).

However, there’s a few issues with them:

1) EB is the only “dungeon” jumping puzzle, and with it’s high popularity the map takes forever to get into (queue issues).

2) The Borderlands are clones of each other, thus the puzzles are the same and get a bit stale after a while.

3) The Borderland jumping puzzles have no traps.

Newer jumping puzzle dungeons for WvW need some new mechanics thrown in. Here’s some suggestions:

—Moving platforms

—Water sections (like those of the pirate jumping puzzle in Gandarran fields).

—More environmental weapons

—Another dark room (with a small spike pit)

—None player controlled traps (basically auto-traps triggered by pressure plates, motion, or whatever)

—Pressure-plate doors (for example, a door which required 3 players: 1 on each of two separate pressure plates and then 1 to go into the door and toggle a switch that opened the door or closed it for the other 2). That’s teamwork encouraging right there, more server-pride stuff.

—Poison gas chambers (with gas-mask enviro-weapon that transformed players into a poison immune creature to pass through with only 1-3 abilities).

—Spike pit with shifting floor above (i.e. exactly like the one in the Herathie (sp?) human lands)

—Lava! (cannot go wrong with nature’s unstoppable melting machine)

—M C Escher room (I absolutely LOVE the room in Vexa’s Lab and it would be a great addition to WvW. The reason I think this is during the first day V’s Lab was open, I went in [a second time] with 9 other people and watched as every single one of them went through a portal together….the portal spit them all out of the ceiling and onto the floor dead as a doornail.)

But please, please bring more of these jumping puzzles to WvW/PvP. I know some people say “No! No PvE in my PvP!!!11!1!!”, but every day I see 20-30+ players on each side doing these things. They are popular, they are loved, and they are very rewarding experiences.

Bringing friends isn’t enough….

Bringing ELEMENTALIST and ENGINEER friends is. They AoE the siege from below…siege destroyed, problem solved. I’ve done it 3x this week…and once proceeded by helping build our OWN siege @ the top to prevent enemy from going in. What goes around, comes around.

Edit:

This isn’t just a matter of……it’s pvp deal with it……..they are actively griefing the area. It is impossible to get them out of there.
It is designed as a jumping puzzle, not a castle. The normal methods of taking over an area therefore don’t apply. U cannot get to the area where they have setup their grief spot because they’ve covered the final area where the chest is with arrowcarts.
I don’t expect a white flag in pvp and everone just to let ppl finish the puzzle…but this is exploiting the jumping puzzle mechanics to grief other players.
it is simply against Anet’s anti-griefing mantra. Players have found a way to grief other players and they’re exploiting it. Egro, griefing.
Please do something about this Anet.

You’re wrong. There are traps set up in 3 different sections that when used masterfully, you can lock down an area and prevent an enemy from passing the exact same way. These traps are build into the game by Arena.Net. They were built-in siege mechanics used for “mass griefing” and preventing of the enemy of progressing.

Thief capping objectives while invisible: intended?

Is it intended that a Thief can cap objectives invisible? Or worse yet, prevent people from capping things while invisible.

It’s seriously frustrating when a Thief can troll an entire group of 20+ people just by staying nearly perma-stealth while in the big ring.

I know already, I know: they have to hit someone to keep that stealth up. Which is to say, it’s not to hard to hit someone in a group of 20+ that doesn’t stay grouped up AOEing, but instead runs around trying to find a Thief (giving him mokittengets to stealth off of).

I can understand spiking someone while invisible, that’s okay. I say it’s okay because other classes can use Stability, Elementals use Mist Form, Engineers with Elixir S, and so on. That’s fine, though still very annoying.

But, did Arena.Net intend for Thieves to troll objectives as they’ve been doing lately?

Can we clarify all speculation right now:

1) The game is only 2 months old, so there will NOT be any new races. You will not be able to play the Tengu. Reality checked.

