I’m leaving work, and thus not much time to comment, but I’m not so certain your trait spread is optimal. For one, BI is a must-have in a boonshare build, thats 5x might AND a random boon on interrupt, even if you’re only interrupting with C-storm it’ll pay off when you Stormshare (Chaos Storm + Signet)
The Restorative Mantras healing idea can work, but with both shattered conditions and vigorous revelations you’re going to badly need DE for clone fodder. Healing power scales lousy with Restorative, but I dunno how it works with the runes/sigils otherwise I’d lean towards Rabid ammy (or even, maybe, a hybrid?)
Also PU is holding you back if you’re only taking it for the boons. It’s not worth it over DE.
Keep tweaking though, you’re on to something.
Okay ill take BI, thanks chaos. But for DE, as I’ve said, Vigor Shatter works with only 1 clone because it procs with per shatter mechanic you use, not with the number of clones. The shattered conditions definitely works better with DE, but yea, i think with AA, phase retreat, torment block, phantasms would suffice.
Yes’ I’m getting PU for the boons but I also got it to increase survivability of the user, because once focused, it will be over, so no more support for the party.

I like how this build is different and shows a cooler support side of the Mesmer, but I feel like this would be more useful in medium-sized roaming parties in WvW. I say this because this build’s success seems to hinge on having a partner to share your boons with and support which could hinder your team if you’re up against a coordinated premade. That coupled with the fact that PU is bad at holding points (but good for this build) would essentially make it a 4.5v5 in conquest.
If you don’t mind, I would love to try using this in WvW or Courtyard in PvP as I can see real potential for this build in deathmatch!
Edit: I think Null Field over MoP could be really useful if you really wanna get into supporting teammates!

The reason I got MoP is because for its low CD, and you will be able to spam it with Restorative Mantras Trait. Null is good for boon strip and Condi Cleanse but on a 40 sec cd ( i think).
As you’ve said, I made this build entirely for supporting your partner. For example, I run shatter mes most of the time in spvp, so I could take care of the boonstrip and Burst part, my partner will take care of healing, defense, condi cleanse, and the additional condi pressure.
Signet of hunt, for me something like next 5 attack are unblock able so they can still counter you using blinds, dodge and invons now that would really help with melee builds would also combo better with signet of wild meaning hunt would be worth taking in some builds.
What do you think about letting the next 5 attacks daze for 0.5 sec each.

First off Daze is not the same as stun. I hope you realize that.
Second,. I do agree the 5 attacks 0.5 daze is overkill with Moment of Clarity

The one i quoted make it seem its 15 seconds of stun when clearly its not.
3 attacks would be nice. Since SoH will be on CD because you activate its Active. if I may incur Dojo only suggests on changing the active not the passive (%movspd).

Removed PU (Chaos’ Suggestion, but I have no Idea what survivability this build has)
Added Disenchanter for Boonstrip and Additional Condi Cleanse (Dondragora’s Suggestion, Disenchanter could also be used for fodder)
Runes of the Pack for AOE, Might Fury Swiftness)
Yes I have shatter traits and no DE.
Vigorous Revelation procs even with 1 clone for the full effect
Shattered Conditions is beneficial even with 1 or 2 clones.
*Disenchanter can be changed for Decoy for survivability
*Could go 0 into dueling (-100 prec, fury on phant, even tho i have 46% base crit chance) and go into Dom (+100 power and Signet Mastery or Phantasm Trait) or go into Illu (Retaliation trait with Reduced Shatter Cds)

