The effect bugs (like aegis are being addressed).
Please, don’t forget to also address various combat effects (you can see that quickly on a longbow ranger using Rapid Fire, there goes your instant epileptic seizure), including all the various autoattack “flashes”. As it is now, the current first person camera is an actual health hazard (to people more sensitive to these kinds of conditions.)
On a slightly related note – I realize it is most probably out of scope of the current camera changes, but do you maybe plan at some point to introduce a ‘real’ first person mode that would properly include weapons models, animations, maybe even an ability to – dunno – see one’s own boots when looking down? I realize the current engine likely wasn’t built for this at all (well, that is a common theme with Guild Wars 2, is it), but I’m just curious if this is possibly an agenda for some later point in time, or simply straight out impossible and not planned, ever.

That’s strange, I just re-checked in my wardrobe (on two account, both of which have the skin) and the Green Quaggan Backpack is there all right. I’m not 100% positive about it, but I think I most likely unpacked the skins only after the patch, not before. Maybe that’s what causing you the trouble? Did you try applying the skin to some item?

My guess would be that you most probably just forgot to unpack the set into the actual backpack skin (and the additional wearable strap), and it is the set you’re trying to rightclick, which obviously won’t work. Try checking if that’s not the case.

I already mentioned in the third post from the top that warrior shield block won’t affect the throw at all.
I will now close it.” – Moderator
Anyone else noticed this?
Yes, WvW borderlands “veteran wurm”, same stone throw. Warrior with shield block engaged gets the full damage along with knockback/knockdown.
Elementalists, which were previously able to reflect the stones back at the wurm now also receive the full damage and knock effects, completely unaffected by reflection (which I assume is the same for all other reflection classes and skills, but personally tested only on ele).
My little conspiracy theory is that this is actually the reason why the throw was changed to unblockable, so players are no longer able to let wurms suicide themselves, but hey, who knows why anet does what they do.

Maybe because the bug is not reproducible based on the amount of detail (or lack of) that you provided?
I’ve been playing on windowed fullscreen on several computers with different configurations ever since beta and never experienced the issue you describe. In fact, I’ve never even actually heard of anyone having this problem in the first place and I’ve been explicitly setting windowed fullscreen for several other people who use it to this day.
While that alone shouldn’t warrant lack of any reply on your ticket (well, the quality of anet’s tech support is kinda ’phenomenal’, so let’s be honest while at it), I’m just saying that the issue is most likely far from being as crystal clear as you see it. You should probably do some more testing on your side and provide additional information if you want to see it resolved.

While of course this has been nothing new since the launch, after somebody posted about it on the forums again today, I counted only now – like at this very moment:
Four different Gunnar’s Hold thieves in Gandara Borderland Citadel exploiting their broken stealth mechanics to gain access into the invulnerability spawn zone, freely killing npcs, merchants, black lion traders, craft masters, pretty much anything that’s not bolted down to the ground.
Four. Four actual people in different places in the Citadel at almost the same time. I can only assume the exact same is happening in different borderlands, because this is hardly a unique or random occasion.
Could you please you in Anet, finally after what it has been – year and a half? – start keeping your beloved stealth professions in check a little bit? It would be much appreciated by some of the folks still trying to play this game in a kind of, you know, normal way.

Hi!
Has anyone else noticed FPS drops since the wintersday patch?
To me, the massive performance degradation has been exactly this same the last Wintersday (and to a lesser extent, Halloween… mentioning just in case you didn’t play or didn’t notice back then). This hits Lion’s Arch especially badly, but for some reason, translates even to maps that visually didn’t change at all (maybe the game engine carries some runaway scripts from LA with you wherever you go next, who knows. There has been once a situation with Fireheart Rise that did something similar, more or less forcing you to restart the client every time you left that map… but I didn’t have that happen to me for a while now).
In any case, seeing that a whole year later, the very same issues are back, I’d just wait for anet to drop the Wintersday theme some time mid-January, and as I assume, the performance will be instantly back to normal. It would be like, for the fourth time.

Oh right, good old warriors. Have to share my own too then.
Happened yesterday in SPVP, after interrupting warrior’s stomp from downed, downing him in turn (still while downed), interrupting his next stomp after he got back up with vengeance (still while downed), and finally killing him after my chain-on-the-leg pet somehow managed to revive me, mere moments before getting stomped again.

