To say that we bought gems not armor is semantics. Gems are the way to get real life money into the game. The ‘gem’ itself does nothing until it’s traded.
I WANT THE ARMOR I BOUGHT. PERIOD. No substitutes, nor re-working.
If you want to keep the armor then role a Human and put in the time and effort to buy it just like the thousands of other players did, dont be lazy, dont be selfish.
Its not ArenaNets fault you are not capable of understanding how the gem store works.
I AM human, and I don’t like the regular stuff, I like it with fire. Furthermore mine is on my PvP character, where you only get cultural armor at rank 80 (virtually impossible to reach by the way, never obtained yet) and it’s not as cool. I want what I bought, it fit my race, was exactly what I liked and I finally got cultural armor in PvP (and still paid a price for it) that suited me. And to be frank I honestly couldn’t care other races can wear my precious “cultural armor”, I’m not that greedy. #RacialEqualityInGW2!
Not greedy but expect a virtually impossible to reach luxury item for a mere $10?
Last I heard, Anet has already said if they dislike the new flamekissed that they aren’t getting their T3 armor back – it’ll revert to the original exotic armor. Skin is lost. Forever. They have to rebuy it.
That is only an assumption due to the fact that a player by themselves cannot revert the skin, since a splitter will only give you back the item’s original skin.
ArenaNet has said that if you do not like the new skin, you can get a full refund and that support will take care of your individual needs, which implies they will fully fix the problem.
Someone said they asked Anet about this and submitted a ticket only to be told that no, they will not get their T3 skin back. They will get the original exotic armor back.
If that’s changed, good on Anet, but I haven’t heard it has.
Gaile made a post implying they are in the process of coming up with ways to fix it on a case by case basis but they won’t do it until the new one is out or people will then want to go back the new one if they like and cause even more problems ect.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Flamekissed/first#post3276620
You can buy a legendary from a gemstore.. Just pay for gems and trade.. I think that kind of commentary it isnt good for the whole mess we have here
i know right… buy gems, convert gems to gold, buy legendary… but do that with cultural t3 armor and …………..insta crucify!
Because there is a gemstore legendary for 1/3 the gem2gold conversion price of a regular legendary?
Getting HT3 with gems2gold costs ~$35. That’s 3 times the cost of flamekissed which was the exact same armor with fire effects. They didn’t even alter the base texture in any meaningful way.
Ctrl Shift H
Repeat to bring it back up
I am Charr and I use MEDIUM armour. Every time there is release of NEW armour I hope for something that is
Good looking
NOT clipping with the intire me
NOT Another coat that hides half of me under a tentThis time I gott ALL of this in one single armour!!!
When will there be one more good looking MEDIUM armour introduced – that will fit CHARR???
It gets cold at night, you’ll be happy you have that emergency tent with you.
^This. If they think 800 gems and reverting the armor back to its original skin (the very first skin used) is enough compensation for this whole fiasco, they better think again. A debacle as big as this cannot be satiated by that alone. In fact, that’ll only introduce another outrage.
Then again, there are people who believe it serves us right. Look what someone answered me on another thread. Priceless really.
…The answer by the community to the release of the Flamekissed armour was almost unanimous – hence the response from ANet that must have happened. In-game chat, forum chat, reddit, literally everywhere the community objections were present.
If you then went on to craft new objects in order to match the new looks – let’s face it, it is your own mistake. The mistake on ANet’s part to release this skin was like a “bug” of the game that should not have happened in the first place. The gem refund is all that you deserve, really. If you start being reasonable, it is anything but priceless, really. Just think it over. You will arrive at the same conclusion.
So you actually believe that people who lost their previous skin (which can be expensive, T3 and gem store set I look at you) and will only be refunded gems is fair? I mean you really believe this? For a mistake on Anet’s part? Some people are losing money here, some are losing a lot of gold here and you find it normal? And you tell me to be reasonable? LOL sure.