2) The Tengu gate most likely will not open (see below for why)

3) With translated text, and the fact that they actually added an Asura gate to Lion’s Arch, traveling to the new area will be by Asura Gate.

4) Everything posted thus far shows it’s relation to Pirates, not the Tengu. Pirates from Lion’s Arch are going to be making camp on the island(s) and will be main NPC’s in the new zone(s).

5) There’s a new dungeon. This came directly from the developer’s mouth that it’s expanding on level 80 end-game content (so don’t ask or assume a newbie dungeon).

6) The new zone is level 80, the EVENT is going to be for all (again, dev’s have said this).

7) I really, REALLY doubt that we’ll be facing another Elder Dragon this early in the game’s life.

8) No Thanksgiving related holiday event (quoted by dev).

Any others to clear up?

My Thoughts:

1) Why are you not already playing on your friend’s server already?

2) You’ve had over a month to transfer to said friend’s server, but have yet to? Why is that? Are you even going to?

3) I’m seeing this thread less about wanting to “join friends” and more wanting to hop from server to server for some nefarious reason (possibly exploiting a farm like the early server transfer people did).

Okay, so there seems to be hints at a “HUGE” patch coming on Nov 15th. I’m wondering if this is going to bring some of the unfinished mini-games to the players.

I’m not saying that they’re not there, because they are. The content is as visible to anyone that passes it; it’s not not operational because it’s incomplete. Why? Most likely other content became priority. I’m slightly peeved that there was such an awesome mini-game as Reaper’s Rumble to only have it last as long as Halloween (which is now over).

So, I’m wondering if we’ll get any of these things into the game soon or if they’re a long ways away. More so, are we going to see mini-games in the Nov 15th patch? (perm ones at that).

What was the point of the 2 PvP events?

What other encouragement is there going to be to encourage our servers to attack the enemy?

Without an Orb in play, most servers sit in their little corner (1/3rd of the map) fighting exclusively at the towers and supply camps. There’s no reason to attack a heavily fortified location so far away from your server’s spawn point (other than point ticks).

Items that you’ve should have gotten:

1) Book 1 backpack

2) Book 2 Complete Edition backpack

3) Witch hat

4) Exotic Mad King Slippers (*if you completed Clocktower jumping puzzle)

Now, those are guaranteed items that have nothing to do with the random drop rate for the other things. Also, even if you did not get the Halloween Exotic weapons, you could have/should have farmed the materials to start up crafting them (seeing as how they are craftable).

This is by far the most fun, and rewarding, holiday event I’ve been in compared to any other MMORPG out there.

Will candy corn stay in-game once the event is over?

The best time I’ve done this? Mad King set a scarecrow @ where the chest spawns just before dying. So, I quickly destroyed it just as my team was trying to loot said chest. HAHAHA! Boy, where they ticked off.

Please find a way to keep Lunatic Inquisition in the game.

Um, Lunatic Inquisition is actually a lore-based reenactment of Tax Day Massacre caused by the Mad King when he was still living. It CANNOT be reskinned and/ore changed in any way shape or form. To do so would be a shun to those many that died on that faithful day lacking the funds to pay the outrageous taxes imposed on them by the Mad King.

This is unlike Reaper Rumble, which is nothing more than a joyous romp with pathing minions and destruction targets. That one can be reskinned and kept in the game, the former cannot.

Possible to make Reaper's Rumble permanent?

I’d like to see this mini-game stay for a long time…forever. There are many reasons for this.

1) It’s a mini-game, this game is lacking those (Keg Brawl and Costume Brawl..that’s it!).

2) It’s fun!

3) It’s addictive.

4) It’s unique to the game (what other DoTA style PvP games do we have?)

5) More PvP! (we need more!)

6) Asura of the Corn… (yes, being a tiny Asura and popping out of the corn with a sickle in hand, stabbing people with it…well, we’ve all seen the movies).

