400 gems for a bag slot is ridiculous...

I understand that ANET has to make money (believe me, I’ve given them plenty), but 400 gems for one bag slot for one character is crazy. I think the fair thing here is to make bag slot purchases account bound.

Better than paying monthly USD15 like WoW isn’kitten And you can earn gems from farming gold in game.

I find that people having problems with Jumping Puzzle is because they have input lag. Maybe due to their mouse, old desktop, internet connection, keyboard, memory, multitasking…etc.

1. If you are using an old desktop with an old processor and no graphics card, you will not be able to do the jumping puzzle smoothly. I know because I used to play GW2 on a Core 2 Duo with a Nvidia budget graphic card. And I could not even complete one jumping puzzle, because I would not be able to make the jump when turning or doing a running jump because I would have a slight lag. My internet ping is 250-300 plus, which I learned how to compensate for, but still failed to complete any JP. Then I bought an i7 and a better graphics card, 8GB RAM and a better mouse and keyboard. And the JP suddenly was a joy to complete. In fact, I completed 50% of the JP on the first day of reinstalling GW2 on my new computer. So far, I have completed 99% of all core JPs. The only one I haven’t completed is Mad King’s Tower and Winterday’s JP.

2. Most core JP don’t have a timer on them, so take your time doing it. If you are still on an old desktop, then I suggest using a mesmer to do it. or ask someone to portal you up. If you need any help, I would be glad to portal you up without asking for a fee like others usually do.

……..
Uncategorized Fractal says hello. Mad King’s Clock Tower says hello.

Other JP don’t have mobs that knock you out from the platforms (Only applicable for FOTM 10 and above).

Activities dont work for mastery points

i ran out of HoT mastery points so i had to do some activity things to get more.
i already have no interest in doing these stupid mini games but since anet is forcing us to for mastery points i guess we have to.
about 50% of the activities don’t work for me because i play in nz so my average ping is about 200. for example i was doing the fungus rush one and i cant use the first skill because it lags out and i end up on the bottom of the map if im trying to cross a gap and the 2nd skill just straight doesn’t work, like the leap part just wont work. so i cant use the leap skills making it impossible to even get bronze on this one.
so if we have high ping are we meant to just not finish our HoT masterys, i though anet would have figured out they cant make this stuff work after the zepherite rubbish with the crystal.
and also even if you can some how make the stupid thing work it still feels like some are impossible to get gold on, do you even test these things anet.
Please remove the mastery point achmnts from activities alot of people literally cant do them.

200 ping only? I am at 300ping avg and I can do it. Only thing is it took me a while to get it all though.

Glint’s egg is going to be the savior of Tyria? I think we are getting it all wrong. Glint’s egg is going to be the Mega Villain of Tyria. And Glint was evil with the fact that Glint lied to us about her been a good dragon. Her Boss killed her because it knows that she is going to kill it and take over their place. So, Glint needed more power, she gave her egg to the Zephyrites. The Exalted are all Glint’s minions waiting for the Egg to return and hatch. Then after getting all the power it needs, BOOM. Mega Villain Dragon born. And whole of Tyria on the run. DE2.0 and us the Commander were played as FOOLS.

I am saying this because it is the only way ANET is going to continue on the storyline in GW3. If we kill all the Elder Dragon’s in GW2, who else is going to be a threat to Tyria? Naturally, Glint's Egg is going to be the next villain in Guild Wars storyline.

Another thing is, Guild Wars storyline is based on bad things happening. From Guild Wars 1 to 2 to HoT, how many bad things have happened so far? only 2 good things happened so far, as both are short lived. The next thing to happen after the good things are VERY BAD things. So, don’t count on your egg to be a good thing, because it may turn out to be Mega Bad egg in the end.

SirDrygan.1823

Hey guys, I’ve been playing since launch and have been playing GW1 since before factions. I love the game and have supported it for years. Even pushed several of my friends to start playing it recently.