Before putting posts like this, stay informed. ANet, in their official response, stated that the support team will answer ALL the personal scenarios with regards to the acquistion of the skin. Instead of starting a mess, await the solution they propose to some personal cases. And yes, that’s part of being reasonable.
Best regards
Yeah it’s all nice and all but some people in this very thread have contacted the customer support who said otherwise so who are we supposed to believe now? The one who we are supposed to contact and deal with to be compensated or a forum post explaining how they didn’t see the new armor looked so much like the T3 one because it wasn’t obvious enough for their art team? Bait and switch at its finest and yet there are still people who tell you things like it serves us right for buying it. Amazing really.
Just be patient. If you do not like their solution, they also stated they would consider new ideas for the solution of the problem. Just stay tuned.
Best regards
Mabe another (Ooops We messed up) NPC like the one for gathering tools exchange, in the black lion that you can walk up with your unequiped armor and change it back to its previous state.. Like get my old T3 Back in exchange for my flameCloneT3. NPC changes armor back.. gives me my 800 gems back and we both are happy.. NPC has a job.. I have my old gear back… or can that be done ?
That would be the optimal choice. Remains to be seen if Anet will do it or if it can even be done. When you transmuted it you copied over the skin data from the T3 with the flame kissed skin data so even a splitter won’t save you. It sounds like the kind of problem that would require direct staff intervention to fix. I’m sure if enough people make a similar case then anet will come up with something since T3 is significantly more expensive than the other armors in the game.
Best part is that the male version of the bikini covers him head-to-toe and has a really nice helm.
I’m still waiting for nude Norn jester gear.
Hey Corpus Christi.2057!
Can I hire your massive community of exclusivity cry babies to get Anet to fix the ranger pet issues??
With your clout, Anet will delete the pet and have a new version up in no time …
Y’all just jelly because we QQ harder than you.
Gotta get used to the minorities, that’s ok!^^
Lol if QQ’ing at Anet really worked we’d have a full map of Cantha by now and Scarlet’s head would be on a pike in front of the mystic fountain.
Doesn’t look very legendary aside from the boss effects. But nice to see less Lisa Frank vomit items as legendaries.
Hmmm
since it appears customer service is about to make totally bone-headed move that will certainly lose them customers, it might be a really good idea to get hold of reps like Regina and Gaile (are those the right ones?) right NOW before this nonsense occurs. Maybe there is still time to head it off at the pass and to find a sensible solution that isn’t totally stupid.
That assumes the new armor isn’t just a tweaked mesh that isn’t a 1:1 of HT3 or a whole new armor in the same skimpy, belly dancer style. Anet was boneheaded enough to start this whole mess but they likely saw how many bought it and will try to keep the new mesh as close as they can to not only keep people happy but also to keep selling the armor.
People keep thinking it will be pug fugly and not at all the same when there is no reason for a for profit company to do something like that.
If you read the threads, you’ll see that there is a push among supporters of taking the current armor away to replace it with something not only different than T3, but something worse as well.
Having given those people what they want, having shown no inclination to even consider what those that purchased and like the Flamekissed armor want, and having not said anything to the contrary, it isn’t really unreasonable for people who are having their armor replaced against their will to be expecting the worst.
Granted, they said new art, which doesn’t even necessarily require a different mesh, as it could just be the skin over the mesh that they’re talking about.
But that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t do something like cover more skin or have a mask or helm that covers face and/or hair, effectively ruining what makes it look so good on norn and sylvari now – the ability to see hair, skin color, eye color, glows and tattoos – which combined with the flames lets people create some fantastic looks. Taking away any of those things effectively makes the armor an unsuitable replacement for people who like it for those reasons regardless of how nice it otherwise is.
Simply changing the length and cut of the skirt preventing people from seeing the flaming and decorative boots as they run is a big downgrade.
Anet wouldn’t do that (I hope, I’ll assume they are at least that competent)
They intentionally used the mesh/texture with no alteration besides the flame effect and we called them out on it. They pulled an xbox and 180’d so hard it threw off the earth’s rotation a little.
