Queen's Jubilee Completionist

Yep, as mentioned above, there are only 13 Jubilee achievements listed for the event, and the Jubilee Completionist requires 16. To get the other 3, to then finish the achievement, you must do 3 Jubilee related daily tasks. It sounds like you’ve already completed 2 of the 3 additional achievements needed to get the Jubilee Completionist Achievement and Mini-pet. The tool-tip info for Jubilee Completionist alludes to needing to also do Jubilee related dailies to complete it…but not very clearly at all.

Regarding the bug mentioned on the wiki, I earned my Completionist reward with my mini watchknight at the same time as completing the balloon tower tourist achievement. I got both my balloon and mini at the same time.

Cannot Dye OoW-Armor [Merged]

This issue has come about several times since the game released, but they had quickly fixed it at those times. It recently popped up again, though this time they have not even acknowledged it as having returned and it has gone unfixed for well over a month now. It may eventually be fixed, but with them not communicating to us that they are, indeed, fixing it, or even that they are aware of the bug having been reintroduced, we can only hope that one day (preferably before the end of the year) they will get around to fixing it again.

I highly recommend you to never log out a character with them in the Pavilion also. It just isn’t a good idea and might cause some problems and is being mentioning in other threads.

Stuck in the Crown Pavilion

It isn’t an instance, it’s a zone, so that is why there isn’t a ‘leave instance’ button.
Also, you can choose to waypoint to Divinity’s Reach or anywhere else. Bring up your map and go up a level when viewing it (to see the surface map which is above this zone) and choose any waypoint you want.

My character split into two

I guess I’m a bit out of the ordinary on this one. My split-personality didn’t come from a tonic or transformation. It happened right after claw of jormag event about 2 months ago. Unlike others, mine isn’t a mirror-image type clone (ie. reversed), no mine is actually identical to the actual character, only the real one is holding the weapon and has wings.

That is what mine was, a duplicate of myself minus the weapons and wings, like yours. It was also not related to any transform or tonic. Just hit the steps and it popped up behind me.

'Arc', 'Ganadreva' Longbows as Short Bows.

I really love the style of “Arc” and “Ganadreva”, but they are longbows only and I am primarily a short bow user. I request that these longbow appearances be made available to short bow users with no change to their appearances other than maybe adding some blue and gold/yellow glow to each of them (respectively), that would definitely be a welcome addition. Or, rather, simply make the silver portions shimmer like the Radiant achievement skins.

Achievement chest not appearing

The achievement bonuses have been in-game for quite a while now. I’m guessing you just started playing again a few days ago. If so, then the chests would be given in this order:

  • Day 1: 100 point chest
  • Day 2: 500 point chest
  • Day 3: 1,000 point chest
  • Day 4: 1,500 point chest
  • Day 5: 2,000 point chest

Q1. How many achievement chests have you received?
Q2. Exactly how many Achievement Points do you currently have?
Q3. Chests shown in your achievement panel are chests that are yet to be earned. What chest amount is shown at the far left?
Q4. On your achievements page, what are the values of your Account Bonuses at the far right?

If your current, as yet unearned achievement chest listed at the far left says 2,500, and the values of the account bonuses at the far right are as follows, then you have already received all of your earned chests and must wait until you earn 2,500 Achievement Points before earning the next chest at 2,500AP.

1% Gold Find (from 1,000AP chest)
1% Magic Find (from 500AP chest)
1% Karma Gain (from 1,500AP chest)
1% XP Gain (from 2,000AP chest)

The 2,000AP chest also awards the first selection of a Zenith Weapon Skin unlock. If you have a Zenith weapon skin unlocked in the Achievement Unlocked Rewards screen, then this is another giveaway that you’ve already received your last unlocked (2,000AP) achievement chest.

Major wallet problems

Um, since the game update on August 6th when the Wallet was introduced, all gold and currencies are shared across the entire account.

Since August 6th, any gold or currencies a character is in possession of will be added into the account currency pool (wallet) upon logging in with that character.

Since August 6th it has not been possible for anyone to have coin stored individually on characters, it is all pooled together and available to all characters.

