Chill out guys
:)
…..was that a reaper pun?
yes
Tried the signet build. It has a slight overall dps gain due to the much higher might stacks. This will turn into a pretty big disadvantage in a group however where the might is wasted while the other build will gain the full effects of might.
Solo I would say this build is probably better, but can’t see it ever being better in a group.
then take CPC, close to death, keep spite signet, you know min/max on your own, but in general condi necro is a no no for even semi-organised groups – this is where dagger build shines
btw. some races are better for condi necro, especially sylvari (take root, the seed turrets upkeep like 15 bleeds). if not sylvari, take mistfire wolf available to all races (but gold gated;P)
edit: realized in your previous kill you used corruption stacks. in that case it’s obvious why the dps difference is so little. if you would use the corruption stacks with the signet version, you would see the real difference :P
(edited by Sublimatio.6981)
use all signets on cd, weapon swap on cd, ds 2+5 on cd, scepter skills on cd (BiP followed with scepter 4, and scepter 3 after spite signet, etc)
(edited by Sublimatio.6981)
I did not stack any might or anything, just whatever I gained from natural rotations. Staff ele only had 3 stacks of might and fury on average, dagger ele had ~9 stacks of might and fury. Condi necro doesn’t really stack any might either though, just the brief moments of BiP.
A group dps measurement would be best, but is much harder to organize lol. Going to retry in PvE on a husk tonight to see how my real dps stacks up.
If you say condi necro doesn’t stack might, it means you used a non-meta build. Meta condi necro build generates a lot of might stacks and upkeeps them. This makes me think that your calculations are probably not to be trusted
I’d like to see some update on reaper changes.
I’d rather play new fractals and explore new areas and lore+stories, or relive past gw1 events than do cliffside over and over with more cancerous instabilities every kittening time.
Is the intention to deincentivize dungeons
YesWhy?
It’s dead-end content and injects gold from thin air (so to speak) into the economy, causing inflation. Two very good reasons to make adjustments moving forward.
How about 75 people farming 50-100 champion bags an hour handing out 2-10 silver each. That’s without counting all the blue/green being sold to merchant. Pretty sure more gold is injected in the economy by people AFK-farming Silverwaste than dungeon runners.
embroidered purses are said to give 17s on average, according to the science posts from reddit. so you open 7-8 chests and it’s equal to doing a dungeon path. gg.
Is the intention to deincentivize dungeons
Yes
Why? It’s like deincentivizing to play the game at some level, why would developers ever do such a thing? I can understand taking the gold away for economy reasons, but give something back to keep the content alive. You should aim to have every part of your game 100% enjoyable and rewarding, this is what you wanted at release, to reward people everywhere they go, and now here you are admitting the intention of deincentivizing dungeons. It’s almost as bad as making SAB temporary.