Now they have three choices.
1. They can make a brand new armor, in a completely different style kitten ing off the people who spent money and risk lowering the revenue from the armor if everyone hates it.
2. They can put it on the next best armor, for female anyway, which is probably Winged with maybe a different helmet and shoulders from other sets to get it as close as possible.
3. Take the T3 mesh and tweak the metal parts so they have a different mesh. Maybe something more fire shaped rather than the abstract blobs it has now.
None will make everyone happy but everyone assumes they will do #1 when it’s the least sound idea economically and public relations-wise.
I’d say it’s a toss up between 2 and 3 with 3 possibly more likely since their post made it sound like we were angry that it looked too similar rather than it’s the same exact armor so they may just try to tweak it a bit in an attempt to please as many people as possible.
Yeah in fact i would actually like to be able to see some supply, demand and volume indications to be able to forecast when is a good time to exchange !!!
Won’t happen. It all goes through anet, the same force the generates gems. They could generate an infinite number of gems and charge whatever they want in conversion. I’ll assume they have a complex algorithm running to simulate a dynamic market but so far the only rule to live by is the gem:gold ratio is progressively getting smaller with time.
Unless the majority of the player base stops buying gems this likely won’t ever change. Higher gem2gold ratios keep up with inflation so it’s always an attractive option for some easy gold and higher gold2gem ratios make sure people can’t just bypass the only revenue generating element of the game by throwing ingame wealth at it.
Good job with the QQ’ing, people. There’s finally a good looking skin available (other than that Mad King outfit that I would have bought if it had been an armor skin and not town clothes) and now due to a bunch of fake outrage by people who weren’t going to buy that skin no matter what it looked like, I can’t get it at all. Good job, indeed.
It didn’t bother me that it was based on an existing design, it looked pretty sharp, especially compared to the other stuff on offer. I was going to wait until I leveled up my latest alt to get it, but now all I can do is wait and hope that its’ replacement isn’t a total mess. Once again, GOOD JOB!!! (if you didn’t notice, the sarcasm is set to 11)
And you couldn’t make the in game version of the armor you loved so much for… reasons?
Since the whole thing goes through Anet, a party with an interest in keeping the conversion ratio high, we can come up with all kind of conspiracy theories till the devs lock the thread for some such reason.
Likely, they keep the gems2g value lower to keep inflation within tolerable limits. If people were able to inject gold into the game for negligible amounts of cash, prices on the Tp would spiral out of control and the game really would become pay2win.
talk to your credit card company, do a charge back with the claims of fraud. which is exactly what this is Anet advertised one item then turns around and says they are giving you a different one even though you already paid for it.
I work for a credit card company and have seen charge backs for a lot less.
lol you really think a company that sells digital lottery boxes doesn’t already have something in place to combat fraudulent charge backs?
Hmmm

Highly disappointed. I finally got a look I like for my elementalist sqooshbag and it is taken away. If people are so protective of Culturals, they should be locked to the stats they come with eg cannot be transmuted to Exotic/Ascended :p
I really hope the new skin is just as nice, or even an improvement. I’ll wait and see.
I have a feeling they will either put the effect on winged or reshape the mesh a bit so it no longer uses the exact same mesh as HT3.
gems are not real they have no real life value nor does gold anet can set any price for gems as they see fit
so 10$ > 160 make believe monies.
And they can revoke any armor skin they see fit it seems.
people can also charge back their credit cards as they see fit for fraud.
Might want to read that EULA before you get a lawyer there buddy. You also bought $10 worth of gems, not armor.

I’m glad they listened to majority of the community and I’m sure they will find a solution for people who put the skin on their existing t3.
yeah the majority of kitten whiny self entitle brats who are complaining about people who payed real life money while they paid make believe money.
this forum is so “kitten -backwards” in every other game with micro-transactions people have no problem with either buying APPEARANCE items with either real money or ingame currency. however here people have a hissy fit.
