I hate all of those. Stop using “You play X profession” arguments. They suck and you should feel bad about even trying it. I don’t like things that ruin the fun of the game and are not skillful. Lingering light being a main contender to this.

But wait they still don’t even when combined add up to 3 per ally per second. Probably also triggers on ally pets too so I wonder if this trait isn’t nerfed will we have MM NecromancerxDruid teams being immortal from the perma blind while still doing good damage.

Blinding Dissipation is INSTANT. AoE, Works with all 5 shatters.

Jesus that’s 5 nearly melee range blinds per super long cooldown.

Melee? 240 radius? Mw has 10 sec cd?

My signet of domination stun doesn’t add confusion stacks to enemy, and neither does chaos storm, bug ?

stunning them wont work, neither does chaos storm daze if you don’t see INTERRUPT it won’t proc number 6

Ugh. Seriously guys, stop derailing every thread by complaining about the location. Yes, its a bad setup for a pet location, but leave the criticism in the threads about that.

As for the lightning field, it should definitely do something. Its one of a number of critiques I brought up about the new pets during the BWE, but sadly not many people seem to have given much feedback on pets and they made it to live basically unchanged.

Its really lame that the field literally does nothing besides being a field for the sake of being a field. It needs to do damage, boons on allies, conditions on enemies, something. The attack is already pretty lackluster anyway (low damage with a very short CC), and the field doing nothing doesn’t help that matter any.

My personal vote would be pulsing damage on enemies + vulnerability. That seems to fit with the running theme for electric attacks in the game and would make the attack much more impressive and useful.

I’d also like to see the field drop in a line over the entire length of the charge rather than just a circle at the end. Would make a lot more sense and make it a lot easier to hit with, since in its current incarnation the pet often charges through enemies and puts the field where the enemies aren’t standing anyway as a result.

Oh, and it should be a leap finisher as well. It definitely fits the skill. It wouldn’t combo with itself, but that way the pet could charge through another field and trigger a leap while also leaving an electric field in its wake. It’d act much like the Necromancer’s Trident #3.

Yea its too plain, because the field pops out underneath the drake after the attack, its not like the smokescale smokefield before that it pop the field on its location.

Having it cause damage will be super. Not only it will boost dps but make the wyern another good pet for cleaves.

Can we remove Minstrel Amulet?

I want it removed mostly for an enjoyment reason. It is not okay to ruin the game mode because someone wanted to play extrememly tanky. I am not talking about ESL or anything. I am talking about regular games played by new players or advanced players who wants to play casually. Those players are needed for an healthy game: Minstrel amulet will only be good at pushing them out.

I am a somewhat high mmr player. Personnally, it just sucks the fun out of the game when some guy decided by selecting one amulet that they will not die.

Just imagine this new guy who is not a complete newbie to the genre. He (or she) thought that maybe he could try out this game he heard about called Guild Wars 2. He sees a couple of minstrels users after a few games of climbing up the MMR, is bored to death and just uninstall. Minstrel is a very dangerous amulet. Well, not to your mesmer, revenant, elementalist… Minstrel is dangerous to the players.

I edited my message to pass a more constructive point. Yes, I was kittened off because I just played against one. We did not lose, but it was boring. And, what do we do about boring games?…

I am an extremely high mmr player on team Radioactive where I actively played in 50 or so ESLs multiple tournaments, etc.

When it comes right down to it, your argument is “it is not fun to play against”, but you forget to consider the fact that it Is fun to play a minstrel build. Saying “it’s very dangerous to new players” is the dumbest thing I’ve heard because new players hate dying, I think they would Much rather face something that can’t kill them rather than get one shot by a DH, Rampage War, hammer rev, etc.

Also, if someone wants to make a build that is specifically for tanking and healing allies that should be allowed and encouraged so comps can exist with high damage roles backed up by support rather than 5 bruisers running around spamming all of their skills.

I hope you realize that you do Not speak for new players, that everyone has their individual likes and dislikes, when it comes right down to it, you Personally had a bad experience fighting a minstrel build and not being able to kill it (probably for 10 min on a point capped in the minstrel guy’s favor like a kitten). You had a weak argument as to why you PERSONALLY think it should be taken out of pvp and tried to speak for the new people coming into this game to achieve your own ends.

I personally think that the minstrel build is very balanced specifically because it can’t kill anyone and shouldn’t be able to, that is the drawback, that is why it is impossible to run more than 2 (which is pushing it) in an actual comp.

Now, to leave with some dignity, please go and edit your post by deleting anything involving anyone other than yourself and add “in my own opinion, I think minstrel amulet should be deleted because I couldn’t 1v1 it” not garbage like “new players are quitting the game because of minstrel amulet, oh and here’s my published data and findings concerning it”.

there’re 2 type of word for health recovery for trait : Heal Skill and Heal/Healing (they’re the same)

Heal Skill means the traits are activated when you use the skill in your 6th skill slot
Heal/Healing means when you somehow inflicting healing (green numbers)

I see, the 2nd part which Zenos mentioned does not proc with regen, altho you do get the green numbers.

not in game right now but it does say heal and should trigger the lingering light as it “heals” targets that it passes by.