I played a Ranger to use bows..
Well, there’s your problem. The master of weapons is the warrior. You can get yourself a longbow, a sword and warhorn, dress yourself as a professional archer and do very well in WvW and open world PvE right now.
No there is only your problem and that problem is clearly reading comprehension.
This comes from a character creation screen of the game, you – seemingly accidentally – play:
Rangers are proficient with the bow. They rely on a keen eye, a steady hand, and the power of nature to slay their targets. Their loyal pets, which rangers tame and train, distract enemies while the rangers strike safely from a distance.
If needed, I can at any time embolden the parts about bows and a distance for you.

A short explanation for those missing the mild fun of it:
It has been a popular meme on these forums lately, that every time rangers get nerfed to the ground (that’s like, every single balance patch), fanboys start pouring out en masse, screaming "zomg go QQ ur noobz teh Aragern was teh ranger and he was only using teh sword man lol!!!" in quite perfect unison.
Reality check: He wasn’t.

There was a rumour that a ranger once beat a thief in WvW, ANet just had to act on that.
I have to sincerely apologize to everyone involved, especially the whole ranger community, but this was – incidentally – my fault.
Some days ago, I had to go run a WvW puzzle fairly quickly, to catch up with my daily before the reset.
The closest character ready to do the job quick and dirty was this one, sort of obsolete, ranger of mine (fairly obsolete since I mastered a warrior, a thief, an elementalist, and a guardian, wouldn’t you think), so this all being late in the night, and me not really thinking much at that point, I jump her into WvW like that’s actually a place for a ranger to be.
So here I am, running towards my daily puzzle, when a supply camp – Bluevale, was it? I think it was – suddenly flips right next to me and this lone thief that just soloed it on his own fires towards me, you’d say – literally out of the doorstep.
Seeing there’s really not much point in trying to run – I’m on a ranger, right – I decide to wait this half a second that takes him to close the gap to me, and meet him head on in a fair and decent fight (please, you, person in the back row, don’t chuckle. This is a serious matter after all). Checking my skill belt, I notice I still have a Signet of Stone equipped from that day I was testing something in PVE and subsequently forgot to remove it – after all, we all know rangers are not supposed to bring it into any fair and square pvp and pointlessly keep delaying all the master classes from killing them for a few dragging seconds, but oh well – it seems that incidentally, I just did exactly that.
So hey, it was late, I was tired, I notice the signet there, so what I am to do? Yes, I hit it, just for the fun, you would say. To my shock and awe, and most importantly – to my incredible luck, what unfolds in front of my eyes over the next minute is the most terrible and incompetent thief play I have ever seen in my life, and so this thief literally unloads his entire bursts, several times over and over, into my invulnerable signet, while my pet wolf is able to land two actual true hits on him, bringing him to what seems like a half of his hp (wolves are extremely op and should be removed from the game, I believe every decent soul can can agree on that any time).
So this Thief is starting to panic, blows out his shadow refuge and instantly breaks it again for no apparent reason, which somehow allows me to land a hilt bash on him, stunning him for about an actual second, thus additionally allowing me to hit him once or twice in close range, while actually being visible. After that, he heals to near full hp and starts blinking out of my range with his shortbow.
It might have been an instinct, I’m not sure, but I quickly switch to my shortbow too, and despite all the odds, no magical “obstructed!” appears and I successfully land a concussion shot on him right as he is about to cross the 1200 range, quickly followed by a crippling shot, which again allows my pet to land a third and final hit on him during this fight.
So exploiting my crazy op pet’s melee damage and my insanely overpowered shortbow crossfire, I manage to down the thief – and kill him – still leaving me with about 100-150hp left in the end.
Despite all my good manners, I’m so overwhelmingly baffled by this fight, that I can’t resist and in a cheerful spirit, I /laugh an emote in direction of his body, still lying in a pose conveying a complete state of shock and amazement.
Little did I know at the moment that this was, presumably, Jon Peters’ secret thief balance testing character, and by my indecent and arrogant actions, I presumably shattered said character’s virtual world into tiny little pieces for the rest of his virtual life.
I did not know, and I apologize for this. I apologize to all my fellow rangers, and I apologize to this – presumed, of course – Jon Peters’ secret character, for what I did.
I know I can’t take it back, but let’s not punish everyone else for it. I take all the responsibility – ban my Ranger from the game, and revert the latest patch for everyone else. I deserve it. They don’t.
Let’s just pretend that at that day, that one, sole kill never happened.
Please.