The original hissyfit should never have happened in the first place, or if it did it should have covered them all since all 3 sets were re-skins. The fact that it only targeted the light because it was cultural was the biggest hypocrisy of them all.
lol anyone can get the heavy and hobo set for cheap and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who even likes them at all.
Complaining that armor that was already universal is now universal is kind of pointless.
So basically you’re saying it’s ok to revamp one kind of skin but not another?
Yes I am.
If you seriously can’t understand the difference between a couple thousand karma or 60badge armor set, a 950Badge+5.44g armor set, and a 120g+crystals(~40g) racial armor set then I really don’t know what kind of discussion we could possibly have.
real life money > make believe money. ask any economist.
If $10 takes the same amount of work to make as 160g then you probably shouldn’t be spending such precious money on pixels you have no ownership over.
Alternatively you could also buy HT3 with real money which would come out to about $35.
35>10, ask any mathematician.
how is anet not completely at fault when they are the ones that chose what skin to release to begin with, and are now the ones deciding what to do about the situation?
Because apparently anet is our soulless puppet that we can just order around with QQ’s of Influencing +5 it seems.
I’m glad they listened to majority of the community and I’m sure they will find a solution for people who put the skin on their existing t3.

Maybe Scarlet and Trahearne will fall in love then elope and leave Tyria altogether?
They can move to Cantha and then we will never, ever see them again.

I love how people act like it’s something not worth getting worked up over as they are getting worked up over it.
I had tier 3 human cultural on my human elementalist, female. As soon as I saw the gem armor, I was really happy. I thought hey, my favourite armor in the game, now available to EVERYONE, with some cool-looking effects on it, too! Instead of being a kitten about “how exclusive and human-only this armor should be”, I said “thank you arenanet for making my elementalist look even more awesome, have my ten bucks”.
I am not as selfish as the majority of the community here. I prefer saying thank you, instead of “this skin is wrong”. In fact, if more t3 cultural armors would be remade, with extra animations (icy ones for the norn t3 heavy, electricity for asuras, etc), it would be freaking awesome. I don’t care if I have to pay gems or gold for it. I don’t care about who wears what. They’re skins. SKINS. Come on. You’re not gonna be paying attention to the skin while killing people in WvW or PvP, you just want the skin to look cool in Lion’s Arch!
But no, just because this community is selfish as hell, Arenanet are following what pleases their customers. And unfortunately, for them it’s the right decision. But I just want to add, that I just officially dislike this community a lot.
I really hope the new Flamekissed armor is awesome, because if it ain’t, I want my previous armor back.
Lol it’s like you people just can’t do basic math and comprehend the fact that it cost 1/3 the price of T3 armor.
Go through every post here and tally up the posts that complain about “exclusivity” and the ones pointing out how its the same armor for a fraction for the cost and I bet you you won’t find more folks complaining that other races can have the humans’ armor and a lot more people complaining about how their armor just droped in value by a whole lot because anet thought it should only be worth 60g after all.
Telling people they just have to deal with the items they earned dropping in value because you want something for cheap is also pretty kitten selfish and really eroding the sympathy I have for people who are having to deal with losing an armor they like.
I fail to see how your price argument has merit when the above people have already said they purchased T3. Value is not the issue. In fact there will still be people buying T3 human precisely because it doesn’t have the flame effect, or because they think the color patterning is different. The issue is that ANet was forced to remove an armor skin from the gem store and will be changing it because certain other community members had a tizzy because Human T3 had lost some of exclusivity, something which I think was long overdue. People wanted it. People paid for it. It’s not like the original is going anywhere, and it isn’t devalued. The people who wanted the gem store skin should still be able to get it. The people who already have it shouldn’t have it changed. I honestly have to feel sorry for the people at ANet for getting caught between this rock and hard place.