So in theory the wisp orbits around the player and heals them, so that would also mean if there are people close to where the wisp is orbiting, they SHOULD get healed too right?

I am also hoping sigil of renewal and sigil of water procs the trait.

i think Heal is on a skill use basis and healing is Passive effects like Sigil of water ether way it covers both bases of skills or effects that heal or cause healing but it discounts boons like Regen as those are boons not Healing effects.

So which procs Lingering light aside from the Heal skill?

I’ve been using another build very similar to the first one but imo stronger.

I’ll post it in a few days here.

Also wyverns are awful for dps.

The reason wyvern is here:

1.) AoE CCs 2 of em actually

2.) f2 AoE CC is instant cast, very helpful for interrupting, especially resses and stomps

I didn’t say that I can’t get it quickly. I mean is that 13exp is super unreasonable for doing and killing champ that don’t that die that fast in an event for a huge pool of 13 million exp. thats it.

Fast or Slow, 13k is just too low. how long does a chain event last?

1-2 hrs. that 1-2 hrs will get you how much exp in total? It is too much time investment for very little results.

They’re supposed to be long term goals.

long term goals for people who do not work and what not?

Some people have lives and can only play once or twice a week, and sometimes 2-3 hours on 1 day only.

Can you imagine how long it would take them to master 1 track?

People seem to be tearing through that 30mil xp for the Central masteries via the CoF farm. Infinite foes, 2k xp per kill. Not sure how many kills per minute. Anet has stated its not an exploit… shrug

But yes, some boosters do stack. You can run a celebration booster and a normal xp booster together, I believe. Toss on food, potion of ‘x’ slaying, an xp bonfire, the hero banner, and maybe even a kill streak booster… and you see those numbers start adding up…

So do the boosters affect exp from events?

Guys, just tested in game.

Druid Runes procs JUST in time for the flower to bloom in verdant etching, giving you a guaranteed proc on healing with +500 hp.

Imo 3 secs is a very small margin to work at.

Use boosters? I’m running all sort of boosters, food, fireworks, celebration booster, XP booster…I have 15 mastery points spent so far.

Some of these boosters you have to buy for gems. Not really sure I wanna spend money on that.

Once you reach the second to the last or last tier of each mastery, tell me about it.

Stop trying to rush them.

I am not. It’s just to little exp for very long chain quests. They take too long to finish. It will take you a whole year just to get all 4 masteries completed .

Only talking about HoT here. Not even including the Tyria one.

One major flaw (or inefficiency) in your First build.

Celestial.

You are using Celestial on a build with 0 Access to conditions. Condition Damage is wasted even with Might Stacking.

I’ll say this again, although this helps the issue, it does not address the main problem.

Having regen build AF, you will be still forced to get regen sources.

Just make AF build up will all weapons AND while taking damage. Problem Solved

Everything is soooo goood, Hunting for Mastery Points… Vertical Progression..

New Pets..

Everything…

BUT this:

MASTERY TRAINING takes tooooooooo looonngggggg to level up.

Doing Chain events does nothing.

you need 1.7m to train Lean Gliding, 1 event gives you 13k exp.

This makes me feel the grind..

The last tier for a Mastery needs 13million exp.. not for me..

and there are 4 mastery tracks.

so each mastery track atleast needs 20million exp.

Not necessarily. Getting a full bar takes <10 seconds for a warrior, but >45 seconds for a druid. Plus, warriors have skills that give them full (or nearly full) bars instantly. There just isn’t a comparison.

I liked your idea but it does not address the problem, you will still be forced to get regen sources. Just make AF gather faster on other weapons, problem solved.

Had your targets….idk….figured after the first death not to stand on point vs you and focus you with ranged pressure, you would’ve went down even easier than a thief. No shelter, no RF, no focus, not even PF for some condi cleanse while you burn targets. Everything and their grandmother couldve destroyed a garbage build like that lmao.

It is a nice tell for facing stealth classes as it does not disappear when they go into stealth, I just noticed while watching a duel vid Frosty made. That is pretty cool!

I would even argue going berserker over assassins is better since you have perma fury uptime on this build with high base precision. netting you about the same on your build without fury.

for sure, i was just thinking that with strength sigils on the more crits the more might stacks you can keep up. zerker gear and weapons would be just as good really with a slight loss on crit chance. I also looked at celestial trinkets, you could get some vit and toughness as a cushion when needed and still do pretty close to zerk dps numbers.

I think your spread is good, just 2 equipment changes, Do not go celestial. You still have almost 100 points left because of the infusions, so thats 80 something + 2 gear changes maybe cavalier will get you the toughness you need without losing damage.

That’s the only gear I have that has Healing power.

Im using Rabid for armor LOL. and Trapper Runes. (I used this gear on my ranger)

With 475 healing power.

I felt I was doing really well keeping people alive.