But, now that I’ve completed the HoT story… I’m just tired…

I’m tired of waiting for a good story.
I’ve been reading to posts in the forums these last few days and saw that many players, like myself, are not satisfied by the plot of the story.
And that’s good, it’s important to be critical, and not instantly accept what you’re given. What bothers me (even though it’s actually a good thing) are all the other posts that discuss the theory that “mordy is still alive!”, “The egg will wake up and turn on us!”.
ENOUGH! Why are we speculating on a plot that by all means SHOULD have been a complete and coherent story about an army VS a primeval force of nature?! I don’t want a twist that M is still alive, because he’s not some comic-book villain, he’s a dragon! And taking him down should have been epic, conclusive and certain! If ANet will res him it will be bad on so many levels…

Because ANET wants to cliffhang the storyline and make more money out of the living story. It’s about earning money, not about satisfying you or me or everyone else. As long as ANET needs to earn money to pay their homage to NCsoft, to pay their bills, to pay their workers, to pay for the maintenance of the servers, to pay for their CEO’s new car/house, you will see more and more unsatisfied story. The story from Living Story season 1 to HoT was just to make people stay longer playing the game and to get them to buy GEMS. That’s all. I don’t think they even care if they resurrect Mordy just to milk out Living Story Season 3. Because they want the HoT hype to stay for as long as they can. And Mordy been alive is one plot they would make. As you can see from the story mode of HoT….. It was obvious the story for HoT is a little too short just for Mordy to be murdered so fast in just like a few days after taking down the Pact Fleet. So, are we going into another Elder Dragon soon? I don’t think so. In fact, who cares about the other Elder Dragon’s, let celebrate Mordy’s demise and forget about Primo, Karry, Bubbles and Jorgy is which are still out there. That’s what the storyline is trying to tell us or something like that.

And the fact that Glint’s egg would wake up and turn on us IS going to happen. Why? Because it would make for a twist that would continue the storyline AFTER all the Elder Dragon’s are dead. What would happen if there is no more antagonist in the game? Glint’s Egg will be the main villain after that. You just see. It will happen. Good things don’t happen in Guild Wars 2. Only bad things. And ANET let it happened since Guild Wars. And the diehard fans love it. Bad things = more money for ANET. Good things = losing money.

Request Mob Nerf: Mordrem Sniper

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: SirDrygan.1823

SirDrygan.1823

Look, here is how I play to avoid the snipers after eating about hundreds of deaths from them. In a group or in solo…

I main a glass Ele, so here is how I do it…
When you see the TARGET sign above your head, you know the sniper is shooting at you, so dodge or run out of range. Or better, run towards it and interrupt it with your skills. I usually dodge away even if there are 5 snipers shooting at me. Then cast Meteor shower, doesn’t matter if it hits them or not. Then I make a beeline towards them, dodge into them most of the time, then cast lave font on them, shout all of them. Flame burst, and 80% of the them, most are dead. Then burning retreat and see the survivors and cast another meteor.

There, it is easy.

For Necro/Reaper, just go into shroud and dodge into them and attack them with all your shroud skills. done.

I haven’t brought my guardian into HoT yet, so I don’t know how to attack sniper with a guardian. I am using staff and scepter/shield. So, I guess I would be using aegis to tank the hits and go kite them with staff 1 and staff 3 then switch scepter 2 and shield 5. something like that….

Serious, instead of complaining that the snipers are OP, try to find out how to approach them with prejudice. If they hit hard, then find out how to hit back harder.

I SAY NO TO NERFING. JUST LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! :P

Request Mob Nerf: Mordrem Sniper

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: SirDrygan.1823

SirDrygan.1823

They aren’t impossible, but they are significantly overpowered compared to their melee counterparts. Their ground DoT (fiery line) took out 5 people simultaneously in an event chain, and both me and the dude dead next to me said “they should probably bump down that sniper damage a bit” at the same time.

It’s good and all, but snipers really stick out a lot. Not to mention they are absurdly tanky for the damage they put out. I usually keep an eye out for them and kill them asap but if they aggro and do their initial snipe shot (which already takes out just under half HP even in soldier’s gear) then drop a line and you just barely don’t catch the fire line animation that follows, you’re going down.

idk, kind of curious what other players have noticed with them. Perhaps they’re there to provide a challenge, but all it takes is one of those buggers to drop a line and poof, gobs of players go down hard.

No. No nerfing. If you cannot even dodge that line, then you have some learning to play issues. I have died like 100 or more times to multiple snipers. Now I know how to whack them hard and I make a beeline for the snipers first and take them down first…… and I am using a glass to fight. So, L2P. :P

dear anet, pls b considerate to casual players

SirDrygan.1823

Dear Anet,

first of all, sorry i’m ranting here.
secondly, sorry if i’m double posting.

