This issue has come up before to where some players who have had warhorn #5 unlocked for a long time suddenly found it to no longer be unlocked due to some obscure bug.
To fix:
Enter a zone appropriate for your character level (a zone where you are not down-leveled) and kill 1-5 enemies of your level (usually 1 is sufficient). This kill will award the necessary experience to re-unlock the skill.
Just wanted to mention that I think drop rates have gotten worse. At the start of the event I was getting one or two key pieces after a few hours of play going from floor to floor. The last 3 days I have not looted a single key piece from any floor and I am relying entirely on the key pieces from the merchant to make tri-keys. The loot I’ve been getting from the chest is not even worth the cost of getting the keys via the merchant. Won’t be doing that any more.

There should be “bags of grass” to pick up and use at the scarecrow build sites. This grass can also be used to feed the siamoths.
That’s great to hear Happy to help.
If the character select screen remains as it is, I would just really like it to have the lighting toggle added (day/night) just as the character creation screen does. I would really like to be able to take night time lighting shots of my characters at the character select screen, as well as turn off the super bright blinding screen that we are welcomed with currently.
Try to use the ‘Remove Dye’ tool on all dye areas of the armor that cannot be dyed and save the changes. Then go back in and dye to your liking, it should work normally again.
This is a very great idea. I would play and enjoy this content every day were it as you described.
Tried the repair command and it keeps downloading from the start i’ve and .dat file in the gw2 folder with a size of 17 gb how do i properly fix it?
Beware of Griefers Abusing the Instance Lock
- It’s ridiculous. Players are even intentionally being first in and first out so other people cannot inject anti-toxin which raises the global anti-toxin levels. ArenaNet stated that the tower will be around until the anti-toxin bar is filled and it is only increased by players injecting anti-toxin. Farmers want this to stick around for a long time so they are actively preventing anti-toxin from getting injected to prolong the farming as long as they can.
I’d find it hilarious if anti-toxin injections really don’t contribute to the progress bar and it has a set rate that it automatically progresses.
Imo that is my opinion also, same thing with the kiel votes
.
This game looks like a fork from the previous one(due certain evolution restrictions i’ve noticed ), so im not imaging the game with that capacity!
From the Release notes:
It would seem to be dependent on players injecting anti-toxin game-wide. If nobody injects anti-toxin then it should not increase. Unless Anet, you know, increases it artificially to ensure the content actually can come to an end and player injections do absolutely nothing to the anti-toxin indicator. I don’t know if I believe they are doing that, but I’m sure they have a contingency plan in place on how to handle a game-wide lack of players injecting anti-toxin to ensure the content can can be concluded before the next update.
First, in your in-game options menu check to make sure you do not have the “Stereoscopic 3D” setting enabled.
If disabling that option in-game does not fix the problem, then you are likely using an NVidia gpu and must disable or remove the Stereoscopic 3D from the NVidia GPU Utility.

Thought this was a good place to add this image.
It is Pre-Tower of Nightmares Kessex Hills transitioning into the toxic wasteland we see today.
I wonder how long the clean up efforts will take after ‘S’ (I refuse to say her name) and her krait/nightmare court alliance are defeated and pushed out of the area. I should hope at least 3-4 two-week updates where each update gradually fixes the zone. That would be really nice to see; a gradual reversion of the zone over several updates. Now that would be a living world.

Not to be taken as assaulting or confrontational, but educational.
I would just like to point out that “biological” and “organic” are the exact same thing and are synonyms of eachother. So “Bio-Organic” is redundant and would be the same as “Biological-Biological Weapon” or “Organic-Organic Weapon”.

Aquatic masks are not head armor, it is a different slot entirely. This is not confusing.
Your statement is not entirely accurate. Aquatic head armor clearly states “Head Armor” on the tool-tip description of every single aquatic head armor, just as dry-land head armor states “Head Armor” in their description tool-tips. Both dry-land and aquatic head armor stating in all of their tool-tips that they are all described as being “Head Armor”, while both having different functionality and not being interchangeable is exactly why I am requesting that they clearly state “Dry-land Head Armor” or “Aquatic Head Armor” in the descriptions for “Head Armor” skins in future releases. This would have been especially important with the Gas Mask skin as its appearance and described functionality would seem to permit it to be used underwater, which also caused this release page item description to be even more misleading, not just to me, to many others as well.