Just by eyeballing it I think the seed blossom is ~1.5-2s and maybe takes .5s to show up? So it should heal within the 3s.

does the druid rune have an ICD in between glyphs when you tested?

also, where on earth do you get this in PvE?

Guys, Mcrocha is giving a very good point tbh, I barely have any gear, maybe around 200 Healing power, And I do very well with Healing with Allies.

The build you linked me first Heim is doing very well even with Just 2 Glyphs with Verdant Etching. plus Ancestral Grace. I do not even Have the GM minor yet.

Me and my friend have been killing champs with no gear.

This makes me wanna assume that:

  • There are very diminishing returns when Investing into Healing Power, since most of our Utilities and Skills have HIGH base healing.
  • It’s safe to say even 800-1000 Healing power will suffice and other stats can be invested more like toughness, Vitality and DPS, or IF ever staff gets condis, Condi Damage
  • That Druid Rune looks very good BUT, how long does the Seed in Verdant Etching proc after the Initial Cast of the Glyph? 3 seconds might be too short for it to do Something.

This would be really great if all the people on this thread tell me what you think.

What gear are you currently using?

If its not made to be a full support build and is a DPSer with off-healing, then you can definitely swap out some gear for more damage, like zerker or if you need more survival, Magi.

Im using just exotic celestial and exotic Cleric staff. 254 Healing power to be exact.

Im not saying not full support on context, I mean like you can also be full support while not investing so much into healing power since I think it gives diminishing returns or just complete overkill for 1700+ healing power.

I mean like, you can go 800to 1k healing power only and do +toughness and +vit or something will getting almost the same results going full healing power.

If the goal is healing for a lot to full then this is easily achievable with 800 to 1k healing power Im guessing. If 1k and 1700 healing power can both get your team to full hp, that’s an extra 700 points you can invest elsewhere.

Well, the best choice for the foods is definitely the Delicious Rice Balls, with the Boon duration as well if you are less focused on the healing and more on the boons. Kralkachocolate Bar or Mango-Saffron Icecream are good healing power foods, any of the health steal foods (assuming you have crit chance) or even Mango Pies for something very cheap. If you want more damage, Orrian Steak or Truffle Steak are good, since the sweet & spicy butternut squash soup is so expensive. Or you could just stick with the Birthday Blaster

Zealots gear is mad expensive right now because of the insignia recipe, its about 140g or something atm? Plus the sprockets. But if you wait a while, the recipes will become available through the pact supply mastery thingo and come down in price. Hopefully Sprockets are more available too. Maybe stick with Clerics/Zerker mix until its at a reasonable price. Otherwise, you could make a Rampager Ascended set (the cheapest) and then make the 6 insignia and change the stats to Zealot in the forge, would be, say, 250g more expensive than a normal set of Ascended. I don’t know if they added the trinkets in ascended form with HoT.

How bout weapons? Where do I even see the insignias? I do not see them on the TP

I had a question on your link too, Why bountiful hunter? Allies Aid is really good when the need for ressing comes.

OR

Instinctive Reaction for more Dps and +100 power more.
I would also try the Fire Wyvern for the fire field for more might blasting.

Here’s a few more questions I have.

Sigil of Renewal vs Sigil of water?

Sun Spirit vs Stone Spirit?

Lastly, would you consider a sigil of benevolence on 1 set (%out going healing per stack) thats 12.5% outgoing healing on 25 stacks

The one I mentioned above could prolly lead more diverse food choices.

I used Bountiful Hunter because it will add 5% damage to you and your pet. I did have Allies Aid on there and that would be fine, but I figured super fast rez would not be needed in PvE. Maybe it is in the raid.

I used water because I wanted to heal the melee near the target, not the people around me. Plus it heals twice as often.

I used Sun Spirit because it contributes so much damage to the group over time, Stone Spirit is perfectly useful in its place, but a lot of other classes can provide that Protection and Sun Spirit is unique.

I didn’t include Benevolence because I don’t like stacking sigils. A ton of mobs do not add to the charges and you lose them so easily, making the sigil useless when you really need it, during the boss. Also, no idea if it is even possible to charge it up in the raid before the bosses.

Also, be careful of the Fire Wyvern, the F2 field will obscure red circles of death and may lead to death

You’d have to swap the armor and trinkets around though, probably Clerics is the way to go, since Zealots is crazy expensive atm.

If you want to heal, you need staff right now, and since there are no conditions on staff, you need to go power. Unfortunately.

Hiya Sticker its me, Lynn/Zerail. That one trash kid in pvp.

Go Water Runes. Monk overheals when you stat healing primary its just a wasted bonus. Consider Dwayna Runes or Altruism as well. Regen effects AF it seems. Though it is less effective then in BW3. Altruism gives boons.

As for Zealots vs Clerics, a lot is up for debate but I find Zealots too squishy and expensive. A mix may be optimal but a dead healer isnt healing anyone or doing any damage.

I love the water runes because it synergizes really well with Cultivated synergy (no pun intended)

Another thing I was considering is maybe trying the new stats we have, and experiment with gear having healing and concentration (boon duration)