You must have purchased something while on your guardian that took your pooled account gold from 61 gold down to 7 or so gold. Review your Trading Post Purchase History to see if you’ve purchased an item that you forgot about, and also check your “Items I’m Buying” (buy orders) as you may have accidentally made or forgotten about placing a buy order for an item.

I repeat, since August 6th, it has been impossible for you and everyone else to partition your gold across characters as once the character is logged into after this date, any currencies or tokens stored on that character have been automatically added into the Account Wallet. So your statement that you left gold in these amounts on your characters, actually shows that you have been spending your pooled gold.

Guardian: 61 gold
Necro: 3-4
Enge: 1-2
Warrior: 3-4
Mesmer: a few silver

So your account gold (all gold acquired by you by any character) went from 61 to 3 or 4 (big purchase), and then down to a few silver (some smaller purchases). Again, review your purchase history and existing buy orders to explain where your gold has gone.

Most of the time that I should be kicked for being AFK I do get the countdown every 10 seconds starting from 50 down to 10. I’ve only had one time where it only alerted me at 10 seconds…no message for 20, 30, 40 or 50. I’ve not had the issue you mentioned of not getting any message whatsoever, but close.

I took advantage of my first experience with having the ‘split’ to have some fun with my doppleganger and snap this screenshot after using a transform

Human Female Necromancer
I had just defeated an Aetherblade assault to unlock the gate on the Eastern Balloon Tower in Queensdale. I wanted to see if the chest was still bugged, and it was. So after I went back down the steps to leave in disappointment, I suddenly found a duplicate of myself left behind me on the stairway at the bottom of the tower. Having known about this issue from it being reported on the forums, I decided to take advantage of the situation with my doppleganger and popped a piece of Candy Corn Almond Brittle food as it sometimes transforms you into a Candy Corn Giant. It did, and I then pulled out my balloon.

[Fixed] Mini Watchknight Animation Glitch

Miniature Watchknight Animation Bug
A few seconds into the idle animation of the miniature, the Watchknight reaches their left hand over and rests it on the shaft of the staff in their right hand. The Watchknight immediately glitches and returns to the very start of the idle animation.

I was awarded my miniature Watchnight a while ago and immediately brought it out to look at it. My very first viewing I was amazed that the designer allowed it to go into the game with half of an animation. Was the mini even tested to see that it was animated properly? It can’t possibly be an oversight as it is very obvious to anyone looking at it for the first time. This leads me to believe that it wasn’t even tested or looked at by anyone before going out to the live servers in the update. Either that or it was intended to have a half-finished animation and then glitch back to the start of the animation.

I’ve been watching for anyone else to report this issue as I noticed it immediately, but no one else has yet. I doubt very much that it is only my Miniature Watchknight that is bugged, so perhaps nobody else has reported it yet because they haven’t seemed to even notice due to there apparently not being many others that use minis anymore (due to the issues with them), let alone actually admiring or even looking at them from time to time.

Someone over in the Bug Forum is having this same issue with their HD 5770 and they mentioned this popping up suddenly within the last two weeks. I am running an HD 5750 and do not have the issue, though in the above linked thread I mentioned that I use the old 12.10 drivers and CCC, instead of the 13.4 drivers and CCC for better performance and quality reasons. I also noted that about two weeks ago AMD released the 13.8 Beta driver set, and that this Beta Driver and CCC might have been installed automatically or by someone else and would account for the issue cropping up suddenly.

I ask you to run through that thread and see if anything mentioned helps you. I’ll keep looking to see if this is a known issue with the 13.8 beta package and for something that can correct it.

Crown Pavilion causes game crash

I’m thinking there may be an issue to where the game is having a problem putting you into an overflow server while attempting to log in on the character in the Pavilion. If someone ports down to the Pavilion and they are placed into an overflow server, then it usually does that just fine. But when you left your character in the Pavilion, upon logging back into them, if your server Pavilion was full then it’d try to place you into an overflow server at the same time as logging your character in…but it might be having an issue with doing that.