Well thank god a few people said they were cool with the devaluing of their gear. I guess I’ll completely change my valid opinion for absolutely no reason.
A couple people say they don’t care about the cost: “No one cares about cost at all!”
A couple people say they do care about the cost: “Vocal minority!”
I swear, I’m about 1 more hypocrisy bloated post from just actively taunting people over their loss.
Scarlet remindes me of Carmen Sandiego (from the “Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?” tv series). She just picked a random place on the world and started to do some random evil for no apparent reason. I guess we can say Scarlet Sandiego does the same: choose a random place on Tyria and start making trouble.
Woa now, Carmen helped us learn geography when we were knee high. Scarlet helped me learn that weak writing can earn you a living wage.
If so few people bought it and that it has now been removed. I don’t quite see what would be the problem of letting the people who bought it keep it. Chances are, there are so few of them you won’t even see it in game most of the time.
That would be far too logical lol
After all this you really think anet would put in a super duper limited edition armor with flame effects on a beloved skin and then never ever let people get it again?
I can maybe see the other two since they are far less popular but this would be a nightmare for them to deal with.
It’s also highly hypocritical since so many on the pro flame side seem to love ridiculing people on the other side for wanting “exclusive armor”. You can’t get much more exclusive than an armor that was only available for a few hours and then never ever again.
To be honest, I believe this skin was bought than much more than a hundred people. I was merely using their own argument against them. They try to make it sound like it’s a non issue because almost nobody had the time to buy it. If it’s the case I don’t see why it would bother them so much that we keep it so we don’t get screwed over a “mistake” made by Anet. What wrong would it do to them that a few hundred players get to keep a skin they enjoy and paid for? How egoist can one be really?
As for me, I’d rather have the skin stay the way it was and continue being sold with maybe other gem store cultural based skin in the future or even let this one be purchasable only by human character than all this current mess we’re in.
And I say that as someone with the emperor title so I bought my fair share of cultural armors in this game.As for the current price, I agree it’s cheap now but gems value keep on rising and who knows maybe this set will cost 200g in a few month….
My personal choice would be to just open up all racial armor for their current prices with the flame armor for 120g as well. Anet opened up something they should have never touched and the only way to solve it is to power forward and go all the way but I don’t really see them doing that.
Itd be a crap load of work to get sylvari, asura, and charr armor to work universally but they did this to themselves.
Or they could just tweak the mesh of flamekissed enough that it has the same basic silhouette but is distinctive enough to not be the same armor + fire that it is now.
Everyone’s worried that anet took back their BMW and is going to replace it with a Ford when they could just as easily get a Ferrari. This is the same company that made the Kasmeer and original HT3 armor in the first place after all.

Others make it so you can be useful and have fun even if you have only been playing for a few weeks. Eve did this perfectly by not having levels at all and tying character power to skills you queue to level up on their own as you play. Everything has a certain time it takes to complete and while you can’t use the big complex ships for a while, they have a pvp system that actually encourages the use of cheap small newbie ships in a big way so you are never useless to anyone.
That doesn’t sound very perfect. That sounds like anyone who started playing the game earlier will be more or less automatically better than anyone who started playing later. That is worse than anyone who plays more being automatically better than someone who plays less.
As for the leveling rate. In GW2 it seems fine. In theory you should be spending the time leveling learning how to handle the class but it doesn’t work out that way.
I certainly do not miss spending month getting from max-1 to max level.
I don’t think levels are necessary but there would need to be either a very extensive tutorial or some other way to indicate “you probably shouldn’t try this until you are a bit more experienced”.
Not at all. Some high tier ship classes can take months to train the specific skill lines for and are often too expensive for most combat where the risk of death is high enough to not warrant bringing in a ship worth so much.
It’s the cheap to produce mid level ships that are the backbone of most large scale fleet combat. Newbies are useful because fast, cheap to replace ships are perfect for snaring larger ships and the small cheap fast ship is the first real one you get as a new player. Not only can they do it out of the box, but it’s an essential role that you can’t do without or people could just warp away and you’d never kill them.