It may not be super-effective, but I suspect it’ll be a fun build to mess around with. This is a sort of control-condition build where you try to catch your target[s] in a field, have them run out, then pull/push them back in, putting confusion on them each time. And during all this, kite them and put some phantasms on them, crippling them and hindering their movement to help your survivability.
This looks interesting. I’ll give it a shot. Anywho, ever tried replacing illu V with dazzling glamours? That blind trait is really strong for control.
@Blackari: Glad you enjoy! I actually haven’t used CS in quite some time, it is a hell of a lot of fun though, especially when you have Signet of Domination mixed in somewhere.
@Schattenlied: Double ranged may actually be one of the best bets for CS, especially with it being so squishy. If I didn’t absolutely love the aesthetic of two swords, I’d give it a run.
@Snakebyte: SlimChance pretty much said it best, and yeah I’d advise the speed sigil. Offhand Sword or Pistol is the best to use Confounding Suggestions with, and the extra daze/stun on a decent cooldown makes a big difference.

try going back to this step
The Fix:
Edit C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts using notepad (run as administrator)
Add this line at the bottom: 174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.comand remove that address and then open command prompt and do ipconfig /flushdns
then close it then disable your windows firewall and if you have a antivirus firewall running to try disabling it then once if it works then you can turn them back on after its done downloading and patching
I used that fix on the last patch, when i open notepad the address is already there, do you want me to add 1 more line? or remove the address?

Yes, removed the line now, and now its blazing fast. If ANET server guys are reading this, they must have one sick mind to mess with community solutions.
GW2 uses a CDN to deliver patches, which is basically a bunch of servers in different locations. Normally, the closest server to your location is chosen. That “fix” however was forcing you to connect to a specific server. The reason you would want to do this is to bypass a bad server that was either overloaded or experiencing problems. You wouldn’t however want to leave this fix in permanently because as you’ve seen, the servers can change. ArenaNet does not have control over this – it’s not their servers.
Before hardcoding in a specific IP, flush your DNS cache, then try a different DNS server, such as Google’s.
For the not tech savvy people, what do we do to fix this in lay man’s terms.

Reddit fix does not work for me. I’m trying to connect from Central Indiana. Have exactly the problem described in the reddit post though.
I pmed the tech MoD in the forums. Hopefully we get a response. Just to clarify, i patched early today with the new pvp and all that jazz and game worked fine, but this 2nd patch is the one that is problematic.

As titled, I cannot update the game. The download speed is at 0 KB/s, and then goes to connection error. Have to close window, close GW2.exe manually and repeat.
I’m in northern California and I use AT&T high speed.
Frustrating.

My frand infantrydiv Vee Wee just copied the other condi duration runes like Grenth and Orr! Vee Wee doesn’t think 25% chance of a 2 second burn isn’t thuper op! Much better than the original turning the 6 piece bonus into a 5 second burn and giving Incendiary Powder 7 seconds of burning! Vee Wee doesn’t even use Balthazar Runes on Vee Wee’s condi build! There is no hidden agenda!
As for the other unfrandly guy! Yeah subtle changes really made the Elementalist into what it is now! Extra blast finishers for a class with the most blast finishers and combo fields in the game, the revamp and reintroduction of a powerful amulet! Also the remodeling of a runeset into one of the strongest and most widely used runes! Buffing the power of the heal skill! Really subtle changes as opposed to shaving a few seconds of skill durations and giving passive procs a visible label! Get good son!

Ah you have a point there. I made mistake. The traits was supposed to be the enables the spirit to move and the proc bonus.
The glamour traits should be done now considering glamour has already been nerfed to the ground
If you merge it, a lot of classes will complain because you have to merge their traits too.
Ex: Trap potency & Trappers Expertise.
They should merge Glamour Master and Temporal Enchanter for a master trait too.
Unless you really want the skin, you can get the Toxic Spider Queen Mini. But yeah, it is mini. haha
So which one would be better, cele or condi amy? like dps wise.
In total, it should be our strongest weapon, but also completely and utterly unreliable. If all you need to bring is raw power and it doesn’t matter what specifically, Staff would be the weapon of choice and Chaos the line of choice. If you need any form of control, it’s the wrong tool.
This sounds like a mindblowingly awful weapon. It would be so incredibly unfun and aggravating both to use and and to have it used on you. When you get hit, you don’t know if it’s going to just fizzle or it’s going to incapacitate you, it’s pure RNG. When you’re using it, you’re just praying to RNGesus the whole time hoping that you’ll get good effects instead of useless ones.
I hope nothing even remotely like your vision makes its way into this game or any other game I play ever.