I’m posting this on my thoughts of your team’s comments prior to HoT’s launch that your team wants to have players to try out other build variants, and what I found that really turn me off, a casual player.

I know some hardcore players will probably flame me for what I’m going to say below.

Just some background on how long I have played GW2 (excluding GW1), and how frequent I play and what most of my time spent on during my play time, which other casual players may or may not share.

I started playing GW2 about 7 months ago, and I spent about 5-6hours a day playing, sometimes double the hours on weekends.

Each day I would spend 3-4hours on WB follow by about 1hr on fractal, the remaining time exploring tyria, map meta events, and occasionally story.

So, with the above frequency i spent on in-game contents, I finally saved enough to go for ascended armors, bought the new recipes and was really excited to try out the new Viper states.

However, when I opened up my crafting list and scrolled down to check out materials I need to craft the new ascended insignia, excitement turned to grieve, and a feeling of lost of hopes.

To craft just one of these insignia, just base on the cost of the material from TP, it’s equivalent to 300g. If to farm for the material, as a casual player, it’s going to take months.

To hardcore players, it probably will not take that long to either gather 1200g or farm for the materials, but to the casual players that wanting to try out new builds with the new stats introduced in HoT, it’s becomes extremely agonising experience of repetitive grind, which will probably end up with one of these scenarios.

  • Buy gold off 3rd party sites. (I think your team is probably well aware that players wanting to experience more of your contents may turn to this, especially with the current gem to gold ratio, which the cost of gem pretty much doubled in the last 6 months)
  • Stay in existing build, most likely Berzerker and become bored.
  • Stay in the lower grade Exotic gears, get left behind from the new harder contents because they are still getting their gears (I’m pretty sure you know what I’m talking about since your team made the comments on twitch)

This is not simply a new stat to us players, but a huge amount of investment from the players themselves, that can turn into just a single virtual copper coin with a change of design directions from your team.

so Anet, if your team want more build diversities in your player base, and wanting players to do more fun things in your game and progress onto all these additional contents in your team put so much hard work into.
Please don’t turn away from GW2’s design philosophy inherited from GW1.
Please be considerate to those players that can only play after their 9to5 work.
Please be considerate to those players that have a family to look after, and see your game a way to relief their daily stress.
Please be considerate to the health of all your players, they need to stand up, walk around and exercise a bit, have some face to face communications to their peers and families rather than glued to panel of tiny light bulbs all day.

No one asked you to make the ascended in a day. You can take your time in making it. Just like me, I am 70% there in making my first ever Legendary. At it only took me 3 years to get to 70%. So, you see, I would probably get my Legendary in 2018……

Her former boss Karry finds out of it and kills her, but she put her spirit into an egg and told those Heroes in Guild Wars the biggest lie ever that her egg is the savior when in actual fact, her egg is THE MAIN ANTAGONIST OF THE WHOLE SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! There, I said it first. Glint is the MOST EVIL DRAGON OF THEM ALL. Even the Elder Dragon’s didn’t know what hit them!!! And we the Heroes are played as FOOLS. We will be the laughing stock in GW3 when the remaining survivor’s of the massacre of Queen Glint will always remember the Zeroes of GW2 for helping the harbinger of death upon Tyria. And again we the heroes will go and kill all of them or at least try to kill of them before Ogden finds a way to sent us to the Stone Summit where Primo’s hellfire will wiped out the Pact Fleet 2.0, again we the commanders will arrive a few hours later to clean house and sent Primo packing……… and more power for Glint’s egg.

So I don’t know if this is the usual but I usually pvp or wvw and I came to notice the difference of people on pve and wvw are. I go to lion’s arch or anywhere in the pve world and ask for help only to be ignored and when they do respond they make it sound like a hassle to help out. In wvw, the people there actually coordinate and help each other out. They relay things to you just to let you know what’s going on without really asking too. It seems a much more tight knit than pve content people. Sadly, I’m starting to give up getting help on pve content and just stick to wvw. Sadly, I’m starting to give up getting help in pve and just stay in wvw. Do you guys notice any difference between pve and wvw people you’ve noticed?

