I have 14 chars.
And out of the 14, only my Ranger have the “best” luck of all. She has netted me 3 pre-cursors so far.
Spark, Venom and The Hunter (from the Mystic Toilet and a dungeon chest)
My Ele (first char for my account) is probably the second best “luck” char. She has netted me multiples Exotics and rares, even from a lowly enemy such as a crab or deer.
My second ele gives me kittens drops.
My only Necromancer/Reaper will drop occasional Exotics. Maybe once every 100 world boss or meta boss kills. (Just a rough estimate, I don’t keep accurate counts, just be warn)
My first Mesmer gives me kitten drops but not as worst as my second Mesmer.
My Chronomancer is the worst with only bonus box rares with the occasional rares from bosses.
The others, well, lets just say I rarely use them due to them giving me whites, blue and greens most of the time.
So, you tell me if there isn’t a luck factor in a character…..
I don’t hate this game because of HoT. However, I can’t be kittens to care about The Legendary Journey. It’s more like “Pay me gold, and here is your shiny new Pre-cursor” journey".
I am not asking for Pre-cursor to be easy, but making it not worth the effort, I would rather just buy it off the TP. I think this is what ANET was trying to do in the first place. Forced people to buy gold from the TP to buy the Pre-cursors. Making the “Legendary Journey” a chore rather than a real adventure.
I did my Bifrost I and it was fun running around Tyria finding the items and location needed.
Then came the crafting part, and I looked at the materials needed and it was rather “OP”.
Then I gave up and now back to playing whatever I want.
It is just isn’t worth it to waste materials on something that I could have sold them, grab the gold and go buy The Legend off TP. (So far, I refused to do that, and now I am grinding to get as much materials as I can so that I can do whatever I like with them. ) :P
Anyway, HoT to me is ok. 5/10. I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it either….

Honestly, HoT did not fail. But it wasn’t great either. I would say it is in the middle.
The good thing about HoT is the glider. And if Anet is going to bring gliding to Core Tyria, all the better. Let’s not say it will trivialize JP’s in core Tyria. How many times can you glide upwards?
The bad thing about HoT is the same thing core Tyria is experiencing. Grinding. :P
Ummm, what? where do you get this information? this is just speculation…also I think Glint egg is meant to help the Sylvari… in their corruption… to be the vaccine or antidote of the poison of the Dragons… Meh, better wait and see I guess…no sense in debating this here…
It’s just speculation at this moment, but there is a tool in storytelling that writers overused. it’s call the TWIST. Variation of TWIST has happened before and in Tyria, everything is about doom and gloom. Because that is the only way to move the storyline (in ANET’s perspective). So, I guess that after killing all the Elder Dragons, there is always something that will balance the force. Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Glint’s egg….etc…..

Every character has a number, that number determines your RNG. That is the only speculation I could think off after about 100kills on Teq since Teq rising. And……I have not gotten any hoards, ascended chest, not any kitten minis. I only got SPOONS and BONES and RUNES. That’s it. Now, even worst after HoT, I am getting BROKEN SPOONS.
Pocket Raptor literally dies in 1 hit. My ele just shout them to death without stopping. And my ele is glass. I tried and they literally killed my ele in 2 hits. But my ele can wiped out 2 groups without using 1,2,3,4,5 of my skill bar. I only use shouts. fire and shock. I usually just run pass them though. Since they don’t drop loot.
Well, that works for one group – in AB you have 4 or 5 groups in a row and I wonder how the timer ratio between cooldown and respawn is
If you are spec like my Ele, first hit will get a flameburst or something. It’s a rune thing. Then that fire shout and the shock shout. And at least 80% of 2 groups will be dead. Then that evasive arcana dodge in fire attunement, and you get another group that is on fire. And my ele is using runes that prolong fire duration, so, most of them will die from the fire…….
It may not be a 100% good idea to run WvW as a soccer league, but it at least makes the server go “hired” WvW guilds to come join in the fun.

