Are mesmers the other class that can yank people of keep walls?

I know Thieves can, but I heard mesmers can also. What skill are they using to do this? Someone said it’s the focus 4 skill, is that correct?

Glad to see so much support for this idea.
Sorry about my “meh” poetry. It’s the thought that counts!
Maybe let each individual guild set a toggle that says that it’s members can only be in one guild. So there can be open and closed guilds. Say I shut my guild. Then when one of my members tries to join another guild they get a prompt like “You are currently a member of a closed guild. A closed guild does not allow it’s members to join other guilds. If you choose to join this guild you’ll have to resign as a member of <Guild Name Here>. Do you want to resign from your old guild?”
Then a double confirm. “Are you sure you want to resign from your old guild, <Guild Name Here>?”
That should fix it for everyone.

I’m a mathematician, I must confess,
So at writing lyrics, I’m far from the best,
But Pointy Hats are so much win,
I’m going to have to say it again,
Please give us steepled hats of wonder,
So we can look good as we rip our foes asunder.

Hoods and cowls are fine and grand,
But to some mages this style is quite bland,
See, my wizards are in a great deal of despair,
We’re unable to emulate our Gandalf most fair,
His superb hat is so hard to find,
It’s as if it was left out of the grand design,
So if you could be ever so kind,
And provide to us what we most for pine,
Please give us a pointy wizard’ kittenof might,
It would bring my guild mates and I so very much delight!
With humility and thanks,
I’m curious to know what profession the people that say “dungeon difficulty should be higher or stay the same” use. My guess: Guardians, Warriors, and Mesmers. Just a guess.
I think as the classes are better balanced the dungeon’s will become more easily completed.
I normally can make a profit (or at the least cover most of my expense) by crafting the recipe available for purchase from the trade master. They yield huge xp and are normally in such short supply that they actually sell.
My people know not to let it get in the way of the conflict. Plus, stumbling about looking for a cat while your fort is being attacked is far from what any real person would do. It just makes no sense.
Then again…. we’re a WvW guild with an RP subgroup, so we’re not as intense on the RP side.
So apparently there is some way for mesmers to link their portals. This allows two mesmers to stand on either side of the jumping puzzles in WvW and funnel people across. This just doesn’t seem as if it was the developer’s intent. I’m curious to hear the community’s opinion on this. Is it okay to use such methods or should we avoid taking shortcuts like this?
Don’t know if this is a bug or not, but I noticed that some class (mesmer, I think) can yank people off of keep walls. Yet my gust spell (staff elem) can’t blow things off cliffs. (Players or mobs.)
Why is this? This, our weakened TP skill, and a bunch of other things seem to scream “Devs hate elems!” That or we just got no attention during beta. (Expect a big swing of the nerf bat.)
Yeah, at 1200 I thought it would be possible to res someone while I was standing on the keep walls while attuned to Air and teleport them to the top of the keep walls. This did not work.
Yeah, it sucks to be us. Welcome to club Elem.

I can’t seem to get this skill to function at long range. I realize the person I’m using it on must be defeated….. that is it won’t work on downed playersl. It only seems to work if I’m right next to them. It says the range is 1200, but it seems much shorter than that. Plus, the air attunement version says it should teleport the target to me, but what’s the point if I have to stand next to them for it to work. Am I doing something wrong or is there something I don’t understand about this skill?
Thanks in advance.

I had fun waving and dancing in front of DB this evening. Fun guys, if not for their desire to kill me and my companions.

I’ve heard this compared to DAoC, which I never played, how did DAoC deal with this issue? Were graphics not a limitation for it?
The commander status is temporary? It expires at the end of the day it’s used? Really?
Lol, you should try playing on TC or maguuma. It would change your perspective.
Here’s a nice map update. As far as the rankings I posted, I was saying that those were the most recent ones I knew of. That’s all. I also never saw us matched up with the three on those rankings. That was my only point. It’s clear from the map, DB does not belong with TC or Mag.
So Dragonbrand is domination WvW right now, and we on the Tarnished Coast side decided to call it quits for a second and party!
Yeah. More fun than being murdered over and over, lol.
Yes, I know that. I had assumed we moved to a 2 week cycle. (That was what I remember the normal period for WvW matches being. I might be wrong on that though.) I only mention this for two reasons:
1. To make people aware so that perhaps, in the future, such an imbalanced match up can be avoided.
2. To show my cool photos of the golems. They were cool, were they not? :P
Please read up on the server ranking system.
I’ve read up on the system.
The NA server list as of 9/7 was this…..
“2132.171 Henge of Denravi
1952.644 Stormbluff Isle
1940.189 Eredon Terrace
1934.638 Jade Quarry
1729.114 Blackgate
1700.119 Isle of Janthir
1682.879 Sea of Sorrows
1646.364 Gate of Madness
1633.066 Crystal Desert
1564.007 Maguuma
1557.434 Fort Aspenwood
1528.095 Tarnished Coast
1521.522 Dragonbrand
1495.801 Sorrow’s Furnace
1475.709 Yak’s Bend
1453.539 Sanctum of Rall
1417.146 Ehmry Bay
1349.244 Darkhaven
1342.292 Anvil Rock
1153.872 Northern Shiverpeaks
1082.319 Borlis Pass
1079.313 Ferguson’s Crossing
917.602 Devona’s Rest
639.897 Kaineng”
Which suggests to me that TC/Mag/Ft. Aspenwood should be paired. If there is something I am not understanding or if new info is now available, please let me know. Either way, with this system, unless the number of high participation servers is divisible by 3, then there will always be a crazy inequality in the competition as a high participation server will be paired with, at most, two low participation servers. (Which seems to be the case with TC/Mag/DB). I wish there was some way to balance this out.

