And this is why developers normally avoid telling anyone anything about their products until they’re almost ready for release.
Even Peter Molyneux learnt that lesson.
Just had to search him up, interesting read!
Edit: Changed the title due to their being a absolutely huge difference between a promise and an intention.
Around this time last year, Arenanet posted this blog post telling us about all awesome and wonderful things they will be implementing before the end of 2013, I’m not here to flame Arenanet, but it’s been 6 months since the end of 2013, and still a lot of things that we were told we would be getting still aren’t here.
This is a list of all the things we were told would be implemented in 2013 that haven’t been put into the game yet, all things outside of the brackets are direct quotes from the blog post, I added in the bold:
- “We’ll begin regularly adding new skills and traits to the game for each profession to expand your characters and builds!” (We’ve only had 1 healing skill added for each profession, and only 5 new traits for each profession.)
- “We’ll expand all crafting professions to allow them to reach a new milestone: 500 points!” (Well, they must have meant all but jeweler and cooking).
- “We aren’t quite ready to go into all the details here, but what I can say is you will see a specific way to build precursor items on your way to a legendary.” (Yeah, this never happened).
- “On top of this, you’ll also see new legendary weapons and new types of legendary gear in 2013.” (This definitely didn’t happen).
I’m not here to complain or demand my rights or something, I’m just here to point out the facts, it’s been 6 months since this stuff was meant to come out and we haven’t heard a single word on it. I remember leading up to the final patches of last year, getting excited because I knew that new legendaries would be coming out soon, and then patch after patch slipped by, and nothing. That was over half a year ago, and we haven’t heard anything, no ETA, no apology, nothing. I’m disappointed.

I am also looking for a guild like this
Most thieves will have 6 in SA, thus they will want to make the most of their stealths and gain as much health as possible, you can use this too your advantage. When they CnD off of you, wait a couple seconds and then dodge, you should be able to predict when they will burst and negate most of it.
Also, if you can make them miss a CnD, it is a big big loss for them, a third or half of their initiative is gone, depending on their build, so try to kitten up their CnD as much as possible.
Far out I feel for the guy I saw who literally had collected EVERY single mini!
I really don’t see the problem.
Also, OP, when making a post ranting and kitten, try to like, format it properly, it’s a kittening pain in the kitten to read.
I support this so much.
Yea well it’s really annoying and would be a quick fix.
Hey, so I’m looking for a guild for guild missions.
I don’t care what server, I’ll guest, as long as it’s on NA
I am Australian and looking for a guild that does them on either a Friday or Saturday night my time, so I’m looking for a guild that does missions anywhere between.
Friday 12am – 7am PDT
Friday 9pm – Saturday 7am PDT
Saturday 9pm – Sunday 4am PDT
Thanks
You take way to long to make decisions. Either do something or dont. And where do you find these players? That warrior was the only one who even did anything and he would only use earthshaker (which you never dodged or avoided at all) and then he would just stop attacking. Both yours and your opponents gameplay didnt feel very smooth
Yeah I was just thinking the exact same thing, for a 1v7 or whatever it was, he sure was taking way too long to make decisions, if the other players had even a little skill it would’ve gone down very differently.
Ah this thread :’)
OP, how is this any different to an Elementalist mist form stomping or a Warrior endure pain + stability stomping or any other class invulnerability stomping?

