There are large zerg guilds that already abuse this as is by standing on top of each other… please let’s not further this. large groups already mitigate the damage from aoe because it can only hit five people… why is ANET turning wvw into a giant zergfest I think that from the responses from your player base you would know that we DONT WANT THIS

two staff eles in the guild, very good players who loved to drop AoE one has quit the game already and the other is thinking about it due to the nature of further nerfing AoE

sure they already bought the game but you’ll be kitten if you think they’ll buy the expansions when you force players who have been playing for months and who only like to AoE to switch playstyle while some classes have these massive MASSIVE single target dmg abilities

we should do the 24 hour matches again when the paid xfers happen to peg where everyone should be, that way people aren’t stuck in the same tier for ages then go back to the old system

For ET, I think the key is to get more guilds participating instead of sitting in queensdale recruiting with their legendary and commander tag on :S

Both our servers have pretty large pve populations but its getting those guys into wpvp that’s an issue.

Overall though, I love it on ET and I think Fergs are pretty good as a server. I look forward to fighting you guys more. You take a lot of shots from SF’s larger numbers and manage to come out on top which is really impressive. If you’re on ferg you should check these guys [WZ] out.

thanks for all the shout outs guys, much appreciated! if you are thinking of coming to this server you can always msg me or anyone else in the guild or even roostapro – it’s always a good idea to get a sense of the community before making any moves, but I honestly think it’s a great fit for players who hate queues and want a battle centered around tactics and not zergball

Yes, we need players that want to have fun playing WvW against the odds. Like roostapro said, it does toughen you up. This server is very good for roamers and there are guilds here (if you do not know how to wpvp) that will teach you in a friendly environment or even show you some tricks of the trade.

The server isn’t for players who want to “win now” instead we are focused on how many loot bags we can get or how many times we can wipe the bigger zerg :p

Also, I can’t stress enough how much this server is against the “come save the day attitude.” 95% of players on this server are very and are about the experience. Most of our “trolls” and players who really stressed about score left to t1-3 or SF (the winning server in our match up)

Well, something needed to be done. The fact that you could coordinate a bunch of keep defenders on the wall to basically kill everybody on attacking siege in 2-3 seconds was ridiculous. Especially since you can’t reflect back up walls.

There are so many things that I can say to this… it only works on people trying to smash their face on the gate… against rams maybe (which a cat behind the door would to kill the siege as well)… scorp wire people off because you have to stand at the very edge to use them… aoe the walls, marks fearbombs etc… chain block projectiles… any kind of coordination…

But yeah… you could have kept these in WvW and made them even weaker or not do any damage to siege or structures? I really like these to put on golems so they can defend themselves / be a tank.

I still stick by my point that removing these instead of nerfing (you can’t move for goodness sake) is not the best way to go about things.

If you’re going to remove these can we please start blending more of PvE into WvW?

For instance, most professions beside making oils / stones / food aren’t that great so why not make people with max professions helpful in WvW

For instance, armorsmith can get a one time (large CD) shield that blocks siege damage

A weaponsmith can get a portable “door cutter” which does a % of what a ram would do but is slow and cant attack players

A huntsman can get a portable “sniper rifle” with one or two shots that do a lot of damage for clearing walls

Just some ideas to blend wvw and pve together since you’re removing most of our fun little toys like GiB

That’s really weak. I enjoy the diversity of having pve items in wvw. WvW gets so bland sometimes. Perhaps a nerf instead of all-out removing them would be nicer, a non AoE component? Idk, ><

Would be nice to see golems go more towards a player killing direction as well. An ability that can do some AoE damage would be greatly appreciated and I think would add another dimension to golems.

We had some great fights at reset guys and as always thanks for everyone that fought us. (fergusons crossing tonight). There were some epic battles against seas of red over the bay where we just didn’t have the manpower to push you all the way back to cap the north camp / tower (came really close once to pushing through that camp).
Eventually you guys brought in an outrageous amount of people, but we made you earn it.

Looking forward to roaming a bit more and practicing defense/ offense until more ppl xfer to ET (which we need badly to even things up).