Definitely keep trying to solo the final instance so you can actually inject the anti-toxin and go through the bramble door and get the diver achievement with the goggles on a branch outside there.
If you go through with a group, unless you ask them to hang around and wait for you to do the anti-toxin injection and then do the dive achievement, expect them all to exit the instance as soon as they get their reward as many are sure to already have the achievements by now. Unless you were the first one in and the instance is based on your connection, everyone else leaving will collapse the instance due to being tied to one of them and you will not be able to inject anti-toxin or go get the goggle achievement.
Beware of Griefers Abusing the Instance Lock
It’s very sad. I don’t think anything can even be done about these griefers even if they are reported. Instances being tied to a player is intended. What can they even be reported for since there is no “Griefing” report option? Even then, how could it even be proven that they didn’t have to legitimately leave? It’s just a really bad idea for instances to be tied to a single player that many wish would be corrected.
I’m just warning you. Be very careful when going in with a group if you do not have the hybrid/dive/anti-toxin inject achievements and want them or are looking forward to injecting anti-toxin repeatedly.

I noticed working again last week.
That’s cool. I hadn’t had reason to visit the page until tonight. I thought I would update the thread stating that I noticed it working again and to thank those who put the effort into fixing it and Gaile for continuing to follow up on the issue until it was fixed. I wanted to let them know that their efforts are very much appreciated.
Personally, I think that Trend Micro is garbage and the Op’s problem is just one example of the nonsense I’ve had to deal with on customer’s PC’s – because of TM.
I use Avast (free). It (in my opinion) is the best free-version AV out there. It also happens to have the lightest resource usage of any antivirus program I’ve ever used.
Yes, there are better AV’s out there – but they don’t have free versions.
I fully agree with you about TM and Avast is also my AV of choice. I don’t see myself using anything else for a long time to come. If a client seems unhappy with their current AV, or is interested in my preference, I do not hesitate to point out the positive aspects of Avast and encourage them to switch to it.

Also, and this is not related to story, could we get more account unlockable rewards, instead of rewards that take up more and more bank space?
I really like the Zenith weapons. Not because they look pretty, but because I have them unlocked, and can spawn them when ever I want. Can all the other weapon and armor skins be like that from now on? Just unlock them for us, so we don’t have to keep them in our bank.
And if the skins are not going to be “unlocked” (which would logically be added to the ‘Unlocked Rewards’ area with the Zenith skins etc), then do not include the word “unlock” in the description of the skin/item on the release page as was done with the Gas Mask skin on the ToN release page. Players are very unhappy about this.
Also, if the skin is a head armor skin, do not say it can be applied to “any piece of head armor” if it cannot also be used on aquatic ‘head armor’, which is even called ‘Head Armor’ in their tool-tips. Clearly state “any dry-land head armor” or “any aquatic head armor” if it is one or the other. Saying “any piece of head armor” means any head armor, dry-land and aquatic.
Complete the meta achievement for The Nightmares Within to unlock a special Gasmask Skin! As the latest design in air purification and toxin prevention, the Gasmask is a universal skin that can be applied to any piece of head armor.
Both of these statements are not accurate and led many players to believe the skin would be “unlocked” and infinite use from the Unlocked Rewards area, as well as usable on “any” head armor, including aquatic, due to even stating it as being “universal”.
I guess what I am getting at is, please ensure that whoever is responsible for the wording used to describe rewards on the release page is more mindful of the wording used in the future. Frequently using incorrect and misleading wording in new item descriptions is not beneficial to anyone. This only leads to players feeling let down and misled (or even feeling lied to) when the information seems so grand and turns out to be much less so.

The ‘Security’ page loads properly with all appropriate data once again. Thank you very much for continuing to look into this, Gaile, and thank you to all others who had a hand in fixing this problem.
Ashley, thanks very much for the speedy response.
That didn’t work, unfortunately. But after it didn’t, I was able to trace it down to another poorly-behaved application that was interfering with GW2 for some reason.
Glad to hear you found the cause of your issue. If you would not mind, would you mention the name of the interfering application that caused the problem so this can be checked for in the future if others develop this issue? Thanks!
I wanted to use the T3 Prototype Helm to complete my asura’s outfit, but due to not being able to dye or hide the giant, bright blue disc and protrusion elements (as in my first image), she was left roaming Tyria without a helmet. Though she really is a cutie without a helmet, I really like her with the gas mask now to complete her look.