Sure there needs to be tweaking to it; like take out the Mad King’s voice, change the Pumpkins to magical orbs, and change the skeletons into Minotaurs or something. There we go, it’s now a year-around event that’s got flair for every season.

Anyone else want this to be a keeper post-Halloween 2012?

There are 350 of the 6 Halloween weapon skins on the BLTP.

Seriously.. I’m not sure people realize just how few that is, compared to the million or so players in the game.

However, when it comes to item rarity, those that have the few should not be people that undercut by 10-20 gold (yes, there are people undercutting by 10-20 gold!). See, if there was 4-5 of these items, they were considered “rare” and worthy of the price of 150 gold per item. People would place buy orders for 90-110 gold. But, when the Labyrinth items dropped them to where they were 90 sell and 65 buy. That got bug-fixed clearly

Now with the Mad King dungeon the item is becoming more flooded. There’s roughly 30-40 of the Arachnophobia on sell. BUT, when people are foolishly undercutting by 10 gold, the price goes from 90 to 80 to 75 to 63 to55 to 40 to 38 to 28 to 22 to 18, back up to 25, and staying around the 22 mark right now. 90 to 22 per items supposed to be so rare and special in less than a 24hr period is INSANE!

Contrary to spectators, SELL IT WHILE YOU CAN!

THey have no idea if the demand will rise or not. The more that floods in, the more that could be sitting waiting to compete with you in a month.

On Friday I had the option of selling one of these for 90 gold. I was “advised” by guild spectators to wait until after the event where it would increase greatly. Now? Now I can’t sell the kitten thing for less than 20g. And, even after the event, it’ll never raise to 90 again.