Most serious rangers left long before this abomination of a patch happened, so you were probably the last few clinging to the last strands of hope.
It has been repeatedly and repeatedly shown that nobody in Anet’s "game balance" team ever actually played rangers for longer than three minutes, and so they only see them as cheap cannon fodder for their FOTM pimped up mesmer balls of fury (or as formerly, their permainvis 1on8 tanking murdering thief machines, though looks like they got a bit tired of those lately).
Don’t want to be constantly playing cannon fodder, mindlessly padding someone else’s stats while he laughs at you wearing level 40 blue gear? Don’t want to be relegated to sitting back in a tower watching upgrades ticking, or guarding some dumb circle in some god-forgotten SPVP game mode that nobody cares about?
Pick from one of the actually working ranged GW2 professions, in this order, and have your fun in either WvW, and PVE:
Warrior
Mesmer
Thief
Engineer
Elementalist
Necromancer
Guardian

Why do you keep saying we in your post? You’re not representing anyone but yourself.
I don’t know the original poster, I’m not in any way affiliated with him, and yet his post reads like a bible on everything what is wrong with the Thief class. This, by definition, makes him also represent me, and my own concerns (and also voices the concerns of few other people I personally know, that are constantly getting bitten by how horribly broken the Thief class is). This, incidentally, makes the word “we” perfectly in place in any part of his post.
So thanks for playing, and better luck next time.
It’s pretty amusing though, how you’re attempting to say that people will leave if thieves aren’t nerfed into oblivion when thieves being nerfed as badly as you want would almost assuredly send many, if not more people away because the class they enjoy is now useless.
Less trolls in a game I enjoy to play? Now that’s some very good news, thank you. I hope there are some actual nerfs in place this time, after the last series of jokes pretending to be thieves nerfs and fixes.

The new culling method is hilariously terrible and hardly does what was advertised.
Just today, I ran into a supply camp, alone, seeing a lonely enemy ranger pet attacking the guards.
No large scale explosions, no flying projectiles, no hit flashes (being at the mercy of this engine for months, I kind of know what to watch for by now), nothing... just a lone pet attacking some guards.
"Okay", I’m thinking "I guess I’ll just look for your master somewhere over those sheds as I run past you".
And oh boy, so I did.
The moment I’m in the middle of the camp, 10 to 20 enemies start rendering all around me, AOEs blasting everywhere, projectiles of every single type flying in my face, and I find myself in the middle of a warzone. A warzone now slowly becoming directed solely at me.
This after I’ve been walking to the camp for good 20-30 seconds, watching a sad, lone pet exchanging blows with a group of guards.
Absolutely surreal.
Absolutely surreal for an MMORPG PVP game 4 months after release.

Depending on the time, place, and situation (i.e. in TCBL during off-peak hours for easier illustration), it will be most probably resembling something like this:
[02:45] “Jumped by 4-5 FA in ruins, they move down on Hero’s. 2 thieves, 1 necro confirmed.”
[02:45] “We’re two at HL”
[02:45] “Ok, intercepting from briar, keep stalling them”
[02:46] “omw too, status at heros?”
[02:46] “FA ranger down, kiting rest east towards you”
[02:47] “All down, 1 thief wped”
[02:48] “ok, HL is clear now”
[02:48] “Two YB hitting RW.”
[02:49] “Nevermind, died to guards.”

Personally I won’t be going to TC. From what I understand, it’s the role play server, and that’s not my style.
Some clarifications to this:
You can play on TC for a month long, each day, PVE and WvW, and don’t meet a single actual roleplayer. It happened.
You can meet some roleplayers on TC, and they won’t be forcing you to roleplay with them. In fact, they would most probably ignore you even if you tried (RPers are generally used to everyone making fun of them, so they just shut out the outside world and filter out anyone not from their group).
Finally, there is virtually no RP in TC’s WvW apart from one particular higher-profile guild (that I know of), and even that from my experience generally boils down to occasionally shouting “For Ascalon!” during battles.

I hear that after TC mustered the strength of 200 (took them about an hour or so) and finally made a push on Titanpaw, the three FA defenders (you see, it was three actually) simply walked out in protest, just killing some odd 100 while at it.