By “highlight objects” do you mean the displaying of their names when holding the ctrl key?
If so, under ‘Control Options’ and at the very bottom under ‘Miscellaneous’ are the keybinds for ‘Show Enemy Names’ and ‘Show Ally Names’. Do you currently have one of these bound to your ctrl key? Also, which ctrl key is not displaying their names upon holding of the key? ‘Left ctrl’ and ‘Right ctrl’ are separate keybinds and one key cannot be bound to display both enemy and ally names. Showing enemy names is ‘left ctrl’ by default, and showing ally names is ‘left alt’ by default. Also, showing the names above interactive objects is classified under ‘Show Enemy Names’ and holding the bound key for that function will also display the names of interactive objects (like ‘water buckets’).
If someone else is still having some TP issues, you may also want to try clearing your GW2 game cache.
Clear the game cache
Most TP-specific issues are primarily related to some temporary GW2 files where removing them will allow them to be recreated and the TP to function properly again.
The quickest way to clear the GW2 Cache is to:
If your search for “gw2cache” does not produce the folder I mentioned, then you will need to enable hidden files and folders in order to delete this cache folder.
Make hidden files visible and clear the game cache
—note—
By “window menus” I mean up at the top of the window where it says “File Edit View Tools Help”. If that bar does not display in your window for you along the top, then click the drop-down arrow next to the word “Organize” and then click on “Layout” and select “Menu bar” to enable showing of the menus (attached image #2).Another way to do Steps 3, 4 and 5 to make hidden folders visible is:
- Click your Start menu and then open Control Panel
- In your Control Panel, if items are sorted by “Category” then select “Appearance and Personalization” on the right side, then in the second bottom area under “Folder Options” click on “Show hidden files and folders”. This will open the same options dialogue box shown in attached image #1.
- Otherwise, if Control Panel is sorted by Icons, simply click on “Folder Options” from the list to bring up the options dialogue box shown in attached image #1.
Red Elements On Gas Mask
Description: Another armor piece that has unintended red elements on it.
The red elements are brighter and more apparent in some zones over others due to the lighting.
It has also been confirmed by other players that they are able to see the red elements on my character as well, so it is not an issue of only being visible to the user or related to local hardware/software configurations.
See if this helps:
It seems to be more than just the pupil being the tone of the skin, it appears that the entire texture for the eyeball has either been replaced with the color of the character’s skin or is suddenly like 85% transparent.
However, my ‘open world’ image seems to show the entire eyeball texture missing, and the skin tone we see is that of the inside of the back of the head.
I’d also like to point out that my eyes in the makeover kit screen look as they used to/like normal.
edit
Added a different angle of the camera clipped to better show the eyeball texture with the Wraith Mask visible and with head armor hidden to show the ‘natural’ eyeball texture.

Still a little left to tweak on her look, but the new daggers help bring her nearer to completion.
Morphic Resonance
You may want to check your entire system for infection. As Gw2.exe is an executable file with permitted firewall/anti-virus exceptions to access the internet, malicious software will look to alter it and other executables as they are run to allow the infection to spread and/or ‘call home’ and send your sensitive information over the internet. To be on the safe side, you should also look to change your email account password and game login password as soon as possible from a different computer or from that computer after you are sure that it is clean of infection.
Josh Davis was a godsend when he came into the bug forum. He frequently responded to bug reports and discussed them with us and would then forward the bug to the appropriate department/person and add it to their tracker to be fixed. Great for Josh, but unfortunate for us, is that he got a new title and seems to strictly work over with PvP related game facets now. Good for you Josh!
Unfortunately, this puts us right back where we were before his arrival. Notice that not a single bug was listed in yesterday’s patch notes? Under “Balance, bug-fixing, polish” was just a vague statement on optimizations. The lack of attention to bugs is one of the reasons I have now decided to no longer update the Bug Tracker sticky thread and have already sent a request to Josh Davis to un-sticky it. Another of the many reasons is the lack of player interest in adding bugs to that list for tracking. Then again, why keep adding bugs to track when they no longer receive dev responses acknowledging them and sending them off to get fixed, as well as bugs on the list never really getting off the list, even after a year of being reported. Even the armor clipping issues thread is full of clipping issues that have not been fixed, despite dozens reporting them for many, many months. To be fair and truthful, I’m not saying nothing is getting fixed. I’m sure one or two have been fixed over the last 6 months. Remember the Order of Whispers boots with the red daggers taking over 3 months to get fixed despite the issue having happened and gotten fixed in a day in the past, twice? I think even the huge lighting/texture flicker in front of the TP in the Grove finally got fixed after being that way for over a year. That was actually quite a surprise to see/not see anymore on a daily basis.
Anyway, I’m just saying that I’ve resigned from trying to help out in the bug forum as bug fixing is clearly no longer of any importance, despite being only minimally important before. Why bother putting the time into something that no longer has any value or serves any useful purpose?