You know what is the better prediction?
[Noob] has new Raid Mentors.
I’m not sure if this is going to happen as raids are designed for people who are already very good at the game and require premade teams with TS.
I don’t see anyone completing raids with newbies or semi-hardcore players. People who want to learn raids should already be capable of soloing dungeon content, aware of the game and combat mechanics and all they would need is a written guide just to know all attacks of the bosses – not necessarily a mentor showing how to do certain moves or rotations in practice.
[Noob] is aimed for people who want to get good enough to be accepted in high-end pve guilds – I think it’s their job to help a new guild member with understanding the raid mechanics (as it’s all the person should need at this time instead of a mentor running close and correcting his/her basic mistakes). Besides it would need a 10-man premade team and it’s not really possible with [Noob] format. What could be possible is an advanced theory mentorship or a link to written raid guides in the reference material section.
It’s basically a swirling winds that both wastes an utility slot and self-weakness-es you.
it also weakens mobs but yep this skill is underpowered as an utility
“but the most survivable class”
(edited by Sublimatio.6981)
Would change the wvw meta overnight. This kind of thing might actually discourage stacking
…that’s a good thing, right?
depends if someone likes stacking or not
Revenant has a lot of condi cleanse. Point is, they admitted it was a bad design yet kept in on one class despite numerous suggestions such as buffing corruption skills but making it %hp scarifice on use, etc
Necromancers are the only profession with self inflicted conditions, a trait for more self inflected conditions and multiple weapons, utilities and traits to transfer those conditions, so yeah, it is a profession mechanic. It’s designed to work that way.
They weren’t the only ones with revenant, but ANET scrapped it saying it’s a bad design but left it on necros GG
i like the idea but there aren’t many bosses in pve that block attacks – most notably grawl shaman
would be cool to have it as a smoke field
I’m just gonna go with the obvious “You’ll have to change it up depending on the encounter anyway” :P
Also, might be a bit off topic, but do you get a stack of decimate defenses whenever you hit an enemy with a new skill or does it stack whenever you deal damage? I’m mainly looking at Death Spiral here (I assume you apply 6x 2 stacks of vuln), so you’d get 5 stacks off a mob, which would be pretty ridiculous and the main reason why I think it doesn’t work like this. lol Also, is there an ICD/stack cap/what’s the duration on each stack?
I’m obviously assuming a ~7minute raid boss fight (for this build, I wouldn’t use it anyway cuz of blood magic)
You don’t stack decimate defenses – you only stack vuln. Depending how much vuln the mob has at the moment you hit, your crit chance adjusts accordingly
I’m a big fan of Reaper, I think it’ll turn out to be quite decent damage, not the best as in it surely won’t match Engi capabilities and probably not Ele, but it’ll be up there I’m quite sure (people reporting 42k gravediggers
I see 25-30k in more optimal group conditions just playing through some fractals/arah but 20k+ almost for sure).
So yeah, it’s nice
Im interested in Reaper providing the anchor role in raids while still maintaining almost top tier dps without actually using toughness on gear. So something like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNAR4dnM0A10gt0AebCs3glcBT6Gs1qBxTxu4XEKA0AWBA-TRBVwAA2fAhyvU6AKq+zFlgkCYgdVA-e
You might even be able to get away with scholar still. Otherwise i hope for a new runeset.
Also condi reaper with death nova spam might be fun.
that’s an interesting build but I’d take spite signet instead of corruption well, and maybe corrupter’s fervor for more dmg :P
add damage meters to squads!
I’m still thinking about switching from scholar to strength runes, keeping over 90% hp on reaper/necro is too hard especially when I’m lowmanning something (and i do most of the time) + not a lot of active defense. we’ll see
only lifesteal and unholy sanctuary can heal you through shroud, so no.
Yeah me too. I really like it and let’s be honest, nobody’s gonna heal their minions in the actual pvp/pve environment unless it’s for fun
I played some matches as reaper and I didn’t hit anyone with Gravedigger even a single time. It’s so slow that ppl asking for nerf are ridiculous
Rise! feedback:
1. I really like the new models
2. I’m satisfied with their HP and toughness
3. I like that some of them may still be alive (with like 15% hp) while I use the skill again
4. Good alternative for active defense skills, actually from my whole raid team I was the last to die because of it (we didn’t figure out how to negate the big aoe dmg and the minions soaked all the damage).
Awesome skill good job!
Things I really dislike:
- GS #5 and I’m not talking about functionality but behaviour. Every single skill you use when not facing target and releasing camera control (RMB), you turn around and use it. When I mash GS 5 without facing the mob, my character doesn’t turn and I get the error message. It’s extremely frustrating and it really did kill me sometimes.
- Energy sigil procs on shroud entry/exit. It messes up my whole energy management. I was forced to waste the energy sigil cooldown and I died many times because of it. Please either remove it or rework the sigil to grant a buff that replenishes your endurance once you are out of it.
- Elite shout needs to stun for at least 4 seconds. It’s underpowered. The gained boon should be something else, like quickness. (Would open many opportunities like Gravedigger spam with quickness while the mob/player is stunned and has to break stun or die)
- Other utility shouts – they are more pvp/wvw skills. I don’t like that, I suggest splitting their versions between pve and pvp/wvw and making them stronger in PvE (unblockable for whole party, much longer might, less cd/more boons corrupted, longer chill.
Also while I’m writing some feedback, please look at what Blood Is Power does and what Empower (guardian), then look which skill takes utility slot and which is a weapon skill. Thank you.
(edited by Sublimatio.6981)
So Vale Guardian is the last boss for this beta right?
there’s only one boss in this beta – the vale guardian. the 3 mobs before him are just fillers/trash mobs
its just sth like breachmaker fight 2.0
i like that the lore is going for bandits/white mantle
Actually this isn’t completely true – all sylvari hairstyles are created with glow in mind, with glow patterns on particular hair spots/leaves/thorns/bark. So if change my hair, I also want to change it’s glow colour – not only daytime colour.
i want to be able to change glow colour endlessly with my perma contract
Hi, like the topic says, it only makes sense as glow colour affects hairstyles pretty heavily. I have the permanent contract and I like changing colours drastically of my whole armor/hair but then the glow colour stays green and the whole look is ruined.
lingering curse nerf is horrible
My necromancer feels so meta when they ask me to switch him in for maw ;(
dw, in a month it will be replaced by revenant
why would you even play warrior? Necro has more dps

