Lmao at the lie they spout in their moderation message. Supposedly my post was moved to some thread I didn’t know about. Not hard to miss this thread when it’s buried like a bad secret.
I don’t see my remark, so I’ll repost it here.
They delete every thread on this issue. It’s ridiculous.
“Perhaps 4.3g is a bit too high for charged lodestones.
Is this the price Anet wanted them at? Did they aim for this price when they decided on their drop rates and how to structure demand with their forge recipes?
It’s gotten to the point where it’s a bit silly. 430g for sunrise. Okay, it’s a legendary. But 1075g for infinite light. Last time I checked, it was just an exotic with a pretty skin.
I suggest the situation be evaluated."
Legendary weapons were implemented in poor fashion. They mean nothing and are a testament to how long you can spend flipping items on the TP.
They make more legendaries or, very likely, use it to sell to people for rl cash. In GW2 you’re the farmer for the gold seller.
Lmao at the gift of gems. Nah, the scavenger hunt would probably be a once-per-character event chain. Like the black moa chain.
I look forward to it.
Good point about the ledges. That is probably how it functions. Wonder why we can’t get a real teleport? Probably to make clipping issues easy to manage.
The skill is nice, but some damage with it would be great. Elem/Thief/Guard all get damage with their teles iirc.
From what I’ve seen when the skill bugs out and doesn’t make your character vanish, it appears that blink functions by making your char invisible and having your char run really fast to the destination. That’s what it seems like anyway.
I really don’t care what anyone else thinks on the matter. The fact that they can be posted on the TP just made the whole process tainted in my eye. I’m still going forward, but only because it’s the only endgame in GW2.
If you purchase a single mat from the TP in order to further your Legendary progress, then you just made your complaint invalid. And if you said that all T6 mats and other Legendary components should be taken off the TP, that would be something else.
As for End Game, there’s SPvP and WvW. Both are extremely fun.
Buying one component and buying the whole thing are not the same, lmao if you think it is. All that account bound stuff I’ve been working on. That progress shouldn’t be buyable.
Clearly there’s nothing wrong with the precursor market. If there was Anet would be doing something.
Thing is, in capitalism there are always big winners and big losers. We just aren’t on the winning side. Go search for a way to exploit the system and make your fortune. That’s how it’s done in capitalism and that’s how it’s gotta be done in GW2.
Lmao, it’s a fun build. I prefer GS/Sword-Pistol. It’s quite different in action.
First. I was simply speculating. Second. I have no issues with what they’re doing. If people really want the keys and Anet wants to make you buy them then fine. You guys are paying for my game and helping the B2P model remain viable.
The only thing the devs know about mesmer is what they get told in the SPvP forum. I doubt any of them play the class. That would explain why the compare us to the thief class rather than comparing elem to the thief class.
Elem is closer to thief than mes. Elem has a teleport. Elem has super speed. Elem has an kitten load of condition skills. Elem is a magic thief that changes attunements instead of weapons.
@ Mesmer: We’ll be addressing the current Mesmer build that’s spiking for insane damage. Sorry that change got through – it is something we’ll be fixing.
Lmao, where’s my patch for insane thief and warrior burst damage?
Good god. I should just roll a warrior, shouldn’t I? Can you just tell me that- flat out.
I really don’t see why your upset about this encounter.
….What is upsetting is that he got taken from 100% to 0 instantly (AOE on top of that and with low cooldown).
Note that mesmer could react to his burst because thief’s burst is fast but not instant.
Thief could not react to mesmers burst, because mesmer’s burst is instant.
What thief could have done is ‘predict’ how mesmer is going to react and then dodge before proceeding with his burst.
Note that ‘predicting’ what other player is going to do and take action in advance is completely different than ‘reacting’ to what he is doing.Luckily, devs are fixing this, problem solved.
You can’t react to most thief burst since most thief burst comes right after they unstealth. However, most thieves do the same thing over and over. So they’re very predictable.
I’d also like to point out that if a mes downed you like it did in the video, a warrior’s burst would crush you. So let’s nerf them too!
We do not have an ETA on when Lyns will be accepting commendations. To clarify about timing: this will not happen during Wintersday, but in a future game update. Sorry about the confusion, everyone, and thank you for your patience.
No confusion at all. You did it so we’d buy keys instead of trade for them. I know. So does everyone else.
Gotta make money somehow, I guess.
You can’t really blame people for not wanting to do analysis in the leisure activity. Also, the financial gap we have is never going to change. It happens, by design, in an open market.
I really don’t care what anyone else thinks on the matter. The fact that they can be posted on the TP just made the whole process tainted in my eye. I’m still going forward, but only because it’s the only endgame in GW2.