Make up your own mind, but don’t expect that Stock Trader want-a-bees are worth their grain in salt for advisement.

~~~~~~~~~~~AnthonyOrdon Game Designer—-Keep in mind that the recipes stay around, while the Ascent to Madness instance will be gone after the 31st until at least next year.

However, unless the supply stays low enough where the demand of the items peaks the price above 140 gold, it’s not going to matter. Why 140 gold? Because that’s the base price average of Lodestones required for each recipe (100 of them). I’m not including the other items, the Skill Points, and the dungeon run tokens. That’s time and effort commitment.

But, that commitment and effort becomes something made trivial by having these loaded into the market by large quantity, causing the value of them to decrease severely.

And, each day this event runs is another day for more of these items to seed into the system and drive the value of the times further down. It opened on Sunday the 28th , and the price of say Arachnophobia dropped from 90gold down to 28 gold. We have Monday, Tuesday, and most likely 12hrs of Wednesday. That’s 2.5 days more. At the rate given, I’d say that the price of them is going to drop to roughly 10gold (if that) and there will be hundreds of them on the market.

But, if they’re “only dropping during a short period, but craftable all year”, how will the ones seeded from this event no effect the long term sale of these items. I really don’t see the price of the item rising again until February to a mid of 50 gold. That maybe a stretch, but at the rate things are going, it’s looking that way.

And why not? What used to cost 100 lodestones now costs less than 30 gold. 100 lodestones = 75-140 gold minimum investment, not counting the 40 wine (another 10 gold), the Orichalcum, the Gobs, ….ya, it’s a bit of a large investment.

So, average QQ Tom who didn’t want to put the effort into crafting it will get them because he can now do trader price at a fraction of a fraction of the price for crafted.

This is the sad part of this event. I love most everything about it, save for what seems to be a chest “handout” for what are supposed to be super rare weapons. These weapons have a recipe that is 1/2 that of a Legendary.

RECIPE for Gift:
250 Candy Corn 10 Crystalline Dust 40 Elonian Wine 100 Rare Halloween Materials (Nougat = Souls, Skulls = Moon, Teeth = Spiders)

CREATING the Gift:

Gift of the Moon:

Gift of Thorns (500 TA tokens)
250 Orichalcum Ingots
20 Globs of Ectoplasm
100 Corrupted Lodestones

Gift of Spiders:

Gift of Ascalon (500 AC tokens)
250 Orichalcum Ingots
20 Globs of Ectoplasm
100 Destroyer Lodestones

Gift of Souls:

Gift of Knowledge (500 CoE tokens)
250 Orichalcum Ingots
20 Globs of Ectoplasm
100 Crystal Lodestones

Once you have the Halloween gift, you combine it with a Eldritch Scroll, 100 Mystic Coins, and 20 Superior Sigils of Night to create the final Exotic.

That’s a ton of money, time, and effort to get one of these weapons. The temporary are for ‘holiday spirit’, and the permanent. They’re no longer rare, unique, or “special” because every Tom, Dick, and Harry are getting them through the Mad King’s Chest.

What gives?

P.S. Not only this, but lots of Rampager exotic items are now FLOODING the market because of this event. The in-game economy is spiraling into a nightmare!

I’ve edited the topic and changed it around a bit. It’s no longer about the Labyrinth; though we found that was indeed a bug by their quick reaction.

HOWEVER, now we have the EXACT SAME ISSUE with the Mad King Dungeon and how people are farming that over and over and over again. The chest is usable every time, loot every time, and people are getting 3-5 exotics an hour since it started. That is NOT right and needs FIXED ASAP!

I’m bothered by the Halloween potions being account bound. Not so much the ones you get in chests, bags, and find. No, I’m talking about the ARTIFICER ones.

See, as an Artificer (of which there are few to none in my guild), we can make potions. However, most of these “special transmutation” potions are Account Bound and I cannot give to guild members. See, I wanted to craft a ton of mummy ones and run a Mummy Army through the fields in WvWvW for some hilarious fun. But alas, we cannot because I cannot hand out any potions made.

May this get changed please? I’d like to petition for it to be changed for the greater good of social interaction.

I think this is something they should consider if there is worse aftermath then expected. As in, a majority of power outage/takes longer time to get it back up. Considering a majority of the USA population lives in the North East area. :/

I have no complaints about letting Halloween run on a bit longer. I mean, there is no harm in it. Cause I doubt we will have one centered around thanksgiving or anything, at least to this quality.

Guess what, though? The USA is NOT the only country that plays this game and only makes up for 50-60% of the game’s population. The rest are in EU, Australia, Asia, South America, Canada, and so forth. Just because one storm effects a certain population, doesn’t mean that population is the center of the world.