The other side of it being that the lowest level ore is the most used in the game so it always has a value to it so no matter your level you can make money with resource collecting if that’s your thing.
Things may have changed since i left but it’s a game where you can make money how you want while you play how you want as the skills you want train in the background independently.
It’s not a perfect game but it’s the only one I have ever run across besides GW1 that tried practical alternatives to the level/gear grind that every other MMO seems to think is mandatory these days. and is still chugging along years later and probably employs half the population of Iceland by now.

For your info
TOS has 0 legal validity in MOST countries expecially EUROPE.
I would say it has 0 validity across the world but i don t know how US laws treats the matter.TOS is only informative.
It’s completely legal in the US. There is some sticky room for contracts that actively charge money being able to be signed with a button but a ToS/EULA is completely binding in the US. People will try to act like ignorance makes them exempt from its contents but it was their choice to just mash “accept” without reading the thing. It’s all kind of silly anyway since virtually every single EULA regarding virtual goods exempts the buyer from all claims of ownership and is fairly common knowledge.
Anet could literally close the servers tomorrow forever and none of us could do a kitten thing about it.
I will be so kitten ed if they removed the race restriction for cultural armor. I chose female human thief for the sole purpose of looking at that hemisphere. If there is no race restriction, I would’ve chose norn since norn’s breast is the same size as a human’s head.
Idk, that cleavage on the T1 Med is pretty juicy.

Since you are new, maybe you wouldn’t mind deleting your characters? You can star off fresh on a new server if you do that.
Hmm so Jade Quarry sounds good except I don’t know when people will be on all the time unless it is Oceanic based, if I deleted my character wouldn’t I still have to pay in gems though?
Or wait 7 days?Black Gate or Jade Quarry will probably be fine. Both those servers tend to have some people on 24/7 pretty much. If you’re character is very low level you might as well delete and choose a new server. You do not have to pay or wait if you do this. It’s free.
I wouldn’t recommend swapping to BG unless you like 30 minute+ queues for Borderlands and 3 hour minimum queues for EB.
Ewww, that bad with the queues on BG? Yeah, then he might want to try JQ. The queue to EB isn’t that bad and there isn’t a queue for borderlands (but there are still people on the map).
BG’s cursed or something. We can muster our entire map on a commander and only get 40 people on a map that has multi hour queues.
Maybe the total player capacity on each map is only 120.
Its supposedly a fluid maximum that is based on the average population per server or some such deal but the most I have ever seen in one blob was 60-70.
what I am reading people would prefer to get what they want now at the cost of the entire game tomorrow. Thats what this boils down to upset a few thousand people who bought the armor now or end up losing credibility with the majority of the community.
I feel like a broken record but you guys sound like broken records also. Think about this on a much larger skill not just me and you. They let this slide why would people have any incentive to do anything? People’s trust in arena.net is already shaky because of the fractals update where people lost progression. People are fuming over the living story and scarlet. Adding this to the mix could easily destroy the game over the next few months.
trust me, a few thousand people did not buy this armor, maybe a couple hundred, and maybe less then 100 of them are actually complaining about getting a refund.
Lol @ a couple of hundred.
Most likely it will be around a few 100 I was being generous with my figure. How many people do you really think play the game? How many people do you think logged in on the one day it was available? The armor was not even on the store for 24hr’s. Assuming there where (I am being crazy generous) 15-20k people who logged in over the course of the armor being available. How many people do you think really bought that armor? Where hearing the very vocal minority who are upset the armor is being removed.
Without any figures, no one will know except ANET as to how many sold and it is also a minority of T3 owners that are complaining as well.
The only thing I can see for certain is that for the entire day today, ive only seen ONE person wearing this armor in all of lions arch.
I wouldn’t be surprised if many are stashing it to avoid getting too used to something they know will soon be disappearing.