You can always buy gems from the gem store and convert them into gold. Use that to buy your lodestones.
^Pretty sure this is what they want to say.
I understand your concerns, but….
Wouldn’t it be more money chasing the same number of goods. Which would allow them to offer more for the goods they wants. Which would raise the average price of items.
But I maybe wrong. I’m not an economist. This is a game, I don’t care to delve into it’s details so much as this.
EDIT:
Hm, well you also said there’d be an increase in drop rates. Idk, does it really matter?
A mesmer asking for a nerf on another class: LOL!
Why is that funny to you? Have you yet to learn to spot a mesmer, lol. Probably.
I don’t believe I was asking for any nerf. I said it didn’t really bother me. What are you? A warrior? Take some time to stop slamming your head on things and learn some reading comp.
;)
I doubt many of us are economists, so I wouldn’t wager a remark. All I know is I’ll try to make the optimal decisions in response to their moves.
No, they want you to use the TP to so they can suck some gold out of the economy. If you want lower prices find a player you can trust that acts as a merch. I do it from time to time. I make more money and I can provide my clients with lower prices.
Other than that, deal with the TP.
They need it weakened so they can keep up.
That must be it. In the spirit of equity, I graciously offer Power Shoes in exchange for the portal.
Take my fricking portal. If it’ll quite all the complaining then just take it. Don’t complain when we can’t move you up the JP or save you in fractals. Very few mes like being a portal monkey.
Also, something else I realized. The blink argument is bullocks. Off the top of my head, three other classes have teleports: Thief, Guardian, and elem.
Two of those have a 25% passive. Wtf?
Give it to guardian and mes. Make the game balanced.
“All classes have LoS issues”, they say. You, TC, have done a wonderful job of showing the uneven playing field. Anet please respond to this issue and fix it! This is why I’ve been relegated to skirmishing in WvW. Please.
Good job TC.
This was buffed from when elem mist form was it’s 3 skill. I wouldn’t say it’s more balanced now than it was then. At the time, I thought it was a good move, but TC has a valid point. Then again, it doesn’t bother me that much. I reserve the right to change my mind.
alright, also nerf the guardian heal skill that gives them 2 seconds of blocking. cause i can go down there do some damage and just block for 2 straight seconds when im low on health and runnin back towards the door, and the ranger trait that gives them the active signet buffs because, what class should be able to have 6 seconds of invulnerability, and the thieves ability to go invis, and the mesmers ability to blink…am i missing anything here?
On a side note, I wish people would stop acting like our ability to blink is special. Lots of classes have teleports. Off the top of my head: Thief, Guardian, and elem all have teleports.
It’s not unique to us!
Also, the guardian and elem version does damage! Blink does not!
Not really, no there isn’t. Just pick a dungeon and run it over an over.
Or just convert gems to gold and buy one on the TP. Say 50 bucks every month. Epic quest is epic. >.<
Not sure why anyone would want to go through the process when you can just save your pennies and buy one with gold. OMG such an epic process.
If I wasn’t half way done, I’d just ignore them all together. No reason to be proud of your legendary anymore. Everyone assumes you bought it.
We’ve never been high priority for them. Too many warrior bugs and buffs to work on. It’s not like the star/food buffs/potion buffs/unmanned buff completely undermines the mesmer’s core mechanic…. oh wait.
It’s ridiculous that we don’t even have the option of moving faster. Switching to a focus isn’t the answer, it has a terrible duration and it’s skill set in combat only suits a small number of combat styles. As it is now, if you don’t want to be a shell-less turtle you:
A. Switch to Centaur Runes and completely change your build
B. Constantly switch to focus to run faster and pray you don’t get ambushed
C. Switch to air runes and spam healing and pray you don’t need it in combat
Did I forget something?
Even if I did, all these options suck. Truth is, people just don’t want mes to have a fair playing field. They need it weakened so they can keep up.
After 4 months there are people with 100k kills.
So 1 year for a title for the good players, I think thats fair. GW1 was the same thing, in fact 7 years later and only 5 players in the entire world maxed out a pvp title, so QQ moar.
I want to point out that there is nothing “good” about running with a zerg and spamming AoE to tag kills. Title is pointless anyway.
Everyone who’s anyone wants MH pistol for mesmer. And I wouldn’t be opposed to an AoE weapon too. Something I could smack stuff on top of a wall with. Or just fix LoS and give us MH pistol.
That would be great if we could get COGS…
I thought we were going to be able to get more, so I bought a toy griffon frame. I already had the endless tonic so I was pretty excited.
