A lot of the servers shifted (i.e. guilds left) before christmas, and because of this, new players saw the low populated servers as their first option and joined them. I am been around a few of the lowest tier servers and they all have a ton of new players. At least for the wvw dynamic, if you keep allowing large guilds to move for free to small servers and causing them to dominate the other servers for weeks … it isn’t fun for anyone. A lot of the servers are pretty evenly matched right now and they should stay the way they are. The constant movement of wvw is getting tiring.

hopefully no more xfers to any of the servers to unbalance everything

would hate to see this awesome match up turn into a devonas rest or kaineng server… winning because you outnumber everyone just isnt fun

Had another great night tonight in the enemy borderlands.

Although it is hard to mount an assault on anything that is fully upgraded and has siege in it while against superior numbers, we will continue to hit the borderlands with more and more as we keep getting converting pve’rs. You all are great opponents and we hope to have more fun fights and lock you up for longer as our numbers, tactics, and new players’ levels progress. I’m sure it’s happened, just not by that weird RED guild that goes about karma training on our borderlands with a zerg of uplevels that run away at the sight of 5 people and a ballista. Seriously, is this guild full of bots? I honestly can’t tell.

RED isn’t a bad guild at all, they’re very big and with every large guild there’s going to be varying players. Please don’t generalize.

I Just wanted to come in and read the last few pages of the match up for old time’s sake. KWBH is pulling for our old server! Good luck out there devonas rest.

anyway, we had you pinned down there but you guys dug in and the other commander on the map kept leading people away

was a fun fight all day…we are finding ourselves bouncing around maps just to keep the keep some red so we didn’t get much contact with any one map aside from spot defense / an offensive push

couldn’t ask for a better learning experience for all of the new players in the guild, if you see any KWBH just /wave

Why are you stressing out? WvW is supposed to be fun. You have to realize it’s a game, and because there’s a dance emote people are going to use it. There will be trolls everywhere, and you can’t take it personally. You just take what you can get and roll with the punches. Christmas has come and gone and there are many new players. Kain will be moving up so you will have time to develop your player base. If you’re outnumbered just take as many as you can with you and enjoy the ride. There’s no reason to stress or say it’s “harder than your job.”

Just a few words of wisdom from an old commander who has almost always been outnumbered.

… are there any reason? Seems from people posts that GW2 now is extremely grindy (fractals), still have major issues with balance in WvW (theives etc) and no progression at all for pvp’ers (other then go do PvE for Fractal-stuff).

really do not see where you are getting the “grinding” or what your definition of “grinding” is because this is pretty light compared to some other popular mmos

There is many MMORPG with no bots, with better gameplay, with much better PvP. GW2 is not bad game in fact, but it’s nothing special. And Anet made their manifesto. For me that manifesto was pure and clear lie, and that’s why I don’t like GW2. Anet promised me a new, revolutionary game, but sold me old stuff in shiny box.

The manifesto? Yes, I was reading some of the amazon reviews when I was buying this game for xmas. A lot of players complain and feel “betrayed” by the ascended items. Many of them even going as far as giving it a 1 star and warning people not to buy it. Sure, I can understand where you’re coming from, but the ascended items don’t make you that much better. A small increase in stats from rings and a backpiece will not make you amazing or better than other players except on paper. The real stat that matters is the agony resistance which only applies to fractals anyway, and if you’re big on fractals you can earn enough tokens for the backpiece and get the rings with AR.

I do agree it was a strange move but it pertains more to pve’ers who do the fractal dungeons. The differences in wvw (where you are pitted against the players with those items) is negligible imo

as long as its constructive and not a flame post no one has any problems with honesty… I’m the same way vail I try to post when I can

I have seen a lot of trolling and a lot of threats to quit by a lot of players since launch. There have been players complaing about lack of endgame then turning around and complaining when new content like fractals and ascended gear comes out. Fact is, it’s impossible to please people and trying to can drive any rational person insane.

I myself have ventured onto the forums to complain once or twice because of execution or content I did not agree with, but the fact remains the devs are trying.

For all the complaints and threats of quitting that come out of the vocal minority, the devs try their best to address the complaints. Just because your complaints aren’t answered immediately doesn’t mean they aren’t read and they aren’t noted. Anet has fixed many bugs and problems since launch (if anyone remembers the silly beta glitches).

In short, the game is constantly evolving.

Why do I love this game?

Well, like I mentioned earlier, the devs are on top of things, they had botting problems and they got in front of them. They had class balancing issues, and they’ve done much to fix these. Rendering is still an issue, but as you can tell by the constant patches that they are trying their best to fix it.

