Bugs I’ve encountered:
Boss has later stage skill after Reset
Rift open in mid-air
The fly phase isn’t correct sometimes
I mean this is the epic end and why can’t ANET do it right? The reset bug was terrible and there were a dozen more.

The ending satisfied two of my three wants
Mordremoth dead
Trahearne dead
What is in the kitten egg!Unfortunately, gonna have to wait til Living Story Season 3 for the last bit of info
I will say the Mordremoth fight was cool, but it didn’t feel like fighting an Elder Dragon. Zhaitan was much more “cool” fight, because he is what I expected an Elder Dragon to look like.
So Zhaitan had better cinematics, bad mechanics
Morde had better mechanis, bad cinematics
More importantly, the overall war against the Risen was better written than against the Mordrem.

The Egg was meant to replace that pompous Jungle Drake since it became a intergal part of Tyria’s existance to keep the planet from overflowing with Magic(Zhaitan still hasn’t been replaced which of course is bad news unless someone brings a Stone Drake into Arah to absorb the Magic).
What I want to know is: Who is the Final Raid Boss? Could he be the real villain of Heart of Thorns? Could it even be dare I say it the Deep Sea Dragon shown in Heart of Thorns’s official art?
Which means it has no use against Mordremoth at all, it’s just a tiny replacement. Why should we focus so much mission on it?

I would say that for the Elder Dragon of Mind his size is quite fitting. Mordremoth is a bipedal Drake with lots of power over mind and plants unlike Zaitan who is a giant Bone Dragon made of other Bone Dragons controlling an army of Undead.
In the end it would seem that Drakes are indeed Dragons. A Dragon getting stronger dosen’t make it bigger as shown by Heart of Thorns though it does make them a major part of Tyria’s survival.
Too bad for Mordremoth that his arrogance cost him his life. Once he made his move it was all over for him. He made the mistake of sacrificing his greatest weapon Scarlet Briar to wake him up when he could have used her to win and died because of it.
Also: considering how there’s art for the Deep Sea Dragon in the Heart of Thorns site what are the chances that he’ll move in to claim Lion’s Arch now that the ancient Jungle Drake Mesmer is dead?
Actually, Mordremoth only has mind power upon its creation.

Well the fight was alot better then the zaithan fight was. But i can understand that you would be disappointed by the size of mordy.
It was just totally not what I expected. I mean we basically projected ourselves into his mind and… well mind kittened him. But yea just thought it was funny what with the wyverns in Verdant being the closest thing to a dragon we actually fought.
I also didnt expect that but given the story behind mordy and the sylvari i dont think mind kittening him was bad storywise. Though i guess a more dragonlike model would have been better…
The overall story is not as good as Zhaitan’s. The final fight of Zhaitan was bad, but the whole war against the Risen was awesome, we were making progress every mission.
But the Mordremoth war was more like giving you a lot of mystery to find, few of them were really useful against it. Nor does the whole war make good sense, you were having huge trouble and all of sudden you made into the heart of the dragon and defeated it.
True but i think that has more something to to with how fast paced the story missions were. I think there should have been some more story missions before the endfight.
It has nothing to do with pace, but the focus, it’s keep giving you cliffhangers and new mystery, at the same time let you do useless research. Like the Buried Insight, you spent so much time to explore an old city and got laughable results. Nor does Glint’s egg make much use against the dragon, I’ve heard it’s only making some effect after its death.

By using your glider? It worked just fine for me. But apperantly the uplifts sometimes bug out and dont wokr like some of the jumping mushrooms.
Also he was not taking damage for a long while, how to deal with the blighted? Kill them? What’s after the massive aoe phase?
I dont play with the english text so i am not sure what you mean with the blighted but if you mean your “corrupted friends” just dps them until a rift opens and then use the rift and they become your allies and make you stronger.
Other than these mechanics, what needs to be taking care of? The adds?

