The veteran got thousands of ticket in the past three WvW Tournaments. They can rush for the new rewards faster than anybody. It is pretty unfair to the new WvW players. My suggestion is anet should launch another three WvW tournament for us. I will be awsome.

And the gold is still good, and with a coordinated group? They are fast!

Pip farmers are the only ones who see problems with pip acquisition. Those of us who have played the game, continue to play the game.
Saying “I for myself no longer really want to do WvW normally and i used to only play that mainly, all i do is log in and farm pips dont even care if the garrison is being lost as long i am like in outnumbered map for increase my pip acquisition” is something that a dedicated wvw player would never say, but a shiney hunter.
There is nothing wrong about being a shiny hunter. And reasons why pip acquisition is too low was already discussed in another thread, in details.
The difference between putting 20 hours a week in WvW and 40 is not dedication, it’s pure grinding.
You are correct that there is nothing wrong with being a shiny hunter, while I am not wrong in saying you are choosing to make the hunt grindy.
That is where the grindy argument falls on deaf ears. People still can hunt their shiny. It’s just going to cost you a lot of time.

It is time gated and that is just an objective fact regardless of how long you have played WvW, logical fallacies do not help further discussion.
Can’t speak for Trajan, but my feeling is the time gate feels appropriate which is why we don’t think of it as gated. It IS gated, and honestly, many of us are quite happy with the time. Mainly because we know, those that put the time in, and get it, have contributed to our favorite game mode.
Pip farmers contribute. Less than those that havoc or run with the Zerg, but flipping camps and sentries helps. Are there MORE helpful ways? Heck yes. But their flipping a sentry or flipping home camp is one less this others have to do.
No. just no.
People need to get past the Pips and play the game.
Worry less about someone else getting something sooner, and just play.
If you are not paying attention to it, how does it impact you? These players don’t fill a map… they aren’t taking up necessary space…

Someone can correct me on this if they moved last week and it doesn’t work like what’s stated in the patch notes, as anet’s notes have been kinda shotty.

- You must play on a world for an entire match in order to be eligible for earning pips.*
I think the second point clears it up for me. Playing an*entire* match on one server before pips earned. Then needing to get wood the next match, then the commitment bonus the third week.
BUT if someone misses wood (and has been on the server for weeks), then they would just need a week of getting wood to get the commitment bonus.
Hurts the jumpers some, but not the people who miss a week.
Too many are equating uneven/unlevel to unfair. The rewards are not level. Winning servers get more, population starved maps get more, increased ranks get more, commander tags get more.
It’s not meant to be even NOR level. But it IS fair.
My issue is a hypothetical situation but one that is realistically possible.
84 skirmishes in a week. What happens if one server wins 30 of them. Another wins 28, and the third wins 26. Assuming 2nd and third are similarly distributed and points are razor close. I don’t think any server deserves to climb up another tier nor do I think a server deserves to drop a tier in such a match up. I think they are do evenly matched that it shouldn’t separate them.
Depending on their war score, total wins matter less. So a server with awesome OCX coverage, could win all of the OCX skirmishes but finish third overall.
Like it or not, they drop under this system.
It appears as if Anet is willing to trial this. I don’t like it, but we’ll see its impact.
Blast is awesome. I can cast the spike, drop the water/chill field on it, and switch back to dmg or CC mode. Ice spike was never a significant part of my damage. Mostly casted on downs to keep them from an easy Rez.
The blast opens more opportunities to use. And really… 2 seconds is nothing. I can cast it, cast the water and chil , dodge the thief, and cast it again. Very little delay.
You’ll find plenty of “optimal” (shortest time) crafting guides, but those require a bit of money too, for example:

My advice, and I’ve 500 on all crafting disciplines, is to use discover to craft exotics with the materials you already have, refine all that you can when new materials unlock, and have a bit of patience. If possible kick a crafting booster too, but with 40ish exotics or less you should achieve that 500 and save a good amount of money too.
If you’re in need of raw materials, since you’re playing wvw only, try to get a https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Copper-Fed_Salvage-o-Matic so you can recycle blue-greens and bank or sell the results. Maybe it’s just me but I recieve plenty of mithril and silk for example.

