SteepledHat, you can think what you want, but that is not really a build where you can survive things, as for conditions I won’t argue it has good cleanses, but it doesn’t counter condition Mesmer, and what roaming you were talking about? is it 1vs1?
I don’y know but not having PU and playing berserk I am telling you it is tough (by tough I mean not even playable most of the time), and will put you in lots of disadvantages. If you do that great that’s good for you.
Keep in mind it won’t always be 1vs1 fights, and it won’t always be zerg vs zerg fight..,
Guardians burn is one of the easiest conditions to cleanse, but when he is with other people that put conditions those f1,f5 are not really dependable at all and I know that you have that cleanse mantra. =)And no point of condition reduction food by the way =p
Well, that’s amazing. Some how, I can run this spec in WvW havoc and solo roaming without issues. Reliably killing these flavor of the month condi specs. Maybe it’s the sustained damage a provided by an unblockable GS2, or the illusion sustainment from the chrono line, the bountiful condi cleanse, the damage split from defender, or maybe you’re right… maybe it’s my 3000+ hours on chrono and I’m just so competent I’m able to stomp in spite of my build.
By the way, the build in question, if you drop the GS and take S/Sh counters most of the anti condi mesmer specs seen in SPvP. So I predict it will be a strong counter meta build in the next season.
Iirc every one of the above builds takes inspiration with the defender spawn and heals/condi cleanse on shatter. Mine takes mantra cleanse… in no way do we have issues with conditions. Especially when, if put in a tough spot, you can wait out condis with continuum split and take condi reducing food. You sound like a novice.
Yes you can run and wait out the conditions and if your lucky might make that tower/keep door and then die behind walls loosing all stacks. Or maybe you just fight by that tower or camp and play poke and run. But calling someone a novice due to taking inspiration as a trait line is pretty funny. If not using chrono inspiration will cure 4 conditions and that mantra cleanse does 4 also. Seems sort of a personal preference.
What are you even talking about, I took inspiration in my build. I was calling him a novice because he is saying ridiculous things.
Also, the inspiration trait removes only one condition no matter the number of illusions.

I run a variant of a double ranged shatter.
Inspiration/Illusions/Chronomancer.
Inspiration: Bottom, Middle, Top
Illusions: Middle, Top, Middle
Chronomancer: Middle, Middle, Bottom
Weapons and armor is full berserker.
Runes: Strength
Sigils: Strength and Air
Staff: Energy and Force
Utilities: Blink, Mantra of Resolve, and Decoy with Mass Invisibility
It has excellent survivability, condition cleanse, and mobility. It seems to counter the condi mesmer spec pretty well and most roaming specs. Not good for zerglets, however.

Mesmer or necro. More so mesmer. It has a lot easier time soloing than the other two.
Only a temporary ban… I’m surprised. Guess the community is too small to actually punish them.
I think this 13.7k dps is close to the highest realistic power dps mesmer could do when fully specced into it. You’re providing zero utility to the team, nothing but dps. I believe that condie could go substantially higher, but I unfortunately lack sinister/viper gear to test this out.
Yes, I repeated your process with Exo weapons, full berserker ascended armor and trinkets. Gave myself the profession specific boons (I didn’t the first time.) and ended up with ~14K dps. So shatters and wells are a dps loss? If that’s not the case it must be a rotational issue on my part.
Edit: Repeat with the profession mechanics, same weapons, exo sword and shield off hand. Took chronophantasma and gravity well. Got up to 15k as a PvE nub. Those profession specific boons are nuts.

Yes, shatters and wells are a dps loss. All of these ‘maximum damage setups’ that we’ve been posting would never actually be wanted on a team because they don’t bring the actually important stuff i.e. Alacrity and quickness. Chrono takes a substantial personal dps loss to provide heavy dps support to everyone else. [/quote]
Yeah, I figured as much that was how it was pre HoT. However, if you pair chronophantasma with gravity well and well of calamity you can squeeze up a bit more dps. But I realize that’s not the mesmer’s role. Support is the goal.
So in mostly zerker gear with a full set of normal raid buffs (25 might, fury, quickness, alacrity, EA, spotter, disc, strength, assassin’s presence, frost spirit, grace of the land), with domination, dueling, and illusions, I’m clocking about 13.7k dps autoattacking in sword with 3 sword phantasms up. I also used 25 vuln on the golem.