You must be in a time zone when I am either sleeping or at work or in HoT. Because if I am in LA and anyone asked for help and I know how to help, I would have replied to help.

It was horrendous, not sure if players are just plain lazy/thick to even look on the mini map (yellow wagon wheel looking icon), or the top right corner of their screen (which points to them), but when you see this every day – during peak times when i’m either gathering or doing the same dailies….

It gets annoying to say the least

If a player did not finished their Personal Story….the top right corner will NOT show nearby quest. It will only show their next location for their Personal Story. Only after killing Zhaitan and stopping the Living Story, only then the top right corner will show nearby events and locations.

You probably need to realize that Mordy probably used a lot of ley-line energy to take down the Pact Fleet. Do you really think he didn’t use any energy at all? It’s like you having unlimited ammo and taking down the enemy without reloading. If that was the case, Mordy would have taken down Rata Sum and Divinity Reach without any issue as Mordy would be able to spawn hordes and hordes of Mordrem to overwhelm any army.
And from Sylvari players, it seem Mordy is continuously calling out to those Sylvari that did not get corrupted by the call. Do you really think that call does not use energy? Again, unlimited ammo situation again. And again, if that was the case, Mordy could just use it’s full power and continuously call out to all those Sylvari and continuously wear them down without any issues.

So ArenaNet listened to all the whiners who needed to be commanders and gods and whatever, and killed Trehearne… awesome. You made it clap clapclap

I didn’t asked for Trehearne to be killed. ARENANET choose the easy way out and kill him because of ARENANET’s OWN FAULT for making him seem so useless during the Personal Story. The story line during the Personal Story would have been great if they had made Trehearne more like a leader rather than a figure head. Which is what he was and still is. He did jack kittens during the fight against Zhaitan. And without consulting the commander like he used to, he sent the Pact Fleet into the Maguuma jungle to be slaughtered. Whose idea was it to sent the Pact Fleet in the first place? Even us the second in command does not know who made that decision to attack.

So, I am not so happy that he died. I am also partially glad he is gone. The Pact under us is better than him as Marshal. We took down this Elder Dragon single handed without some lousy cannons to back it up.

SirDrygan.1823

Okay so I got to the final fight where you go into mordremoth mind or whatever arcane metaphysical thingy magic you thought of to explain away your inability to write stories.

Didn’t beat it, was doing it with a friend and we were doing fine but every time I’d get f’ed by that bug where my glider won’t open. But that’s not the point.

The point is => Do you write this aiming it at 5 year olds? You story is horrible. It’s beyond horrible. Your lore, while rich, within game is non-existant.
Pre-HOT you bragged on twitch how oh watch out for the sylvari conflict (racism, deep issues). Watch out for nightmare court and how they won’t follow mordremoth, and oh boy I expected some extensive story arcs there.

What happens? Oh look, step 1 => Eir dies, Faolain dies. Eir dies why? To give Bram a bow. So god kitten pointless! That removes that Eir-Zojja tension. You could have injured her and still given him the bow while she heals?
Faolain => way worse. Where’s my nightmare court story? Where’s the depth? Where’s Faolain/Caith etc interactions? Where’s other sylvari? How does this affect sylvari as a whole? Do some accept Mordremoth? Some turn to Nightmare? Some turn soundless? Where are small stories?
My biggest fear was I’ll kill mordremoth too soon, and you’ll just declare all sylvari are happy and innocent again. So you don’t have to write /create anything about it. Well looks like that fear’s been realized, unless there’s some bomb after I beat the boss? But even if there is, I’m guessing I won’t get any quality story until LS 3, and even then I’ll be highly skeptical about it.

Most importantly – WHERE ARE THE NPC’s I CAN TALK TO?
You replaced text with Dialogue, but there’s so little of dialogue that I find myself longing for old story ways. I liked old Tyria maps, now I love them. Because there’s just so many npc’s all over with their little day to day stories and you can read it and it’s glorious.

Not only is your story stupid (sorry, but it is), full of gaping holes, and shoddy (oh look Faolain dies, okay, now lets go thru the jungle, oh look Rata Novus lets find their research => oo tension (I’m really upset it’s not a city full of Azura we can talk to btw) => oh look Taimi’s character ‘growth’ (so badly done)? Oh look her golem dead, cry people (kill another thing => JRR Martin much?) Oh look dragons have weakness yay. Very anticlimactic. Oh look lets go rescue logan/zojja. WE gonna bash mordremoth yee! Who cares we don’t know how.