I have stacks of Mithril and silk from my salvage-o-matic. Definitely makes crafting less expensive to attain.
Within 4 weeks people will be on here about the servers who are tanking to get lesser matchups etc.
Hasn’t Mag already been doing just that? They even brag about it which is odd. I guess they feel like nobody cares so why not turn up the toxicity a bit.
Have faced Mag, and I don’t think they do it more than at least 3 other servers. I guess the difference with this, is that the change makes it easier, where-as Glicko (as bad as it is) makes it slower.
But I easily could be wrong.
I just think the new system makes it far easier and faster for individual servers to manipulate the matchups. Bad or good? I think that’s a perspective thing.
Again, no one will explain Why maxing the tickets out each week should be easily obtainable?
And outnumbered is bad? It’s been great finding kindred spirits to keep the enemy’s BL from upgrading, starving supply, pulls their Zerg in, ninja’ing towers. And yes, when we have held a t-3 tower or keep, called out for help. THAT’s havoc and the buff rewards it. Sure, people abuse it, but I can name multiple mechanics in all games modes that people take advantage of. Worry less about them. Just play.
If you play the mode, you’ll get the skin. It just may take longer. Oh well.
Small bandage or not, actually for how WvW works atm, it was always the best scheme, since ANet never wanted to drop servers or to change the gamemode itself to something diferent and simplier to avoid alot of later problems.
Still until friday will be a mess for me wvw time :\ the population gap.. is really noticeable, hope to have at least some fun with that.
One thing that ANet needs to change is how they servers are set to full, meybe they can divide the day in 3 sectors and show the server status during those “sector” times, if guild, this would help guilds to transfer to more emptier timezones where those servers were stated overall full.
So, you must have the outnumbered buff all the time. That works out for you.

That logic is a little faulty though. The game doesn’t require you to do any achievement or farm for any shiny. But that doesn’t mean those achievements can’t be reasonable. I think a lot of us enjoy the challenge of pursuing something, but there’s always a balance to that. Anet initially sold their game on the premise that it wasn’t grindy like other mmo s
This is Grindy by choice. Logically, the skins offer you no benefit. So, it doesn’t go against ANETs premise.

I love the game mode, and will still play it, but I can’t get past the 2nd or 3rd chest weekly. It feels like I’m wasting my time there if I can’t actually get anywhere. Only getting 20-45 tickets a week isn’t really much.
I’d only like weapon skins, and armor skins, but at the current rate, it’d be years for someone like me being unable to put the required time in for capping weekly.
Other game modes are way more rewarding, and I think WvW should be as rewarding for all types of players wanting to do it, for both veterans and newcomers.
An influx of players is good for any game mode. Sure some will leave, but many newcomers will no doubt get hooked and have a blast. I just think tickets should be rewarded more often for chest rewards, instead of all at the end.

Other game modes have Always been more rewarding.
I am on record in here as saying that intra tuer chest rewards would be OK instead of just at the end of bronze/silver/etc
But decreasing the overall time? Decreasing the PiP requirements, decreasing ticket closet? No to all of these.

WvW isn’t disconnecting you. That was my point. It’s the game client and it will do it in any area, albeit might be different times in different areas.

i play only wvw. what wvw player can do while 2 hours in Q? all the time push random buttons?
The choice would be to press random buttons in LA while awaiting your que so the game client doesn’t kick you. Otherwise you can wait about 1-2 months for the ques to die down. Or switch servers to a lower population server.
As I understand it, you get the loyalty bonus AFTER the third week. So NEXT week is when loyalty will start.
From the wiki: "Played on the same world for three or more weeks. " So week 1-3 you r qualify, week 4+ you get the reward.