Do you mind tell me how to defeat Mordremoth? The massive aoe is impossible to dodge.
How to kill Blighted Pale Tree? It’s keep getting hp back when it’s low.
We’ll take a look at the next step “Sign Cutting” being bugged out, as well as some or all of you having to jump through hoops to get the quest to update correctly. Sorry again for the inconvenience – we’ll have the quest’s designer and QA do a deeper dive on these issues.
Seriously, DO NOT make mission in openworld area again, it bugs every time.
I found that you must not have another person on the point when you trigger it
Why did ANET try to set outside quest mission? It bugs out almost every time
Everybody on my map who’s trying to do it is bugging in the marking stage over and over, at random different marks.
Same.
4:00 PM PST, no Patch, no ETA? What the heck is this?
Seriously, why does it take so long to remove the mastery? Come on most of the day has passed.
It’s 3:40pm now, why couldn’t we even get the ETA?
It’s 3: 11 pm now.
It’s 2:30 now, come on.
When will we have the patch? It’s 2:00pm PST now.
Do we have ETA now?
Just asking, how long is the last 3 missions going to take? I’m right at the Sign Cutter mission.
Pls tell us when will the patch come out.
Can we get a clear ETA?
When will this patch come out?
And yet there is still no update on Elite Specs and Hero Points.
So much for this being a GRIND FREE game.
I think the Elite Spec require bigger change to work, so they need more time.
Because the events are as much part of the story as the kitten personal story is, it’s really naive to say “i just want to enjoy the story” when you are actively ignoring 90% of this game’s story.
I can get the QQ about elite specs, i don’t agree with it but i can get it, however the QQ about the story it utter bullkitten. If you want to play the story then play the story, events are part of this story.
No, it’s a different line and you don’t want to do it over and over again.
Again it’s up to player’s choices, if they want to do it they will do it, it’s not wise to force them to do it for so long(level 4 mastery) when they wanted to enjoy other stuff.
…these events are the most amazing thing about hot, they are the best events gw2 has ever had, if you don’t like doing events, why are you playing GW2? And no it doesn’t force yyou to run them over and over, at least not if you actively participate, the kill xp is what levels your masteries the fastest.
You don’t force people to run it simply because you think it’s amazing, it’s up to their choice. Why should I spend hours and hours to grind when I just want to enjoy the story?
It does, especially the level 4 mastery require many hours to achieve.
I don’t think this is good at all, this forced people to actually run events over and over again, and it’s about the only mastery that really did.
Fixed
Thank you so much!
I’m done with most of Act 3, well the Taimi lab mission was interesting, but can we PLS find something REALLY useful after such a long run rather than “the dragons got weakness”?
I mean, all I wanted to do is just walk through and no, verteran mobs everywhere and many of the normal mobs have deadly skill.
My issue is when you spen 20 minutes navigating to a hero point and then its a 5 man minimum group challenge which when attempted you lose and cant get back for another 30 minutes of climbing agian.
If they just simply made the Hero challenges soloable the game would be fine as is. I shouldn’t have to have 4 people minimum to play the game.
… Unless of course, its by design.
GW2 is an MMO after all. Not a singleplayer adventure game. Is it really that odd that you cant complete some challenges alone? You should easily be able to take 80% of brink alone for example. What if the other 20% is meant to be a little harder group content? Like, I dont know… a challenge of some sort?
The majority of the Open World content should be soloable.
Totally, PLS REMOVE THE REQUIREMENT.

I just hope ANET to REMOVE the mastery requirement to continue the story. It’s easy to let us be able to use it in the mission only.

It’s really annoying to require these skills to finish the story.
ANET just hates female norn, look at how many female norn characters got slaughtered in the Zhaitan war.