Blackgate vs What is that server again that won because of another server refusing to attack them …can’t remember.
Match 2
Tarnished Coast vs Dragonbrand
Match 3
Maguuma vs Northen Silverpeaks
and so on.
Then next week, next match up on the table.
Don’t do it WvWvW because that server that won because of another server refusing to attack them gained the win because Blackgate was overwhelmed by too much bodies.
Also, with WvW, limit the maps population for each server so that zerging can be limited. Zerging will still happen, but it will be costly if played wrong.
And make it that holding a point, castle, fort actually gives out more points than if you flipped it after the cooldown.
Like this 1 hour holding on to a fort, the server gets 100 points. If the server keeps it for another hour, it gets 200 points.
However, if it flips after the cooldown, only 1 point and so on if it continuously get flipped after cooldown.
And PvD is like 1 doorhp per hit. Eles with AOE gets 2 doorhp per AOE. That way, you need like 1 hour or more just to PvD. And the Doorhp is like 1million. :P
And remove all guild buffs on WvW. Make all servers that goes into a match up even. If a server cannot afford to get more people on the map, then it gets a slight buff.
Another way is to make a matchup not 1 week, but only for 1 day. Just like a sporting match.
Then at the end of the league, the top 6 from NA go matchup with the top 6 from EU and if possible, with the top 6 from China…….
Well, this is just a suggestion.
They are poorly thought out mob packs for the simple fact that some classes like elementalist can stomp them with AoE and others like Rev have it rough as nuts.
My revenant didn’t even need to use any 1 to 5 attacks. Just use Legendary Dwarf that hammer turning around your body skill and see them fall. :P
Or Malyx skill that create something like a well, and you will also see them fall…..
Sorry, I am rarely on my Revenant, so I can’t remember the skill name, but I don’t have any problems with taking out the pocket raptors.

What you are suggesting will make leveling mastery too easy. If I want to max out Exalted mastery, then I just hang out in Auric Basin and continuously do the event or find the strongboxes and mastery points to level up the mastery in a few hours or just a day or two.
That is not what Arenanet wanted. They put like 3million XP points on tier 4 mastery to get people to grind out the XP to prolong the experiences. What you are suggesting is making is easy to get a certain mastery leveled at a decent pace which would shorten the grind.
I don’t think ANET wants that.

As far as Glint’s ‘minions’, the forgotten, who are usually portrayed as her servants, she was actually HER minion, because THEY liberated her for Kralkatorrik. I would argue that she was following the forgotten’s plan more so than making her own. She seemed to have an ability to predict the future, that the forgotten tapped into. Together, Glint and the Forgotten, made the long term plans that are apparently in effect now. But mind you, Tarir was engineered by the Forgotten, NOT GLINT. She’s part of the plan.