Wow, I actually can’t believe this.
I know it’s not a MAJOR deal, but it’s just rediculous how much Arenanet goes against what they’ve previously said…
What happened to all the “a new character can jump right into PvP and not be at a disadvantage/be on par with everyone else”.
Well now that’s down the water, what next? Wanna introduce gear rarity and stat differences as well when we merge PvP and PvE armor as one?
Come on Arenanet, seriously reconsider this change, I get that you want people to experience all parts of the game, but don’t try and merge PvP and PvE like this, it’s just wrong and goes against everything “different” about our PvP compared to other MMO’s.
My combo…
Cast Bassy Venom
Heartseeker + Steal
Black Powder
Heartseeker
Backstab
I use a Corrupted Axe and Mace.
The problem is, when both weapons are stowed by my side, the corrupted axe will continue to display it’s glowing effect, whilst the mace will not.
And so when it comes to withdrawing the weapons, I have a axe with it’s full effects working, whilst a mace that takes like 5 seconds to build up to match the effects.
It’s quite annoying, please fix!
Hi!
I’m currently rank 21 and specialize in playing a mid point/home point bunker guard and a d/p roaming thief, I am looking for a (preferably big) PvP only guild. Yes, it has to be strictly for PvP.
You’ll find I am a very competent player, good at listening to instructions and teamwork and stuff. I don’t care what server you are on, and I am keen to use voice comm’s to communicate
Hit me up in game or on here, ign is Sithaco.
Just figured out future LS plans......
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Sithaco.4673
Update 1 – The Split
After the events of Lions Arch all 5 races turn on and blame each other for allowing Scarlett to do this. Destiny’s Edge is broken and all the races declare war against each other turning all of Tyria into a open world 5 way PvP map and at the very centre of the battle is Lions Arch and all 5 races fight for control over the city and if your race controls the city you get a 5% discount off of black lions keys.
Update 2 – Dragon Rise
Then all 5 remaining Elder Dragons appear at the same time and each dragon joins one of the races to fight for them and makes the previous Destiny’s Edge member of that race it’s champion.
Human – Primordus – Logan
Norn – Jormag, Eir
Charr – Kralkatorrik , Rytlock
Sylvari – Mordremoth – Caithe
Asura – Bubbles, Zojja
Update 3 – The God’s Return
After sensing a enormously large amount of violence in the universe, the 5 gods return to Tyria and believe that they must erase all but 1 of the races off the planet in order for life on Tyria to continue. However, each god wants to save a different race, so they then turn on each other and align themselves with one of the fighting armies.
Human – Dwayna
Charr – Balthazar
Norn – Kormir
Sylvari – Melundru
Asura – Lyssa
Only Grenth remains undecided………………
Update 4 – The Return of Death
Grenth uses his powers to bring Zhaitan back to life and then they also bring back the Dwarves and make Ogden Stonehealer Zhaitan’s champion. They then join the fight, fighting from the south.
Update 5 – Arkovatic?
As the Charr and Humans are fighting at Ebonhawke suddenly the Tengu swarm in and take the place, they then proceed to awaken a hidden 7th Elder Dragon and make there leader Fluffy Fluffy Feather Feather the Elder Dragon’s champion (the dragon is later found out to be named Arkovatic) oh bam and then like Abbadon comes back to life and joins with the Tengu’s
Update 6 – PRECURSER SCAVENGER HUNT
About time.
Is it? Did not know this.
I seriously don’t understand this, why don’t we have access to all stat combinations when it comes to ascended gear? Why is there no Carrion stat combination? Or just plain Dire gear without the Rabid part in it, because the precision is absolutely useless.
I just don’t get it, why??
All good builds deserve a bump.
Made for 1vX Bunker
Made for Mid Point Defence/Attack!
Made for Roaming
The Alpha Omega Awesomeness Build of Domination is a build for all, combining condition damage with raw damage to create a truly unstoppable mesmer, use this now before the January patch which will surely nerf this to the ground!!
(edited by Sithaco.4673)
I believe all types of ascended gear should be able to be obtained through all aspects of the game.
Ascended armor, weapons and trinkets from dungeons
Ascended armor and weapons from WvW
Ascended armor, weapons and all types of trinkets from FOTM
Exotic armor was good, because it could be obtained throughout all area’s of the game, whether you were a pure WvW player or strictly a dungeon runner, everyone had a fair shot at getting exotic gear.
The same should be said for ascended.

Cooking to 500?
Specific way to build precursor items?
NEW legendary weapons?
Legendary weapon skins in PvP??
We are Iron, we are Forge, we are Empire!
The Ironforge Empire was formed by 3 friends who yearned to create an Australian/Oceanic guild for WvW and PvP players alike. It’s a place of glory, victory, and destruction.
We have found a lot of love not just from Oceanic players, so we are now looking for more players from all time zones to fill our spots. Leadership positions are available for people in PST time zones for when our Australian leaders can’t be online.
Goals?
No zerging, no rushing, no mindless play. The Ironforge Empire is all about small, effective teams in all aspects of the game, from winning game after game in sPvP to having multiple squads from our guild simultaneously completing objectives in a single WvW map, we are all about small, coordinated play.
A friendly, social, and mature community. As our guild continues to rapidly expand, so does our community and our connections with one another. We soon will have a tight, friendly community where anyone can come in and make some friends, get some help, and just have a good time.
Requirements to get in?
There are none, whether you have never stepped foot into WvW or PvP before, or your only character is a level 3, as long as you have a interested in learning WvW or PvP we will take you into our guild.
Oh, you also gotta be on Ehmry Bay, best server out <3.
Are we strictly PvP?
No we are not, whilst we do heavily focus on WvW and PvP, it is unreasonable to think that we do not enjoy PvE aspects of the game. We have many members who enjoy running dungeons and we love doing guild dungeon runs. We also occasionally participate in world boss events as well as participate in guild missions on a weekly basis (as soon as they are ready).
Contacts
Contact one of our guild leaders via whisper or mail to get in, alternatively you can just leave a reply to this forum with your IGN requesting to get in.

