I disagree. Lets say you have a few underperforming or the other team just has a strategy that’s obviously going to win. If it is to be limited it should be only for when there are 150+ point difference (a lead that is nearly impossible to come back from). If team has determined they have no counter for strategy against them why should they be forced to hold out the entire duration? That makes no sense. Again, the /resign feature I’m recommending would work as it does in GW1. The entire team has to agree to resign not just a single player saying “I’m out”. It seems several replying to this thread don’t understand that.

Point taken. You will be surprised tho. I had a game that we were ahead +150 points but our warrior decided to AFK because he said he can’t bunk mid so he kept dying.

Can the F2 function like steal now?

The pets’ f2 can be seen by players on opposing teams making it a double edged sword.

Picking up stuff can also be very risky since enemies will treat that as an opening.

This has been an overdue tweak to Porcine pets.

If you guys fix it, I think Porcine pets will be another solid choice for different game modes.

Have you ever tried attacking with the skills in Moa? They actually do great dmg… and there is one that stacks like 5-10 stacks of confusion. next time don’t run around like a chicken with its head cut off… use and learn the attacks. Then laugh when you kill them in moa form.

There is no confusion in Moa, IIRC.

I do agree it is a braindead class, annoying to fight against.

But to anyone always whining about this is, L2P (no offense)

Burn guards are a one trick pony, Plague signet can easily turn around a fight.

How? Stack 10 stacks of burning and flip condis. Thers is no sense in flipping 2 or 3 stacks of burning.

Per stream, Irenio said it is 1 target. But, if you hit more than 1 target at the same time, it can proc up to 5 times which is not likely to happen. Also, it doesn’t actually proc right away. I was using LB4 and watched many people walk away before AS actually procced. Proc needs to be 1/2 second and changed to 5 targets.

This was actually my concern, this trait would only work against Cleanses on Cooldowns and 0 Cleanses on classes.

One can literally just walk away after the first pulse of using a cleanse OR if one reacts fast enough, they can actually walk away before the trait procs effectively nullfying a GM trait

They can do this with entangle too. Always been an issue.

Exactly. That is the point, Cleanses completely counter or even nullify an elite skill heck even destroying the vines is an option esp on Power specs.

Like others said, it goes on ICD as soon as its activated.

Also, to clarify, it activates on CC’d foes.
It does NOT activate ‘on CC’, meaning you need to deal a direct damage hit after the target is dazed/stunned/knocked down/launched so a direct hit after pet-induced CC will activate it or even ally-induced CC

Excellent synergy with Primal Echoes on a staff with on-swap sigils that deal direct damage!

The bleed and immob pulse is very slow though, definitely a small speed tweak (or longer base immob)

Interesting.. Agreed, the proc should be faster, or the pulse even haha.

It can trigger once every 10 seconds max, but when it triggers, it will affect every target that has been hit (if they’re all under CC).

If I CC someone, then I swap weapons. Does geo/hydro/leech sigils Proc Ancient seeds? I mean they still do direct damage.

Yes, Hydro and Geo will, I’m not sure about leech. Staff trait + Geo/hydro sigil = AoE Ancient Seeds.

Oh so basically the ICD is like per target. this is good to know.

Another thing I wanna ask, the trait procs from outside sources of CC right? (mesmer, ham war, etc)

What Hammergaurd said. It’s a pretty strong trait, compare to all the useless Grand Master Traits we have.

Spike Trap’s knock down does not trigger Ancient Seeds. I don’t know if it’s intended or a bug, I hope they fix it.

The CC is not what triggers AS, you have to deal damage to a CCed Enemy to trigger AS

The bleed doesn’t trigger it either. And if it only activates on direct damage then it should be changed to include condition damage.

You can just hit longbow 4 then 1 and profit. (Or SB 5 and 1 of condi to proc it easily, but there are so many other ways, like immobing enemies CCed with ally skills). I just mention the LB method because it can easily get decaps on things like necros that don’t have stun breaking teleports or tons of stability.

Yea but 1 cleanse is all you have to do to negate the entire GM trait. That is where I am getting at, Now if this 10 icd per target, even though they can just cleanse it, the drawback is not that big because it can affect multiple people.

Since The OP said he was playing ranked with comms, I will assume you are facing against Teams with Comms too, While mesmers here have a point, Getting moa against a COORDINATED team is a death sentence, you can’t even use those dodges as they will CC you immediately.