The game has become very frustrating and not fun lately there are simply to many things that I want to get changed that I would be better off playing a new game.
•Make everything viable
every skill, status, rune, sigil, trait, etc should be viable
•Elimination of passive trait/rune/sigil activation
Stuff that just randomly activates promotes unskillful play
•Elimination of conditions on auto attack
This game has way too many conditions flying around. Never in my gaming life have I seen so many conditions being applied to me over and over and over
•Condition rework
Conditions should be just that, a condition… not something that melts your hp bar but rather a form of controlling your opponent
•Traits rework
Trait lines should be eliminated and traits need to be individualized for better balance and create more build diversities
•Animation rework
Most of gw2 animations are awkward, recycled, outdated feel lackluster
•Dual wielding rework
Dual wielding is almost non existent in gw2. Sure I can use 2 weapons but that doesn’t mean im dual wielding. Closest profession that comes to dual wielding is thief
•Rune/Sigil rework
RNG procs and threshold procs need to go. Also runes and sigil need to have more flavor and unique animations sigil of geomancy and hydromancy come to mind
•Build Templates
Long overdue…
•Skills need to be aimed or ground targeted
This forces the player to be focused when fighting
•Elimination of instant cast skills on target
I just hate when out of nowhere I instant get deleted without having a slight chance of reacting
•Skills need to be telegraphed
If skills are animated properly players can know how to react to certain skill
•Skills need to have counter play
No skill should be absolute and should have some way of counter play
•Promote active gameplay
passive gameplay is just brain dead and unskillfull
•Combo field rework
Combo fields are lacking and some do the same things leaping a smoke field gives stealth so does blasting it.
•AI rework
There is simply too much stuff going on on my screen clones, phantasms, minions, spirits, spirit weapons, turrets, gyros, pets… ps you should be able to hide your pet permanently with ranger
•Melee and range combat rework
As it stands range combat is simply more rewarding and less dangerous than melee specially in the new maps
•Meaningful rewards
Ioot in gw2 is certainly the worst loot I’ve ever seen in any mmo killing stuff simply doesn’t feel rewarding. I remember back in some other mmo killing the same mob over and over just to get a certain armor upgrade that only that creature dropped and when that armor upgrade dropped I felt that sense of accomplishment. Loot in gw2 is simply all over the place and has no real meaning its just bag inside bags inside bags and trash inside more bags.
Let’s make a new game from scratch while you are at it……
I didn’t see a suggestion forum, so I’ll leave this here.
I know this is a bold proposal, and I know that often people react blindly, negatively, and with great vigor to big proposed changes, but this I have to say:
I’ve been playing my ELE for a month now, taking my time doing Staff solo PvE going from 1 to 55 (so far). I have analyzed and I have tried out strategies in game, and I find Staff/Fire to be very useful – and it’s a good thing too, since I am very squishy. If Staff/Fire were less effective, I would simply be dying a lot more, in advance of a rage-quit. ;p
So Staff/Fire works pretty well to get me through the game. And whenever I switch away from Fire, I get locked out of it for what seems quite some time. Enough time that even though I’ve tried to move through the other elements to include them in my rotation, I finally gave up and just use Fire.
So it got me thinking, why even have ANY attunement recharge? I can understand using it in certain circumstances – overloading an attunement via Tempest, for example – I’m not suggesting that be changed. But in general use, why even have it? Would it be so game breaking if ELE’s could swap between the four attunements at will? I honestly don’t think so.
Removing attunement recharge (apart from special circumstances like Tempest) would encourage us ELEs to branch out of our preferred element. If you want to keep a minor recharge – like the length of time after swapping to a second element that you have to wait before swapping to a third(1.5 sec?) – I don’t think that would be terrible, but as an ELE, I think you would want to encourage people slipping back and forth through the elements. Right now, I stay in fire and it gets the job done – and I don’t have to worry about being locked out from access to my fave element.
Just one person’s opinion. And now, this being the internet and all, let the flaming of my proposal begin! ;p
Easy, do it just like me. DON’T ever change attunements. I did for Year 1 and year 2…before learning how to change it in early year 3 of the game…….
Well, after I get my Bifrost, I really won’t even care about it even more. It’s not as if it is game breaking or anything. Unless ANET starts nerfing it to say blast only 1 char at a base damage of 50…or something, then start panicking…
I am on the same boat with you, I really felt like new maps are making me a better player. I’m a thief aka squishist thing in game. At first I was like this is stupid I keep getting one shotted how is this possible but after changing my stats and learned mob mechanics I rarely dies. Complex and maze like maps are so fun to explore, I never saw the point in exploring old maps simce they offers 0 challange other than time while HoT maps require actual thinking to get done.

I didn’t even bother to donate to my guild at all. They will probably kicked me one day, but I do not care anymore. Donating is taking out resources that I need to make my ascended gear that I am forced to make in order to join a raid team, if not, they won’t even consider you if you are on exotics. And I am an ele that hits hard, I still need to squeeze out that 5% extra damage in order to get into a raid teams…..

You need a better computer or a better graphics card. That VB mastery in the ship in the sky is easy. I did it in 2 tries. The first time I mis-jumped at the last part and fell and my character died. And I couldn’t get back up due to it was daytime.

Weeeeeell if GW1 is any indication, Anet actually likes having the player ruin everything: Collected a group of chosen that would later be sacrificed, gave the Scepter of Orr to the White Mantle, helped the Lich get the Scepter, helped releasing the Titans, broke the seal that held Palawa Joko and helped a xenophobic institution commit genocide on it’s own people. That’s just off the top of my head.

Mastery is pretty much garbage.
Precursor crafting is garbage.The new class is fun, the maps and art are amazing, the map wide events while some have issues are fun. But it doesn’t offset the above problems. The abandonment of dungeons, fractals, and wvw doesn’t give me much to stick around for.
With the Overwatch beta and FO4 I struggle to find a reason to log in.

Anyways, I will never preorder……. will only buy AFTER it is release…and after people reviewed it.
Here’s the thing, people play Guild Wars 2 Year 1 edition because it allows them almost limitless restrictions to where you can go, what you can do and how you do it. (About 90%)
Then comes Guild Wars 2 Year 2 edition, and it turns into almost (78%) a WoW clone. But people still love it.
Then comes Guild Wars 2 Year 3 edition and it could change it’s name into Grind Wars 2 and no one will bat an eye about it.
Of course, there are still people who have that old MMO mentality and white knight mentality that ARENANET could do no wrong. It’s like ARENANET is their god and they worship it without questions.
Now, currently Guild Wars 2 : HoT Year 1 edition can also be called Grind Wars 2 : HoT Year 1 edition.
The Mastery are forced into you when you enter HoT.
There was no forced adventures in Core Tyria maps. You can enter Fields of Ruins as a Level 2 via the portal in Divinity ’s Reach and complete some of the Heart Quest in Ebonhawke like the tearing of the posters and such. But if you step out of Ebonhawke and try to run all the way to the Summit, you may die or you may not, depends on how skillful you can avoid the enemies there and their range.
Or, you could enter Frostgorge as a level 60 and still get all the way until Rojan the Penitent (Double Agent for Jormag), and wait for Claw of Jormag and go whack it.
But in HoT, try going to Patriach Wyvern without Glider updraft……oh wait, you can’t….