The self-inflicted condis are awful (especially 6 sec weakness on CPC) and it’s unfair that Revenant got theirs removed and reworked. I support the idea of corruption skills removing % of health for very powerful elite-like effects. Anet would have to rework the skills to make up for the sacrifice.
Im more concerned about druids elite being basically what our spiteful spirit should have been.
Indeed thats pretty saddening, although it’s still just a stronger version of retaliation. I would create a buff for pt members to deal the bonus damage – crittable and hard hitting of course, but lasting for 5-10 seconds only
(like the druid glyph for 10% dmg)
NECRO IS GETTING A PROJECTILE DESTRUCTION!!!!!
holy hell…..
I KNOW RIGHT?

This is gonna be Cleric staff guardian 2.0

http://dulfy.net/2014/06/30/gw2-necromancer-pve-guide-by-spoj/ i use these builds
for both solo and group content
who cares? it’s ugly
just some ideas.
mist form as a vampire is so needed. double the burning damage, make it resistant to poison (the effect, not the damage portion), all condi duration defense (wound healing capabilities)
and for lich, i would let his downed hp never degenerate and let him run around when downed and unable to be finished (except skills finishing like daredevil elite). you would need to dps down the downed hp in general.
(still the downed lich would have only downed state skills). summon swarm of bone minions on death, that attack and hopefully finish a foe.
for me lich should be all about the immortality, undead ARMY and impactful death
i love the ritualist idea
and vampire-cloud dodges omg!
i would make vital persistance baseline, move one of the useless adept traits from blood magic there and add a new adept one to blood magic that would interact with dark fields more (additional effect when blasting your dark fields)
that would hopefully help the reaper in raids, as the meta specs will be spite, blood magic and reaper
btw, i would generally rework dark fields just like light fields were reworked – make a dark aura that makes you lifesteal each time you hit something and transfer a condi to foe whenever it hits you, or sth.

Scorchrazor*
Ronan would be good for sylvari, and Wynne
You’re incorrect, havrouns can walk into the mists without any restrictions and they don’t lose any ability
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/revenant/We-still-haven-t-had-a-final-word-on-racials/first#post5490661
here Roy tells us that revenant won’t have racial skills. This makes norns lose the ability to transform, making all of norn revenant players similar to Jora from gw1 who had a huge plot about regaining this ability.
(not to mention sylvari players losing their ability to connect with nature/pale tree, asuras using their golems, humans praying to the gods <aren’t revenants more likely to talk with gods?>)
How do you feel about it? I’m pretty annoyed. Not that I’m RPer, but I like immersive games.
This isn’t fair, some of the racials (sylvari, mistfire wolf) are sometimes better than usual utilities. Besides, how can ANYBODY play a norn and not be able to transform? Now it’s not only bad, but also messing up the lore of the game. I might rethink playing revenant right now.
Suggestions:
- add energy cost versions of the skills for revenants
- make the racial skills stay in place after swapping a legend
>> would muddy the purity of each legends skill set
It’s not that anyone is forced to use the racial skills, everyone can choose to use them or not. Yes it would destroy ventari legend skillbar if you take healing racial skill but let’s be honest, the whole summoning-tablet mechanic is clunky and feels slow (the tablet should summon on swap and follow the revenant)
(or just disable racial skills only for ventari legend – the lazy way)
(edited by Sublimatio.6981)