Centrelink Co [LINK]
Centrelink is a new guild created for Australians, we are here to bring death and destruction to our foes at night time in WvW, savage our ways to victory in sPvP, and have some fun doing it.
Whilst the majority of our player base consist of Aussies, anyone is free to join. As long as they pass the test located below.
What can we do for you?
Provide you with a fun environment to play Guild Wars 2 in, win games in sPvP, destroy our enemies in WvW, and eat cake.
What do we do?
We are a PvX guild with a much heavier focus on WvW and sPvP over PvE.
Requirements to join?
We are have a few simple skills required to be in our guild if you are not Australian.
Know how to effectively ride a Kangaroo
Be able to cook snags on a BBQ whilst wearing nothing but thongs and board shorts.
Have a manly amount of chest and/or facial hair
Say “G’day” as much as possible.
Be able to accurately throw a boomerang
Send video footage to the guild of you wrestling a Croc
Future Vision
We want to create a really nice, friendly and close knit community who just like having fun, we want to have a strong WvW team to help out our server in the off peak hours, we want to have good sPvP teams, we want to have dungeon teams, we want to have fun with each other.
That’s really what all this is about, Aussies are a great bunch, and we want to bring them together (and anyone else who is interested) to create a really cool community.
So yeah, if you are even mildly interested, come on, give us a shot! If it’s not for you, then that’s alright, but I wouldn’t be suprised if you ended up staying
PM one of the following players in game or send them a mail if you are interested.

Check messiah’s Panicond P/D build here is very similar to your’s (venom share build don’t have any other good build anyway) with a lot of comments and videos. He has done a wonderful job.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/The-Panicond-build-P-D/first#post3263631
Yeah just a few things I don’t like in his build, I find the 3x 15% bleed duration to be much for effective then Rune of the Adventure, and I prefer my sigil load out over his.
But thank you
Might want to remove one venom for a stunbreaker. When fighting other players, atleast take 1 stunbreaker to be safe :P
If you switch out Potent Poison for Mug you will have my PvE build xD Mug is also a better choice, you can deal enough poison with dagger and if you use the spider venom, poison duration shouldn’t be a problem at all
You can also put the last 10 points you spent on getting Residual Venom in another traitline, perhaps trickery to get bountiful theft or in acrobatics for vigor on dodge. I understand the extra venom stack is nice but a well timed basilisk venom share won’t care if it has 1 or 2 stacks, the person who get hit will die in teamplay :P
Thanks for the advice, I have switched out the poison venom for shadowstep, and changed Potent Poison for Mug as well
although I will be keeping Residual Venom where it is.
I’m sorry accidental double post please delete this one.
With the new heal skill incoming healing skill Skelk Venom and the buff to initiative regen I have decided to craft a P/D venom share build to work well with small groups in WvW.
Take a peek, I’m looking for feedback, and I’ll be testing this build out once the next patch arrives so I’ll give feedback on how it goes.
In case link doesn’t work:

This seems really, really cool.
I don’t PvP much, but I have a friend who PvP’s a lot and is always complaining that he won’t WvW with me because his character looks horrible and he doesn’t have good gear, this will help out a lot.
Can we pleeaaaaaaasssseeeeeeeee get trait templates so we can save different trait allocations?? Pleaaaaaassse
What trait allocation are you running.
And why on earth are you using Withdraw in a stealth based build? That would suit a S/D evasion build, really, HiS is your best friend for this build.
Also, skale venom and blinding powder seem a bit poor compared to the utility of Signet of Shadows and Shadow Refuge.
Anyway, good gameplay though!
Just saw a post by a Dev in a different topic.
“There is absolutely going to be Halloween this year. The Mad King wouldn’t miss out on an opportunity to come back and share his latest batch of terrible jokes. And open a spot for you in his lovely tower.
With the first update for October hitting on the 1st, the next update afterward would hit with plenty of time to spare before Mad King’s day.”
So the tower will be returning, I personally would like some changes not so much to the tower itself, but how you go about playing. Such as…
-The ability to do it in a private instance
-Reduced wait times between each attempt
I can’t remember much of it from last year as I got it pretty quickly, but did anyone else have any issues regarding the clock tower they would want changed? And I’m not looking for “it was too hard” or “remove the timer” things, but more things to do with joining it ect.
The reason why people won’t take you is because your probably use fine or masterwork gear, don’t have a lot of experience with the game if you aren’t 80, and you will generally slow the entire group down. Honestly, it’s not that hard to get to 80 and get some decent rare/exotic gear.
They said Main Hand Pistol so they are clearly talking about Body Shot which at the moment is pretty much useless.
I main P/D and I never, ever, use Body Shot, it’s just a waste of initiative.
Hey man, it’s taken me a good year to find it, but I think I finally did!

Once they change the way champions work (they will drop boxes with t6 mats, skill points, lodestones and unique skins) then t6 mats will have a lot of supply on the market from people farming CoF.

Look, I run with Harrahou, and there is a big difference between people who can efficiently run this dungeon, and pugs who think they know how to run it, we’ve seen it many times, and that is what he is doing here, educating pugs who are your typical greatsword fgj omm warriors, we use none of that, except the warrior. This is about improving people.
let’s take bets as to Harrahou’s clear time. I mean, if they were really down with speedclearing I’d assume they’d just link Strife’s video. Sooooo, I’m guessing 7:30 time or worse.
Also betting on the video starting from Magg’s gate with no mention of the Ferrah speedup.
Strife’s way sucks.
Everybody knows how to run CoF p1.
Not the best way.
Not trying to hate on you Harrahou, it’s just…we (meaning the dungeon community) pretty much have CoF down short of some mind-blowing revelation. I mean, unless you have a mixed pug group doing it in like 5 minutes or a warr/mes group doing it in like 3, I don’t see what can be new about this.
This isn’t true, I don’t think I’ve met a pug yet who is familiar with using longbow/ axe/mace warhorn and knows what utilities to bring, they all bring for great justice and on my mark, they are useless with the way we run it.
Forget the fact that it is cof p1;
Why did you bother to create a thread to generate hype around a content-guide that 90% of the community can do blindfolded and has already been readily available since launch?
Next thread should be a preview on how to breathe or tie your shoes.
They may be able to do it easily, but they could still do it better if they knew how to.
So yeah, you lot are probably the pugs who don’t know how to run this dungeon to efficiently, so stop complaining and learn something.
Basically what I am asking is, would you rather the Living Story to continue to have short stories that do not really link back to the previous ones.
Or, would you rather see the Living Story provide us with a story after story that actually link back to the previous one, providing us with a long term story.
Personally, I am by far choosing the second option, I just hate when we get a few short stories and then BAM! That’s the end of that and we go onto something else completely unrelated.
I’m going to be entirely honest here, the place looks great, but I didn’t spend much time in it, I made my way to the top and ran around on the floating ship thing, and left.
My reasoning for leaving was, what the hell is the point? What is the storyline, I really missed the Flame and Frost, except for the fact that it took like four months to complete, but as someone else said, we saw characters rise up and grow, we were fighting an unknown enemy, the only story I can gather from this thing is that two people want some sort of trade agreement, brilliant.
Oh yeah awesome it looks beautiful, ohhhhh wait it’s only here for a month, ok ok.
I’m just really glad that Arenanet seem to understand there faults and will be detailing the future of this game/permanent content ect. in a future blog post, because if they are seriously replacing expansions with the living story and THIS is the quality that we get, what the actually kitten.
I DON’T GET IT WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THE ACHIEVEMENT POINT LEADERBOARD???
oh just stop whining, who gives a kitten about the leader board anyway?
People who played GW1 were always going to get rewards in GW2, the 20 points wasn’t worth the time spent in GW1 to get them, 500 seems fair I guess, although I couldn’t give two kittens about where I am on the leader board.
According to dulfy’s preview, the new skins are unlimited use like HoM’s, although you can only generate a copy of each skin once per day. (Why this was done, I’m not sure. Still, waiting a few days to get enough skins for all your alts isn’t too bad.)
nooooo nononononono I think you meant how you can only get one chest per day.
Have you played it?