Oh look, we are here. How do we kill it? Oh wait Trahearn is sylvari! Oh wait ‘insert mindnumbing metalomagicalbobbligoodity here noone understands because it makes 0 sense) we think this ’ll work! Lets go try it! Oh look yay it works (except there’s bugs so you don’t kill the thing).

The hell?
I understand you rushed this xpack but seriously, fail. Big fail.

And guess what, I can solve this for you. Introduce LORE system (look at Wildstar lore system). Scatter Journals and pages around not with just 1 sentence in them, bug pages of text. That’s how you get short stories in . That’s how you get that lore in, that depth. You could have told bucket loads of stories about Faolain, her courtiers, Caithe, and god knows who else, just through big kitten stories scattered as journals. No cutscenes needed. Those who hate reading can ignore them. Those who love story and lore will enjoy it immensely and feel there’s some substance to this.

Progression through the jungle to kill the dragon => too fast, zero substance, minimal dialogue. Disappointing.

Actually, I find it quite ok. Better than the personal story. although I would love to have a longer story. And I find the Sylvari “different” storyline isn’t much, when many NPC still same the same thing to you no matter if you are Slyvari or other races. Where is the consistency with that, I would not know.

The #1 Thing ArenaNet should improve NOW?

Skirts for Rangers & Thiefs. There is only one I know at the moment and that is the Gemstore one.

NPC that says one thing, but do another think all together. Seriously, it was that obvious in HoT…..

Instead of nerfing things, give a better solution to problems that people complaint about.

Bosses should have have 1 gazillion hitpoints to pad the play time. I would love to see some unique attack that would make people run for cover instead of standing in 1 place 80% of the time.
Example: Shadow Behemoth ground attack if you don’t destroy the 13 portals during it’s invulnerable phase should be more devastating. Instead it does nothing but a flesh wound.

Communicate more with the community. Not only when there is something good that happens, also communicate when some bad stuff are happening. I mean, keeping quiet is not quite a good idea when you have people with pitchforks storming your gates.

Have you stood under a temptest’s Lightning storm ? or Flame Storm ? Those do massive damage , While his abilities are heavy support Temptest makes a awesome Auramancer.

Don’t worry. Nerf will be incoming for Tempest Overloads. It will happened when the whiners whines about how OP the Tempest is and Arenanet actually listens to these whiners.

At this point, is there any doubt – any at all – that every single decision ArenaNet makes is designed very specifically to drive cash shop purchases? In this case, they quite clearly want to make the purchase of gems to be converted to gold to buy the materials required to obtain a precursor a far less painful route than earning one in-game.

Yup, that’s why not going to give ANET anymore money. I will still play the base game and stop when something better comes along.

Should it be because you do not believe in preordering, prefer adopting the “Wait and see” option, are not interested in HoT (yet ?) or straight up cannot afford it, is there any “Core”, or F2P players who will keep running around GW2 without the xpac ? And if yes, what will you be doing ?

I am waiting for the reviews first before I even consider buying it.

Look on the bright side, World Bosses in the old maps will have a tendency to fail now and F2P players will be screaming in say chat why the hell did we fail???

On the other hand, you will have an almost empty map for you to do your own thing without 1 gazillion players going around in a group whacking all the champs melting them before you could even get a hit in. Now you will have a chance to take on the champ solo and see how horrible your build is.

Another good thing is those entering HoT will never return because Mordy will keep them occupied with the 10 man raids and Guild Halls and such.

Will the soundless fall to Mordremoth?

Without the Pale tree to protect them, wouldn’t they be more vulnerable to falling to Mordremoth? Also, wasn’t Aerin Soundless? And if he was had he turned to Mordemoth? Was that why he went mad?

I think the Soundless already turned long time ago…. they were just waiting for their time.

Modremoth is smart or stupid? (recent events)

in Lore

SirDrygan.1823

Unless Anet has taken back their statement that HoT takes place 24 hours after Season 2’s ending (with all the dialogue added with LA’s restoration and this event, plausible), then it’s unlikely that this event is ‘canon’ – and if it is, it’s likely a one-time event that happens almost immediately after the Pact Fleet’s destruction.