I’m sorry for you guys, but that’s life. They’re not going to extend it for the Eskimos who are being evacuated because their land is melting due to global warming any more than they are for East-Coasters due to a storm.

I used to live in Nebraska (ya, I know) and would constantly have power outage due to lightning strikes and tornadoes taking out the lines between the power plants and my town. I missed out on 3 different events in WoW because of this, but I never begged for them to do the events again or extend them. Just learned to deal with it.

I'm a horrible person... But Mad King Thorn made me do it.

as hilarious and creative as it is, it just kind of proves my point that players shouldn’t be feared/knocked back from ledges, just like with mobs.

That’s a bad point. How else are we able to kill players in the EB Dungeon? Or, to fear people off of walls, cliffs, and other things in WvWvW. We need those kind of interactions. I’m actually saddened that mobs cannot be attacked in that way, because many of times I could have killed a mob more cleverly by throwing them off a cliff instead of smacking it for 5 minutes.

You cannot because it’s temporary. The permanent version of The Crossing (that’s the staff you’re talking about) is a crafted version that requires a discoverable recipe and about 150Gold worth of materials.

Or…you can try your luck at the chest in the Labyrinth which has a 3% chance of dropping it or one of the other two permanent Halloween weapons. One try daily though.

-`-`-`-`-`So wait, Eles have area speed buffs from their Traits? I thought those Traits only -`-`-`-`-`affected that single character. I’m a Thief, and I was getting buffs half way up -`-`-`-`-`the puzzle.

No, they don’t effect other players, only the Elementalist themselves. If we had our #4 in Air, we can effect others, but all skills are locked during the puzzle. Not sure how you got a boost.

I love the jumping puzzle Mad King’s Clocktower. It’s fun, fast, instance, and a finger on the pulse of my heart. It’s so awesome. Takes a while, and there are some spots that are just “AHHHHH!” painful; but after all that it get’s down right enjoyable.

I would like to know this as well, I’m in the same shoes. I’ve been desperately farming like crazy for candy-corn, skulls, spiders, and the like. I’ve also tried getting more gold for wine, but I know for sure I won’t have it before Wednesday. So….will it be possible afterwards so long as I have the Halloween ingredients already?

Yes, I love how they advertised the game as “endgame starts at level one”, basically levels aren’t too important, then a holiday comes out and they screw low level players.

How so? Lower leveled players can…

1) Participate in getting the first book of the Mad Mind

2) Compete in both the mini-game PvP’s of the Inquisition and the Reaper’s Rumble

3) Participate and complete the Clock Tower jumping puzzle

4) Mine for candy corn

6) Costume Brawl

So…just because they can’t do EVERYTHING, doesn’t mean that lower level characters are being cast out of the events. They’re just limited to that they can’t fight the level 80 Champion (Labrynth), or due the 2nd book section. So what?

I second, third, forth, fifth, sixth, and seventh this idea! I was actually going to make a thread about this very thing of requesting a permanent version.

It’s a mini-game, after all, and this game said it’d have dozens of mini-games (of which it currently only has the Norn’s Keg Brawl). This should be a permanent mini-game.

I’d like to know whether it’s currently bugged and therefore an exploit, or if it’s legit like this.

See, most other worldly chests like jumping puzzles reset once daily and are not accessible within the same 23hrs. This is to prevent excessive farming and inflate supply while deflating value.

With these chests in the Mad King Dungeon, they’re not locking players out. Each and every time the champion is up, players can (and do) fight for a new chest filled with goodies. This wouldn’t be bad if it was just trick-or-treat bags, blue gear, green gear, candycorn, potions, or what have you; but it’s bad because it’s 1-2 Exotic items.

1) Is there a bug or exploit happening here that we instead should have us avoid doing said event more than once a day?

2)Or is it legit and shall we farm our heart’s content?

Yet another failure & disappointment.

1) You try to work in a fix to all the complaints that the personal story rewards at the end aren’t rewarding enough, but yet you decide to mix that in amongst all the Halloween event garbage at the same time.

2) Then you completely fail to execute that plan by giving everyone a token without an accessible vendor.

3) Then you push a new build to resolve that problem a day later. Amazingly, it worked. We approach the vendor with our purple token, only to find the NPC only offers up rare quality weapons.