But on the flipside, its on a very large cooldown already, so It wouldn’t hard to catch up again if it kills you.

Elite skills are supposed to be game changers when used at the right time, All I could advice you is tell your teammates to peel for you when you get Moa’d.

If the scenario was 1v1, the chances of dodging While Moa’d is higher since 1 person cannot chain CC you unless they are built for it, which i will find very unlikely in normal team comps.

In 1v1, LOS is your bestfriend esp waterfall and quarry nodes where you can just go on the back of the node and circle around the point.

So there you go, hope this helps.

The “counters” are inherit. Given the above information. Interrupt a mesmer any time they look like they are casting something. Dodge/block every single time the mesmer looks like they are casting something… so on. Of course, the mesmer can just be invisible?

You have an instant win button for anything of or less than celestial defenses. You can do SO MUCH to someone with their keys useless for 10 seconds.

The mesmer doesn’t know what they’re doing or has kitten dps if they can’t kill someone who isn’t tanky on stats alone and is a completely defenseless moa incapable of any recognizable response for 10 seconds.

POINT: There is no real counter to moa. Why?
2nd POINT: Having such a powerful hard counter to an entire array of enemy “stat set choices” off one button alone is just stupid.

I mean if its not, its kinda useless, since the condis pulse, a decent player will just cleanse the first pulse and get away, and put the skill on ICD.

I think if its per target, it could be very powerful on area interrupts like Lunar impact, traited bows, Spike trap, etc.

The point of this thread is power creep. Just because something is new doesn’t mean it should be stronger than the old stuff.

Just because druid is new doesn’t mean it should have an unbalanced movement ability. 8% is a big deal. If all elite specs did 8% more damage than old specs, you’d be in an uproar—this is just the mobility version.

Ad hominem – (of an argument or reaction) directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining.

I play mesmer, I play everything. I haven’t PvPed on mesmer since the spec patch. Your personal attacks have no place in this thread. The mesmer example was just to show that something can be new without being an example of powercreep.

Your trait is unbalanced and you’re fighting just because you want to keep it, not because you think it improves the overall balance of the game. Since some of you players show such animosity towards mesmers and other classes, it would stand to reason that you all do not play them enough to have an actual opinion of the game as a whole.

Don’t be selfish. Balance is good for the entire game.

Clone Death traits – axed.
Duelists Discipline – Nerfed on arrival by 50%
Maim the Disillusioned – Nerfed same day by 50%
Mistrust – Nerfed on arrival by 33%
Confusion – Nerfed in pvp, primarily a Mesmer condition. (at least it was)


As it stands, Condi Mesmer seem to get brutalized with each balance pass. This is especially odd since Condi is not even meta or viable in high end play, useless in large scale WvW (glamour bombs nerfed) and only good for soloing dungeons in PvE (less efficiently than other classes at that)

So what gives? Is Condi not supposed to be as prevalent as power? With the arrival of Herald and Druid should we not expect classes to bring condition removal? On their own, none of these traits are very worthwhile for a build versus their power damage counterpart, and even together their effectiveness is questionable.

Mistrust – Competing with DE is bad enough, but to only grant 2 stacks per interrupt isn’t worth a GM, especially not with such a pitifully small AoE. Increase by 1 stack

Maimed – You may as well move Maimed into chronomancy, because core Mesmer cannot get much value from such a low amount of torment. Increase duration at least

I don’t even play condition, and this is ridiculous. I could never recommend a trait like Mistrust to anyone, and yet condi-lock is sooo close to being a thing.

You forgot to mention that confusing combatants was ninja removed without any notice, or reason why on day 1. And replaced with the trait master fencer. Clone on death being removed was a good change as long as they add some type of alternatives, which there is 2 in pvp imo. My hyrbid condie build, and if you’re not a fan of critically thinking, then a build revolving around prismatic understanding, desperate decoy, and mirror of anguish is for you. Gotta passively react to them passives

The most shady part was that, clone death traits were nerfed first (not ublockable, bleed stacks reduced to 2) before deleting them permanently.

I honestly felt that Anet just gave in to the whining of baddies and to the elitism of top players alike.

Its balanced. 33% is strong, but once you get hit by that random chill from a reaper fear, you are back to 0% and ready to be bursted on.

Are you people really trying to argue that 25% matters when you’re hit with chill? Because it doesn’t.

