End Game at 80?

I usually avoid forums because I am somewhat of a book writer and not many people want to read a lot lol… but I wanted to say something about this. :P

The entire game feels like end game to my friends and I. What ruins the game for a lot of people, in my opinion, is rushing to 80 and then having nothing to do. We started playing around Sep 2nd, and we have been in the norn area since starting. We decided to do all of our home cities, one by one, in order to learn, and see what there is to know about the fascinating worlds we come from.

I can honestly admit I have not had this much fun in a video game since I was a kid, and truly feel this is the game I have been waiting for. I feel the need to take it insanely slow, and I imagine I will still be in the starting areas when I hit 40 lol. I want to see all the events, meet the npcs, and drink ale with friends every night while laughing and talking about the events of the day.

I guess what I am trying to explain is that… if you order this high quality, amazing meal from a great chef, and then you walk into the kitchen 10 minutes later and you want to see the finished product, you aren’t going to be happy with it yet. Enjoy the anticipation of what is to come, savor it, let your imagination go wild with all the flavors and how wonderful of an experience it will be. Don’t let the fact that you can’t have the cake and eat it too stop you from the experience of enjoying it. It’s meant to be savored and taken slow.

I actually think end game could be something else besides grinding like everything else. I would enjoy making up an endgame where I wander the world and help people I see that are in trouble, and I am happy when I get a “thank you” and that is a nice quest reward for me. ^^ It makes things unpredictable, and you never know when you will be in the chilly icelands and see a fellow flower being beat up by a bunch of trolls. Rush in to save them and almost die yourself!! \>o</ Nyaah!!! If they say thanks then it makes me smile.
(To the flower I saved, whoever you were, thank you for the quest. My reward was an unidentified dye and your thanks. <3)

Slow down and look around at the world. It’s beautiful! I started a photo album, and have been having so much fun. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for this game, and I will patiently wait to see it, while I slowly crawl through this content with my friends.

Anyway that’s my opinion. Just have fun getting to 80. There is no carrot on a stick. There are carrots everywhere. O_O Muahahaha!

Have fun, my fellow GuildWarriors. -/

You should have started your own thread with this! Not posted it on someone elses! Title it ‘The entire game feels like end game’ ^^

I think DLC has become something of an awkward thing. It can legitimately put great content into a game for people or it can be a quick money grab.
Historically speaking with ArenaNet they won’t charge you something unless it is something substantial (expansion etc).
At this time I feel I will be happy with what ArenaNet puts out because historically speaking it has always been substantial.

Honestly, why have you put yourself in this corner?

ArenaNet manifesto was about reinventing and making a game fun. Why does ‘End Game’ have to be where it starts?

There are many great ideas that people have posted about what you can do in game that can fulfill you for a long time. It’s only you idea that there HAS to be an ‘End Game’.

Aside from having to wait a few days for a reply I’ve had no problems.

Demand on GW2 has been unprecedented I think ArenaNet is doing the best they can.

tl:dr
That said skimming through the wall of text essentially most people are saying “But all I did was, all that happened was”.
Pressure on ArenaNet has increased 10 fold. They are struggling to keep up with bugs/exploits etc. let alone having to worry about people trying to be ‘inventive’ with things.
In the relatively anonymous world of GW2 people’s behaviours get worse not better. As such ArenaNet has to make examples of people or the behaviours/language will simply get worse.
The ‘unfair’ crack downs actually make people think twice. I have no doubt ArenaNet will relax a little in the future, for now though GW2 is a huge beast that has grown quicker than most could imagine. They have to keep on top of things, it’s that simple. So while they have to put up with people QQ here, it makes their job 10 times easier in game.

Nice to see a post like this.
Sure there will be those that are punished unfairly but ultimately i want a system like this to keep people accountable for their actions.

ArenaNet is onto these types of problems. However it looks like they have yet to come up with a solid solution.

If you’re account was hacked, then you should have an email in your inbox saying that somebody tried to login from another IP and you would have had to approve the IP for them to login. So basically, if you were hacked your email might have been hacked along with it. Probably a good idea to change both them passwords.

Otherwise you may have broken a rule without realising it and therefore you might not be able to get the permanent ban lifted.

This person should post everywhere.

ArenaNet is backlogged due to GW2 demand. They’ve literally stop digital downloads to keep up. The fact they have stopped taking in revenue to try and catch up with the backlog tells you something.

ArenaNet have taken measures because its a family game. If you don’t like that, then don’t play.
I for one am happy I don’t have to block/ignore every second player because of their inability to curb their own language.
Was 14 days too long? We have no idea, we don’t what was said, it’s duration or even if it was a one off.

In order to delete the Rytlock, you have to read the warning and, after that, confirm you really want to delete the character. So there are safeguards in place to prevent the accidental deletion of this one-time item.

Having said that, the team is looking at other ways to address this player concern. If you have submitted a ticket about this, you will be in the queue, and when there is a remedy you will be assisted.

Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for the feedback Gaile.
I remember a message to the effect of “Do you really want to delete this toon?” Was Rytlock mentioned?

I have submitted a ticket and hope to hear some favourable feedback.

Ah I just made a thread on this too.
In my rush to grab names I deleted my toon too. It seems pointless to not be able to reclaim my mini Rytlock, its account bound anyway yes? I cant sell duplicates.

In amongst the chaos of the 3 day head start I accepted a mail for DDE items only to delete that toon ( I wanted to grab names quickly).
In any event it wasn’t until some time later that I realised my egregious mistake it would seem as the mail was a one time only. So is that it? Have I lost my mini Rytlock?
Tbh honest I find this absurd given that its account bound. I should be able to make 100 mini Rytlock if I desired (not that you could do anything with them).
The point being there is no purpose to make it a ‘once off’ mail because I would not benefit by duplicating it.