I wonder: if the one week applies to the wood chest acquisition after being in the world for 3 weeks. I.e. I’ve been on my home world for months, and have gotten the wooden chest For the last 4 weeks, miss a week, then only need 1 week to get the loyalty bonus back. Protects people who take a week off, and protects against abusing band wagons.

I stand for Q in EBG for example. i see Q 80ppl. i grab some coffee + phone talk while i wait in Q. return to my pc & see you been disconnected because you too long not moving…or something like that. For what this feature? Wait 1 hour in Q. then you dissconected & wait again 1-2 hours in Q. How ppl can play in wvw like that? EOTM? no tnx.

I too see a big problem in gaining pips. they should have switched something out, like, instead of more rank = more pips the rank should give you more chests per week. bronze with 2 chests and silver with 3 (more loot) etcpp.
the players should be equally treated, but the higher-ranks should get more loot.

Been pulled inside gates 2x so far by dragonhunters lately. They land the pull on you as you walk into a tower…..then it pulls you back and if you happen to be pulled toward the gate u get stuck in the gate. Then you get rekt cause ur stuck in a gate and a zerg is right there.
Almost lost a t3 tower because of this. I got inside and needed to pull the invul tactic to buy the zerg time to get here to save it……i get pulled into the gate after safely making it and get rekt. THANKFULLY i had time to return and go back and just BARELY made it before the gate fell (4% i think it was, 5% mbe). I pulled the invulnerability and it bought JUST enough time for the zerg to come and wipe them.
See? Now THAT is epic… as they were bombing and running over your corpse, you got to see poetic justice of their Zerg being wiped!!
I just wish we could banner the Lords again…. Ahh. Old school Garry fights….

Allowing a reset every 100 ranks or having some kind of timegate or cost to resetting is a very fair request.

We didnt even know what most of the abilities did, or how good they would be in combat. I dont consider it a fair request any more than I would expect to be given 100 agony resist for free when entering Fractals because I am a “new” Fractal player.

Because when they first come in, they don’t realize the importance of each track, or the lack of importance. After a while they figure out: oh crap, I need to ask a vet.
So a one time fix, at a rank of about 100 or 250 so by then, if they haven’t figured that out, then too dang bad.
The distribution needs to be in addition to the 175 from PIP’s. Or 10 tickets per repeated diamond completion. I would like this in addition to all the ideas you mentioned.

On topic, op is saying there are quite a few mag players that somehow manage to exploit some forms of glitch that cause players to be stuck in some spot.
I don’t know if is intentional or unintentional but pulls do have some side effects like making the person fly up in the air and drop down, it is weird.
I think the pull into the wall is a feature.
Or more likely, the fix for the moon shots on pulls.

Yes. It will take a lot of time. If you lose focus over 4 months then likely the game mode isn’t for you.
If you can’t play often enough to get the max tickets each week, then it takes longer.
A lot of people who have prioritized WvW as their primary game mode see no problem with the wait. We have waited for years for something… anything from WvW. We even note that we play because we enjoy the game mode. We don’t play for the agonies. (Meant shinies but had to leave the other word because reasons)
I have made 4 ascended back pieces which is most of what I need for WvW depending on my build, and I was able to do that from the tracks. Which took me about 6 months of playing WvW. Could have farmed the mats in the maps faster, but again, I made it by playing my favorite game mode.
If the game mode isn’t for you, then forget the shiny. If it’s what you really want, you’ll play the mode.
And yes, it takes a while

that analogy doesn’t hold, sadly. The problem is, if you don’t make 100 pips by the end of the week, you get zero reward.
100 pips = 100% of the wooden chest
99 pips = 0% of the wooden chest
98 pips = 0% of the wooden chest
1 pip = 0% of the wooden chestyou see, no matter how much you work, if you don’t hit the threshold, you get ZERO reward, not a fraction of the reward.
In real life veteran joe would’ve gotten 15 euros per hours, and newcomer jemery 11.50 per hour, but in this realty veteran joe gets a chest per hour, and newcomer jemery gets nothing per hour
Are we really talking about completing the wooden chest? I mean that’s entry level. If you haven’t completed that, you shouldn’t get tickets.
But as I agreed in another thread, I am OK with people being given tickets for thresholds within the chests. But wooden? I doubt that is what you ran into.

