Minis? Lion Cub?

I’d use minis if you didn’t constantly need to keep taking them out. Go underwater? Change zones? Log out? Die? Gotta open your bags and double click that thing again. It’s way too annoying. If I activate a minipet, just keep the thing out until I put it away. Making it disappear underwater is fine since it would require more animation work otherwise, but have it pop back out by itself when I get back on land.

People have been singing this same song since before release. Personally, I think we should have an equipment slot for them. Maybe even have two so you can “mini-swap” like we do with weapons and Rangers do with their pets.

Realistically, there are much more important things that need fixing before minis get a polish.

Which class have the least viable builds?

in Players Helping Players

Elementalists, who pay for having four attunements with only three main had and two off hand choices for weapons.

Engineers only get Rifle, Pistol (main/off) and Shield.

As for the OP, ask a hundred players and you’ll get a hundred answers. Some builds certainly are broken and some are more broken than others, but just about anything is viable in PvE.

I wish I could sell the obs shards, I’ve got like 100 of them and have no use for them whatsoever since I’m not interested in grinding out legendaries:(

As was stated above: Mystic Clover recipe.

10 x Mystic Coin
10 x Obsidian Shard
10 x Ectoplasm
10 x Crystal

=

10 Mystic Clovers

OR

10-50 Tier 6 crafting materials (Orichalcum, etc.)
or
20-40 Fine Tier 6 crafting materials (Powerful Blood, etc.)
or
10 Lodestones
or
50 Ectoplasms
or
Moderately valuable junk.

The last time I bought Orrian Boxes, I got 3 assorted Lodestones from the Boxes and then a further 10 from the Mystic Clover recipe. I started with 20 Jugs and 220k Karma and ended up spending over 1 million Karma and making something like 16 or 17g.

Not only that, but the Rings drop as loot in lvl 10+ Fractals, and Infused versions of them drop in 20+(?) so it’s a complete waste of a very limited currency (Laurels). Imagine spending the Laurels, and then going to the time, effort and expense of Infusing it, only to have an Infused Ring drop a week later. No thanks.

The “under attack” notice at objectives now displays 30 seconds after it is first attacked. Does not affect waypoint usage.

does not affect waypoint…
where is the statement from A.net that they want to avoid blob and zerging?

Unless I’ mreading it totally wrong is something like “hills under attack, all to hills” defender die at hills and can respawn there en masse instead of having to go back from garri/citadel.
Nice, really nice.

And the other side of that coin is that waypoints are currently useless 95% of the time because they are always contested. All it takes is a single person to run past SM and knock on the door, or a person to hang around the water gate at Bay, for the WP to be unuseable. Maybe some people don’t mind spending gold on something that’s worthless most of the time, but I sure do.

Max Level 100 confirmed?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sokar Rostau.7316

I’m not putting my hand up for either side of this debate, just playing a bit of Devil’s Advocate.

It seems like some people think that exotic items are only available at level 80. They’re not. Just because most people never use them doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Having to get level 100 exotics as an upgrade to your level 80s (I think most people have found themselves wearing stupid things at level 80… like a lvl 30 helm or a lvl 40 ring), would be no more, or less, annoying than it is to equip at level 80 is now. And anyone that thinks it’s a chore to do that has never played other MMOs where it can, very literally, take you months to even have a chance of getting specific level cap gear.

I don’t remember what game it was, but I can remember somehting that had a good system for some items. Instead of having to throw them away when you find something better, specific items leveled with you and increased power as you leveled up. This would be the ideal solution for Legendaries and Ascended items – say a 2% increase to every stat (since the stats are all there twice on Ascended items) with every level.

As much as I would love more Trait points, I highly doubt that that will happen. I think a far more likely possibility is that an entirely new Trait line is added for each class to increase possible build diversity without an increase in Trait points. Another possibility is that a new Trait line is added with an additional 10 points to spend, which would give us access to more points without being too over-powered. What I think would be most likely, however, is that we get “Ascended Traits”. 10-20 points to spend anywhere in four Ascended Trait lines (each maxing out at 20 points) that are unlocked at level 80.

As far as the actual leveling process goes, there’s no point in complaining about that at all. There are very few games where it is as quick and easy to level up as it is in GW2. I also have the suspicion that the people who complain about how “long” it takes to get to 80 are the same that complain that there is nothing to do once they get there.