4) For the amount of effort folks put into completing the personal story quests & killing Zhaitan with a capable group, this is not what we had in mind when everyone told you the rewards for completion were lacking.

5) I recognize the bonus is the skins are unique, and even can be traded or sold for ~2G, but is that what we really wanted?

1) Your point is already lost and coming off as ‘rude’ and ‘snide’ when you decide to call the Halloween event stuff “garbage”. Many other players enjoy that content and love it; just because it’s not your thing doesn’t mean it’s “garbage”.

2) That was a slight error. Humans make errors, it’s part of being human. Even robots and machines make errors, it’s part of being made by humans.

3) Yes, they’re rare! Did you expect Legendary weapons from completing Zhaitan? As for whether they should be Exotic quality, I’m tossed on a coin here. Sure it would be nice, but getting an Exotic weapon through crafting and/or WvW Honor Badges gives meaning to both those things. Crafting Exotics would be made futile and pointless if they could just be gained as easily as killing Zhaitan and becoming the temp-savior of Tyria (ya, it was pretty easy).

4) The rewards were a 1K Guild Influence scroll and 3 random greens. I’d say a rare weapon of choice + a skin that cannot be found anywhere else in Tyria is a major step up for rewards. Also, see #3 in that I mention that killing Zhaitan was not hard and it’s a cakewalk (even with the new fixes that makes the fight a nightmare).

5) This I’m confused about. I know the Halloween skins are able to be sold on the TP by players, but these skins don’t seem to be. Unless there’s some bug/oversight, they’re bind on acquire. Again, there might be a bug related to it. But, I’m sure that’ll be changed.

It says on the main page that the halloween stuff kicks off today (22nd).

Got up early (its 8am) to have a look and explore and open the chests, but cant see anything different Do I need to download something new?

But my main question is can I now start opening my chests to find a possible halloween gift? Or do I have to wait for this download or whatever it is? I dont want to waste my chests.

8am your time really doesn’t matter. To no offense, because none was meant. The time and matter is when Arena.net updates their servers and decides when the game updates. Whether that’s 22nd in Hawaii or the 22nd on the Moon.

Their servers run PST, which is to say that right now it’s 11:51pm PST on the 21st as I type this. So, it’s not the 22nd to them yet.

You can’t please everyone all the time. Disappointment or not for some people, these events will happen set up however Arena.Net set them up to be (and it looks like they only last a day or two each).

From the way the Acts are scheduled, it looks as if each Act can be done by players (repeatedly) over the 2-4 day period before the following Act. However, ju7st as a storybook, one act must close so that another opens.

Heck, I know Arena.Net has said multiple times that people should definitely want to log-in on the 28th mid-day and “not miss the one-time, special event” that will happen there.

P.S. I was there for the event that you’re talking about. The Rift opening of the fight against the chick sidekick for Regulos. This was far more hectic being on a PvP server. It does suck that hundreds to thousands missed it, but also thousands experienced it too.

Question about the Acts and the dates.

If we miss the date range between some acts will we be able to still do them at a later date?

I’m going out of town on the 25th and wont return till the around the 30th. So does that mean I will miss acts 2 and possibly 3 completely, or will I still be able to do the act 2 and 3 content say on the 31st after act 4 is online?

I think that they’re progressive, LIVE, one-time things. So, as to say that when they happen and you miss them, you’re kind of out of luck. I know, that sucks and all. But that is the effect of an ever changing online MMORPG. The dev’s even said before that they’d make single-occurance events that won’t happen again; I think these are a test of that.

I have theories on the weapon skins that will be there. It’s only clear that well used cross-class weapons will match it. So, I’m thinking Focus (a lantern or jack-o-lantern type). A staff (don’t know how, but it’ll be there). A sword (I think that’s the chainsaw thing in the post linked above). A dagger (bone dagger?). A shield (with the face of the Mad King?). A torch (a candle?).

But, I have concerns, which follow below…
Questions related to it:

1) I’ve got 55 chests in my bank right now, will they still have that chance, or only new chests gained?

2) What’s the odds of getting a key or two out of the event(s) through participation?

3) Was the 50/50 odds of getting a new key of a chest opened by an old key dropped significantly? I’ve opened 12 chests in the past week, not a single one had a new key.

Dyes - Make them Account-Wide and Add an Achievement

I’m a dye collector and I have invested a lot of time and gold into dyes. I have about 90% of the dyes unlocked on my character at the moment. I really love collecting dyes and I have had guild members help me by linking all the dyes they pick up and asking if I already have it.