Played every content. PvE, PvP, WvW, Open World.And my WvW rank is 820. Clearly i don’t understand how people got 10k ranks.
Rank 1780 here. I get one more pip per tick that you. I am on the diamond chests now. I likely won’t finishe as I haven’t been able to play today. I STILL get skirmish tickets even if it’s not the MAX. And that’s OK. It means it will take me longer.
People that haven’t made WvW their primary mode for years never saw an issue with the rewards in WvW. Few who did, are complaining now. I and many others are happy, and OK with it taking a long time.
There is no reason these skins should be acquired any faster.
Yes. It will take a while. It’s OK. The back piece is for WvW time. Not time elsewhere.
This reward system is not encouraging to new-comers at all. Heck it isn’t even encouraging to partially old timers like me. Unless you are of a high rank, the number of pips and the length of time needed to even get all 175 tickets a week is too much for a working person like me. It seems here again that Anet has employed the same tactics used for hot maps, make everything time-gated. All the cringey voices in the world wouldn’t help people who have to work like me.
To put it specifically, the map queues died down within the first week. I guess many pve’ers saw how sick it was to get the rewards and simply left in cringe. Plus the rank simply rewards ppl who levelled hardcore in eotm. You earn ranks much faster in eotm k-trains then in wvw fighting for a tower or a camp.
I’m silver, I play casually, I did not get the ticket cap. I barely finished mithril and I truly did play about 2 hours a day (more than I normally put in in a week). I don’t mind, and I don’t see a problem. It is a cap, why does everyone think completing diamond is something meant for casual play? It is clearly meant as a reward for more dedicated “hardcore” players who put more time in.

If you want the Max tickets, then play the time to get it. If the time is insane, then you get there slower. But you get there.
WvW has always been different. I am OK with that. If it rubs people hard enough the wrong way, then they won’t get the skins. I see no problem with that.
More people WILL play for them, stay somewhat longer and are more likely to learn to like the mode.
I do understand it isn’t as friendly to newcomers and new players, WvW isn’t friendly to them anyway because of ranks and rank points.
It is the nature of WvW. It shouldn’t change just to appease people (of ALL game types) who want the skins faster.
Not botting. A lot of WvW players take short breaks and stick coins between keys to avoid getting booted while making a sammich, bio etc.

Have you ever ( R ) clicked on your heal skill to auto cast it? And auto run into a corner?
Try it. See how long you stay in WvW without being kicked.

I did receive tickets first time I completed diamond tier. But after that no tickets. So does this mean I will never get tickets now? I’m so confused:(

The tickets tracks reset at weekly WvW reset.(or are supposed to). Last week, it took a logout after reset to see this, but the track resets to the Wood chest after reset.
Well, if EOTM is not WvW then being/playing there should never ever increased WvW ranks in the first place.
WvW rank should only (now, in the future and in the past) be gained in WvW.
But as long as you can (and could) gain WvW rank in EOTM, EOTM is part of WvW, regardless of what some devs say to justify their decisions and the inconsistent system.
It’s the EDGE of The Mists. Not the mists. So, it is NOT WORLD vs WORLD. It MAY be realm vs realm, but not world (i.e. Server) vs world. So.. no pips.
I would definitely support the removal of WvW rank gain from there.
Edge of the Mists is still within the mists. Cause edge. Get it? Its still within. Even better, ever opened your map? you’ll see that it is located on top left side of the map next to the other borderlands. Game play is also the same. So it IS WvW rather you like it or not. It’s just that players turned it into a karma farm festival / they use it to level up characters. Originally it was suppose to be a solution for overflow when your borders had queue’s.
Going back ontopic, I do agree with the majority here. Seeing EOTM’s current state, i do not think it would be healthy for the game mode if that gets the same reward structure as WvW itself.
Perhaps a better solution would be to actually undo the linking of the servers. This would drop the queue’s and there for people would have non or less waiting time to actually enter WvW. On the other hand this might cause problem in low(er) populated servers. How ever if we look at how many people play WvW since the patch, this shouldn’t must be a problem. Considering more people are willing to join and tag up. Sure you still have to deal with new players and all. But that is just a matter of time and going through that learning curve. But i suppose that is a bit off topic and better to create a new post about it. More about that here