Quote: “Summoned creatures and pets can no longer draw aggro from enemies that have not already aggroed on their master.”

How’s this affect ranger pets and using them to pull though?

I don’t think it should since Ranger Pets are the only ones that can be directly commanded to attack something. I don’t know about Mesmers, but running around on a Necro with a pet out was really annoying sometimes – stop to do some mining and the pet would wander off and start beating on something that didn’t even notice you.

Are Thieves viable in dungeons?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sokar Rostau.7316

I have really noticed that it is usually the overall group, and not any individual class that makes or breaks a dungeon. Sad to say, since I play one, the Necro is the only class that I am hesitant to run a dungeon with if there’s more than one of them in the group, and that’s only because of the way Conditions work which often means one of the Necros is contributing very little.

With that said, bad players are bad players, regardless of class.

Boon Hate is brutally unfair to guardians.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

Except it isn’t a direct nerf to bunker builds, it is a direct nerf to all Guardian builds, everybody in the vicinity of the Guardian and every single build that ever uses boons.

Stripping boons is one thing. Corrupting boons is another. But this is something completely different. This is a direct damage buff, potentially almost on the level of a full stack of Vulnerability, to the class that already does the most damage.

But hey, maybe it’s ANet’s intention that Guardians only ever use Hammers and never use Save Yourselves, because that is the personal counter a Guardian has against boon hate – but the other classes impacted have no such “luxury” of being locked into using one weapon and never using a utility… they’re just going to die faster than they already do when a Guardian happens to be around.

As far as “L2P” goes, maybe if Warriors wore something other than Berserkers and used something other than Hundred Blades against Guardians that have Retaliation running, they wouldn’t be telling you to L2P. Maybe if you understood just how much more damage you do than any other class you would understand why bunkers exist and why you have no right to be complaining about them.

Boon Hate is brutally unfair to guardians.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sokar Rostau.7316

Notably absent from this thread is the broader consequence of boon hate.

Not all Guardians are bunkers, yet all Guardians give themselves and everyone around them boons left, right and centre with very little control over it. Ignoring the fact that every class can give themselves some form of boon at some point, this means that a boon hate Warrior is doing increased damage to everyone in the vicinity of a Guardian. For some classes, this is the difference between getting two-shot and getting one-shot. Who the hell will want to be near a Guardian when that is the consequence of having them around? Amusingly enough, Warriors have more to lose from this than any other class since they are the ones that are usually standing in the Guardians’ symbols most of the time.

Almost all builds have a trade off to get the abilities the player wants. If you want the maximum damage you have to give up surviveability. Bunkers are no exception, and in order for them to have high surviveability they have to give up damage. No class should ever be able to effectively defeat every single build of every class. So a Warrior can’t beat a bunker Guardian in the same three seconds it takes them to kill a Ranger, so what? A Ranger cannot ever do even close to the damage of a Warrior even when given three times the time. This is the antithesis of balance, and yet boon hate is a (BIG) step in exactly that direction.

This is the wrong solution to the wrong problem with the wrong consequences.

There was also a time when all jewellery you found (green/yellow/exotic) was account bound and couldn’t be salvaged, but this seems to have changed now.

Molten Mining Pick or WvW Ore Node Bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Yesterday I mined a Rich Mithril Vein at the Dredge in Eternal Battlegrounds, the result was 3 Mithril Ores.

Today I minekittenhril Vein and got one Mithril Ore, just south of Stonemist.

Both times I was using the Molten Pick.

I very rarely harvest anything in WvW, so this was not a case of mining the same node halfway and then being interrupted before returning some time later.

While I have occasionally gotten more, due to WvW bonuses, I have never had less than three pieces of ore come from a regular node or nine pieces from a Rich Vein.

Population by Class (and Race)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

From a completely subjective PoV, I disagree with your assessment of the population early on. Maybe this was only a Dragonbrand thing, but everywhere I looked in August/September there were Rangers… though I must admit that I didn’t see an Engineer until I was in the 20s. And before anyone jumps in, it wasn’t the Ranger bots, for some reason DB has never had a huge bot population.

