Thats a common misconception. It works differently for every boss and it rarely works the same way each time even with the same players using the same builds. For example my group runs arah, im on my ele and lupicus decides he wants to use single target life drain on me (tends to favor eles). We do arah again and this time he completely ignores me and goes for the guard. Ive even had him switch lifesteal aggro to me mid fight without anyone dieing. Never seen lupi do that before, he usually lifesteals the same person for the whole fight until they die.

Also ettin tanking kitten es me off so much, I can be the only 1 to hit him and the only one near to him but he will still lose interest every now and again and run to the other side of the room to take shots at my party members.

Yea its about hitting harder and less often. So full zerk is still the way to go. On the crit instability (44) we tried using low crit chance builds and it was harder than just going dps and killing ourselves.

In pve most of those conditions will already be on the target and the others wont last long or work on bosses. So the passive is always better.

Ice elementals defiant stacks dont work properly for some control effects. But in general you need to remove defiant stacks before you can interrupt a boss. Fear can be used for some. But bosses like lupi dont even get the fear condition applied so you cant use terror to damage him.

Warriors and eles are good for fractals. Eles are a lot of fun so you may find that easier to stick to.

It wont be a dps increase with that cast time. If it was instant cast then it would atleast be a small dps increase for the group.

I believe they have a few semi decent wvw players in their testing servers though dont they? And many spvp players do some wvw aswell afaik?

The real hole is pve where the only players they have are players like dulfy who just do stuff for the community and are very casual players. Obviously they should get some more dedicated WvW players aswell but balance is focused around pvp and usually doesnt hinder wvw as much as it hinders pve.

I can tell you that they have no top end pve players in their testing servers or giving them direct feedback. And that goes for all classes and pve in general.

Ive found ele to be a lot of fun. Both are good in wvw though. If you do however decide to venture into pve I would pick an ele. Eles are much more useful in groups and in pve in general.

Ive given countless feedback on how to fix necro’s weaknesses and issues in pve with minimal effort and solutions which hardly effect balance in other gametypes. And ive yet to see any of it even acknowledged. I continue to post because I hope they do eventually act on it and when new utility skills get introduced I hope to see some of the community suggestions implemented. If not then I will have lost all hope for the class.

If they just took the feedback from players at the top end of each gametype more seriously they could avoid things like this. Sadly they cant seem to tell the difference and end up ignoring it all.

You misunderstood me. PvE being for cosmetics is not relevant to wanting challenging content. Every game should cater to all types of players and challenging content is pretty much mandatory in any game, even the most casual games.

It made since for it to be lower than the warrior signet because it had the damage portion now it is just sadly weaker in every possible way.

This. Also, note that it is at best a bit weaker than the warrior heal. It still relies on getting hit. Its pathetic.

Oh, and apparently John thinks the skill is fine because it can “add 6k damage in a team fight to one target”. Yeah, next they’ll tell us Reanimator is one of the best traits in the game.

Whats funny is during that cast time a necro could deal more than 6k on his own. So its not worth it even with that kitten reason.

I like to “look pretty” but i like to obtain the skins i want while having fun with challenging content. Cosmetics have no relation to this issue.

It doesnt need an icd because the whole idea of hitting fast means you should get more procs. Theres smart play if you save ur multi hit burst for when you need to heal. What theyve done is made it totally useless. Giving an icd and a max amount of stack while also having a short duration is completely moronic. If you are solo you should be able to atleast attempt to get all 25 stacks within 5 seconds. Honestly the fail on this is cringeworthy. I hope the devs realise how useless it is. No icd could make it ok.

I think the only way to balance it is to make it just have a maximum of 25 stacks with no icd. Or make it infinite stacks with no icd but a time limit of 5 seconds. They’ve retricted it in too many ways for it to be remotely useful in any situation.

Fractal Lvl 43: Shaman - How?

43 and 44 are challenging fractals, some shards being particularly grueling. For the Shaman in particular…

Normal strategy is to use reflects and burst the elementals down quickly during each transition. In this mistlock the best strategy for the transition is to kite the elementals through aoe while maintaining reflects. Warrior longbow firefields, necro wells/marks, staff ele meteor shower/lava font. Take it slower and play safe and smart.

When I used wells I killed myself almost instantly. Marks are pretty safe and condi spam with epidemic works nicely. Also our guard kept killing himself with WoR so we scrapped reflects and only took projectile blocks.

The clones will kill themselves pretty fast due to their low hp pools. It shouldnt be too much of an issue. Mesmer should adapt to it anyway.

Dwayna is fun until you get a large enough mob that you dont need to dodge anymore. Melandru doesnt scale properly which in a way is good because its boring with a zerg. Mark 2 golem is always worth doing for extra dragonite on multiple chars. But the problem is finding these events with few people and them having set timers. That and they are mind numbingly kitten when doing them in a zerg.

None of the temple bosses scales properly, unless increasing only hp is correct.

True but melandru doesnt seem to scale at all. He gets melted so fast in a zerg whereas all other temple bosses take considerably longer.

Melandru solo takes longer then melandru in a zerg. Its the opposite for everything else. :P

You arent changing your build. You are only changing your utilities and weapons for the skipping sections. Every good player does this automatically.

That build is fine for skipping btw. Use fgs for the longer sections. Use d/d or staff for mobility and take lightning flash, arcane shield and mist form for extra help when skipping. Can also take armor of earth if you need stability.

Ele has a lot easier time skipping in arah than necro, mesmer and guard. I only mention guard because the lack of perma swiftness can be painful at times.

After linking the codes ingame the base heal + damage of the necro signet active seems to be 600 per hit. And the active lasts 5 seconds. So im fairly confident it will work quite nicely. If they put an icd that could ruin it. If its a 1second icd you would get a total of 3000 hp per active which is stupidly low considering necro base hp. We shall see i guess. :P

30/25 will always be better expecially in pugs and solo because of forceful greatsword. If you use perception you should take signet of might instead of signet of fury. If you use bloodlust always take fury. You should only run 2 signets if the banners are already covered. Always take banner of discipline and if thats already taken by another party member take banner of strength. For Great Justice should always be on your skillbar.

  • I got to the top of the tower solo just by auto attacking and running.
  • I went afk for tequatl and died less than most people around me.

This is the new best pve heal in the game btw. Only time you wouldnt take it is if you need condi cleanse or the self heal isnt quite enough.