Where can we expect mesmer to sit DPS wise?
Doing full vuln, full non profession specific buffs,
Running S/Sh and S/S I sat around 9k on the first go.
With GS/Staff was at 6k. (Just did it for the contrast.)
(Disclaimer: I’m far from optimal and haven’t been playing since a month after HoT so don’t tell me I’m crap because I already know, lol. Never had a reason to optimize dps for PvE when I lived in PvP/WvW. :P)

Same issue here.
Condition Mallyx is nerfed too yknow.
It was petted roughly. See mesmer for examples on how to nerf.
All 3 of them are more killable than past mesmer in WoP.
Even a duel between a reaper and a condi mallyx will be a matter of player’s skill.
Yeah, that 3-6 seconds of dodge on a 45 second cool down made them completely invulnerable to conditions the entire time.
I don’t know what you’re talking about. Bunker meta hasn’t changed. Just swapped a class for another. Pushed mes out, replacing with two tempests. 2 Temps, 2 Revs, Reaper/DH/Scrapper.
That’s what I feel is going to happen. Something to expect when you barely touch the real issue. Revenant.
This is going to bite all of you in the kitten when bunker tempests, scrappers, and druids start popping up. You’ll miss the bunker mes. Meanwhile, you’ll all still wonder “Why is it still broken?” Meanwhile, you just build the meta around Revs.
Just wait. The mistake wasn’t the change it was the missing patch note.
Called it a week ago. Now I call Tempest bunkers as meta. 2 Rev, 2 temp, Reaper/DH meta incoming.
SO… the guys on these teams are the BIG DOGS. They are the Lords of Lethality, the Sultans of Stomping, Purveyors of Points Taken and Held, and Grand Masters Of Mayhem.
And according to THEM, Mesmers are the second most favored and dangerous Class in the Game. Second only to Revenant, which is only what, three months old now?
So acording to the pros Revenants are the most OP class but you want to nerf Mesmer instead…
Revs were built to be broken and lure in the lolwarz form pve to buy HoT. Problem is, competent pvp players own on the broken class.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3w9cwa/pvp_when_you_have_a_revenant_in_your_team/
So you focus target a distant target so guards and revs can use movement skills that require a target to move faster towards the threatened objective. It clearly seems unintended to me.
That would buck the trend of nerfing mesmer to the ground that we’ve seen everyone become so fond of over the past few years.
I’m still mad at you for stealing Morrigan from me in Dragon Age: Origins, but how would you propose to achieve such results? I agree with you, but I can’t see how it’d be done.
Come again? Haha.
But uh, yeah, I have a few personal survivability / bunkering reductions to target Bunker Chronomancers only.
- Well of Precognition becoming Distortion instead of Blur. This puts it in the invulnerability category, but reducing some counterplay such as warding effects, shocking auras.
- Temporal Enchanter (resistance and super speed) changed to only affect nearby allies.
- Mender’s Purity – 10 second ICD on Power Cleanse, like other ‘on heal’ minors.
In addition I find Countless’ suggestion on Chaotic Dampening I think is very reasonable.
Reducing the Bunker Mesmer’s personal 1vX survival back down to Earth while keeping their amazing utility and support throughout all game modes would be the best balance measure decision.
You really think it’d still see use after that. >.> I don’t care who you play for, the precog change alone would put it on the back burner. Perhaps that’s how your team would like it?
Yay, more gold grinding. Best scavenger hunt ever, even better than dusk was!
Hopefully I’ll be burned out by the time mesmer get the nerf so I can move on.
A lot here are career mesmers.
They are pretty easy to kill in most circumstances – as many people fail to play the chronobunker well.
++++
I killed one on rev in 1v1 lol.
Condi rev?
It tells me you got really efficient at farming pugs. So prah.
Read the ignorance; it’s like they don’t even play mesmer.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/How-To-Nerf-Bunker-Mesmer/page/2#post5841814
Just have it you cannot be invincible on a point.
ArenaNet already made changes to problematic skills, change distortion from a evade to invulnerability and problem solved.
I remember when you could cap points while invisible.
Distortion isn’t an evade. You really seem to know nothing about mesmer beyond “They tough preas nerf”
Had two necklaces spare from old builds, bought 3 more. 5 gold for the kits… No dark energy. But quite a lot +1 infusions.
Why the heck can’t Anet just make a fun, challenging scavenger hunt? Why do they have to ruin it with RNG and gold sinks. I don’t mind working for something but this is ridiculous. Guess my next route is to craft some ascended weapons and hope, because it isn’t certain, that I get the dark energy I need to continue my hunt. Just peachy. So glad the drop in fractals… oh wait.
So the general buzz is chron bunker is overtuned. The hate train is a chugging for mesmer again. So what nerfs can we expect and how can we prepare for them?
I expect precog to bump up to 60 secs and mes to lose its stability from shatter trait. At a minimum…
2 Rev, 2 Chron meta ftw, totally fine
It takes a certain skill set to be a l33t pug farmer (ie ability to make the right friends), and even then if you’re not that good of a player, you’re going to be hemorrhaging pips at higher tiers where everyone is either a good solo queuer here to take 2-3 of your pips, or other good premades.
Whatever makes you feel like a special snowflake. Everyone is going to assume you exploited and pug farmed for it so it means nothing. That’s the only thing that matters with a prestige item.
Well you can’t just have the legendary back piece unless you’re pretty legendary with your PvP skills. Honestly if you’re playing the leagues because the backpiece is your only goal, you’re definitely going to have a terrible time. This isn’t a usual farm, and you actually gotta be skillful with how you approach it.
And by skillful, I mean either finding a good premade to carry you or being able to carry as a solo queuer.
Any prestige is gone from that skin. It’s now the “L33T PUG Farm” Skin
Alternate idea, set each tier to size 1. Then have pip loss size of 1 per tier. <.< /s
Is there any credence to the rumor I heard that several devs are apart of the mist initiative?
It’s clearly fixing itself as they said it would. See below.
I’ll summarize that post. Everything is fine. There’s a little bump in the new system, but don’t worry. If you aren’t getting matches or you’re being farmed by teams or you’re constantly having members bail to dump their mmr. Every. Thing. Is. Fine.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I’m concerned about clipping in the shoulder region and there’s no way I wanna grind out something that’s going to clip. Would it be possible to preview the wings. If it is not, can you please add a preview option.
Esports baby. Pug farming is how you get viewers.
According to the PvP team this won’t be an issue soon. We just have to wait it out for the population to spread out more. I’m sure this isn’t an issue at all.
/g Anyone want to group up for PVP?
- Me!
- Me 2!/g LF 2 more for PVP!
- I’m a bunker Elementalist, is that good?
/g Yes we need a bunker. LF 1 support or DPS for PvP!
- I’m a Mallyx / Herald.
/p Okay guys, hop down to Alpha Team in teamspeak.
You guys kill me. It is that easy. It does not require any time commitment to run with groups and be semi-competitive.
Alright friend, you sure it’s gonna be that easy when you’re stuck in emerald hell in few weeks? Or when every team wants full rep, guild allocation, and scheduled matches?
The thing is, I don’t expect to get past Emerald… and if I were to attempt to get past Emerald I would want a more regular team. I didn’t realize people this casual expected to max this kitten out. If you go back four months you will find threads on this forum predicting that most players would be stuck in the middling tiers with the truly terrible at the bottom and the dedicated pushing through to the top.
Even before, if you wanted a better then 60% win rate you needed a team or incredible luck. Just because everything else in PvP is just given to you through the virtue of time doesn’t mean the Legendary nameplate will be. There are broken things that will be fixed but this is day three and “I refuse to use TS” Joe Blow was never the target of Leagues.
Let me know via pm how fun it is playing against the same 20 teams after the rest of the population has bailed. You can’t have esports without a community and you won’t have a community with this progression and matchmaking system.
I think I missed the part where you tell us why it is unlikely people are intentionally dumping their mmr to rank up faster.
The level of unsportmanship from these teams is unreal right now and it’s even worse that Anet’s #1 and #2 PvP developers, Josh and Hugh, are both part of the mist initiative themselves so it’s impossible to discuss anything with them unless you’re in the ESL scene. For the rest of us, we’ll just have to continue getting farmed 24/7 by these teams until everyone gets sick of it and quits gw2.
That seems highly inappropriate.
I agree. I would take cele meta back without a hesistation. Bunker mesmer is pure cancer.
That’s a weird way to write condi revenant.