If you take note, except for Diessa the three zones are along the placement of Mordremoth’s vines that assaulted the waypoints at the beginning of Season 2 (which ended with Episode 4’s release). So technically Mordremoth already had some presence in those routes. But this presence doesn’t exist in, e.g., Divinity’s Reach (only city where tendrils popped up was Lion’s Arch – which has had a new ground foundation added to be less than pure dirt like Concortia and Salma’s ground).

Then there’s how one of the Researchers state a theory about where Scarlet attacked and where Mordrem pop up.

On the topic of ‘smart or stupid’ – let me ask you this:

Is it smart to assault a large populated location when you’re not fully prepared yet, just because you can? Or is it smarter to wait in the distance, make yourself a known but not immediate threat, and gather your strength so that when you do assault said large populated location there’s no chance for them to be victorious?

The attacks on Fort Salma, Concordia, and The Grove while devastating and with enemy casualties were ultimately unsuccessful for Mordremoth. So why would he antagonize the entire human, norn, asura, and charr races by assaulting their capitals and largest population centers?

A lot of people ask “why don’t the Elder Dragons just wipe out the capitals/races/leaders/etc.” but honestly… what would that accomplish if they failed? High gain, yes, but also high risk. And Elder Dragons don’t play a zero sum game.

And Mordremoth didn’t plant the Pale Tree or the sylvari. And besides that, the Pale Tree was planted 250 years ago not 25.

Sorry about the Pale Tree years. I thought it was 25 years ago…..

Anyway, let’s assuming that Mordremoth is not ready to fight a full fledge war. Yet, it still insist of sending it’s spawners to attack these locations and failed eventually if the storyline is canon. It’s just the same as sending this spawners to spawn in DR, The Grove and Rata Sum. They still get cut down, but it will also cut down on the amount of people that could fight it. Like Culling the heroes in these cities. That would be much more strategic rather than just randomly spawning in the middle of no where. Like in Brisban Wildlands, where there are more Bandits. In Dieasa, it is helping the Charr take out the separatist and Char renegades. These people don’t care two hoots about fighting an Elder Dragon unless they are been cornered.
However, it would be different if Mordremoth attacked lik DR and take out a number of Seraph and hero type NPCs. Or even take out Queen Jennah (assuming it is not her illusion or even Countess Anise’s herself). It would be a big blow to morale for the people of Tyria. And don’t forgot, people like that corrupt minister Cadeuse would take the opportunity to unsurp the throne for himself and cause chaos between themselves. Isn’t this a better strategy than just attacking out of no where?
That is why I said, Mordremoth seem stupid for attacking no where rather than important location.
Even if it failed to destroy The Grove, it managed to weaken it. Another attack would have complete the job for the traitor Pale Tree. Yet, it did not do anything and sent an army to Brisban , Dieasa, Kessex…..

Mordrem Invasion - 5 and proud

This is mostly a thank you to the folks who aren’t running, tagging then afk’ing.

I only get 5 blooms per event map because i stay until the infestation site is clear. I rez the fallen and build the catapults. Many times i have arrived at an infestation to see 30 people. After a few seconds of fighting , i look around and see only a few of us left. On some occasions only me, to fight the horde at that battle.

I know i could run and tag , but it seems wrong. It seems motivated by greed. I prefer to play the event as it was intended.

I want to thank those people who have helped me build, who have stayed when the zerg ran off and who have rezzed Me when I have fallen. We don’t get blooms for playing support, but i hope our efforts are appreciated. I know i appreciate it.

Those of you reading this, Thank You.

as a snarky after note: I wonder how many taggers and afkers are buying the selfless potion.

You probably haven’t meet any of those who want maximum rewards in the shortest time ever. I have. They kicked me from the group (not this event), because I was hanging out in another map doing another boss, but they were prepare to do another boss in a different map, which I would have time to go there after I am done with the world boss on my map, but they couldn’t wait and was like “Kick him or I walk.” kinda attitude. I ended up on the same map and the boss is still about 10 minutes away. LOL.