You can get a nice bleed stack with sb auto, and with the high rate of fire, even the regular damage it does, can add up quite quickly. Celestial is good with SB because sb is a kind of hybrid weapon. You can stack up tons of bleeds, crit very often with the rate of fire, and deal quite high overall DPS if you run a hybrid build.
That’s not to say cele is the only good stat that works with SB, but it maximizes both aspects of the bow.

I think the mesmer needs some serious revamps in major departments.

I think that’s just your perception. I’ve successfully played a Mesmer condi build without DE. All it takes is for you to figure out how else you’ll be creating clones.

I mean yeah i tried running without DE, in hotjoin it worked decent, also against unsuspecting foes, but when i go against higher rated matches and fellow mesmers from OMFG, running without DE is really hard, its like saying “Hey! From an sPvP point of view, it’s really hard I’ll be honest with you. I too have the same issues especially in high rated matches in tPvP and yoloQ.
What I’ll do is try to remain evasive, yet apply pressure to the ele and hit them when their Armor of Earth / Protection is off, allowing me to stun / daze them and burst; then at that point attempt to rotate my poison application to reduce their heals.
Let your pet do the dirty work while you bait them out of their cantrips, and force them to use their cooldowns. I hope this helps, Eles are tough to fight; thats for sure (hell my fights were like 3 minutes long vs. ele in that video)

So I’ll remain evasive in my axe, then burst with this combo (or atleast try to) : Weapon Swap, #5, #2, auto-attack (I’ll save leap for my healing spring), then at the same time, switch to Snow Owl, F2 for pet burst, chill, and quickness.
At that point you should have bursted them down far enough to scare them, and force them to heal; switch to your axe, use axe #4, then axe #5 to pull / DPS. Then re-apply poison w/ sword #3. Then switch to Jag, autoattack on your sword, let your Jag do heavy hits in stealth. Then repeat.

No offense but you are wrong. Signets are particularly powerful. The primary reason why people dont slot them in because The blurred inscriptions trait competes with DE with the major slot. you have to go 30 into dueling to get them both.
Lets take example signet of Midnight in a signet build.
24 sec cd, cleanses 1 condition, Aoe blind, 1 sec Invulnerable, Stun breaker.
If you wanna test its potential you can duel me. I use a signet interrupt condi build.
But I do have a question for you.

The ONLY issue with DE were it is, is simply that it takes away your choice of a selectable trait. Not because it’s the best trait in the tree. Instead because it is a necessity for a viable build in this game.
DE will always have a trait requirement. So would you prefer having it in another tree costing you at least 10-20 trait points extra thus losing out on some crit chance and crit damage without a choice? or keep everything that you need in 1 lovely pile….your choice

The pistol trait is decent. Its solid it’s not more amazing than DE however it sure would be nice to be able to grab that without having to go 30 in dueling or to not take DE don’t you think?
Also the most likely weapon for Mesmers to get is main hand pistol if anet does such a thing and that would make the change I am suggesting all the more meaningful.The signet trait is godly if you got your timing perfect and the right build for it.
(Although It takes skill and experience in both case’s you give off a sense of lacking.)As for the mantra trait I agree with you. There are much better choices. But hay I’m willing to bet someone could make a mantra phantasm tank build with this!
Although the one thing you don’t get is that you don’t have to take a master trait. You can take a adept trait instead. For example what if you had blade training and phantasmal fury for a offhand sword build? There are tons of different choices now made viable, and affordable.
As for the leftover trait by having DE 1 trait cheaper. What you do with it is totally up to your imagination. Seeing as you lack that allow me to simply state that if you don’t like the idea you should not whine as you can run the very same build you were running before by putting 4 points in dueling and grabbing sharper images were DE was located before my theoretical idea was used in this theoretical scenario.
Although I can tell you right now I’ve already come up with brilliant ideas on how to use that extra trait.
For example I could take my 20 20 0 30 0 build and instead run 10 15 0 30 10 or 10 15 10 30 0, or 10 15 10 0 30 build. and I know there is someone out there with a different way of looking at things that can make use of it in some way while still being perfectly viable and only losing out on around 2 crit chance and crit damage, and sharper images if they did not select that in their adept trait selection.Increased viable diversity with my suggestion? this argument is ultimately why Anets choice to remove Hex’s and Gw1 styled conditions and cast bars, and replace them with clones and phantasms as a classes core mechanic was such a terrible move.