Base speed = 100%
Speed + 25% = 125%
25% + Chill = 125-66% = 59%
Base + Chill = 100-66% = 34%

Regardless of having 25% or not (59% or 34%), if you’re hit with chill, you’re caught. If you’re anything under 100%, you’re caught unless you have a leap or a cleanse—both of which druids have plenty.

Ride the lightning on a 12s cooldown, old Greatsword leap (9.5-12~ s CD),

This mechanic of losing the 33% when slowed does not balance druids having a better passive mobility trait than any other class in the game.

Why did they add unbalanced mobility to one of the most mobile classes already?

Chrono get their increased mov speed mandatorily. Druids can choose not to.

It would be logical to add Invulnerability to the Druids skill set.

Guardians, Elementalists, and Mesmers are the other ‘magical’ professions.

Being magical tends to mean two things:
1. Weapon auto-attacks can not be reflected
2. Ability to become invulnerable.

Really do not want this game mechanic to be overlooked.
Invulnerability is a baseline mechanic for the games ‘magical’ professions.
If invulnerability is not added now; will in all probability be years before this is rectified!

We have 2 direct damage invulns already (and a true invuln through pig), and druid not only makes it so we can dampen condi effects, but that we can purge ourselves of every condi in the game by ascending to our astral form, and then kitten out condi removal in that form… i think we’re fine.

I would only agree with you if forage functioned like steal

Really? Just run Reaper. The entire elite spec hard counters Elementalists. I just love a perma slow on my weapon swapping and it’s even more crippling as you have to wait to overcharge.

Can we please have it so Elementalists is not the ONLY class were our weapon swapping can be slowed?

Did we forget that Mesmer has been consistently decent at 1v1, prior to anything that Chronomancer gives us? The game is not balanced around 1v1..

Anyways, want to deny some Alacrity generation for the Chronomancer? Well, you got Chill to semi-counter it for a while, so that’s one way to potentially balance it out of the picture for a bit. Some professions are more proficient at this than others, e.g., they’ll be our hard counters. Or, kill off the clones, again, some professions are better at others when it comes to AoE-melting our illusions. Pulling/pushing us off our Well before it can do its final pulse is another tactic to use, or to area denial the location it’s dropped at, the same way anyone mildly decent will try to get a Thief out of their Shadow Refuge and punish them as they get Revealed.

Alacrity is nice, sure, but let’s be fair, it’s not why we are winning in any 1v1 scenarios. Mesmer was never bad at 1v1. The people who complain, are the ones with less experience in PvP, the not-so-good (yet) players. Everyone needs to learn. The same players that still gets confused about who is the real Mesmer amidst the clones, still trying to pick them out, as they’re downed on the floor.

For Alacrity to be truly useful, you need to build into it. If you do that, you are forfeiting other strong choices. And even so, there’s counters to its generation.

Great post. I would argue the chill part tho, one will need to build around chill to really hinder alacrity, which really never worked in pvp to begin with. At the same time we get the chill reduced duration as a gm minor so theres that

Oh my jesus. Look, even if druid is actually, factually, the absolute worst at healing in the entire game (Which frankly, a lot of your builds don’t establish as well as you think), your friends should be sufficiently decent people to not force you to play a class you don’t want to in PvE. Not a single class, in a single bit of existing content, is so bad that if you have it with you, you will lose. It’s unlikely raids will (I actually have concerns that raids won’t actually require defensive support, but that’s a different matter). It isn’t some horrible drag on your friends to play your favorite class.

None of this means that druid is strong enough, or isn’t strong enough (which I’m actually agnostic on because I don’t really care right now). It means that you either have a warped view on friends and video games, or you are putting forth a warped view because you want bigger numbers for druids.

Ventari gives double healing with the staff. The tablet always heals and heals better. Can clean conditions, procs dazes, 360 degrees projectile destruction and heal heal heal. When you need you change to another legend and do DPS/conditions or whatever you want.

Guardian gives double healing with the maze. It has more healing with the shield, projectile protection and drop boons plus a decent burning. It heals you for 200 Hp/tick jsut standing there. More healing, aegis, stability. The elite will heal you for 1.5K just for standing around. Full heal if needed.
It can inst ress you. Proc stability, swiftness and whatever you want.

Druid. Heal 80hp if you are in line. Heal 300 if you are making love with your target or with the druid. Needs a target to heal. To cleanse has to get into CAF and that only if the bar is full. Only one glyph that CC but for that the druid has to metastasis with the target.
No DPS. No strong condition. No condition cleanses, no healing presence. No hard counter to CC. Druid only get 69hp (i like that number) heal if he heals.
If you swap to another weapon you won’t be able to get into CAF. Also ranger DPS is very mild.