SirDrygan.1823

Let’s assume that Modremoth had a plan when it wants to invade Brisban Wildlands, Kessex Hills, Dieasa Plateau…etc..
If it can just spawn it’s Spawners anywhere and anytime, why it didn’t just attack Divinity’s Reach?
Zhaitan attacked Claw Island because it knows that Claw Island is the gateway into Kryta for being near Orr. But it’s problem with it’s army is that they have to be transported via bone ships and Dragon’s champion. And it already know that it can’t rely on just Dragon Champion because the heroes whoop Teq good and proper.

But Modremoth is a different case, it already shown that it can attack with vineswrath’s anywhere anytime and any location. Yet it still does not go for the main location where it can make an impact and go for places like Brisban where there is hardly anything there that is worth a kitten.
So, I am willing to say Modremoth is really stupid for not going for the more important locations, yet it is also smart for planting it’s minions 25 to 30 years ago.

So, what do you all think about Modremoth compared to Zhaitan? Who is smarter in the storyline?

All sylvari heard the call?

in Lore

Now the question is, those that were near Modremoth turned while those further away heard the call but did not turned. Then, wouldn’t it make less sense if player characters enter the Maguuma Waste nearer to Modremoth, and do not turned. How those that make sense in the Lore? We already know that Ventari’s will/tablet is not foolproof as the Sylvari in the Pact all turned. I am suspecting that Laranthir is a mole as it also had already turned.

Mordrem Invasion Update: 11 September 12:30 PM

SirDrygan.1823

Will try to be as detailed as possible without activating berserker. Long post incoming.

The Bad Things

  • The time between the events are too long, we are after all being invaded by a Elder Dragon and it’s like “ooh the mighty forces of Tyria have defeated my forces! I will now DRINK TEA FOR HALF AN HOUR! Then i will invade again!”.
  • The rewards for doing this is way too punishing, three hours of wait and tagging and we get rewarded with 45 blossoms at most, some people get none (imagine the lowbies, how can they even get time to tag mobs or dash out the damage needed to be registered that they have dpsed a mob to get rewarded).
  • “Guild Wars 2 reward the player to play with others” Now that is not working here, stick to the zerg and aim to reach 20 stacks in 30 minutes? It’s not doable imo, the way to do this event is to go full rouge, avoid commanders, tag mobs then leave and let others finish the event. It’s not fun, i don’t like it – but what are my/others options if they want the 15 blossoms.

The Good Thing

  • The rewards from the vendor is okay, its giving the players to buy the skins for gold instead of gems, its cheaper and i find it better – even for a new player.

How I Would Adress Thease Issues

The event has to be EPIC, this is another attack by the Jungle Dragon on Tyria, we have seen what it has done in it’s first attack on Tyria with it’s vines and now we get to keep him at bay to not let him destroy more of our world, our heritige, our homes.

I would keep that thought in my mind and keep in mind that it has to breath, it has to live, it has to feel like a invasion, it HAS to feel that we are being under attack by a Elder Dragon.

First thing that i would do is to reduce the event time from 30 min to 20 min, and instead of having individual stacks like we got now, i would add a “Map Stack” this would calculate all events we finish during that 20 minutes. Rewards would be equal to all, teamwork would be rewarded once again.

Rewards would be the following

10 events completed by map = 10 blossoms
20 events completed by map = 15 blossoms
30 events completed by map = 20 blossoms
40 events completed by map = 25 blossoms
50 events completed by map = 35 blossoms

Usually you average 35-40 events on 30 minutes. This would add a bit of a challenge, cooperation between commanders and the “taggers” atm would have to finish the random events they port to just to contribute

Easy way for this would be that the roamers go for shield events (they got fixed locations when they spawn so they spawn at the same spot everytime) the commanders with zergs head to catapults and bombs. This way it would create a good flow on events and all would be rewarded equally, now the argument might be “i do more work and being rewarded with the same amount as the one that did one event” well that happens, leechers are everywhere – who had most fun in the end is what matters.

Secondly is that i would remove the break times between the three events. As soon the 20 minutes are done in Brisban it should start RIGHT AWAY in Kessex for 20 minutes, let them try to overwhelm us – let us rally on the run on who is running where. Once Kessex is done, it starts in Diessa right away too for 20 minutes.