Sladi, I don’t think Anet understands satire… but yes, the tickets per week is a bit low, ~2 weeks needed for one ascended armor/weapon, and you have to spend more than 24 hours per week (or more) to get them. I would suggest double amount of tickets than we are currently receiving with each pip chest (and not increasing the max. that is 175, because already requires playing a lot of hours to get them)

The recent WvW focused patch was great with one exception. I feel the pip rewards are too high and max out the skirmish tickets much too quickly for WvW focused players. I consider myself a casual player of moderate WvW rank; however, because my focus is on WvW, I am able to max out my skirmish tickets by Sunday with minimal effort and time commitment.
I know I am not alone in this situation because with very casual playtime my entire guild maxes our rewards by the end of the weekend. After that we are just waiting for reset so we can collect more tickets.
As it stands now, I simply log in to play with my guild and rotate leading private raids with some of our other commanders. Lowering the pip rewards might even inspire me to put up a public commander tag and lead a zeg in glorious siege filled battle, vanquishing enemies on the borderlands and conquering keeps. I might even allow rangers into such raids!
Please consider my modest proposal of lowering the pip rewards for all WvW players. I would even suggest a minimal WvW rank before pips could be earned. Rank 500 seems quite reasonable to me. It can be reached with very little effort by even the most casual WvW player.
I would disagree as you point of playing because you enjoy it is why the more dedicated people play it. I won’t stop if I max out. That matters little.
Secondly, as frustrating as some new players without ranks can be, it is refreshing to have new blood come in to learn the game mode. Full disclosure: I am rank 1770, so middle of the road for ranks.

no, you don’t, but you keep believing that
Uh it’s called tagging, just like being in a party if u don’t do enough dmg to a target u don’t get credit. If ur solo your much less likely to get credit for tagging
How does your personal dps change when in a group or solo? for tagging as you say you need to damage a target. Guards have been tagging tons of enemies with their infamous “loot stick” doing miniscule damage for years.
Tagging requires you to do a certain minimum % of the total dmg of the target. If ur in a party or squad you share the dmg contribution of ur teammates. So if u have to do 5% of the total damage to a target to get tag credit, and your solo following a zerg, you might do 2% of the dmg yourself before the zerg kills the target and thus, you get no loot or wxp. Whereas if you do 2% of the dmg in a squad you get all the contribution of ur teammates which is the other 98% of the dmg, thus giving u tagging credit.
Your percentages may be wrong or right, however, it doesn’t apply to the squad damage. It applies to your PARTY’s damage within the squad.
Now, I can’t imagine you are the ONLY one being left out of squads (as if you are it suggests a whole other issue), so forming a party of the remnants will solve your ‘target tagging’ problem.
Well, if EOTM is not WvW then being/playing there should never ever increased WvW ranks in the first place.
WvW rank should only (now, in the future and in the past) be gained in WvW.
But as long as you can (and could) gain WvW rank in EOTM, EOTM is part of WvW, regardless of what some devs say to justify their decisions and the inconsistent system.
It’s the EDGE of The Mists. Not the mists. So, it is NOT WORLD vs WORLD. It MAY be realm vs realm, but not world (i.e. Server) vs world. So.. no pips.
I would definitely support the removal of WvW rank gain from there.
