I join unranked arena with 5 vs 5 solo players.
The preparation for the game starts. We have 1 minute.
During that time I check my regional and language settings because I want to add a language to the keyboard. I mess the things bad and I delete the whole keyboard list. I press with the mouse the icon of the game and try to move …… nothing happens. I can only activate skills with mouse.
The game starts. Kyhlo map. I can`t move.
My team is doing great and is equal to the enemy team.
I know that I should help.
Press 5. Jump a few meters. Wait for the CD.
The goal was to reach the close cap and load the turrets.

I JUST NOW 10:46pm CST was end of the match, had a different bug happen.
My teammate appeared to D/C from the match – he was gone from top left corner as well as the ‘B’ screen. However he came back shortly after when looking at the ‘B’ screen he was there again, but for like 2 minutes he still never showed up in the map or even in the top left, only on the ‘B’ screen. At near the end of the match he actually loaded into the match.
He was gone for at least 2 minutes but he wasn’t missing from the ‘B’ screen for a full minute. It seems to be a scenario that it should be treated as a desertion but probably wasn’t.
Do you happen to remember the time? In general, if you can tell me that, the timezone, the account (if not the one you’re posting from), and the datacenter (NA/EU) it goes a long way toward helping me find issues faster.
I know you said you ‘just’ had the bug, but the relative time the forum uses, and however long it took you to post, makes it harder for me to narrow down a game when there can be any numbers of games played in that time window.
it was CST time zone. Idk if you can see the exact time I posted this thread, but it was a few minutes before that.
has no one else had this? does no one have a suspicion of what might have actually happened?
just had a queue bug with multiple pops at once and match wouldnt start.
it had gone to map selection.