Possibly related is, do you remember if your character was in an overflow server at the time you last logged out and left them there in the Pavilion? Or were you in your own server’s Pavilion?

If you can, try to log in on the stuck character during hours where fewer players may be online so it won’t be attempting to put you into an overflow server. If it is an overflow issue, then you may not be able to log into them unless it can put you into your own server’s Pavilion, instead of it trying to force you into an overflow server while logging the character in.

I’ll also try to think of some other workaround to get you in again.

I was definitely in overflow and your post seems quite logical
I’ll probably give it another shot at a non-peak time and hopefully it’ll be resolved.

Thank you I really hope you’re able to get back in at another time and that the issue was related to what I mentioned so it’s easily resolved without having to go to Support.

I also strongly recommend to everyone to not log out a character with them inside the Pavilion as I don’t think anyone should trust temporary game areas enough to leave a character inside of them, especially with the history of overflow having issues in past updates. One can quickly run through the portal to the surface or manually waypoint up to Divinity’s Reach or elsewhere before logging out.

Black Lion Fonts

Personally, I feel that the Interface Size should not just be a slightly smaller, and less readable version with each smaller size selected, rather it should be a completely different design with fewer elements or streamlined features.

“Size” options should be: Full, Reduced, and Minimal
‘Full’ is what we use now, ‘Reduced’ would be a more streamlined interface with less graphics and empty space in the layout, and ‘Minimal’ would be a compact arrangement of elements with quick access to frequented listings and displaying of item information.

This trading post is simply the most clunky, poorly presented, poorly organized and poorly designed in-game store/auction house/trading post I’ve ever experienced in any game. Half of the search options don’t even work properly, and many items aren’t even listed in their own categories. When you can search for a specific category of an item, and by selecting that category you are shown results that actually exclude what you chose to search for…something is very, very wrong.

It is far from being professionally designed, let alone with the players’ needs in mind. My nephew even points out how crappy it is and asks why it isn’t like ‘this’…

Nephew: “Why can you only see the super low selling price for something? Why can’t you see all of the prices something is selling for when you go to sell something?”

Me: “To see all of the prices people are selling the item for you have to go to the ‘buy’ screen first and then come back to the ‘sell’ screen and just remember from the other screen what amount you should be selling it for.”

Nephew: "Wait, so if you go sell something, if you want to see that you should sell it for a dollar (silver) since that is what it’s worth and what tons of other people are selling it for, and not for a few pennies (copper) like some guy is selling them for, you need to pretend to go buy it first and hop back and forth?

Me: “Yep…”

Nephew: “Wow…that’s pretty dumb. Why not just have all of the buying prices and selling prices on the same screen? Or even the last 10 different prices so people know what the stuff is worth and what they should sell it for?”

Me: “…sigh… I love you, Jake.”

Yes, even a 10 year old can see how poorly it is implemented and can point out how it should logically and ideally function.

That’s pretty interesting that you were able to access your old server vault when guesting to your old server before you got your new guild vault trained up on your new server. I didn’t realize it would work that way.

My Divinity’s Reach map has shown the new area on it instead of the Great Collapse since the update came out. [screenshot]

However, on the same subject, why does Lion’s Arch’s map still show a bridge by the lighthouse where there is no longer a bridge? The world may never know…

Killing off Jennah would be a mistake, characters in a year from now will still defend her in story instances but in the open world she would be dead for a year and we would probably have a memorial of some kind.

That is assuming they do not also change the personal story according to changes that come about in the Living World. Perhaps they have had a team(s) working on altering the personal stories a bit to reflect the changes that have happened to the world. This would open up a lot of possibilities and give much needed freshness to the personal story.

Having a personal story that they change according to the changes made in the Living World would be the best thing they could do.
Having a personal story that changes over time would increase gem sales of new character slot purchases to run the updated personal stories, as well as happier players if they correct the crappiness underwhelming nature of the personal story (trahaerne, zhaitan, forced group dungeon in order to finish your “personal” story, Orders pointlessness, needless mentor/friend deaths, etc).

I don’t see very many down sides to having an evolving personal story, and I see many, many positives for having one that can change over time due to changes in the Living World updates.