Once all these is done, what i would have added is that i would add that Modrem Guard that are in the beta (he has to have some purpose in Heart of Thorns right? Let us get familiar with him! He has plently of uses before we meet him, considering that HoT is future, and adding him in the present atm would be okay, we dont kill him now – we just defeat him then he can just escape by hugging a vine that pulls him down in the earth as a retreat or something… something..) I will add a picture of him to this post. Anyway, HE would spawn in any of the three maps we just did events in, let him be like a minor boss to defeat, like a world boss. By defeating him i suggest this as rewards

  • A big event chest as we usually get, contains random stuff like blues, greens, rares (almost like vinewrath got atm)
  • 10-15 blossoms
  • As for the event reward (the bronze, silver, gold) we get exp, karma, silver like normal events, this will feel a bit more rewarding for new players too.

After this has happend, we did events, the guard is drawn back to the planning board – Tyria is safe for another 90 minutes. Then it happens again.

I would also let the event run for 1-2 weeks instead of 4 days. This would let people have time to get the things they wanted and not to let them gamble with their personal health by farming 24/7 to get the rewards.

This would “de-reward” the items a bit, but what gives? As more content comes, new items come, people will replace the armor they get here with “cooler” things, new people come and come back and value will rise of the items again. In the end, all are the winners.

As adressing the disconnecting people are having i cant say much on that, to be honest – this happens in spvp, world bosses and you get nothing by dcing there and logging back in most of the cases, so i think nothing can be done on that front. If there was something to be done there, i guess we would have seen it in-game already for spvp and world bosses

This is just my opinion, many might not agree with me on this, but i think this would make this event better.

You can give suggestion all you want, but ANET is not going to waste time fixing a limited time invasion event that ends on Monday or Tuesday. That last invasions by Scarlet already gave them a lesson, they never did learn from that one.

Teq should fail more often

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: SirDrygan.1823

SirDrygan.1823

I always join defense teams during Teq runs. If there is none, I will start one. But people hardly want to join. And yeah, people are ignoring the defense of the turret thinking Teq will melt because they have 100 people in the zerg. And some didn’t even bother to go for the megalaser defense. I see people standing at the beach waiting while the rest runs to the defense of the megalaser’s charging units.

Yup, I agree. Teq should fail more often either by making the mob spawn elites and champs more during the first Teq phase or make the Megalaser really squishy and even some normal mobs will take lots of it’s health away, forcing people to go do the defense if they want to get the loot. And improve the loot drops. Getting 1 gazillion spoons is seriously ridiculous, when those not doing anything may get the hoard due to RNG while the rest all get spoons, the useless rune or the equally useless tooth or bone.

Also, I would be there 1hour early just to get a spot on a good map. If you go in 30mins before time, you may end up in a map with less people and that map may fail if people start getting taxi into other maps. And taxing is really risky. You may get taxi into an even worst map. I know because I was taxi into a map with 5 people standing at the turrets 1,2,3. And they are actually also trying to get into another map. Some players just put up LFG just to troll.

Some people were saying this about The Bifrost last night at PoI. Personally i doubt that many thieves want that staff to make it’s price rise much more steeply than the others’.

Why not? Plenty of them using rainbow shortbow and clown pistol already, might as well get the rainbow staff too!

The rocket it ready to roll……. ready to pay an insane amount of gold for The Legend……in fact, it should hit 5000k gold before October 23rd. I predict…..

I´ll wager 1 Legend that it wont.

I would love to take you on that wager, but I don’t think you even are serious about it. And I do not want to get The Legend any other way than ingame, either I get really lucky with a dungeon chest or The Mystic Toilet decided that it is time for me to get another pre-cursor after hours and hours of greens and blues.. and some occasional yellow. So far, the mystic toilet have gave me 2 pres and I got most useless pre from a dungeon chest during year 1.

I am dead serious.
And dont worry, you wont get a legend from me because 5 million gold for 1 precursor will never happen. Even if you mean 5k instead 5000k gold, i would still take that bet.

I was just exaggerating on the 5000k gold. :P
It’s just to show that pre-cursors like The Legend is going up insanely and the drop rates is so very low, it is impossible to get it by any other means other than dropping tons of rare staff into the toilet bowl…..
And now with Thieves getting staff…… the price is going to be even more insane!!!
Don’t worry, I really won’t take you up on the wager, as I also don’t think it will go up to 1million gold. But 5k gold is rather a realistic amount though….