True, and I was making that post because I was enjoying the balance we had in WvW until about a week and a half ago where it became lop sided, but it looks like kwbh will remain farming those badges until we get more people. Honestly, I am not against what you’re doing and I do think the ranking system is pretty ineffective.

As to not upset the balance of the t8 wvw, we at ET who find themselves a bit outnumbered (thanks to some people jumping ship to t1 servers) are looking for some individual players who are tired of queues and like to roam / have fun in small fights. Now, we do not want any big guilds to come “save the day” and cause us to have pvdoor for several weeks, instead we are looking for the individual wvwers or players who want to come to a great server to learn and develop in.

A few wvwers during the US offpeak hours would also be wonderful to get us back in sync with SF.

Hey guys, I just wanted to point out for any individual players / small guilds that ET really needs some night time players. We have about 20-30 aussies and asian players that have come over to this server with us and it’s a little empty. The wvw is pretty even during the day also but SF has a pretty all right night force for t8 which pops its head out sometimes. Honestly, if you want to make a difference and build a great community with us we’ll welcome you with open arms. Just send me a mail if interested.

wow really? Because… I’m pretty sure we are evenly matched us and FC population wise right now if not you guys having a slight edge… you guys wanting easymode? If anything the small xfers should check both FC or ET

Honestly half the people I’ve seen in wvw have gone to T1 servers over this paid xfer thing :/

Edit: a night crew for either server wold be nice :p wouldn’t be an issue but SF seems to have one and us not having one is what really tilts the balance of the match

yeah we had more golems than people on that map, left some in the keep – good thing you failed with your counter rush or you might have killed them

oh yes being in control of like 5 guys that move stack heals and AoEs and direct damage on a player and play in sync / sync up their combo fields is TOTALLY FAIR and doesn’t give ANY advantage at all to the person playing 5 accounts

just like in WoW where the 5 ele shams would instakill you… because that was fun right?

This issue has been fixed. The guild drew the npcs out to engage mobs outside of the control area notably the veteran shade then we had our guys stand on the edges while a mob stood inside and captured the camp so we got the “failure” message.

Read the bug reports / fix them. I.e. like orr bugged events. Honestly, sometimes it seems like it takes days to weeks. Has been getting a lot better lately but could we get maybe an avg response time on tickets or an official thread explaining why sometimes some events in orr are bugged for days to weeks.

Maybe a suggestion, GMs? or live chat somewhere in the works for the future

The south quest “defend the lone post” is not working. No mobs are spawning and the risen waves are remaining the same / there is an inability to cap the point. We tried to unbug it by drawing mobs onto the area for several minutes. It would be appreciated by my guild and most of the other guilds on our server if this was fixed asap because there are a lot of players waiting to do this as a multi guild run to get geared and get shards.

@ 4. We have done that to you a bunch. Even did that to take your keep from SF once you knocked the wall down :p

I’m the big norn warrior commander usually at the head of a bunch of kwbh tags. We also have a human guard and an asura ele that command regularly. Others don’t choose to command often rather keep tags off. Sometimes less cooks in the kitchen is a good thing.

Well this is a fun little fight on our BL and ET :p

They probably do, and there was a vid of like fiveish guys taking out a zerg earlier wich was 10-15+. Can be done. Has been done.

It’s another facet that makes this game interesting. Tip, stability helps if you’re trying to finish someone so they can’t knock you off revives. Haste causes you to finish people faster.

A good spvp background can really pay dividends

also, not sure if this has been suggested yet, but PLEASE make map completion not include the wvw zones if you are going to pay transfer… some servers won’t be able to get those for a long long time in their current match ups

AHAHAHA So much complaints about our transfers we got. Listen here, we LOST quite a few LARGE wvw guilds in Kain back when DR outnumbered us incredibly! So please shove it with the transfers. Also we didn’t get those transfers until AFTER we fought DR so hard and got out of T8 once they left us. Seriously, its like people forget that we fought so hard against DR’s numbers and kept loosing guilds because of the match up but we kept going. As I remember we never looked over the fact we clearly outnumbered our matchups. We always gave recognition to everyone we faced and didn’t boast about out winnings like others. Kain is still one of the lower populated servers, just so happens most of us love WvW. hehehe Anyway I guess Kain we better get use to hearing this BS about we suck, our zergs are easy, we only win due to the transfers blahblahblah…all we can do is continue to work hard and move up and learn in the process!! Let’s keep fighting Kain!!! We have grown so much already!!!!

Being on both of those I can tell you that it was very even until us pro and a few others went to devonas, in fact, there was a week where kaineng won. After that, we steamrolled kain for a while and there was a ton of chest thumping which got a bit excessive.

Fact is, when one server can cover all of the bl in lower tiers and overwhelms everyone they will win 99/100 times and move up. The true test of skill will be when you guys become even with everyone else. DR experienced the same winner’s high, but honestly guys your recruitment campaign is great and I commend you on your way up. Was overdue.

Keep the fight up pieg, ooz and the rest of DR I didn’t know you’d be losing so many wvw focused guilds that really really sucks. But on the flip side I might be getting to play against your awesome guilds soon

Hmm, how many hackers from the other servers have I seen, oh a bunch. How many have a raged about. None.

Anyway, I enjoyed your 30 v 1 at Mendons a little earlier (started out as 9 v 1). I did my best calling out for 20 minutes for anyone to help, but killing npc ogres was too important to our ET guys instead of defending a fully upgraded tower. Thanks to those few who did eventually try to come assist.

Anyway I’ve had some good fights with you all, but as of now this commander is looking for a new server and I guess I have a week to figure out where that will be. Perhaps the blacklisting on ET will eventually stop (our biggest problem) where certain guilds wont help other guilds commanders. Best of luck to you all.

Sad to see you go man, not everyone has the patience to be on such an outnumbered server. Btw those ET guys fighting ogres were also holding stonemist the keep and pretty much a bit over a third of the map waiting for it all to be upgraded.

Can’t be everywhere at once, but I suggest reaching out to different guilds and trying to get everyone on the same page.

I wasn’t contacted last night until the bg was blue and we were heading out for the night ;/

edit: I agree some coverages could be better like our aus / EU timezones could use a little filling but for the most part there are a lot of nice people that just need motivation

Hey guys, since you are doing paid xfers (which I really think will make the wvw at least more stable) would you please implement a few more free trial weeks where new players can get on this game and try it out / hopefully buy it. That way the lowest pop servers can get a little more life in the newbie areas and we can get more players on this great game.

Had great fun in Eternal today taking stonemist and defending it. Too many fergs and SF to push either one though

also, just wondering, did ferg get xfers? as I was logging off (being 1am for me) I saw a huge zerg of 60+ in our BL and they were holding a sizable chunk of SF as well as their own BL

way more than we are used to fighting, but such is life

Your opinions about ET aren’t exactly true… sure some are getting demoralized, but there’s a growing number of us building upon the fact that we are outnumbered. Take today for instance, by midnight est we typically lose everything in EB

Now we’re outnumbered and still going strong. The only way to become better players to to rise up to the challenge and fight those numbers. It is an opportunity that many of the ET guilds that I have talked to are bonding over. We have a rather large population just not wvw, and like I said, a lot of very large guilds that aren’t very active in that wvw. We can build, and it’s not a problem. If you feel demoralized about it and choose to get frustrated then maybe you are playing on the wrong server or the wrong game. Games are meant to be enjoyed. Go out there and enjoy it. Seize the moment.

Anyway, it’s been fun in EB today guys. I really appreciate the challenge you guys gave us. The 50 man rush on our keep from the underground passage was pretty dicey!

If you compare that point spread with the point spreads of the other tiers, you’ll notice that this is still a relatively even match and SF is NOWHERE near dominating (if you want to see domination as a result of server transfers, look at those point spreads in tiers 5 and 6). I myself haven’t noticed much in the way of server transfers, but that’s not to say it hasn’t been happening. But I personally don’t think server transfers is playing much of a role in SF taking the lead as much as ET loosing even more WvWers (sorry to hear ET ). SF has always had the numbers to do well when they’re against one strong population server and one weak population server. Now that we’re not fighting a two-front war nearly as much, SF is able to cap more assets and put a lot more heat on FC. We also have a lot of “fair weather” players on our server. When the going gets rough in WvW, our players retreat to PvE. When the going gets good in WvW, our players decide that WvW is fun again and return to WvW. Also, I’ve been hearing stuff about a new alliance on SF that is trying to get our WvW organized and populated, which may be playing into things.

Just because SF has taken the lead doesn’t mean the match isn’t even anymore or that we’ve gotten an influx of server transfers. The point spread is still relatively competitive and there are plenty of other reasons that could explain the lead. If we start seeing a point discrepancy of hundreds of points, then we can start pointing the finger at server transfers.

Well we went to nice even battles in EBG to SF having 100% EB and 50 ppl outisde our spawn all day, overnight. It’s not even anymore, don’t kid yourself.

yes there is a very large night presence on SF, but during the day it’s pretty even I love hopping on the map and causing some havoc it’s been fun fighting you guys

and as far as ET losing people, that’s not entirely true, we seem to be losing ppl as the week goes on in WvW however we have a lot of large guilds … they just need to be motivated to do something in wvw as opposed to sitting in front of queensdale with their commander icon on… lol

we’ve had a few come here and have been scouting, and I don’t mind most of them just hoping the main one’s aren’t considering it so we came here to shoot the idea down, you can flame all you want, but your attitudes are what drives ppl away from your server

had a lot of fun in ferguson’s crossing today, the WZ? (correct me if I’m wrong) and envy guilds held us for the longest time while we tried to hit you guys at bay (after you had taken the map back from us)

Went to EB later and had a stand off with a giant night crew zerg from SF, seems you guys have a lot of night presence this week.

Hoping for more fun fights – wishing I didn’t have to wake up early tomorrow!

This is why I love ET, the only thing we need is a few more oceanic players and we’re set. Love the attitude. Love the mindset.

Could the spvp community possible have a seasonal ladder where the top qualifying points once or twice a year are put into some kind of hall of fame and then reset? You could also do a tournament at the end of each season and also put those into the hall of fame. Some kind of large gem reward for the tournament could be a really good incentive to get people really interested in spvp as well.

honestly, no need to come to ET, people don’t understand the community. Talking to a lot of players from TAC and Mend who have been there for a long time, they don’t care about losing or winning it’s about having fun, and now that they’re in that last spot, things are gelling and will rebuild, the one man Mr. Fixit will not help anything

also from having 10+ recruiters scouring every inch of ET every day, I can tell you if his guild is small then he should probably find and merge into another guild because there are slim pickings and a lot of small guilds that could really use joint leadership to fix activity problems

If you look at every higher tier, I’m pretty sure every single one of them has a server-wide forum to discuss issues without cluttering up the match thread (sadly ours got a late start and hasn’t gone anywhere, so I guess you could say we are the exception). Thanks pieg, but I think DR will be just fine. Also, I think ET will be our home for the long haul. The recruitment opportunities might suck but it’s bringing us closer together.

Morningstar, for such a big guild, we were getting lazy, and we had lost our edge in WvW and sPvP… On kain and later on DR against similar numbers, we could roll almost any zerg we came across, but like I said, we got lazy. We needed a change of scenery so we left while DR was dominating the other servers and didn’t announce it until the match was over as to not hurt morale.

& moving up in tiers wasn’t an option

hoping SF and Ferg get xfers at the same rate, don’t want to unbalance anything down here yet

Guys from DR, knock it off. There has always been friction in DR between a lot of the commanders but for weeks you’ve been winning and that’s kept you guys from ripping each others’ heads off. Now, you meet your first challenge and loss and you start attacking each other on the forums, and one of the guys from Pro (the one with the largest mouth and who talked constant smack) leaves. Good, now you can keep arguing with each other publically and making the whole server look bad or you guys can set aside your differences, talk to each other like adults privately, and handle all your disagreements / arguments so that you can work towards improving yourselves next week.

Public forums isn’t the place for all this.

We’re slowly getting xferred over and trying to get more pve’ers into wvw.

We’re always looking for players who want to learn and help our guild / whatever server we’re on.