Separatist Propaganda Posters Missing

That’s odd. The posters should be within range of the heart quest and that heart should have been completed back when you were there doing the achievement. I didn’t think it was possible to tear down all of the posters and not complete the heart.

Guild Bank

Knowing i could guest to my old server and take the items (i did not have space for ad the time) on any given time in the near future.

Guesting to your old server does not allow access to your old guild upgrades that you left on that server…how did you come to believe this was so? You are limited to the capacity of a guest (hence guesting) with access to your current server’s guild upgrades.

To access your old guild upgrades on your old server you must fully transfer back to that server. So, having left items in your old guild vault, you most now wait until you are able to transfer (not guest) back to your old server again, then empty your old guild vault out (store it all in your personal bank or on alts), then wait until you can fully transfer (not guest) back to your newly chosen server and place it all into your new guild vault you have there.

Emptying of an old guild vault prior to transferring to a new server is the smartest way to go. If one does not have enough room in their personal bank to store all the items from the guild vault, then it is better to make a few temporary alts simply for the purpose of storage while transferring worlds and until the new guild vault can be set up.

Fields of Ruin NPCs fighting each other

I’ve seen a couple of wargs attacking a third one, while this last one did nothing, somewhere a couple of days ago.
I wonder, how does this even happen? There’s no sort of class system that determines what attacks what? How do 2 npcs of the same class attack each other?

The wargs are in Brisban Wildlands. There are also two bears “sparring” with each other in Queensdale.

For what you are seeing I am guessing it involves projectiles and reflection skills.

Issue: Nearby Friendly Target Being Selected Unintentionally Due To Mouse Button Losing Focus and Reacquiring It Quickly

  • The recently added option to ‘Disable Right-click Targeting’ has helped with the linked issue of randomly selecting a nearby friendly target while moving your camera with the right mouse button. This happens because the mouse tracking has an issue to where the game reads you as releasing the mouse button (despite your having never released it) and then re-‘clicks’ the button down quickly. Due to this issue, if your cursor was over/near another friendly, then they become your new target as if you had intentionally clicked on them to select them.

You may find it helpful to uncheck the “Right-click to interact/attack” option. It helps stop the random NPC selection when the right mouse button starts having this tracking loss issue.

I also check the “Double-click to interact/attack” option so I interact with NPCs with a double left click.

  1. Are both your mouse and keyboard connected to your computer via USB or are either of the older PS2 type?
  2. If they are both USB, how many USB ports does your computer have?
  3. When you boot up your computer with them attached, and they are not functioning, have you unplugged them and plugged them back in? If so, do they still not work?
  4. If so, have you tried plugging them back in to different USB ports? If so, do they still not work?
  5. If they are USB, have you been able to plug any other USB device into the computer (cell phone, camera, mp3 player, etc) via USB cable to those ports and have that device be detected or work (usually connecting it to the USB will recharge the battery of the device or even turn it on, this is a clue that the port functions)?
  6. Do either the mouse or keyboard have any glowing lights on them to signify that they are receiving power?
  7. Does the keyboard numlock light glow after it boots to the desktop? If it is glowing, can you turn off numlock so the light goes off?

Trying to see if the keyboard and mouse may actually be fine, and that it may be the USB ports that have either gone bad (due to surges damaging the motherboard), if it may be related to a power save feature disabling the USB ports during startup, or if the USB ports have been disabled in the system BIOS for some reason.

I never trust standard surge protectors, especially in houses with questionable wiring and/or inconsistent voltage to outlets. I prefer to use a voltage regulator with built-in surge protection (usually runs about $40 USD, but got mine for $20 some years back).

Random Objects and huge problem

I agree with Kyllaa. Though in more detail, I believe it is due to a corrupted driver file. I recommend not just reinstalling your graphics drivers, but running a driver cleanup utility for your graphics card brand and OS version in order to completely remove any files that may be corrupt and then reinstalling the drivers.

Simply reinstalling drivers does not always replace the existing drivers and files. Many installers simply check the existing versions of the files to make sure they are properly ‘signed’ and are the correct file size, etc. If it matches, then it does not replace it, thus leaving the corrupted file to still be on your system even with a reinstall.