This is why more often than not when you argue about DE you end up with the same three answers.
A. Well just move it lower or to a new line, they’ll open up builds (it wont, people will still go 4/4/0/0/6 or 4/2/0/2/6 or whatever)
B. Just make more clone Traits! Cool idea, how are you going to balance that if people take multiples of these type of traits? they cant all be GM traits. Would it be acceptable if you were able to generate 4 clones from mirror images there Pyro? and then 2 per dodge?
C. Mesmer class just needs a redo. either get rid of the clones gimmick or change how shatters work or buff my clones and phantasms or nerf clones and phantasms and make my mesmers the beast… blah blah..
This answer pretty much always ends up requiring Anet to go back to the drawing board, and then getting back to us about it “soon”.
Hence why i Think there is 0 use in making suggestions about certain traits and build diversity anymore. We got painted into a Corner on a few things and without totally kittening up Anet’s pretty paint job, there is absolutely no way to get out of it.

If you use it after stealing while the ele is in water attunement. Of course it would get cleansed immediately. Duh.
I think the actual problem should be fixed (how strong it is and that in turn our class is balanced around having it). Not the symptom (which you actually would by moving it).
What I’d do:
- Rebalance clone-generation vs shatter. Less clones generated who 100% copy the Mesmer in durability and ability usage (just not damage, none of their attacks should have any effect, rebalance AA attacks around that!). Shatter in turn hits much much harder.
- Deceptive Evasion now summons a temporary clone which always dodges exactly opposite the Mesmer and it is visually not possible to say who is who. Afterwards the clone will do two AA animations, then dissipate. Cannot be used for shattering.
This could work but would absolutely destroy on clone death builds. So if use rabid, my clones will copy my durability then leading them to be harder to kill in battle.
solves nothing and ultimately hurts build diversity.
you can play sliding tiles all day long and never get a better set up. Specially now that Illusionary Elasticity works on staff clones (for how long who knows).
Either take DE out and make it a natural thing that Mesmer always makes clones on dodge. or leave it where it is.
or just remove it from the game entirely and force mesmers to abandon a lot of tactics and 2 years worth of combat specialization.
Just Make it a mechanic. As I’ve said too many skills and mechanics run on clones/phantasm fuel.
Just having DE hurts Diversity. But again, it is our class mechanic.
I do agree that its always needed in all builds. (Maybe except Phantasm) but yeah, this is exactly the reason why I seldom play my mes now.
Lemme guess, what are the utilities? Decoy, Blink, Mod or A Cleanse?

Lockdown Build? DE needed. Decoy or Blink. A cleanse
Shatter Build? DE needed. A cleanse. Decoy or Blink (Null or Mantra)
PU build? DE needed. Decoy or Blink. A Cleanse (or without if with Traited Torch, AI = if it works properly) Blink or Veil. MI
Signet Build? DE will be needed because it shares a slot with Blurred Inscriptions, Unless you go 6 into dueling. Either Null or Mantra Cleanse because Cleansing Inscriptions is whack.
Trust me, it is very hard to play without DE. The whole mesmer mechanic runs on the phantasm/clones fuel.