I’ll be watching this thread. I would love to hear some feedback on my pic. At first I thought I just needed to L2p, but then I realized I really was getting hit by something that wasn’t there. Then I tried to snap pics, and finally manged to.
Well, if this is how it’s gonna go then what will happen is the active servers will drive what few players there are on the inactive servers to quit. If we can’t get a balanced match then it’s not fun for anyone other than the dominating side. It’s like ganking on a massive scale.
Oh, and it was pretty awesome to be swarmed by golems, I must admit that. If I had to pick a way to die, that would be a pretty awesome way.
Dragonbrand Vs Tarnished Coast Vs Maguuma
Dragonbrand is crushing everyone. They’ve all but eliminated Maguuma. These guys have so much power they stormed Durios with an army of 20 golems. I got pics of the 7 that moved into the fort.
They’re are so many on the Dragonbrand side that it’s not even fun. This is terrible. They clearly don’t belong in the same bracket as TC and Mag. I wanted to note how insane this matchup is. Just to bring it to everyone’s attention. Are there any other ridiculous match ups going on right now? I included some screens of the golems and map.
As of now the score is:
Dragonbrand: 291,709
Tarnished Coast: 99,660
Maguuma: 102,100
Take a look at the pics as I QQ some more at home.

So is this the bug or the thief invisibility skill. Notice the two enemy attackers right next to me. One a player the other a beast. They were damaging me and never reappeared until after I was dead. Plus they weren’t far away, but were right up on me. I had plenty of time to snap pictures of it. It’s much worse when it happens to be a mob of enemies that just magically appear.
I thought there was some thief skill that was super OP.
No need to be rude.
“Guild Wars” refers to a period of history in the game world. It’s a lore reference. However, I want GvG.
It would be nice if guilds had more of a purpose.
I agree with all the stuff this guy said. All of it.
Just don’t do it like Aion. I hated having to maintain my home and bid for a new one if I took a break.
Join a guild. Then you’ll have more people to talk to and play with.
I agree with all these ideas. I have a small guild on Tarnished Coast, but we’ve already encountered many of the issues you’ve described. Thanks.
Who said I think Legendary weapons are a good idea… oh wait.
I don’t think it’s necessary. Dye is easy to get on the TP.
Just ask. I’ve asked probably 8 people what they were wearing in game and I always got a reply. Ask nicely and people will answer.
I don’t see why we need to be able to inspect each other. If you want to know something just ask. It’ll be a means by which people ridicule new players.
As long as the only mounts are ground bound Moa, I say it’s a good idea. I don’t like the idea of unique mounts. Once everyone get’s them they aren’t really unique. But you could have multicolored moa birds. They don’t do anything different, but the color you pick to ride that day can say something about you.
Yeah, you are correct on that point. However, I want my members to be acknowledged for their support of our guild. I do that by promoting members that participate, cooperate, and do right by the guild. I use several ranks to help distinguish those that work the hardest from the guild hoppers.
What Guild Wars 2 is missing. It's the little things that count!

I love all the guild suggestions and the desire for dueling. How am I supposed to train new guild mates if we can’t duel?
I want my guild to be as open as possible while still being stable. I have a bit of an issue. I want to allow all my members to be able to invite people to the guild themselves. However, I don’t want them to be able to promote/demote/kick members. It seems, at this point, that all of those abilities are controlled by the same toggle on the guild rank menu. I think it would be better if each option had a separate toggle.
It would also be nice if we could see the last login date for each member. However, I could see how this might cause some issues with privacy. Then again….. they did join a guild. I suggest this because it makes it hard to know who’s being active when your guild becomes large. As you start reaching the guild cap, you don’t necessarily want to keep a dead-beat player on the roster. Especially if they haven’t been online in weeks.
It would be nice if there was a visible counter for the amount of influence each guild member generates individually. This helps guilds that promote based on level of activity and support for the guild. (Like mine.
)
Also, the guild roster only shows the account name when a player is offline, however, this is often not the same as a player’s main character name. It would be nice if we could see a list of the player’s character names when they are offline. Perhaps an option under the right click menu. That would help with administrative tasks such as promotions. I was in a situation where there was a member I wanted to promote, but I wasn’t sure what his account name was. So… he’s yet to be promoted. I have to wait until we’re both online at the same time.
It would also be convenient if there was a way to mass mail guild members and to set up guild polls. It would help in organizing events (dates and times etc). Those should also be listed as toggles in the guild window so officers can assist in administration.
That’s all I can remember for now. I really love the game you guys have made. Thanks for all your work and foe taking the time to read my suggestions.
Cheers for a great launch!
Oh, and my guild members wanted me to say. “We really need a Guild Hall to RP in.” I know you guys are working on it, but I told them I’d say so anyway. Gotta keep my word. :P

Well the response from this post has been exceptional. I’m pleased to say we’ve just got our 30th member. We still have open enrollment. Let me know if you’re interested.
Cheers, everyone!
I have the issue of wanting to allow all my members to recruit people, but not wanting them to be able to demote/promote/kick people of lower rank. Apparently there’s only one toggle for all of that. The guild interface is slick, but there are some things they could do to make it better.
I don’t see a suggestion subforum, but I’d like to suggest some additional options to the guild menu. I just don’t know how to go about getting my feedback to Anet. Thanks!
There should probably be a prompt before you can promote someone to GL. Probably two.