It’s best to uninstall/wipe existing drivers before reinstalling them. If you need some help with this, what version graphics card are you using? Nvidia, AMD? I can link you to the cleanup utility for your manufacturer and to the latest drivers if you need.

That is what I said…
By not having to hold the forward key in order to move forward, only one key is pressed.

Are you saying that, for you, even with autorun on so you are constantly moving in the direction you are facing (toward the sea floor), that hitting your strafe key causes autorun to stop working, as in, stops auto-moving forward while you strafe?

Character Creation Date

ArenaNet, would you please be so kind as to adjust the /age command to also include the date the character was created on instead of only stating how much time has been invested in-game on that character/all characters?

Or at least include the character creation date in the character select screen under the character info (location, map complete %, etc.) please?

Especially with many character birthdays coming up, it would be of considerable use to know exactly when our character’s birthdays actually are.

Bad armor detail on max settings with any set

I am using a Nvidia Geforce 750m 2gb GPU on my laptop and on my desktop I am using a AMD HD 5770 1gb , both are really close in performance, and I have all my setting on my CCC on max on my pc and in my laptop i have them in their default state , also , this problem started about 1 or 2 weeks ago and I havent changed any settings. but can you tell me those settigns you where talking about ? these are mine

As for why this suddenly started happening, about two weeks ago AMD released the 13.8 beta drivers, did you or someone else happen to install those drivers? What does your CCC show under Information for your current Catalyst version?

We are running almost the exact same card; I have a Radeon HD 5750.

I’ve tried to change my settings in-game and in my CCC to reproduce your texture issue so as to know which specific setting to change to correct it, but I can’t get my textures to look like that.

Though what is interesting is that your desktop screenshot is very similar to how bad my textures looked when I wiped my 12.10 CCC and drivers and installed the 13.4 CCC and drivers. Game looked horrible and had very bad FPS. The 13.4 CCC also doesn’t have the same options as 12.10 does. Here is an image of my 12.10 settings. I actually get better appearance and performance from Catalyst 12.10 drivers and CCC with my Radeon HD 5750 so I switched back to the 12.10 drivers and CCC. I don’t know why, but every time I wipe all traces of drivers and update to the 13.4 with the same graphics settings as in 12.10 my game runs at half the frames at many times less quality. I haven’t even tried messing with the 13.8 beta drivers yet, though I wouldn’t expect a different experience with those than what I’ve had with the 13.4 drivers.

Since we are running similar cards, would you consider cleaning out your 13.4 drivers and CCC and trying out the 12.10 drivers and CCC? I’m sure it would fix the textures issue and increase your performance.

So much for trying to help you.
I mentioned the autorun to state that it wasn’t a movement restriction in underwater combat, that it was actually related to key presses. It removing the 2nd key press was exactly my point.

CTRL+ALT+DEL is a pre-programmed key combination into the operating system itself. This combination completely ignores sticky keys and filter keys settings restrictions.

Yes, it all does make sense. Try out what I suggested and resolve your underwater movement issues, or don’t even try them and wait around for a bug to be fixed that doesn’t exist as it isn’t a bug.

Flames of Kryta not glowing

Ok. I went to the LA JP and once you jump down at the mouth to start the JP, from that point on having your shaders set to ‘low’ does not give any glow to your surroundings. Outside of the JP there is glow even with shaders set to ‘low’. So it is an issue with that JP to where it will not allow glow with the ‘low’ setting for shaders.

I haven’t tested in other JPs that have dark areas, though, so it may be all dark area JPs or it might just be the LA JP since you drop down below the zone surface to get into the JP. It might be related to the programming of how lighting is handled for that area due to being below the surface where lighting effects are handled differently. Perhaps there is a ‘shaders box’ to handle proper lighting there and maybe the one for the ‘low’ setting doesn’t extend down to the level of the JP. Or it’s just a programming bug as the lighting in that area is specific to that area, so it wasn’t properly coded to have a variation of lighting for the ‘low’ setting in that atmosphere.