And I think it make sense that it would not apply to things like a traited warhorn converting a condition into a boon. That would still work because you aren’t really applying a boon, you’re converting a condition.
Less condis, not more plz.
If you read it, this would better be described as "fewer boons’ than as “more condis”
I have an idea that would provide more counterplay options against the most dominant builds in the meta and therefore take the game to a more balanced state.
It would be a new condition – I personally like the name Mortality, but the name is irrelevant.
The condition would prevent boons from being applied to you.
It wouldn’t be tough to rework a few traits, weapon skills, utilities, and maybe a rune set and sigil to incorporate this condition.
Primarily Mesmer and Necro would have the best access to it, although in most cases they would have to give up something they are currently using (trait, utility, sigil, etc) in order to get it.
Let’s have an example vs a D/D ele. You would want to carefully time your applicaton of Mortality to try and proc it right before he does his fire rotation (if you want to limit his might stacking) or right when/before he switches to water (if you want to prevent his regen and protection). It would not be a hard counter, because it would not be guaranteed to land it every time, plus the ele can switch up his rotations to try to throw you off and avoid the Mortality (swapping to water mid-dodge, for example). So it would be simply a counterplay option
In the big picture I believe this would bring just a few more Necros, Mesmers, and/or Rangers (depending on who would have the best access without giving up too much) back into a meta role because of better counterplay againts the currently dominant celestial-type classes, and then we might start seeing average of more like 2 celestial per team instead of 3+
The balance would only work though if the access to the condition was put in smart places, with consideration of exactly what would have to be given up, as well as exactly what durations, CD, etc make sense to make it a viable counterplay option without completely shutting down other builds (back to my example, the winner of the fight would partially be determined by how well you timed and landed the condi vs how well the ele was able to manage boon proc’ing). It would make boon stackers have to think a little bit more carefully about how they stack boons instead of just passively gaining them through a cookie cutter skill rotation.
larger guilds will have several teams. all of their teams will contribute towards the guild’s overall ratings. A guild with several very strong teams would probably be among the top of the LB. but a single guild with a single team of 5 of the best players can also be #1, depending on how the LB is actually set up.
i really dont see any need for a macro nor can i think of any macros that would give a significant advantage that can’t be done manually.
masteries are for maguuma and account bound
specializations are completely separate things.
in pvp you will get access to a new weapon per class and new healing, elite, and probably 3 utility skills. AND a different class mechanic if you choose. he was saying druid for example has its own profession mechanic that is different than ranger (which means probably will replace your pet if you choose it)
Guild Wars 2’s combat is too good to have a game mode that emphasizes mostly macro strategy instead of combat. The macro strategy needs to rely on the ability to win fights.
I took it as the specializations were only available in PvE, which would make it a non-issue for balance in PvP. Was I mistaken? It seemed like something “to help you get through the jungle”.
masteries are only in pve. specializations are not the same thing.
my opinion is that i do not have enough information to really say anything.
what if the NPCs only attack the gate, and its the only way to destroy the gate?
then the only reason you have to kill the NPCs is to keep from having your gate destroyed because you failed to stop the other team from hiring them because they beat you in a team fight.
there are so many possible ways it could be implemented it makes no sense to start forming opinions just yet.
actually, adding new class specializations and a new class could be a way to CREATE better balance rather than disrupt it, IF that is the route Anet chooses when creating the skills, traits, etc
what I mean by that is the ‘new things’ could be specifically designed to counter what is currently OP.
but we all know they will be designed based on PvE first and foremost so most likely we will see some strange meta shifts upon release and 3-6 months after that we will start to see balance changes and blah blah blah so on so forth
i would be very surprised if as a ranger you would not have access to a staff and druid mechanics in PvP.
at the very most, it would cost skill points + gold to unlock in PvP just like the last new amulets and GM traits do.
i agree there is not yet enough information for us to judge how the new game mode will be.
How is it done? I thought this was random, then i noticed i am facing 5 players from the same guild who are totally organized and destroying my team of randoms.
ummmm you can team queue unranked.
if they are in ranked they will get kittened out and told to practice.
in practice is where people SHOULD be nicest.
but w/e people are morons.
i have checked a lot of matches and a very high margin of the games i am facing larger premades than my team. usually all pugs vs a team of 2/3/4/5.
ive seen dev comments that it is a rarity. it isn’t with me.
is my MMR in a certain range or something that I am getting this very much more often?
in a lot of cases it doesnt ruin the match though….. just curious really

wat? this is off season. it basically is the test season you speak of. there are no rewards and justin is working on changes that can be implemented at any time as well as doing calculations of how those changes would have played out.
JUST had another hacker. thief teleporting all around the map. after killing him i watched the timer. it was forest and 19 seconds after i stomped him he was back on our home point.
i know thief shortbow and shadow step w/e you can move fast, but 15 sec respawn you are telling me a thief can get to far in 4 seconds?
this is starting to get out of hand.
idk… to proc it you have to invest in krait runes and use your elite skill…. it doesnt seem to OP. but im guessing it works well for putting condis on someone in stealth and that maybe the issue you have?
I don’t know where you got it in your head that logging as a thief means you wont get other thieves :>

i believe red won because higher combined personal scores
after reset i started off like 2-9 in ranked solo. and im normally around 55% when i solo queue.
but now after about 70 games things have evened out and i am getting fewer and fewer idiots on my team, but more and more good players on the enemy teams.
and im back up to about 55% where i should be.

more to the point I don’t think you would want to bother because you cannot get a ‘win’ if you switch classes.