I’m not sure about all of them, but I know for certain Dark Harvest for the reaper for example. You MUST finish silver in Fallen Masks adventure, So i tried it last night.

-You have to wait for the meta to complete. (so, there is no guarantee you’ll even get in the room. Plus you have 15 mins to “try” it and get kicked out.)
- Why is a piece for collection gated behind this? No choice in the matter!
-ALL THIS JUMPING PUZZLE GARBAGE NEED TO STOP.

A menu appear in front of me asking me to use my 290 hero points to train some kind of new skills. As I was trying to fight Teq. Weird thing is, Teq got burned faster after I fully trained and got 2 chests for training. Then the menu disappear and Teq was dead. Hmmmmmm

Humans are now all hole up in Elona with Palawa Joko is giving them refuge. The Sylvari are all dead. :P Mordy’s final dead kill them all. And because ANET hates Sylvari, don’t know why they even bothered with them in the first place. Oh wait, they only wanted them for the storyline plot for Mordy. Oh silly me. The Charr and Asuran’s are stuck in their homelands fending for themselves and whatever races out there are either all wiped out or scattered around the world.
GW3 starts in Elona. :P Make it so!!!!

Whatever with Mordy still been alive, it ain’t going to survive long when Glint’s baby hatch and wipes the floor on the remaining Elder Dragons…..Then turn on us the allies and wipe us out only to be save by some unknown entity that could only transport us to GW3…. :P
The only Fake Difficulty in the game is insane hitpoints for bosses. Instead of making cool attack mechanics, all they did is put 1 billion Hitpoints on the bosses and call it a day.

The irony of gating content is for ARENANET to prevent people from finishing fast, ended up, it still get finished fast by many people. And caused hardship for those trying to play the content at their pace.
So, ARENANET in their quest to stop those fast finishers, ended up backfiring. GG ANET.
It’s a freaking golem for god’s sake. She said she could build Scruffy 2.0. And don’t give me that it won’t be the same. You asked Taimi first if she is ok having a different Scruffy. and the might just answer you just like she answered your character about her building Scruffy 2.0. :P
How about you try not to die? This way you don’t have to travel back? There has to be something to “punish” dying. It wouldn’t waste your time if you got better and didn’t die correct?
Well, I tried but it’s hard to recover when you’re downed and Teq’s fingers hit you with five circles of poison simultaneously. I’m genuinely curious if you have some means of surviving that, to help me get better.
Don’t be in the zerg, be in a defense team. You won’t die from defending the turrets, unless you really suck at playing.

The design of how scribe can advance in levels is poorly designed. No other crafting profession is gated with an object(guild hall) upgrade. All crafting materials are available to every other crafting profession and don’t need to be unlocked to go beyond a certain point.
Here are the problems:
1. Too many crafting materials have too many dual/triple/quadruple/quintuple uses.
2. The quantities of certain crafting materials required are too high. Read linseed oil and sand, not to mention pulp.
3. Once you hit crafting level 50 you are stuck, unless you have unlocked a certain MASSIVELY expensive guild hall merchant.
4. Unlocking said merchant – The quantities of linseed oil alone are shocking. 20 flax per linseed oil is ludicrous(2000 flax required). Not to mention the amount of sand that is required. To make the required paper to need 1000 sand.
5. The pigments required need to have dyes – Dyes don’t drop enough.
6. Too many of the crafting materials are not material storage compatible. Reminds me of cook.
7. Add more if you want. I only touched the tip of the poorly design crafting iceberg.
I have never understood ANET way of padding the play time for GW2. If people want to get to max level in one day, let them have it. It’s not as if these people are going to go away from the game after 1 day. Time gating is just padding the playtime so that players don’t get bored after 1 day, but as we can see from HoT, people RUSHED to complete it since day 1. If they want to rush, let them rush.
I just think ANET is just buying itself time for the next update or content by time gating many things in the game. And possibly forcing people to buy gems to turn to gold or something like that….