The developers of this game not only try their best to stay on top of things, they are always releasing new content. I, for one, love to WvW and I was excited to hear about some of the changes coming to WvW.

The game is a refreshing change of pace to other MMOs and I will continue to support it. Will I voice my opinions strongly if I disagree? Yes… but I really enjoy this game and look forward to seeing the new content and playing with both my rl friends and friends I’ve made on this game.

Hey guys, dunno why your thread keeps getting deleted w/o explanation but I was wondering about ET and FC.

Wondering what guilds roll in wvw, leader’s names and more importantly your pve population and how many players you got during christmas. Please mail me this info as soon as you can, would love to talk to one of you.

I loved being the underdog… absolutely loved it. It was why I took my guild from being on ET when it was near the top to kaineng then to dr – using tactics to fight against larger zergs, although you often lose in the end, is and always will be my favorite part of wvw.

But, back to why I’m here… I was wondering what large guilds run in wvw for SF and how your pve population looks.

How many people (guesstimates) did you gain for your playerbase during christmas, if you have a nightcrew … etc. Please mail me that info if you can I would love to have a chat with one of you.

just a thought, but since we’re on the subject of commander why hasn’t anet implemented some sort of filter on who you can see on the map ? like only seeing the commander whose squad you are in

or, another approach could be that every X amount of time, there is a vote and the top X amount of players with commander who get voted get to display it on the map

1. the most popular commanders (and one’s who have many guildies in that battleground) get to command
2. allows the most qualified people command and hopefully takes down the incompetent / rude commanders

Any person who reports another person for language is a petty person. It is an OPTION to see language you apparently disapprove of. Unless someone is being a racist, why would you choose to see this language and THEN report the person for something you wanted to see? If you didn’t want to see it or if the person was avoiding the filter I can understand the report function.

You can kill people, drive a spike through their heart to finish them but you can’t swear? ANet and the people doing the reporting have kittened up morals anyway.

In this case, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an effort by some, and probably some noob commanders to get Morningstar out. He is very good at what he does and how he does it – he works hard and motivates people. We have many commanders now who are horrible as I have posted before. They spent most of their time in PVE. They don’t know a single thing about strategy. They don’t understand siege or where to place it. They know one thing. “If I put my icon on then people will come to me and I will instantly be Somebody. Because I have an icon, I know everything and you are wrong.” I have many commanders ignored because of this and because they have only lead karma trains around the map, ignoring situations which they could have averted with the people following them. As I said, most of the people on our server are just not smart, inexperienced and lazy. Almost all are commanders just because of the ego boost it gives them. Many of our commanders are horrible. It was the FEW who made a huge difference. Take them out of the equation, Morningstar being one of them, and we suffer a tremendous amount. What you have left are mostly strutting peakittens with huge egos and zero sense of strategy. Well done kitten, well done.

At no point was I being mean… rage posts like this don’t even belong in the WvW section. Please give your feedback to customer support if you have a problem… or post in suggestions to help the game get better. Writing a short story on why gw sucks and why you’re quitting isn’t the way to do it.

The game is always evolving. Yes, it has been mentioned by about 100 people now in the suggestion part that GW lacks serious pve endgame… thank you for not reading or responding to any of those and instead posting it here again instead of suggesting how to fix the problem.

however, it is true that morningstar is online for like 20 hours a day in wvw lol I’ll give him that… thats gonna hurt not having a blue icon there all the time

so number 1 I’m not going to spend 5 hours trying to take SM you have no idea who I am I usually run with a group of 3 to 5 and take camps and take towers from time to time. I would hear some people cry from time to time in map chat saying “if only chris was here!” When I did see him show up in a map I was in he would bring a zerg of people with him and he would zerg everything until that zerg “died” and then jump ship to another map usually back to fergs home map where the “zerg” was. I have been on this server from the head start and have watched guilds come in WvW saying Join NP or Join SANC only to jump ship soon after. Should I be happy for them? Why should I be happy for a group of people that jump when it gets tough? I have no respect for those people and if you do then you are one of those people as well.

shrugs I’ve been here in Kaineng since day 1, I’ve witnessed LaZy, War, iSpy, noQQ, and many others jumped server, and taking more and more people away from Kaineng. Heck, even MY OWN GUILDMATE is taking people away from MY GUILD IN KAINENG to JQ or some other servers. Do I hate them? no. It’s just that people have different goals, and instead swear at them for abandoning you here, you should give them the best wishes on their safe journey in the future.