About the stomping…Don’t be so sure people are hacking always, sometimes they just bug out and you can’t stomp them. Their body is visible at a different place than it actually is. It’s about time they fix this bug.

i reported for botting but there was no where for me to describe the issue so thats why I posted on the forum
he is saying if everyone on your team is way higher than you in points, it means you didnt rotate for kitten (you didnt even put a tag on the enemies) and that means they did all the work. doesnt mean you’re bad, just means you arent the one that carried that game by any means.
no i definitely get the in combat slowness sometimes on respawn
and i know 100% because my weapon swap sigils activated. i was like why am i so slow am i in combat? so i swapped weapon and yep 3 stacks of might bam.
just had a teammate singhineer that was an engi and he was porting all around the map.
it was forest and he ported from mid to home in 2 ports took him like 5 seconds.
then later he ported from home around behind mid to far in like 10 seconds. his toon on the mini map would just jump huge distances instantly.
he was on my team i dont know that the enemy witnessed this but i sure did and it is not kittening ok that people can do this in pvp. please move this post to the appropriate area if necessary. but someone needs to see what he is doing.

If yes, that is very broken.
for example queueing as thief so my odds of getting more incompetent thieves on my team is much lower, however my intention is to swap to something else.
i haven’t done this yet because i just thought of it and i decided i’d better see if it is acceptable behavior before I do.
specifically, it refers to the profession balance factor of matchmaking combined with the fact that swapping is allowed (within the 1 min grace period)

well when a solo team does well, its completely appropriate to say, “hey guys want to queue as a team for next match?”
On a related note, I’d like to know why I’m sometimes in combat on respawn, having to deal with the combat speed debuff when leaving base.
Maybe you applied a 16 second damaging condition before you died?
As for the random damage, it’s only a visual bug with floaters. I see it occasionally, but it doesn’t put me in combat.
applying a condition that is still in effect when you respawn does seem like the most likely…
however it happens to me on bunker guardian. im pretty sure i dont have any condition that lasts 16 seconds….. unless i added onto a duration that existed already and its a LILO setup???
im just saying at a high level of play its a bit too easily countered.
just 5v4 on 2 points until the MM is forced to join the fight, then AoE will render him mostly useless
if enemies are fighting you for several minutes on your own node, then they are bad.
i am not at all saying you can’t be really good AT being a minion necro, sure you can, but for conquest game mode it just has some major inherent flaws. its a point holder build that sux in team fights, but there are other point holder builds that hold points equally as well but do much better in team fights.
if you’re not trying to be super competitive then there is no harm in just playing what you like as long as its not something really stupid like zerker rifle warrior
i respawned in combat a couple times on foefire but i did not notice actually taking damage or anything.
you didn’t check your combat log to see what hit you?
its more of a hybrid sustain meta.
almost every top team has at least one celestial amulet d/d elementalist and at least one engineer. thieves are still pretty standard but they have moved more to S/D rather than full on burst. hambows are much less common than before, often replaced by celestial amulet shout sword/wh LB. not too many necros or mesmers around, but they are not completely missing. spirit rangers are virtually non existent anymore. the rangers that we do see from time to time are power LB snipers.
guardians are less common – every team used to have one and that is no longer true. a lot of top teams still use a bunker guard but its no longer required for success. as far as the bunker guards themselves, the builds have not really changed.
i’d suggest just go watch some of the recent ESL tournaments to get up to speed.

there is ranked arena and unranked. either arena you can queue as a team or solo.
i suggested that it should jsut tick points for your personal score while you are in combat and on or within range of a node that is not controlled by the enemy.
this rewards people for fighting on points.
also, if you are part of the fight for that node, then if it gets decapped/full capped within like… 30-60 seconds after the fight, you get credit for the cap/decap no matter where you are on the map. this would mean it is completely pointless to double cap a point since you’ll get credit any way if you were there.
problem is you just have to sit home all day and leave your team 4v5. youre way too slow to try run decaps, and youre useless in a team fight due to all the aoe spam.
so it can work well yes, but the higher level of play you reach the less and less and less it work.
I’ve been away for about a year now, and have found myself missing the combat of GW2 pvp. A quick look at the forums does little to fill me in on what’s happened in the past year; I see complaints about the leaderboards and matchmaking, discussions of why we aren’t esports, and all the same stuff I saw last year. So what have I missed? What’s better now, what’s the same, what’s worse?