If they keep it in the game it needs to be forever acquirable through an npc for normal T3 armor prices. I do agree that some people got shafted but creating an ultra exclusive, limited edition armor isn’t going to be a solution to the problem.
Anet created a no win situation and someone is going to ave to take a kick in the kitten to make it right. Unfortunately the best scenario would probably be to screw the folks with T3 armor but lessen the devaluing of their efforts by making sure that any future acquisitions of the T3 flamekissed armor comes with the same hefty price tag we all have to pay for T3 skins.
Actually, I would totally pay the 120g for the set. That’s how much I like having it on my male Sylvari. Not kidding in the slightest. Would that make you feel better, people who bought t3 human? I’m being serious – if the price were the same, would you still be quite so livid?
I wouldn’t have cared at all and I’m sure many of the others wouldn’t have either. It’s still a raw deal that human toons just got a particle effect while other races got a whole new armor but they could have just come out and said other racial armor reskins are coming and that would have solved the problem there.
For me it’s an issue of equal effort for equal reward even if the flames do make it even cooler than the normal T3.
The whole “I have to stick with crappy human elites” is more to do with skill imbalance and racials still being allowed in WvW when they never should be in any kind of pvp setting.

It’s free.

For those who purchased the T3 Human skin, their armor will remain slightly devalued, an unfortunate outcome of a poor decision made by Arena Net. No solution will completely rectify this wrong, but the current proposed solution only harms the entirety of another party. Arena Net needs to take responsibility concerning this substandard decision and their devaluation of one party, and not in-turn devalue another.

On oceanic/sea timezones? Usually by 3am central/1am pacific only EB has a queue and it’s usually not very long.
In the middle of a Scarlet/Trahearne fight.. odds are they would come to the conclusion that two of the Master Race squabbling on behalf of the lessers is silly.
And so would begin the Age of the Sylvari, with the world split between Trahearnia and The Scarlet Empire. Everything would revolve around one or the other. Or both.
oh and something something dragons bla bla bla. filler.
Does that mean we get to hyperbeam the Pale Tree? Because there ain’t no genocide like righteous fury genocide.
No. We would have plenty to do, collecting tribute for them and having events in their honor. For Achievement points, ofc.
Daily names would change. “kill ambient creatures” would become “Scarlet wants a Hat made of 30 fluffy Bunnies” Kill 5 Veterans would become “prove your worth to Trahearne by killing 5 Veterans and claiming he did it”
It will transform the game, and yet nothing will actually change, appropriate for both of these Characters.
Oh yeah. dragons yadda yadda. fit them in sometime.
I kneel to no shrubbery, sentient or otherwise. I guess it’s off to the acid mines for me then…
Something to keep in mind… While there were plenty of people who may have been unhappy that the light armor looked a lot like the T3 human and thus are now happy that it’s going to be changed, there are going to be a lot of people who are equally unhappy about said change because they bought it or wanted it, and now can’t keep it (I am among these). I wanted that armor skin… badly in fact. I’m not angry at ANet for changing it, I can understand that they need to satisfy as many customers as possible. HOWEVER I AM KITTENED OFF AT THE PART OF THE COMMUNITY THAT OVERREACTED TO THIS AND IS KEEPING ME FROM GETTING IT!
The thing people don’t get is that if we let this slide then nothing is sacred anymore. every luxury item is up for grabs. People would be a lot less polarized if things like Foefire’s Essense or Mjölnir suddenly showed up in the gem store for 600gems a pop with a slightly different color scheme.
Then at that point, why even try to earn gold anymore? We might as well all just stand around in LA having naked dance parties while we wait for our favorite gear to make it onto the gemstone at a fraction of the cost.

It depends. I hate leveling in games where I am constantly trying to get something that I am too low of a level to do/use yet. It feels like a chore that I have to go through before I can actually enjoy the game.
In short, I don’t mind slow leveling if I’m enjoying whats in arms reach instead of constantly staring longingly at the horizon. It should be part of the experience of the game, not a super boring training montage to the real fight.