Blink out when locked in their dragon maw (click LOD particle effect in option if you can’t see it, forgot you should activate or deactivate it).
O.O Deactivate apparently. So this is how I kept getting knocked down by something invisible. I thought it was longbow procs. >:(
Thank you.
Are you still playing? They don’t care as long as you’re on the treadmill.
Having 51%+ win ratio, it may take serveral atempts to get tier done, usualy you start losing streak at 3 or 4 back to zero. So you need from 5 upto 50 games to get 1/5 tier done done. If you having less than 49% win ratio there is no chance to go up beyond division2, not even talking about division 3.
Napkin math here. So likely hood of a 5 streak is 3%. That gives you approximately 165 matches for one tier. So you can expect 825 to break emerald. Assuming independence of matches and a tendency to maintain a 50% ratio.
Agree. It’s likely a management decision to do this to foster teams for ESports. Use the combat system the way it was designed from the start.
Once people DO find a team and a TS server, they will probably have a whole lot more fun that tryhard soloQing.
There is still hotjoin for just messing around.
What arenanet doesn’t understand is that companies don’t make a game esports. The community does. And for that to happen you NEED to have great solo gameplay on top of team gameplay. Just look at what DOTA and LOL do with their queues, and those games are DOMINATING esports.
Everything Anet did with these changes was make the PVP community EVEN SMALLER.
I see about the same number of people in the mists at the moment, however, the feel is somewhat hostile. People seem a bit more irritated. And everytime someone pops a new division people talk about how they tanked their mmr and farmed pugs. No prestige only bitterness.
How many of you are in a team? They’re forcing you to team up.
Because esports, balance, and an expansion.