Some days ago, a full-exotics level 80 Yak Bend player was messaging me, clearly deeply hurt to the point of being shocked (he wasn’t pretending), after I killed him in our (TCBL) jumping puzzle. I just ran there for my blueprints, met a red player, dispatched him - really nothing out of ordinary.
Now, he started asking me about how good I feel about myself, attacking people in a puzzle, and as he wouldn’t ever do such disgusting thing, as he and his men only fight on the real battlefield and whatever, I wasn’t paying much attention by then, but his point was supposed to be something about that.
Well, looks like that nice concept works for them only as long they’re not on the top, quite literally it seems.

Signed,
A pint-sized Asura
If this – by a cosmic chance – was when a ranger jumped on your head after you downed the guardian (the overall setup and time approx. matches), then he actually wrote in local something along the lines of “that was a great duel, mate” afterwards, despite knowing the poor dead Asura won’t ever be able to see it. I found the sentiment a bit strange at that time, but I didn’t watch the duel in question, just ran there after I saw the downed icon pop up.
So in case this actually was ‘your’ guardian, you can rest assured he clearly enjoyed it at least about as you were.

Any1 can confirm it is fixed and now it is better than before or same?
I can confirm that it’s about the same as before the last major patch majorly broke what was already horribly broken in the first place.
Mesmers (both enemy and ours) still heavily exploit the issue by throwing a portal under their feet, sometimes you can see appearing them 10 seconds later (for at least a name tag alone), sometimes never (even though you know well where they are as they still take damage from your conditions and you can follow them hoping they will maybe, maybe render soon).
Same goes for thieves in downed state, by constantly teleporting as quickly as reuse allows them, they are almost unfinishable in straight melee - by the time at least your targeting cursor (still above their head) renders, they are nearing a new reuse, or even a full health in the worst case.
Lion’s Arch is still a scary walk through a ghost town, with people constantly appearing in front of your eyes... 10 seconds after you started looking their way.
So yeah, pretty much the usual as before.
I will now close it.” – Moderator
Starting today, I’m also seeing this issue heavily in PVE (additionally to it having manifested immediately post-patch in WvW).
Few minutes of play time from a fresh login - monsters do not render to the point of seeing none in the area, while getting hit by at least a few (some are attackable via their name tag that by itself doesn’t render, but can be next-targeted, making it refresh and display instantly... interestingly, this doesn’t seem to work with some other invisible monsters that are still attacking you at the same time).
At another point, during a fight with three Risen, I had one of them disappear right in front of my eyes (not by using a stealth skill of course), only to reappear, very slowly, 10-15 seconds later (starting with a name tag and finally completing rendering the model post-death).
Also interestingly, this seems to be happening in bursts, i.e. 10 minutes of invisible terror, and then an hour of game play without noticing any issues (which doesn’t exclude the possibility of them still happening, but at least not with the monsters you fight).

As someone who was only very recently considering completely leaving TC, exclusively just to get rid of RUN (a dilemma eventually solved with a few well placed /blocks on some of their top members), I must say, despite this thread being really fun to read - TC people, enough is enough.
Most of us know, either from first hand experiences, or second hand accounts, that RUN are either very unpopular (in borderlands, with people who had to endure their antics and their rude behavior constantly), or virtually unknown (in battlegrounds, where nobody even heard of them).
That, and pretty much all that needed to be said was already said here. There is no need to badmouth them any further, as it kind of makes it look like anybody in TC actually cares about them, or in the more extreme cases - makes them even look like a victim of a sort.
People in SoS are - for most part I believe - adults. They can easily take care of themselves on their own. They don’t need to be "saved". So let it go. RUN will do for a few days the usual they were doing on TC, in no time SoS will be hating them the same as TC did. They will deal with it. Some new /blocks will be placed, and on the opposite side - some people who find their very particular style appealing, will find some new friends. Nobody will die because of it.
All that matters now is that RUN is finally gone from TC, and that is a time for celebration, not for pointless flames.

I quite frequently drop blue and green level 76-80 while in newbie zones, and even got a level 80 rare when literally just ran through Queensdale and smacked a random boar out of boredom (and as far as I remember, not just once). It’s random, people.
I’m actually pretty sure I got more level 80 stuff from low level zones than I ever got in Orr, just because it generally doesn’t take you 5 minutes to kill a single cocaine-injected zombie (if you’ve ever been to Orr, you get the idea).

Well that would be a good (if a bit overused by now, *cough*) excuse for customer support, but doesn’t hold much for people pushing updates (a.k.a. developers), who could easily roll an item distribution/replacement patch alongside the map rewards fix, as pretty much every single respectable company does after acknowledging that they originally messed up.
So that really couldn’t be a case here, could it.