“Complete the meta achievement for The Nightmares Within to unlock a special Gasmask Skin!”
As it specifically states the skin is unlocked, this indicated that it would be made available to the entire account in the “Unlocked Rewards” area and would be unlimited use, just as the other “unlocked” skins/items have been.
By using the word “unlock” in the description, this should, indeed, have been an account unlock skin with unlimited uses.
Since it appears it is a single use skin that it is not “unlocked”, the wording was not just misleading, it was flat out wrong. They should not have included “unlock” within the description of the meta reward.
I brought this and the “any piece of head armor” release page wording issues up days before this patch was released and there was plenty of time to make the correction to the wording so they would accurately describe the items.
::sigh::
silage
I noticed this issue as well, though my listings were for Open World Content so it does not seem limited to just Fractal LFG posts.
I’ve noticed this recurring issue for many trading post NPCs. The TP NPC becoming engaged in combat and the enemy being killed, or the TP NPC being killed in combat and then revived, causes them to no longer be able to offer TP access to players.
I notice this mostly with the TP NPC at the Queensdale – Altar Brook Trading Post
Previously, there would be an occasional centaur that would engage and bug the TP NPC, but they’ve since added an entire dynamic event to where the post is assaulted by centaurs. This DE often leads to all NPCs being killed and the bugging of the TP NPC after it has been revived frequently occurs.
(this same DE causes an issue of Mona being drawn into combat and then trapped in the water under the north bridge or being bugged under the ground which prevents her escort DE from being able to be activated)
The same issue of centaurs assaulting, killing and bugging the TP NPC occurs at the areas of Southforge Camp and Northpasture Camp in Cloven Hoof Pass of Harathi Hinterlands during the Ulgoth event chain.

Can anyone else confirm that this issue of black eyes has been corrected? It was not listed in the patch notes for today’s update as having been fixed.
My mistake.
I see here that this issue is being looked and should be getting resolved at the earliest convenience. Thanks for the persistence guys!
That is very good to hear. Thank you. If you would not mind terribly, and have time, could you also check on the Tybalt back item skin not being able to be deposited as well, please? Apparently it has never had a slot added.
I believe you cannot place the Kite City backpacks in the locker because there are technically two versions of the items, one MTX, and one reward achievable. This makes it so that the achievable version cannot be currently deposited.
Unfortunately, Mr. Chapman, that is the exact opposite of the situation. The tradeable versions cannot be deposited, only the fortune scrap acquired versions can be deposited.
You state that the achievable version, the fortune scrap acquired version, cannot be deposited, but that is the only version that can be deposited.
This has already been outlined back in July, is listed in the tracker sticky I have maintained for several months, and was already submitted for attention by Josh Davis back on August 26th.
Functionality (Hover on INFO for issue description)
I went into further detail in that thread on the issue as well…
How are non gem buyers supposed to compete with players who buy gems? I feel gw2 is becoming another mmo where you have to pay with real life money to be the best or grind until you are dead.
your argument is invalid.
all grind is optional in guild wars 2.
Every time I see/hear of something as being ‘optional’ it makes me think of Sarge in Red Vs. Blue saying “Options are optional.”
(had the episode linked, but due to the explicit nature those episodes I thought it best to not include it after all. Episode name is “Dealer Incentive” if you want to youtube it to see the reference)
:)
On topic though.
I’ve not once seen or felt that there was any aspect of the game that was only acquirable by spending real world money. However, grind being the only way to attain some items is very obvious, and intentional. Luckily for me, Deimos Tel Arin is right in saying that they are optional and are not required to maintain having ‘the best’ (which I assume you mean in stats and not in appearance as ‘best’ appearance is entirely subjective). Another aspect in which I am fortunate is that the items which require a lot of grinding to acquire also do not appeal to me in either a functional or aesthetic way.
Also, “to be the best”, as you stated, requires much more than simply having the highest stat valued items equipped.

