Sure mesmer is balanced that’s why 50% of people in dueling servers are mesmers.
Yes, I’m sure that there’s no other reason a person that likes dueling would want to play the dueling class. Mesmer is easy to play but hard to play well. If you want to complain about it being OP you should also consider how much effort must be exerted by the player to achieve his or her output. Think about it then compare it to the Hambow warrior.

Then his remarks are probably about that inconsistency. If it is reconciled you can expect it to be a nerf to IR rather than a buffing SS. But I doubt they’ll do anything at all.
I think he’s saying that when traited with IP, Illusionary Retribution stacks confusion for each clone and the mesmer itself. But Shattered Strength only provides might for each clone and not for the memser shattering off himself.
However, iirc, Illusionary Retribution doesn’t stack confusion from the mesmer’s self shatter. I could be misremembering or misunderstanding the op.
Eh, Idk. I’m more excited for the torment shatter anyway. I mainly roam so I should have probably not said anything. It was just a thought really.
Eh, I get by with MI and decoy all the time. I was using a standard shatter with some custom trait choices and Staff/GS for a long time. Now I’ve swapped to a hybrid build that seems quite powerful. Mesmer plays a lot differently than thief in either form. Plus you could always go full condi or phant if you really want something different. Either way, I don’t feel I need more stealth than decoy and MI.

Greatsword is wonderful on condi builds. People just don’t know how to use it. Great for W3 roaming.

After the clone is generated, the teleport in effect functions as a stun breaker (a-la staff n2 style port/stunbreak). In the past I would try to fear the mesmer after noticing the crippling clone, esp if I was out of dodges, but that normally didn’t amount to more than a wasted cc.
Mesmer staff 2 doesn’t break stun. It just moves the mesmer. He’s still stunned. Swap does however. (Sword 2 chain skill.)

The burst heal is terrible. Healing signet can only rely on the passive regen. That is the weakness of the healing signet.
It shouldn’t take more than few brain cells to brainstorm that high dps destroy the healing signet warriors.

Eternity is hideous to me. The hilt effect is gaudy and the foot steps look terrible. So the only use it has to me is if I ever get bored of my Sunrise. I can craft eternity and sell it, I suppose. But that’s about it. The effects on Eternity look like a desperate attempt to distinguish it and shout “Look at me! Please.
”
I’d probably spend more time in SPvP if I could use my Sunrise. That’s for sure. Oh, and if the game mode wasn’t sleep inducing.
If you have to build to counter HS, it greatly limits build diversity and damages the quality of play. It’s more fun without it. Plus the adrenal heal and healing surge is more than enough if you know how to play a War. HS is just overkill. Roll face on keyboard easy, and I don’t say that lightly.
How many views did you all get?

Thieves haven’t been OP for weeks in WvW. It’s a matter of you not stacking glass, learning how a thief plays, and what it can and cannot do. The more you know the easier they are to counter.
I’m sure we all know by now, we’re wasting our time with this.

Lmao, not all roamers are hunting upleveled. Truth is, for me any zerglet will do.
I want to take a moment to comment on the design choices in the World Experience system and the Bloodlust system and the effect these decisions have had on roamers. Through the World Experience system you have easy access to 250 vitality and 100 Power/Condition Damage. Through the bloodlust system you have access to up to 150 points in to power, precision, toughness, vitality, condition damage, and healing power.
Let’s look at each system separately. First the WXP system boons. The issue is that you accrue WXP significantly faster and easier in a zerg. So you now how many zerglets running around with an additional 2500 HP and 100 points in the two attack attributes. So players that already find themselves often outnumbered forced to play at a higher skill level have more to contend with. They contribute greatly to their server. Escorting yaks, running supply, picking off scouts and monitoring enemy units, but they’re at a disadvantage for this behavior. So what do they do? They stop roaming. That entire branch of counter-play is discouraged under this system.
Now let’s look at the bloodlust system. Initially, I was exited to see Anet pay some attention to small ops. However, I was concerned that it would turn into a means by which the larger server gained further advantage. I was worried that the compact are would lend itself well to zerging. The control points are so close together it’s very easy for a single large zerg to manage the area. So the end result additional benefits for the superior numbers.
That’s about it. Don’t get me started on what these buffs have done to the GvG and dueling community. (Hint: Nearly killed them both.)

Play a thief for a while and they don’t seem overpowered. So many newbies in this thread.
As long as mantras have that ridiculous ~3s cast time. They will not be viable in any pvp setting (sPvP/tPvP/WvW). All mantra casts are basically a hey come hit me now sign. FREE KILL COME GET YOUR FREE KILLS GET EM WHILE THEY ARE HOT! <Is what I feel like the mantra symbol is when we cast it. Just saying.
I guess I’m the only person who never has any issue getting off mantra of resolve in PvP.
Yeah, if you’re being kicked then it’s an issue with you not with the community. Fix whatever deficiency you have whether it is your attitude, build or playing ability. Don’t blame others for your short comings. Most people don’t have your problem. If you’re getting blocked/kicked by a large group of people the issue is on you.

@ ommu how are you dealing with only haveing 1 set? i think i have 5 on my guardian just aloneI’m talking about the ascended rings and accessories bought with laurels and commendations. I had 1 set for WvW and another with MF for PvE. Now there’s no reason to have 2 sets on 1 character and I would like to move them to an alt.
The ones I use are all zerker stats, and for WvW I use armor with some toughness/vit to make up the difference.
And no, it remains soulbound when you change the stats (I had it equipped when the change went live). So I’m stuck with 2 soulbound sets on my main.
Same for me. I had a pair of magic find ascended rings (Yakington’s and the other 10% one) for my main. After the patch they have no stats, but are still soulbound. It’s a real bummer as they’re useless now. I have all the rings I need for my main. They were just my farming set.
You’re wrong about the condition removal mantra. I use it in WvW as my main condition removal. All the time. I’m a roamer and have no issues at all using it and recharging it in combat. You can start the channel while in stealth btw.

Well, I enjoyed the 1.0 version very much and I’m sure I’ll enjoy 2.0 just as much if not more. Don’t let the negativity get to you. You can’t please all the people all the time. Most of the people that enjoy it won’t take the time to praise SAB. Just know that many, many people love it.
I don’t see why they couldn’t just let the guys with celestial stats pick if they want to swap stats or stay with the celestial stats minus the magic find. Seems like an easy fix.
Overzealous? You try running like a turtle for a year. The 20g for 7 runes was nothing. Nothing I tell you! God, it’s nice to move on my main like I can on my war/thief. THANK YOU ANET! <3<3<3

But these runes are actually good for many mesmer builds. Unless they made some changes to rune of speed too.
Edit: I’d say they’re better for many mesmer builds. Speed runes could be good for quite a few as well.