That comment is completely dysfunctional. It does not address the lack of everything the druid has, you practically are saying the ranger is trash the druid has to be another kind of trash

Give a reason i would choose a Druid for my raid over a guardian or a ventari using the numbers above. Please a reason with some common sense not coz reasons

Why are you so worried about the druid not getting picked? You have never even see what the raids look like.

Besides dont you have any friends in game to do raids so you can play whatever you want?

Ventari gives double healing with the staff. The tablet always heals and heals better. Can clean conditions, procs dazes, 360 degrees projectile destruction and heal heal heal. When you need you change to another legend and do DPS/conditions or whatever you want.

Guardian gives double healing with the maze. It has more healing with the shield, projectile protection and drop boons plus a decent burning. It heals you for 200 Hp/tick jsut standing there. More healing, aegis, stability. The elite will heal you for 1.5K just for standing around. Full heal if needed.
It can inst ress you. Proc stability, swiftness and whatever you want.

Druid. Heal 80hp if you are in line. Heal 300 if you are making love with your target or with the druid. Needs a target to heal. To cleanse has to get into CAF and that only if the bar is full. Only one glyph that CC but for that the druid has to metastasis with the target.
No DPS. No strong condition. No condition cleanses, no healing presence. No hard counter to CC. Druid only get 69hp (i like that number) heal if he heals.
If you swap to another weapon you won’t be able to get into CAF. Also ranger DPS is very mild.

I love all you guys’ ideas, But is it only me but we need a increase in base dmg the shortbow does, i think its most weak Dps weapon out of all classes.

I don’t think so, I want more condi application so it is LESS hybrid than it is now. It does reasonable direct damage now because of the rate of fire, so although I would buff that slightly, I’d prefer to see it get more condi. We don’t really have a good condi weapon, except torch, but that’s 2 skills. SB also needs its CDs reduced, 4 & 5 particularly.

Yes I would agree on reasonable, but it does not scale well with the power stat. Thats the thing, if you wanna go SB with high dps, you can’t. (I know there is LB, but how bout people who want to play SB)

We need a dedicated condition weapon and something is going to have to give.

Necros don’t use scepter in a power build and neither do Mesmers. Same for Warriors and 1h sword and Engies with certain kits.

For mesmer I respectfully disagree.. Ive mained mesmer for 3 years, Scepter works great for power, every skill scales so well with the power stat.

For warrior, Sword is used in both a power build and condi build.

Can’t you just use the adept trait for celestial to condi cleanse? Glyphs already have impressively short cool downs and alter what they do depending on if you’re in celestial or not, AND you can trait them to condi cleanse almost everyone but yourself.

And rangers have other traits that allow your pet to take your conditions,

I honestly don’t think Druid glyphs need it.

Short cds? 2 sec daze on a 40 sec cd? I dont think so.

1.) The shortbow needs is damage boost, why is that other classes AA do so much damage? Even mesmer scepter does more damage than Shortbow.

I feel like some devs wanna keep ranger bottom tier.

2.) Shortbow 3 needs to apply torment
4.) Crippling shot needs "Pets next 3 attacks deal 20% more damage and your pet gains swiftness
5.) Concussion shot needs to apply 5 stacks of confusion.

Rework LOYF then we are gold.

What truth do you have?

How about the truth that even Anet realized how broken it was and fixed it in under a day. And I have a ranger too btw (as of every other classes), I’m not asking for them to be nerfed or anything. The only OP classes in my opinion are warriors and mesmers.

What about the truth the ele is still broken after nerfs?

There is a difference between something that is “strong” and something that is just a game-breaking flaw. It’s not as if rangers have anything to complain about: Their pet hits for 4-10k, they got a condi buff, they can still pewpew from1500 range for insane damage and they are getting the best healing in the game soon.

The dev who nerfed ranger was not even the Dev thats supposed to be doing that. what a joke.

I now understand why ranger will stay inferior for so long.

Whenever any developers come out some ideas to buff ranger, Roy will come out and destroy it.

No wonder ranger can never have nice things. We have a developers who’s actively trying to doom ranger and make sure they stay in bottom tier class.

Druid’s nerf incoming. (Not like it’s strong to begin with)