And as one of the biggest zerg leader in Kaineng, I’ll tell you this, zerg = upgrade wiper. The greatest strength of zerg is that it can take down things fast. But that is also their biggest weakness – they are waaaayyyyyy too crowded. A few nicely placed arrow carts + ballistas can easily hold of a large size of zerg anytime. When a zerg found a reasonable resistance, the leader should instantly be aware the fact that further more charging could mean leading the group to a death trap, and should avoid it at all cost. On top of that ,the zerg has already dealt quite a bit of damage to the enemy to focus their attention on re-capping + repairing all the post-war damage. which opens up more window of attack where zerg can be placed in better use. And once the re-cap + repair was done, and all the forces that were originally focusing on the repair/recap would then start look for targets to destroy/secure, that’s the time when zerg can come back in and sweep everything again, as wooden gates/walls are easy to take down with the force of a zerg.

Sure, some of you can say, then all you are doing is Karma train. Yes, and that is almost correct. But the correct term is, know what is your group, take advantage of your group, and abuse it to maximum.

You don’t use V3 rocket to kill infantry, and you don’t use heavy armored tanks to scout in forest. Each type has their specific role, so stick to it.

Just because you don’t zerg, and you found divide and conquer works well, that doesn’t mean others has to play the same tactic as you do.

I have to say that the cheating in this video game is getting horrid. As seen in this video and again today I saw yet another two people from Kaineng doing it in WvWvW. One from the guild Aris and another from SEER. Are they really that bad to have to cheat? Bejebus.

Woah isn’t this crazy? Me, the guy that calls it out a few days ago… gets trolled for it by the scrubs at KAIN. :/

This is just another QQ post from someone that got owned and demands a nerf on a class. I have played spvp tournaments and wvw against some great guilds and players and trust me when I say that warriors are by no means overpowered. If you spec out glass cannon in an ele for instance the fire grab can do 16k in one hit doing a total of 25k+ … thieves got nerfed a lot (a little too much imo). Also, I am guessing you are built backstab with 1k< toughness. Most classes are going to hit you pretty hard.

Warriors are pretty balanced imo they have durability but no real escape. The war has the endure pain and shield block (which can reflect but you can’t attack in). I’ve seen many different wars playing many different styles and just like with other classes you should focus on a balance and synergy. Glass cannons are fun for beginners but you shouldn’t whine when someone hits you hard.

Also I have seen some other complains about frenzy and HB in here.

1. frenzy makes warriors take 50% dmg, a drawback that I think most people can agree is pretty severe compared to other classes’ haste abilities

2. HB is easily countered and dodgable… sure it is preceded by a bolus or HB most of the time but you have to realize you can interrupt / escape out of the HB and also the warriors can take damage while doing it unlike some other classes with similar abilities (that do less damage of course)

All in all the warrior is OP if you have no idea how to play against one.

Also, no idea why this is in the wvw topic and not the suggestions or gw discussion forum.

I don’t say this often but honestly learn to play.

1st. He has to build up all the way to use that KS
2nd Even hasted the war has to take a knee and cast that for 3 good seconds (dodgeroll)
3rd Once casted he must build up to this again or if you’re smart enough to roll – wait a few seconds so he can try to do it again

Warrior bursts do a lot sure but can easily be dodged (HB eviscerate KS) and warriors have sort of a lack of escape spells.

Edit: why is a thief complaining about burst damage?

It seemed SoS was only on top until the other servers started getting people in your timezone and then once the zerg vs door stopped you stopped trying.

Sounds like logistics problems to me (you not having competent people in the right positions). Your burn out is on you and so is your whining that you’re the only ones holding wvw together… maybe the “bandwagon” isn’t the reason most guilds are leaving… just saying.

…and the “old kaineng” you’re talking about was kwbh and lazy being camped by borlis and devonas / fergusons at cliffside for 2-3 hours a day… nostalgic about that?

Xiir, I apologize for any animosity displayed towards Evermoor. That’s not the intention.
The supposed group of 15 lesser guilds that were tasked with KBL did not appear. KAIN, KR, and sometimes Thor and Leaf, were all that had any number at all in KBL at any time (save the last-minute intervention of you guys when we got back from the jumping puzzle).
A spiteful person by nature, this irritated me. There is no accountability in… well, in any guild that isn’t the aforementioned, WAR, or iSpy. And I’ve picked up the fact that we can’t directly make allegations on the forums, but I’ll just say that NO other big guild was reliable. Some were helpful, but not reliable.

Owning every open field fight for 3-4 hours was fun until what seemed like your whole server decided to come at us.

I am not going to apologize for anything my guild members did. You are our enemies, so why should we be nice to you? If they want to laugh emote after they’ve killed you then go for it… and we only target SoS out of zergs first because generally you guys die the fastest so its easiest to rally off of you guys.