My characters, in order of creation:
80 Human Ranger (August)
80 Human Necro (September)
45 Sylvari Elementalist (October)
80 Charr Guardian (January)
10 Asura Thief (April, but originally created in October and then deleted)

The reason I went with those races is because I feel that the races “match” the professions. I intend to make a Norn Warrior, a Human Mesmer and a Charr Engineer, but the Mesmer and Engineer will have to wait a while because, after doing it with Ranger and Necro, I am not a fan of doing essentially the same story twice in a short time.

DB won you lost, get over it.

They can’t. That’s the problem. DB knows exactly what we are up against if we go up a tier because we have fought almost every server above us and have been slaughtered by them. You see, while these guys are ranting about, and mocking, our “night crew” they simply don’t understand that all of the servers above us have, more or less, 24/7 coverage. They have larger “night crews” than we do, and they have “day crews” to match. In other words, if, and when, we swap with Kaineng these guys will simply not show up in wvw after the weekend because Kaineng will nightcap everything and annihilate them during the day… just like they did when they passed through t3 on the way up and just like FA and TC do every time they visit us. They’ll just come to the forums and whine.

Match Reset Change

in WvW

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

I’m not sure I quite get this change. From what I can tell it resets two (or three?) hours earlier than it has been.

For people in my timezone it means reset now happens a bit earlier in the morning and really shouldn’t impact us too much, but for people in other timezones the reset now appears to happen during business (and school) hours. This would imply that many people who are usually on at the time of reset will now still be at work.

Is this an effort to reduce server load at reset? I imagine that all those people spamming join at the usual reset time does strain the system somewhat. Is there another reason?

Edit to add – and as of the last reset TC brought in a few, very large of SEA/Oceanic guilds from CD. Luckily for the rest of us, it completely unbalanced the tier.

So… That guild from SoS that has just left TC… that wouldn’t by any chance be a certain traitorous guild that started on DB and then switched to SoS one night when SoS were whipping DB, and then switched again a couple of weeks ago when things were going bad for SoS, would it?

New WvW maps, a possibility?

in WvW

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

1. Each server gets their own borderland that reflects that server’s name. Dragonbrand actually is in the Dragonbrand, Maguuma actually is in the Maguuma jungle. These are released over a period of eight months to cover the eight tiers.

While themes would be nice, the BLs need to remain identical in form because that is the only way to guarantee balance between them and for all sides on the home-field. If you were to just put an overlay on the map, a skin of sorts, then sure, but I wouldn’t open the can of worms of different maps; no one wants to be on the server with the most disadvantageous map and everyone will want to be on the servers with the most advantageous maps.

What I think you, and some others, are forgetting is how deceptively designed the borderland maps really are. The whole point of their design is to funnel the two opposing teams towards the map owner’s positions at the top of the map.

Each borderland can be divided vertically down the middle. Each half of the map may have varying terrain, but for all intents and purposes they are the same. Players are herded along specific routes to get to their destinations. You can call these choke-points if you really like, but what they really are are roads with a couple of side-streets. While there are open areas, the feeling of openness on the borderlands is really an illusion. Likewise, there is an illusion in EB that it is a very closed area when it is, in fact, the most open of all the maps.

Since the “design philosophy” of the borderlands is to herd enemies towards either side of garrison, largely along specific paths, any new maps will follow the same pattern for the same reason. There is no “most advantageous” map now and there’s no reason to think there would be in the future… unless they change the design philosophy.

In a sense, the borderlands are already urban maps. You could reskin the entire map to replace all the cliffs with buildings and simply pave over the gravel paths and the maps wouldn’t real play any differently. The change of scenery would be good, though.

suggestion: making squads more usefull

in WvW

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

hey everyone,

I know that Arena Net is working on making commanders more usefull, and me and a guildie have been thinking of some stuff.

people tend not to join squads, while squads are very usefull because of the placement of attack and defence orders (I experimented with them and use them to show our attack and defence objective etc) and its more useful to quickly see how much supply you have.

I was thinking, maybe its possible to create a mechanism that the commander can activate a squad buff, that would add a bonus to all players who join the commanders squad.

also, I sometimes have a friend with me who watches the map etc, but he likes to see other commanders, so as example, give a option to show other commanders on the map but with a different icon/other color.

also it would be nice to have a small commanders interface, in which you can select what tower/camp/keep/castle you want to place your rally/attack/defence orders.

A persistent low percentage armour buff applied to all squad members within a limited, but useful, area. Call it “Commanding Presence”. Right now there is absolutely ZERO reason for most to join a squad and there is absolutely ZERO indication that you are even in a squad unless someone happens to say something in /squad chat. Right now, the ONLY thing the Commander’s tag is useful for is to indicate someone to follow, and even that is questionable some of the time. Having a buff like this would actually give people a tangible benefit to being in a squad.

I would like to see the squad icons expanded to something more along the lines of the LotRO system which has a selection of maybe 12(?) different icons. The commander can place an icon above a squad member’s head which indicates a certain role and serves as a way to sub-divide the squad (I would like to see at least 10 different icons – one for each class and one each for defence and attack). The commander and the person with the icon on their head can then paint that same icon on a target for everyone in that party to move to or focus fire on. It would also be incredibly useful for a commander to be able to paint the ground with an icon for the different siege weapons so that people know exactly where to put their siege equipment.

Hmm…

How about adding a 50g “Sergeant” tag? This would allow you to form a “platoon” of 10 people (let’s face it, a “squad” isn’t 30 people, so why not?). Using the above suggestion of expanded icons, the sergeant has all the same tools as the commander. BUT “Platoon” members do not count towards the squad limit. ONLY a sergeant can join a squad – you either join a squad or you join a platoon, unless you’re a sergeant you cannot do both. A sergeant is indicated on the map by a colour-coded icon depending on the icon they actually have over their heads. In this way the commander can put all of his Guardians together, all of his Mesmers together, all of his siege masters together, or whatever group is needed and direct them to do different things – everyone in the platoon led by the guy with crossed swords over his head attacks, or moves to, the target with the crossed swords, for example, or everyone following the guy with a dolyak on his head goes to attack the camp/’yak indicated by the corresponding icon.

Also… please, please, please, please give us some UI indication about being in a squad and who is in the squad with you.

All the frustration of this matchup is taking its toll. DB is rightfully ranked #7, Mag #8, and YB #9. Only major changes in WvW population is going to change that. Unfortunately that means Mag and Yaks are going to be facing this same scenario for the foreseeable future. I’d rather this thread devolve into the typical “X is awesome because we kicked Y’s butt”, than continued population and coverage comparison posts.

I have to disagree insofar as we all should be tier 3, but our ranks should rightfully change over time. A lot of people seem to forget, or simply don’t realise, just how close the last few weeks really have been. Just wait until FA, TC or Kaineng get knocked back to t3 again and then you’ll see an unbalanced match.

Personally, I took a break from the game and didn’t play between late November and mid-January so maybe things changed while I was away, but I have never played in anything other that tier 3 and I have been on DB since Headstart. This matchup has been consistently close just as other match-ups have been consistently unbalanced.

The real problem is morale so I would also remind everyone that DB has come back to win a match-up from a deficit of over 50k in the last two days of a match, more than once, so there is always hope.

I would also point out the most obvious issue but I fear that DB would lose if I did…

What server are you on? Imo this not the case on JQ, yea there are a few (the usual ones, always been like that) but its not a big deal. You just wp to closest to where you want and run there. Maybe try guesting. Oooo ic, you must be a Mesmer…

“Try guesting” is not a solution. Why should a player that is on Eredon Terrance (one of the lowest ranked WvW servers without the population to put up a fight), for example, have to play on Jade Quarry (the top WvW server with full 24 hour coverage) to enjoy the content?

Another problem is that many of the events that have the WPs contested are clearly Group Events, but they are not listed as GE and, obviously, do not give any such rewards. Either the events need to be down-scaled so that they can be solo’d or they need to be upgraded to full Group Events with appropriate rewards. I favour the latter, if only to get people away from the same handful of places.

Player Base: male and female ratio?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sokar Rostau.7316

There seem to be far more females playing GW2 than other games I’ve played, and more married couples playing together, too. I think at least part of the reason is that GW2 isn’t as… “masculine” as other games of the genre and has many “girly” elements to attract female gamers. Both Legendary bows are extremely feminine, for example. As a guy, I find Skritt to be really cool and they make me smile… but Quaggans are just far too cutesy (though still amusing at times) to have been designed by a guy for a male audience.

None of that is a bad thing, by the way.

New WvW maps, a possibility?

in WvW

This stupid forum logged me out while posting and ate my post.

1. Each server gets their own borderland that reflects that server’s name. Dragonbrand actually is in the Dragonbrand, Maguuma actually is in the Maguuma jungle. These are released over a period of eight months to cover the eight tiers.

2. Three new “neutral” borderlands are added (for a total of four) in the same time-frame. These maps are different from other maps in that they clearly favour the owners.

4. A new EB is added every four months and changes weekly.

5. Once 2/3 of the new maps are in place, map rotation begins with the team that comes in third each week being placed one of the four “neutral” maps. In this way, even if the same three servers are fighting each other week after week there is still variety.

Yes, I am well aware of the massive amount of work involved, but this game is meant to last for years, is it not? People are already bored of the borderlands. We need variety and the more variety the better.

Incoming WvW class nerfs

in WvW

Sokar Rostau.7316

One of the most important things about WvW in making it attractive to people is that you can do it without changing your traits or gear. That doesn’t mean that swapping them isn’t a good idea, but it means that you don’t have to in order to be effective.

The second thing that needs to be remembered is that WvW is not sPvP. If you want to have 1v1 – 5v5 fights that is what sPvP is for. As much as people kitten and moan about the large group fights, that is what WvW is designed for, not for loners and small parties. “Roamers” have strategic value, but they are no more, or less, important than a well placed catapult.

So long as these two things are remembered in any changes then WvW shouldn’t be harmed. Shouldn’t…

Can we get spread shot to hit things not directly on the same elevation now please? Sooo pointless on a massive cooldown.

I would be somewhat happy with the cooldown if the damage was vastly increased. The few times I have had the opportunity to use it it has been utterly useless and I was dead before the global cooldown was up. If it was capable of one-shotting three targets, regardless of class/HP, it would be perfect and encourage people to do more than just charge headlong into siege equipment.

What is the point of leader boards?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

There used to be a leaderboard site for LotRO which displayed All-Time, Monthly, Weekly and Daily “rankings” and included each player’s guild. This covered all servers, or only a selected one. While the All-Time lists remained fairly static, the Monthly and Weekly lists were pretty dynamic and the Daily list changed constantly.

As for the “server firsts”, I was a founding officer in a LotRO guild that achieved about 75% of the server firsts… and the server was 4-5 months old before we even started trying. Some of those “firsts” still hadn’t been successfully completed when I left the game, two years after the server opened. My point is, though, that you don’t need to be starting a game in Headstart/Beta and playing 16hrs a day to get these things. Unfortunately, though, GW2 doesn’t have that kind of content.

Talk about elitism

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

Sorry but this isn’t the level of elitism is the Guild Wars 2 community. This is one group of elitists in the Guild Wars 2 community. I’ve never played an MMO that didn’t have elitists. Even Guild War 1, not a true MMO, had elitists. It’s unavoidable.

You’re right to be kitten off. But please don’t paint the entire community with one brush. I think by percentage there’s less elitism in this game than most MMOs. You just got dealt a bad hand.

I hope so. I suppose you don’t really notice it until you’re the one being kicked. I have seen elitists in many FOTM parties that I let slide because it didn’t happen to me. I have seen members kick other members over gear issue and I didn’t do anything because I wanted to stay in the party.

You’re usually best of joining a guild of like minded people and running with them. It’s much better than pugging anyway, at least for me.

There are horror stories of elitism in every game I’ve ever played, but far less here than in most. That’s because the game is designed to be less competitive. There’s no DPS meters, so no one can look at your DPS and say you haven’t done your job. There’s no gear score to exclude you up front. Some people say the achievement point leaderboard is a step in that direction, but if so it’s a baby step. I’m pretty sure Anet isn’t trying to design a game that fosters elitism.

I’ve seen LFG’s demanding 3500+ Achievement points before the leaderboards… I guess it escaped their little brains that someone could have easily got all their points from salvaging junk.

Stacking Conditions on Small Guilds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

Update, 4/6:

In order to address certain exploits, the following changes have been made to summoning Guild Vault Transports:

Guild Vault Transports are now unlocked with Economy level 5 instead of Economy level 2. The cost has been increased from 50 influence to 1 Guild Merit and 50 influence.

Guild Vault Transports can no longer be summoned in instances.