Then someone tells me there are no cogs today. So I’m stuck with a useless account bound item that I paid for with a gold’s worth of mats. Fantastic.
I agree. It’s very very annoying. I’d love for it to be fixed. Seems like it’d be a simple QoL improvement.
Either way, it’s not legendary if all you do is buy it off the TP. It’s not good enough. Anet can do better.
Got my 77 yesterday.
Feels good. Took around 200 or so shards.
It’s funny to see people posting terms like Pay 2 Win, when the Legendaries in question are the same max stats of other fully available Exotics (and soon to be Ascended).
Mostly they are just too jealous that they’ll never be able to afford to make one, let alone buy one. Jealously tends to make people rage at Anet.
Exotics will not get scaled up in stats. A new tier of weapons for people to chase will be released. A legendary is simply guaranteed to be a bis item no matter how much additional grind, um, progression they want to throw at us.
Nah, the star there is to help newbies spot the mesmer. It’s working as intended! /sarcasm
This should already be fixed. If it was something similar effecting warrior, it’d already be done.
Whatever the case, the items don’t deserve to be called legendary anymore. Major fail on Anet’s part. Not sure I even want sunrise anymore. It’s just a glorified gold grind and now it’s full on p2w.
I’d really like to hear from Anet on this. I’m wondering if this is glitched up there or if the game really is P2W. Or should I say, pay to get endgame gear that is supposed to be the capstone of gameplay.
Well, I’m glad it made you chuckle. Your glee does nothing to devalue the validity of the statement. Have fun with your foo class.
We’re going to start going off topic, so we should leave it here for now.
Zergs are, for the most part, the oasis of the newbies and the forever newbies.
An average WvW player can solo cap supply camps with one invader nearby. A single player can turn the perimeter of a map a single color.
Not to even mention what a group of two to five can do.
Welcome to WvW. Kudos on solo roaming, but you need to be properly geared, properly experienced, and properly leveled to solo. Until then roll as a zerglet. But when you get to cap level and have your rare/exotics break away from the horde and fight the real fight.
I’ve come to think of the warrior as a newbie class. It’s to help you learn to play. Once you’ve gotten a feel of it, you should try to transition to another class. I mean the class is clearly newbie friendly, it even has a “Oh, you’re downed.
Here have a second try” skill.
So really, I think it’s fine how it is.
What class you’re playing?
Inb4 it’s because you’re a mesmer.
Yes, i thought so. Doesn’t make it any less true because of the fact that you managed to lose to other classes.
Lol, surprised that a player of the duelist class likes to duel? Mesmer is far from OP. Don’t use common player ineptitude to devalue the achievements of the mesmer player base. Truth is, mes is hard to play and attracts a lot of talented players. Same with elem and necro. Then there are your foo classes…
Lol, I feel your pain OP. I too am a solo roamer. Not many people can do it. It requires you to deal with Nv1 fights often and, as you rightly pointed out, most people run from 1v1s. :P
I just search for the brave ones. We have fun matches and I hope everyone else gets some guts. You can’t stay in the zerg forever, children. One day you’ll meet a duelist. Better to start practicing now.
So stop running.
A side note, if you can’t solo cap an invaderless supply camp then you need to log out, log in to PvE, and practice/gear up to where you can. It is the bare minimum for skill in WvW.
A single player can turn the perimeter of a map a single color and cause an entire zerg to be diverted to flip camps. That’s a lot of power.

Did you know that with the warrior’s healing surge (iirc, that’s the name) they get another full bar of adrenaline. So they can shoot you with this twice!
Totes balanced, nerf mes’s 9 stacks of might!
“When combined with sword #3 or blink, it makes it practically impossible for people to run away.
Eventually you will catch them and kill them.”
This statement makes me think you have no idea what you’re talking about.
In WvW, mes are just an annoyance now. As a mes, it’s like playing whack a mole. Run an enemy into a keep. (Since you can’t catch them.) Then play combat tag as they pop in and out until their buddies show up to gank you. Izerker is nice to slow them, but they just cure it’s initial strike then outrun it. >.<
Sword 3 would be awesome if I could get within range and switch before the outrun my illusion.

It’s cool guys. Just be prepared for every single person you meet to assume you bought your legendary from a gold seller or the gem store. No props to you.
Low mobility was never meant to be a Mesmer weakness anyway. Read the class description.
Which goes for the folks working on skills too, btw.
As I’ve said before, from their class descriptions Anet has no idea how their classes actually behave. Mesmer has crap mobility if you look at it in terms of movement rate.
Warrior is supposed to be crap at range yet it has access to two full adrenaline killshots. >.>
Yeah, they seem like they have no idea what’s going on.