However, the lack of the two features mentioned in the title really gives me no incentive to try to complete my collection. I hope that ANet adds an achievement for unlocking all the dyes (there is no reason for them not to). Also, please make dyes account wide. The sooner you make this change the better, because there will be fewer people complaining that they had unlocked the Abyss dye on multiple characters. The process of unlocking all dyes is very costly and I see no reason to having to do it on every character separately.

Two reasons this cannot be done:

1) Dyes are a craftable by cooks, thus is would dry up their crafting use and make them worthless.

2) Dyes drop a lot and are also a requirement of Legendary weapons. Because of this, the demand/supply needs to be balance evenly. If 5 characters for 1 person needs a single dye each, the demand stays high, the price stays high, and the economy balances out. However, if that one person needs only a single dye, you’ve eliminated the demand by 4/5ths (not just on that one person, but by everyone). That would mean that price for dyes would go from 5silver each to 1silver each. Not good.

There are 5 other major cities in Tyria. Why not go to one of them with your guild and I’m sure you’ll all get in.

I don’t understand why it has to specifically be Lion’s Arch that you go to. I surely understand why it’s a central hub with most of the Asura Gates being there, including those that go to the Mists for WvW and sPvP. However, you’ll not need those portals if you’re doing a holiday event. Also, it’s just an extra Asura Gate travel from one of the other main cities to this Lion’s Arch.

My recommendation: Rata Sum or Divinity’s Reach. RS doesn’t have bars or large halls like DR does.

Tell me, why do you think that dungeons and/or raids (which this game lacks any instanced form of the latter) is “one of the biggest selling points of GW2”? From my understanding on how they sold this game pre and post launch, it was about the 10th thing down on the list.

Here’s a list of main selling points for GW2 that are higher up on importance than dungeon crawling:

-World vs World

-sPvP

-Exploration

-Crafting

-Jumping Puzzles

-Personal Story

Where can a person get the best (Legendary) weapons in-game? Through crafting, not dungeons. Sure, you need 500 of a single token to get the item needed to craft the legendary weapon, but that’s only a small part of it overall.

Also, LFG tools are bad for this game. Why? Because how else will people participate for the fight for the Gates of Arah if they’re not there but instead in a city hitting the “queue for Arah” button all day. Ya, those things are bad because they enable laziness in a game that’s already rather easy.

Lancer would a good one, but …lacking the horse it’s kind of hard to pull off.

I’d think a newer-style class should be made for this game.

Think…Archeologist. That’s a class that would be awesome. They use abilities like “tunnel” to get dig down and get behind the enemy. There’s also “ancient curse”, “wrath of the mummy”, “rock of doom”. And the weapon? A whip! Yes! Okay, sure they can use spears as well. And there’s also Focus, Torch, Scepter, Dagger.

The Archeologist class would also get to make fields that slow (“Quicksand”) and other fields by use of Ancient Tablets thrown to the ground. The elite could be something like “Secret Of The Dwarfs”, which would grant Dwarven strength and a stone hide for a while (almost like Elixir X for Engineers).

I’m sure that Arena.Net’s programmers can work up much better abilities and ideas for it, but it’s a great concept that other games don’t have (as far as I’m aware of).

I enjoy underwater combat. It’s fun, crazy, and insane. That is..until they nerfed the Whirlpool skill. But, even after that got nerfed, water combat still got fun.

Why isn't supply carried by players?

I’d like the idea of player-ran supply, so long as supply disappears off the player when they log out. See, the issue right now is that I can run up to a supply camp, grab supply, and log out: on all 6 of my characters.

That would mean that I myself can take 60 supply to a tower in the matter of the time it takes to log-in/log-out and load the map. So, the mechanic of allowing players to supply upgrades instead of just Dolyaks would be defeated by players carrying supply outside the WvW zone when logged. This is only fixed by making supply disappear when a player logs out.

But yes, it would be nice if players were able to supply the keep and tower upgrades. Because then we’d see players traveling to and from much more, defense would have more progression, and people would be training instead of clustering.

When exactly is this “fix” going to happen? This started near the 8th, a comment from A-Net on the 9th (1 week ago), and now NOTHING. I’m sorry if I’m angry, but this is ruining my daily runs and item/blueprint farm. How am I supposed to siege without supplying blueprints?