Gilding, Exalted, and which one next? I want to make sure I got the right one so I don’t have to waste time.
Only 1/3 way through. I mean, why does ANET hate female Norn so much? In the Zhaitan war, female norn characters got killed more than anyone else, and now you murdered Eir right in the beginning?
It was quite good but sadly I need to spend time to get the mastery to continue it.
I mean a lot of them in the wild are way too hard to dodge and could kill solo players easily.
Source please. Because I looked earlier and there was no such statement in any scenario discussed in this thread except for ONE – Honor’s Voice.
And, again, Honor’s Voice was corrupted by indirect means. And, again, Jormag prefers corrupting the willing – nothing ever said he’s incapable of corrupting the unwilling.
To put it in comparative terms: Jormag is to corrupting the willing as Zhaitan is to corrupting the dead as Primordus is to corrupting stone and lava.
They are capable of more, but 90% of their minions are of a specific make.
No, many quggans got corrupted, many animals, who didn’t even know about power were corrupted. Are you saying those quggans in the story turn into icebrood willingly?
Having just re-read the section and all of your posts, you did not. Allow me to quote for you:
“The shaman’s mesmeric mind, which once filled the cavern and drowned out all other minds, suddenly imploded.
The mental onslaught ceased.
Eir and the others could think again.
The Dragonspawn was cut off from every mind in the chamber— cut off even from the mind of its master.
The marching armies faltered. A thousand ice warriors halted. They had obeyed the Dragonspawn because it was the champion of their lord. Now, it was only a terrible, foreign power in their midst. They turned from Eir and her comrades and turned on the Dragonspawn.”Later on, going for pages, it explains that the Dragonspawn fought back, overpowered the thousand icebrood, and became a blizzard using Jormag’s power. It retained its power, but was merely cut off from entering the minds of others – including its ties to Jormag – as I’ve been saying.
It lost the mind affecting power, that is what I’m saying, which countered your early point
Destiny’s Edge severing the Dragonspawn’s link to Jormag is unrelated to Jormag’s corruptive abilities or the Dragonspawn’s mental abilities
We don’t know about it. Many of them were turned against their will. It has the power to do so.
I post the quote from the book, it’s clear that the mental power of the Dragonspawn was gone.
None of those gives any sort of proof whatsoever that they did not willingly submit to the corruption as far as I am aware.
Play the game and you will know how did they behave before.
Are there any actual proof that it could corrupt people forcefully though? As far as I recall we never had any point of view character that got corrupted therefore we have no real confirmation about if it can force the corruption or not.
Dragonspawn’s minions
The Quaggans in the Bad Ice storyline
The Voice in HoW dungeon
It can corrupt people forcefully.
The Dragonspawn lost its strongest ability: mental corruption.
also in the quaggan quest
All those corrupted quaggans—one of Jormag’s more powerful lietenants must be involved. This is even bigger than we thought, Baroosh.
First off, Jormag doesn’t do mind corruption. What he does is corrupt the willing – but with the loopholes of forcefully making others willing (what the Dragonspawn tried to do to Destiny’s Edge) or Sons of Svanir not obeying this order of Jormag (what Koda’s Bane does to the Honor’s Voice). The theme for Jormag is to trick/convince/force beings into serving him willingly, then corrupting – but the corruption isn’t necessarily mental.
Yes it does, we can see various examples of forceful mental corruption. Jormag prefers to lure people to serve it willingly, but it could directly corrupt others.
Destiny’s Edge severing the Dragonspawn’s link to Jormag is unrelated to Jormag’s corruptive abilities or the Dragonspawn’s mental abilities. They were greatly outnumbered and tossing the gray powerstone dust onto the Dragonspawn was a means to make enemy fight enemy to improve their position (and a bit of a dues ex machina like how Destiny’s Edge killed all dragon champions).
Yes it does.
The shaman’s mesmeric mind, which once filled the cavern and drowned out all other minds, suddenly imploded.
The mental onslaught ceased.
Dragonspawn’s mental power was severed.
The Dragonspawn was probably Jormag’s strongest champion on mind corruption and EoD had to sever its link with Jormag. The Sons of Svanir was able to turn others(Voice in HoW) into Icebrood in short time. How did others counter it?
Also during the quaggan quest, the strongest Icebrood was just a champion Kodan, but how come it could corrupt so many quggans?