I’m all for fixing exploits and I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know what the exploit referred to here was, but from reading this I see two things:

Summoning Guild Vault in an instance is an exploit? Fair enough, I can see how that could be considered an exploit. This has been fixed.

Are guilds that do not have Economy 5 and spare Merits exploiting the system? Really? Whatever a guild that doesn’t have Econ 5 and a spare Merit can do, a guild that does have those things can also do, so this isn’t fixing an exploit. This seems to be yet another way of punishing small guilds for not conforming to the “faceless members in a crowd” mentality?

Small guilds are afflicted with conditions and ANet just keeps stacking them on while piling on the Boons for large guilds. It’s not this particular change that irks me, since it is, to me, a pretty useless upgrade to start with, it’s just that it keeps getting worse and has been this way since the beginning.

At first it was the guild buffs – people were unwilling to join or represent guilds that didn’t have things like MF buffs going. Then we had the Missions, and we all know how that went. The Mission “fix” was a great idea, but it still falls flat because players want the Commendations and will join/rep the large guild that is already running “proper” Missions. And now we have a new upgrade that has been taken away from the small guilds using “exploits” as an excuse.

Last night I saw someone advertising their new guild in /map and I felt genuinely sorry for them.

would you rather major traits be universal?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sokar Rostau.7316

Sokar Rostau.7316

What he’s talking about is this:

Currently, Altruistic Healing (apply a boon to allies heals you) is one of the most popular Guardian traits. AH is in the Valour line which gives Toughness/Condition Damage. Empowering Might (land a crit and give Might to allies) is an ideal synergy, especially since it is in the Honour line which increases Vitality/Healing Power. Note that the perfect main stat for those traits is Precision but it is unavailable. If we had a pool of traits to choose from every single Guardian would put 30 points into Radiance (Precision/Condition Damage) and then use AH and EM.

Sokar Rostau.7316

I kind of like the idea of being able to swap out one “second stat” (I don’t want to call them minor since most are far from it) from two trait lines that you are using to any stat from one you’re not. Maybe have it so that you can only do it to one trait line that is maxed out so a 30/30/10 build would only be able to swap stats in the line with 10 points and one of the two 30s, but a 5/5/20/30/10 build could change everything except the 30.

Or another way could be:

From 70 trait points you have 140 stat increases. You are allowed to swap the stats for 40 trait points (80 stat increases) from anywhere, in increments of 5 trait points (10 stat increases). This would potentially mean having builds that have a trait line with 30 points invested into it and has four different stats being raised.

That probably makes more sense to me than anyone reading this…

Tsym used to be a DB guild, but when they saw SoS soundly beating us for several weeks in a row they jumped ship to the winning side. So welcome to the club SoS. Tsym doesn’t like losing and whatever server they move to will find this out sooner or later.

That’s not the point of this post, though. I just wanted to come in and out the SoS guild [Leet]. They have been spotted several times now doing something that allows them inside of Stone Mist. Rangers, Warriors and Thieves, among others, suddenly appearing inside walls and doors that are undamaged. And no, it’s not Mesmers hiding inside the castle for several hours.

I got a Naga about 6 weeks ago. I use 10 of the 12 thumb buttons for skills 1-0 and that’s it. Buttons 11 and 12, and the two buttons behind the scroll wheel are too awkward for me to use for anything that’s left over (though I suppose I could use one of them for the map).

One thing that I have noticed, however, is that I now spam auto-attack for some reason. I just can’t help it and hit that button over and over and over. Poor thing is going to get worn out.

I haven’t been able to find this scene on YouTube, so this quote will have to do:

Anya: There was this other apocalypse this one time. And, well, I took off. But this time, I don’t… I don’t know.
Andrew: Well, what’s different?
Anya: Well, I guess I was kinda new to being around humans before. And now I’ve seen a lot more, gotten to know people, seen what they’re capable of and I guess I just realize how amazingly… screwed up they all are. I mean, really, really screwed up in a monumental fashion.
Andrew: Oh.
Anya: And they have no purpose that unites them, so they just drift around, blundering through life until they die. Which they-they know is coming, yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them. They’re incapable of thinking about what they want beyond the moment. They kill each other, which is clearly insane, and yet, here’s the thing. When it’s something that really matters, they fight. I mean, they’re lame morons for fighting. But they do. They never… They never quit. And so I guess I will keep fighting, too.