I am extremely unhappy about this.
I LOVE the skin and as soon as I saw it I grabbed my wallet and brought it. Two of them, actually. Its been ages since I was so excited about the game, but since I got those skins I’ve been happily running around on characters I haven’t touched much because now they’re so pretty.
I will be asking for my MONEY back, not gems. I don’t want anything else from the gem store.
Why can’t those of us who brought it keep it? We get to have an exclusive rare skin THAT WE PAID FOR.
If I bought a couch there is NO WAY IN HELL the store owner could show up at my house, take the couch and offer me one I didn’t like as replacement. It would be godkitten insane. And illegal.
It makes me very upset that video game companies can get away with the same thing.
I bought it, its mine. Just let me keep it.
What they did was completely legal and well within their right.

Scarlet puts new skins on the gem store to make everyone mad and Anet takes the blame? Typical.
Thanks Obama!

Next year they’ll add a worse villain, and we’ll look back and say “I really wish Scarlet was still around instead of this guy”.
Not possible. The grand engineer of the entire apocalypse could be a cackling crack addict who farts on people as his attack and it would still be a better villain than Scarlet.
The solution is to have Trahearne bury Caladbolg in Scarlet’s face. She’s dead we can all be happy about that and Trahearne got rid of her for use so now we like him again.
lol some kitten who thought he could single handily control the price of an entire material like we all don’t have tons of them just sitting around to re-balance the market with.
More likely someone needed 250 for a legendary and didn’t know any better.
You need 250 of them for the gift of might. Beyond that the only other two major uses were Yakington’s book/the quiver of a thousand arrows and the Stygian Blade sword.
I guess maybe people use them for flame legion potions but I feel like if you run CoF enough you probably have the tokens to just buy them.
lol some kitten who thought he could single handily control the price of an entire material like we all don’t have tons of them just sitting around to re-balance the market with.
An odd choice since anet has apparently disabled the forge recipe to make the ‘choose your stats’ ascended back item so there goes a big use of claws right there.
I am not trying to be rude but a little common since would have gone a really long way. Common since says that them releasing a tier 3 remake on the ah would not fly. It’s kinda hard to feel bad for people when they really have no one to blame but them selfs for not using some common since.
This reminds me of a few years back when Dell (I think it was dell) listed a monitor for 15.99 instead of the real price of 159.99. There where people who had to wait over a week to get a refund. Common since told them the company made a mistake. I don’t really see how this is any different it was a poor mistake at that but common since we need more of it I think.
Wow, sure now it’s our fault that Anet screwed this up entirely. I’m more and more amazed by this community. I had a whisper earlier from someone basically saying “niark niark soon you won’t have this armor anymore”.
Why should I and other people who are out raged have to pay for there mistake? What makes the people who bought the armor better then the people who earned it? Please don’t give me a story about how much you spend on the gem shop. I personally spend between 15-45 dollars a month since I canceled my 3 wow accounts. My friend I know he has spent more then you cause he dropped 700 dollars yes dollars at one time so he could convert gem’s to gold to buy a legendary. His money so who are we to judge right.
lol he spent 700 dollars on something that isn’t his legally and can disappear at any time, for any reason beyond his control, all to impress a bunch of anonymous gamers who don’t even care whether he exists at all. That’s kind of sad.
I kinda thought the same thing but the way he explained it to me was.
1. He makes the money to afford it
2. He can’t play as much as he wants
3. Its his money (cause I told him I thought it was a foolish waste)
4. He spent over 500 on RNG boxers in Starwars the old republicAfter he told me all that I was like guess I really can’t judge you for it we all spend money on werid items from time to time.
I can respect a person’s right to spend their money how ever they choose but I still think it’s silly to spend that kind of money on anything you can’t hold in your hand, much less have any legal right to.
At least he got a good deal I guess. Probably would have cost him a couple grand in today’s market.