Exactly what Shriketalon has put forth in both their thread and in the CDI- LS thread. It is spot on in its entirety with what I would like, as well as expected, and what I was surprised/disappointed to find was not what the LS/LW was going to be and has been. I’m actually curiously amazed by the amount of direct and repeated attention others’ ideas have received by devs in the CDI-LS thread (quite appropriately as they are very good ideas), yet Shriketalon’s extensively detailed concepts have not even gotten a nod of appreciation for the work put into them, let alone the near perfection of the ideas themselves. I’m just at a total loss for the appropriate words to express my confusion regarding the silence his ideas are met with by the devs.
Hopefully something very good will come from the CDI-LS and make its way into the GW2 world. Unfortunately, I expect any potential changes to the LS borne from the CDI-LS to be delayed by at least six to eight months before we see them represented in-game.
The patch to allow the skins to be tradeable only made that tradeability change to skins purchased from that day on (post-patch skins).
If your skin was purchased prior to the tradeability patch then it will remain as non-tradeable (pre-patch).
Why they desire for it to function this way is a mystery to all.
Regarding the wrong skin selection and the pre-patch skin remaining untradeable, I do not believe anything can be done about it. You can always file a support ticket and request either the skin you intended to purchase, or a tradeable version of the skin you currently have. I’ve heard of others going through support for these same issues and have also heard of some getting the change that they desired.
Click “Support” at the top of this page. (https://guildwars2.zendesk.com/home)
Then, on the support page, click “Submit a request” (super small text) in the very top right.
I’m sorry to hear of your situation with the skin, but good luck to you, DarlingDii.
And if it does, I would love it even more. BUT WE CAN ONLY HAVE ONE!
Why!? Why must you do this!
Throw the skin into the achievement skins! I want to use 9 of them! I want 18 of them, if we can use them under water too!
Give us some mean of acquiring more gasmasks or duplicating the skin somehow!
This is another area of concern for me regarding the wording used on the release page.
“Complete the meta achievement for The Nightmares Within to unlock a special Gasmask Skin!”
As it specifically states the skin is unlocked, this would imply that it would be made available to the entire account and would be unlimited use, just as the other “unlocked” skins/items have been. By using the word “unlock” in the description, this leads me to believe that it will, indeed, be an account unlock skin with unlimited uses. If it turns out that it is not “unlocked” and is actually a single use skin, then the wording should not have included “unlock” within the description of the meta reward.

It sounds like your UAC is not configured properly or some files cannot be modified while it attempts to update.
Also, you have 4gig of RAM, but are using a 32-bit Windows. 32-bit Windows cannot detect and use more than 3.5gig RAM. To use any additional RAM above 3.5gig you need to update to Windows 64-bit.
Have you already tried closing your game and re-opening it? Perhaps there is a transfer delay issue. This same issue pops up occasionally when moving items from the guild bank to the personal inventory, and from the private bank to personal inventory. It just seems to be lagged and the inventory doesn’t update with the new items. Re-logging usually updates it.
Are you saying that your trading post turns black or that your whole game screen turns black?
Try this:

have they fixed the clipping?- dont want to spend 800 gems on unfinished costume
I believe they did fix the issue of the character’s butt clipping right through the rear of the skirt. However, I still experience the ‘frills’ at the lower portion in the front still clipping into the thighs of the character during idle and combat animations, and the shoulder armor still clips right into the face of the character when in a combat stance, though it only seems to clip into the face when wielding a greatsword or hammer due to how they are held.
Chest armor is perfect though. I don’t really see any clipping issues with it when combining it with most non-phoenix leggings. Also goes great with human cultural T3 leggings.

It is likely that you are tracking (eye in the corner of the achievements) both daily and monthly achievements.
As your tracking panel on your screen will only list 5 tracked achievements at a time, you are probably only seeing the monthly achievements listed there due to the order in which you selected to track the achievements, or due to the tracked achievements being displayed by ‘Tier Completion’.
As it will likely take longer to complete the monthly achievements than the daily achievements, you will need to either un-track the monthly achievements for the tracked daily achievements to only be displayed, or you will need to adjust how the tracked achievements are displayed.
You can manually organize all tracked achievements in the “Watch List” section of the Achievements Panel. You can also organize them for displaying by ‘Tier Completion’ or ‘Total Completion’.
If you want to keep all of your monthlies tracked, as well as the dailies, but only want the dailies to display in your on-screen tracker, then you must either sort your “Watch List” by ‘Total Completion’, or manually arrange the dailies to the top of the list.
First:
If the issue persists:
Check the game for errors and repair it
If the issue still persists:
Delete the local.dat file
Try this as a last resort option to fix this issue. Deleting this file will also cause you to lose your saved game settings (graphics, stored login data, etc.) but may fix the problem. I made quite a detailed suggestion on “Necromancer Minion Acquisition and Management” that would help with making the necromancer actually function more like a proper necromancer with existing GW2 game mechanics. If you wouldn’t mind giving it a quick read I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
I haven’t revisited it in a while to work out minor details and potential issues as I posted it where suggestions should go; in the suggestions forum. That was probably a mistake, as it gets buried and unseen, and I should have posted it in the necromancer forum to get necromancer players’ views on it.