As Flames of Kryta will mainly be used in the dark areas of jumping puzzles, I would hope they correct this bug for it to function properly regardless of the shaders setting used. I don’t know how many JPs have these dark areas in them or if the issue extends to those areas as well.

Q.
Have you (or anyone else) tried using your Flames of Kryta in a different jumping puzzle that has a darkened area? It would help to know if this is an LA JP only issue, or if it extends to other darkened JP areas.

It’s still weird that both the Mad Memoires and torches in WvW work, isn’t it? One would assume that it’s basically the same glow, i.e. piece of code.

I would think effect sharing (code copy/paste) is the likely choice they’d have made when creating the new torch item, so other items functioning normally while this one does not…it doesn’t make sense to me.

If you bring out your Flames of Kryta in a well-lit area, do you see orange glowing effects on your surroundings?

That is the Lion’s Arch jumping puzzle in your screencap, correct? I didn’t actually test my FoK in that area of that JP, so it may simply be an issue with that area to where the lighting is not showing due to something programmed into the lighting of that area.
I’ll take my torch to that JP to see if my FoK works there with the ‘low’ shaders setting.

I’m using Nvidia (Geforce 540M), current drivers, default options.
I can’t post any screenshots right now, but my graphics are set to the lowest possible options. Trying to find the cause of this bug, I increased every option one by one (wanting to try combinations later on), but stopped when I saw that the issue could be resolved by increasing the shaders quality — which, unfortunately, results in a severe FPS drop.
I also tried increasing every option except the Shaders — to no avail.

I’ll do some research into the GeForce Control Panel to see which graphics setting may be conflicting with ‘low’ shaders in-game and preventing the lighting from displaying.

I have never had any problem with strafing while swimming downward.
I can strafe while aiming my character downward with the right mouse button and pressing my forward key, while hitting my “descend/sink” bound key, as well as when using the auto-run (‘r’ default) key.

If you are unable to strafe while descending then it may be your keyboard settings. Perhaps your keyboard is only allowing so many keys to be pressed at one time before it disables an earlier key press (many keyboards are known to do this with many games due to a setting in Windows). So you may be moving forward toward the bottom and hitting your strafe key is disabling the forward key (this is sometimes accompanied with a beep sound from within the computer due to a Sticky Keys or Filter Keys setting unless your PC Speaker is muted).

You may want to check your ‘sticky keys’ and ‘filter keys’ keyboard settings to see if it is configured to ignore earlier key presses when additional keys are pressed.

I recommend completely disabling all aspects of Sticky Keys and Filter Keys.

Please read this, is it because i created the guild on FoW and now i’m on Piken Square?

Unless Anet has changed how things work recently, guild upgrades are world/server bound. When you move to another world/server, all guild upgrades, including the ability to make/modify your guild emblem, remain on that world/server.

So with you now being on a different world/server, you must retrain your guild emblem upgrade to be able to modify it on your new world/server.

A few questions for you:

  1. On your desktop, the screencap doesn’t show if it is also running in Windowed Fullscreen mode, as the laptop screencap includes that setting in view. Just curious, as graphics card utility settings may be applying a lower quality setting to a fullscreen application (if desktop is in fullscreen) versus higher quality settings in windowed fullscreen on the laptop.
  2. What brand graphics card are you using on your laptop?
  3. What brand graphics card are you using on your desktop?
  4. If running AMD on both, I know a few settings in the Catalyst Control Center that can force this lowered texture resolution if set to a low quality setting. The setting may be on High Quality on the laptop, and Low Quality on the desktop. (if using NVIDIA on one or both, then I’m sure there are comparable settings to check to ensure texture quality is on high in that brand’s utility).

Regarding #1, I noticed your desktop screencap also has the Gamma bar grayed out, which means it is also running in Windowed Fullscreen Mode. Ignore that question. It’s most likely an issue noted in the other questions about different graphics settings in the GPU utility on the desktop that is causing the lower resolution textures.

Check your GPU Utility on your desktop and ensure these settings are on ‘High’ or match your laptop:
