I agree 100%. The best thing I find if you really want to enjoy the Ranger class is to just ignore your pet all together.

…………

No wonder why you guys getting kicked out of each dundgeon/fractal.

jaguar stalk + sic’em + RaO = 5k crits. (from the normal 1.5-2k each hit)

Yeah ignore them! Get a bear and a LB and stay at 1500m range with all passive signets. That’s gonna help!

At least if you use a Moa with a LB the Moa will be giving boons (if you use the F2) and healing the guys in Melee…

The only one that has a kinda-worthy special skill is the red moa for furry, but you should have a warhorn for that anyways. Also their damage is terrible.

Warhorn + red moa = perma fury with traits.

100% up time of fury on the whole team is a lot better than a couple of high crits from a cat if you can’t have both for some reason.

Been there since the beginning I think.

That’s the portal that would take us north of Brisban Wildands I believe. It’s no different than the Queen’s gate or the other door that would lead to the Crystal Desert when they finally feel like releasing those zones. Right now, they are all just place holders.

What about 2 thieves?

They’re either incredibly good, in which case you’ll explode you, or they’re bad and you’ll kill them.

If one of them is Venom Aura you’re dead.

I have yet to see two people play thief so abysmally bad that they both fail to take down a single target.

GW1 Nostalgia -- Why not just PLAY GW1?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Substance E.4852

The reason why people don’t play gw1 despite the obvious fact that it’s superior to gw2, is because the can’t. The population isn’t there.

Gosh, if all the chronic naysayer’s actually played GW1, wouldn’t that solve the population problem?

I mean, you keep saying GW1 is better; prove it ANET by playing it! Vote by filling the GW1 servers! Buy GW1 stuff! Show them how much better GW1 is, if that’s what you really think.

They decided to jump ship and abandon GW1 before they even put out Eye of the North. We were supposed to get another stand alone campaign in the theme of Aztec’ish jungle areas known as “Utopia”. Anet, however, for various reasons, decided that they didn’t want to deal with the limitations of GW1’s engine and the house of cards that the skill set had become and started work on a whole new game.

No amount of reverse migration or buying “GW1 stuff” will change their minds when they decided long ago during GW1’s still very healthy period that the game was good and done.

EotN was to build hype for GW2 and everything released after that was to keep us playing so GW1’s population would make GW2 seem like a good prospect.

Most of us stopped playing because there is only so much you can do when they game isn’t being updated regularly (or at all) anymore. There is a finite amount of pve and pvp rapidly stagnates.

It’s hardly niche, it can easily turn a team fight, and from what I’ve noticed most enemy teams are hesitant to focus you until the end when you’ve got that trait, ESPECIALLY if it won you a team fight.

I’d say if they had a significant advantage and downed you first, it is a failure on their part to plan out fight strategy to properly follow up if this trait alone turns a team fight around. Your team must still stop to res you, cutting their apm and creating more openings for the enemy team to both deal more damage/recuperate depending on the situation.

You don’t seem to realize how strong AoE condi removal and spamming blast finishers in that pool is…. 5 blast finishers = AoE 6k heal with 0 healing power, and they don’t NEED to Rez you, you’re a ranger, they just need to prevent them from finishing you and you’ll get up just fine.

I don’t know why they would bother keeping you from getting stopped over and over if you go down often and easily enough for this to see enough use to worth traiting for.

I’d rather have a ranger who stayed up to minimize possible rallies and instead made good, tactical use of the actual healing spring skill.

Nature’s Bounty on a voice build or Concentration Training with red/blue moa are both much better choices for team utility and the obvious benefit of Strength of Spirit on a pvt build goes without saying.

Impressive damage.

It’s sad how some Ranger builds require racial skills to be effective. You either have to be Norn to get the best burst damage or Asura for the best daze. So did Arenanet fail at making the racial skills just for flavour or did they fail at giving the Ranger skills that are better than racial skills?

#2, definitely.

Don’t think I have ever seen another class rely on racial aside from people abusing Snow Leopard Form to run or stealth away.

I personally don’t champ farm as I find it boring, I will maybe kill 3 or 4 before moving on ( dailies etc ) and at that I usually use FGS champs, sad thing is if the drops where not so screwed up in this game people wouldn’t resort to it, I mean like the other day I ran a lvl 28 Fractal, not a single rare or exotic, yet if I had ran the champ train for the same time as I took to do the Fractal, I would have walked away with gold/mats/rares/and maybe an exotic,

If they DONT get there loot tables sorted out more and more people will go to these farms, imagine a new player starting the game entering queensdale and being told by 40 people that the only way to make money/loot is to do this farm, as there is no other drops. ( and there not far wrong )

The game is in a sad state.

The problem is that GW2 is the mmo for people who hate mmo’s, or even really having to play a game at all.

If they suddenly woke up and switched money making to hard dungeon paths and high fractals instead of their silly rail shooter zergathon people would kitten a brick and cry on the forums till anet changed it back.

If anet wasn’t so interested in placating the lowest common denominator with a loose wallet and a gambling addiction we’d actually have the GW1 with a Y axis they envisioned rather than the “Same Great grind, less content WoWlite!” that they seem to keep pushing the game towards.

Are pve rangers really that bad?

in Ranger

Posted by: Substance E.4852

Substance E.4852

The problem isnt that ranger is a bad class but the balancing of all classes. If i just look at the ranger class i wouldnt have much to complain about. The same goes with any other class. The real problem appears when you compare the classes with eachother. For example: what can a ranger do what a war cant?
Nothing! A war can do much more damage, also has good grp buffs , can take more damage, has better aoe dps,… . Or take an ele: It has might/fury stacking, fiery grandsword, a lot of aoe damage/cc and range(!).
All in all the game gets dominated by the OPness of a few classes, because you basically need nothing different than damage, because with good damage everything dies within a second. So either make a proper class balancing or change the way pve works naimly its focus on pure damage.

Spotter and Frost Spirit. Also significant AOE healing if that is something that matters to you.

Warriors and rangers are in pretty much exactly the same place, warrior has banners + Empower Allies and ranger has Spotter + Frost Spirit. Damage is the same, might/fury stacking is roughly the same, etc. If you think warriors are OP and are complaining about rangers being bad then you need to play the game more.

I’d suggest playing the game more yourself. People don’t overload speed run groups with warriors for the ‘lulz’. They do it because crowd sourced min-maxing has time and again proven that they clear pve content the fastest with the least amount of effort.

The fastest class could be a walking kitten and speedclear’ers would still use it because it’s the best. They don’t bring/include rangers because they aren’t.

Well this was a buzzkill. I just started playing GW2, and even though I’m late to the party, I’m loving it! How can people hate on it this much? I pretty much despise WoW so I’m not sure how people are saying they might go back to WoW, the least interactive, least immersive, most gear based, calculator combat ever invented. The combat, the questing system, are all far better here in my rookie humble opinion.
I’ll admit that I never really got into GW1, but from my limited experience with it, it was entirely instanced right? No open world filled with other players, if you left town at all it was an instance. Anyways, I like this much better.

Welcome to the forums. If you where here a year ago you would have said pretty much the same thing, there is a really depressing group that always complains about pretty much the same thing over and over. They then blame everyone else and sit smug in their knowledge that they could design and run any game anywhere better than anyone else.

Right next to the group that takes any criticism of their favorite game personally like we just pushed their kid in the park.

Is it ok to farm these bandits?

Within a reasonable limit, it should be fine. I wouldn’t expect much in terms of rewards; they’re just trash mobs, and kind of a pain.

Maybe with a party, it could be a fun place to use a Killstreak Experience Booster.

There is no “reasonable limit.” Farm away till your heart’s content…..

You hit the DR pretty rapidly since they never stop spawning and it’s hardly worth the irritation with those ridiculous bomb spamming mobs constantly showing up.

And great Post Blood Red Arachnid, nailed the issue

A few are still around but I feel like a lot of them hightailed it or were forced to when Anet decided to dumb down virtually everything they did previously.

About the only thing in this game that feels more complex than GW1 is the stat and trait system which would be a good thing if most traits weren’t pointless and pve wasn’t “go zerk or go home”.

Aside from using it in WvW zerg balls, it has very little, if any real use.

A much better trait, and one that fits the name, would be one that revives downed players in a radius when you get downed. It would need a massive cooldown but it certainly would be better in WvW (like by a huge amount) and in dungeons.

Imagine being able to kamakaze to res the Lord or rally your allies.

The purpose of fractals was to add a vertical progression gear grind option to the game for those that like it, while still allowing those that don’t acces to all ingame content without grinding gear.

Yes, it’s tiresome to get all the AR you need for max level. However, it’s 99% player choice. You don’t HAVE to go there in order to enjoy fractal content. It’s like saying you should have instant acces to the semi-finals for a world sPvP tournament. If you want it, you’ll have to put time and effort into it. In some cases an extreme amount. However, the difference is that you can enjoy the content even without the grind.

Unlike World of Kittencraft, where you had to grind dungeons and reputation just to be able to enter raids that allowed you to grind to to enter the top level raids, you can enter Fractals at level 1 and enjoy them. That is the no-grind in the game that Anet is talking about.

Except that the issue was having to grind to access lvl 50 fractals which completely destroys your argument as it is exactly like having to grind to enter top level raids.

Yes, you can access Lvl1 Fractal from the get go but as RedShipRaider explains, you can’t just keep going like that and expect to reach the top.

So let’s look for something a bit less trollish and at least closer to reality. Such as full ascended trinkets, infused back and rings. From the standard +5 Infusions you can hit 30 Agony Resistance, leaving 40 to go with three Agony Infusion slots. Getting +13 Agony Infusions isn’t as absurd as +30’s at least. But you are still looking at 4,096 +1 Agony Infusions for each of them. This is far more than you can actually farm on your own, forcing you to go to the Trading Post for at least a portion of them. At 15 silver each, you are looking at 614 gold, and then another 61 and a quarter gold for the Th. Reagents needed to combine them. So 675 gold for each Agony Infusion, and you need three of them. And at the rate that FotM give gold, you are going to be at it for years before you have gathered 2k gold for this.

Fractals may not be gated by some kind of sub-dungeon but it certainly is gated by tremendous farming.

Guys, we paid the game. We’re not getting other big things. Spending money on gems is like buying hats in TF2, and all the few ’’new’’ features gw2 implemented can be copied in any MMO out there in 2014.
They throw away Trinity but now we’re all Berserker. They said no vertical progression and we’re now forced to farm for ascended(even for WvsW, bad choice guys, bad choice…). They said living world…and i see ONE map full of bots and afk ppl, tons of overflows of that same map, and the rest of the world is a desert.

This game had NOTHING special…not so-good, not so-bad, but it’s really nothing compared to GW1, who struggled to rise during ‘’Wow domination’‘, that was the only real ’’Guild Wars’’ game!

lol, sadly Valve still actually releases new weapons and balances existing ones from time to time all the while managing to maintain a fairly balanced RPG experience.

Im seriously thinking of buying Guild Wars and play it until the new MMOs im waiting for come out next year

It’s honestly about where it was when I stopped playing back in 2010 or so. Most of the areas are ghost towns but you can still find plenty in the market hubs spamming WTB/WTS and it seems like they still occasionally update it.

How long will it take me to get some of these nice skins and titles?

The HoM ones? Some are easy to get like the ones for completing the campaigns or the hero statue one. The armor one isn’t too hard to get if you grind the money since mats can be gotten pretty easily and the cheaper elite armor works just as good. The hardest ones are going to be the weapon and minipet monument because the weaps are very expensive and I don’t know how much of a market there is for minis so long after GW2 launched.

I have everything unlocked just up to the tier that gives you the spider with only one weapon in the monument so it’s not impossible but it takes a while.

On top of how insane it is to make everything you need the fact that I will never see one of them drop from something is also pretty sadpandaish. There isn’t even a steady way to even look for one, or a specific one that you want. It’s all super random like Precursors.

It’s a very unfun~ process. Doesn’t really matter what you guys’ opinion on mine is; this is just how I feel at the moment. It’s not fun. It’s just tedious.

The important thing to remember is that forumwarriors will take everything personally. Say you find something unfun and they will read it as you think it’s unfun for everyone and proceed to tell you how you are wrong for thinking so.

Some people just really like mindless grind and rather than go play a game with it in spades they twisted anet’s arm into shoehorning it into this game as well.

Substance E.4852

The main problem in IMO the AI.

When your opponent doesn’t provide a challenge you don’t need to further your skills and become proficient.

As it is the AI in GW2 exists in a completely different dimension than the players:

  • It simply doesn’t care about AoE
  • In fact it’s oblivious to any sort of positioning, if a ranged mob gets pulled close to a stacked zerk group it will continue to attack them with its ranged attack from up close where it’ll get whacked by the zerkers full force
  • It doesn’t time its (very very few) skills to interrupt/ spike players properly, spamming them when CD is down instead
  • Its only reason it sustains itself is because of a disproportionally large HP pool
  • The former excuses it from having to sue any heal skills ever, making player CC nigh irrelevant
  • Due to its extremely limited skillset it can’t into teamplay. Unless it’s something hardwired like the Gongplaying Dredge (note that they will proceed to use their gong buffs regardless if they’re in a group or not and that they will neglect attacking in favour of using that skill once it’s off CD, even if the player is near death and could be killed quickly it will still choose to play its gong instead) mobs don’t have anything to compliment each other.

The only merit I can give it is that it holds off its attack if you use one of those “Effect on block” skills like Thief’s Spear No.3

The mobs needs to change drastically, lower their HP and give them means to defend and heal themselves instead, make them smarter, make them pose an actual threat that doesn’t blindly rush into a group of zerkers stacked in a corner.
Above all make PvE being about something more than just plain damage. How did it go again Jon?
“DPS: Call it whatever you like—DPS, damage per second—we just call it DAMAGE, and when it comes to making red bars go down, you can never have enough of it. Don’t trivialize it though” well guess what, you just did

They tried making mobs run out of AOE/out of melee range in one of the betas. It ended up being hilarious because anyone with a stationary pulsing AOE on short CD (elementalists, guardians, etc.) could just totally shut down any mob, including bosses, just by spamming AOEs and watching it run around trying to get out instead of attacking.

Little wonder a system from GW1 (a resource based combat system) didn’t work in a skill spam one like GW2.

Mobs avoiding AoE made GW1 harder and much less brain dead, faceroll’y and yet had the exact opposite effect here.

From another thread:

“I play on Blackgate, and unless I want to show up nearly an hour early for Tequatl, I will get bumped to overflow.”

That was me, and that happens about twice per day. The rest of the kills are ghost towns (unlike pre-patch when he was downed almost every time).

I just thought it was ironic, two statements posted so close together: “Nobody does Teq any more,” and “I keep getting thrown into overflow when I go to Teq.”

Not really ironic, more a glaring commentary on the difference between an in the top population server like BG others that might even just be in the middle.

The game could really make do with some server consolidation but it’s one of those things people read as a giant red flag of trouble rather than something that just comes naturally to a game that isn’t constantly drawing in massive numbers of new people every month so they are probably very reluctant to do it.

The State of Balance discussion

in Ranger

Substance E.4852

I am all for the nirvana of perfect class balance. Some people have great ideas. Some just like to whine with no realistic suggestions. I am not suggesting everyone that complains about class balance is bad at the game. It does apply to quite a few though.

What I am saying is for these types of games, every class seems to take a turn at being on top. I don’t think it is an accident. As most say, PvE Rangers are one of the better classes out there. PvP – All we do is get complaints from the rest of the game about being overpowered. WvW? Personally I think we are middle of the pack. Better than some, worse than others. GvG in WvW? Probably not the best. But that goes to the heart of what I am saying. There will only ever be the top 4 or so classes that will be included. Those classes are fluid depending on class balancing and/or the community discovering new strategies. Dungeons? I don’t do dungeons but what I read is Rangers likely not the best. See note above re GvG WvW.

Overall if you l ook at the above Rangers are not bad overall. Every class could use some tweaking.

I don’t believe everyone who posts in class forums always has the best interests in the game. Many are self absorbed that are only interested in their class only. At the expense of everyone else. Some of the suggestions are laughable overpowered.

I absolutely agree with you.

With everything you mentioned in mind, that is exactly what I personally am hoping to take away from this thread; a list of improvements that at its core is just an elaborately explained list of features that have improvement potential, and then put them in an eventual subforum designed for devs to get feedback.

The only intention there is hopefully to either present some new perspective to the devs that they may not currently have, or to point out a particular weakness that they might actually agree with, in order for them to, if anything, perhaps streamline it a bit within their patching process so it makes it down the pipeline to the players quicker than other potential things they are thinking (like adding a new water spirit heal) that just may not be “meaningful” or “necessary” in the community’s eyes.

I’m hoping that the whole system ends up being a nice collaboration between the players and the devs. As you basically pointed out, it’s pretty silly to just jump into a game and expect perfect balance, and then leave if it isn’t perfectly balanced for another game that will be in the same situation just because that’s how MMO’s are.

That, I think, is the biggest thing that keeps me coming back to this game. That more and more, I see the devs looking at the players and seeing more from our perspective, as we in the community start to see more and more what they are attempting to do for us. I’m not by any means saying they are perfect, and a lot of the time, I’m very unsatisfied with ANet, but I do want to be around when all of the collaborative efforts and discussions pay off, and all of a sudden, we are looking at a final picture at what the game should look and play like.

There is a huge chance that it will probably never happen though haha, but it happened for me in Guild Wars 1, so I’m hoping that ANet pulls off one of those sneaky patches where all of a sudden, I sit back and think to myself that they probably couldn’t make the game any better from that point.

The chances that we will get something like the pet overhaul we saw in GW1 in this game seems less and less likely. It doesn’t even feel like any of the old mentality from GW1 days is left in the folks they brought over.

PvE, as in open world? If so, then Rangers are probably at the top.

Is there a class that isn’t? I’ve 6 of the classes at 80 (haven’t made a Mesmer or Engineer yet) and can’t say any of them have had any trouble in any open world content. Orr, events, bosses, you name it, they all do great. I think that’s a testament to the open world content level of ease than the classes themselves, though.

Ranger blows through mobs the fastest due to fury + pet and can AFK 99% of content thus making them best.

I’d suggest rolling a GS warrior and then you might rethink your opinion that we kill things the fastest in overworld pve.

You are not playing the right warrior build it seems, maybe not your playstyle.

Not the build, but more likely a lack of skill. I was basically responding to this …Go try playing a warrior, then come back and play your ranger; you too will feel the issues with the ranger magnify about 10x more.

Warriors are obviously in a good place now. 6 months ago when I was on my Ranger and fought a Warrior I felt bad because they didn’t have much of a chance. Now the roles are reversed

Ya, Anet kind of decided that class balance was turbo lame and made the Warrior amazing at pretty much everything. They reined it in a bit with the last patch but they are still extremely solid and probably won’t be going back any time soon, if ever.

  • 1 Second activation time with a 25 second cooldown (26 total)
  • Heals 850 hp per second for 10 seconds for a total of 8500.
  • Heals 1090 hp per second for 10 seconds for a total of 10900.
  • Heals for 327 Hp per second at 0 Healing power.
  • Heals for 419 Hp per second at 2000 Healing power.

There is almost no difference between the two heals. Statistically, there is a 6% difference in the amount of health you gain between the two, accounting for activation time, healing amount, and skill cooldown. The only difference is that one is a Burst heal, and the other one heals you over time. And both skills are far and away better than any other Ranger heal (except for Healing Spring with 90% boon duration)

You can read all the healing amounts in this thread::: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Healing-Skill-calculations/first#post3364762

2k more healing is a pretty big difference, combine that with the hilariously long cast and there is no reason to bring HaO unless you are fresh outa character creation.

Trolls can also be used at the start of a fight as a massive damage reduction measure for 10 seconds rather than when you need healing.

No offense intended to Mr. Chapman, but I stopped listening after top class in PvE. Yes it was a bug, but Rangers are in no way in a good position. Nor will they ever be able to reach it at this rate. Well, Time to go back to the tried and true. At least until those get nerfed as well.

Is anyone surprised?

They don’t leave us broken out of some malicious intent, they just genuinely don’t know how their own game works in practice.

I’m still waiting to hear their hilarious spin on the performance of pets in WvW zergs.

I want Scarlet to become an ally

Despite what she has done, I believe we can get past this misunderstanding. Sure she has killed a few people and she should pay for that somehow, but think about it, wouldnt you want to have someone as smart as her in your ranks fighting Dragons?

I for sure vouch for an “alliance” of “mutual interests” (we dont kill you, you give us weapons and your subordinates, seems fair enough).

I’m sure we can all get past our differences and join forces, after all, didnt we do something similar with the charrs even though we have a long history of pilage and massacres?

#Scarlet2014

Heh, it’s a cool idea but I got to “as smart as her” and now I’m cleaning up the remnants of my Pepsi

Well she is easily the smartest character in GW2.

Naturally, our little Saturday morning cartoon LS wouldn’t work without a villain that makes all the good guys look like complete morons.

I just want to see more rangers, period… At Desolation, in WvW, its about 6 players that run ranger and are NOT running some cheesy PvE rallybot build

I see them all the time on BG when not playing during NA primetime.

They are almost all pugs running around with longbows so I can’t say they aren’t rally bait bear/bow’s but they are there. I even see a few in the backbone primetime guilds but they tend to play a bit smarter.

They started out with that model and are still using this model.

Strolling past the broken corpses of glass cannons on the third floor of the Tower of Nightmares makes me think they are exploring a number of ways to dissuade ’Zerker-uber-alles.

Dodge this: tick-tick-tick-tick…

You’ll still die on a pure knights/pvt/clerics build if you play stupid and train every mob on the floor.

Saw plenty of good zerkers just saw through the floors like wheat threshers when playing smart.

The only place they have even remotely tried to discourage zerk gear is the tequatl fight where you can’t afford to spend time trying to kite damage and where zerk gear doesn’t mater because you can’t crit on him anymore.

So just because one build has too much evasion, we’re going to Nerf nearly every single ranger build? Logic?

You just explained the logic yourself – when “nearly every single Ranger build” includes one trait, its pretty %#&@ing obvious that trait is overpowered for its cost.

not to mention that you can take on ALL endgame content there is including WvW and sPvP, in full glass cannon and dodge your way out of harms way. All it takes is some timing. And honestly, we got so much vigor atm, in addition to a 50% passive trait (now 25%) that it is ridiculous.

To list all the vigor we got (100% endurance regen)
Vigor whenever someone lands a crit on YOU (15s CD, skirmishing) 6sec
Vigor on heal (Wilderness Survival) 6sec
Vigor on pet swap. in combat (Beastmastery) 6sec
Vigor when using Lightning Reflexes (Utility skill) 10sec

That is 28 seconds. 40 seconds if someone crits you and you swap pet before it runs out, and by then, you can use LR again, which means oh… 50 seconds. and by now you start the chain again, SO YOU CAN ACHIEVE PERMA VIGOR.

That means you can, technically have permanent 125% endurance regen while in combat. How awful.

The 25% and Vigor don’t stack…

Same goes with Guardians
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vigorous_Precision
Because of this they can spam dodge-roll healing
(though it’s an adept trait)

The sad thing is our traits should be swapped. Guardian is the class that should be the lazy, passive, turtle class and the ranger should be the quick footed one that gets buffs on crit.

Yea, I stopped playing my Ranger in wvw a while ago… I may revisit after this patch… I no longer wanted to fight the Anet’s opinion on what Rangers are suppose to be in WvW vs. my own opinion on what a Ranger should be in WvW.

I don’t even think they know what we are supposed to be in WvW.

Our only group utility is useless in a zerg fight and our solo roaming build is a cheese regen tank version of Engi/Necro with less conditions and aoe which means we can’t even join the zerg again if we wanted to on that build.

I play thief and i never liked bow classes in any games so im not here to wine since i dont really care much…i just come here to say as thief and mesmer that Ranger class is really, really BAD.Its not focused on range (best build is axe and dagger),pets are more usefull for thiefs to use them as stealth cower then for rangers, new heal skill is just just a joke…,rangers are i think only class that has no condition clear or stability..at least when u play with bow as u should since its archer class right? And at the end i will just say that me as noob thief never lost from a ranger in WvW,i kill them more easy then i kill those npc’s that guards capture points.Anet really…game should have good balance and all classes should be equal…make range good class that mains long bow, give them some escape skill and fix those brain damaged pets.

lol even other classes get it more than some rangers here.

A trait that we get automatically for putting points into our probably most useful attribute line, which means most of us will have it by default, makes it OP? You should apply for a job at anet, your game balance logic would fit right in.

Just FYI wildstar will be like Eve, in that you can/will be able to use ingame currency to buy game time.

Yes but only if other players buy game time, at a premium ($20 vs $15), and put it up for sale. Would it end up like our legendaries where only market players and speed runners have enough currency to buy it? If I’m paying for someone else’s ride I want proper compensation as in a whole lot of currency.

The price will create their version of gem exchange complainers. I can see the topics now.

“Fix CREED price”
“CREED price to high”
“Developers lied, can’t play for free”
“Stop CREED inflation”

System has been working fine in EvE for years so I don’t know why you think it will fail for no reason in Wildstar.

Granted, it works in EvE because I can buy a crap load of Isk through PLEX’s, get a Machariel with all the faction trimmings and lose it 15 minutes later to trolls and most of that money evaporates forever so there is a system in place to keep it at a stable price but ti will largely remain to be seen how Wildstar handles it.

Axe main and off hand

in Ranger

Posted by: Substance E.4852

Substance E.4852

I love that main hand axe is a throwing weapon, it makes it really unique. I just wish it didn’t have such an identity crisis. Give the auto bleeds or make Splitblade and Winter’s Bite actually do some direct damage.

I honestly prefer Winter’s Bite the way it is, since it not only chills, it provides your pet’s next attack with weakness, but which amazing at damage mitigation. Splitblade though I will agree is a bit….unusual, but the bleeds it provides are still useful to getting some dot ticks in. Not to mention splitblade essentially gives you 5 chances to have on crit effects trigger from 1 move, so there’s that aspect too.

True, but unless you are using it on a condition build, the bleeds don’t do enough to make up for the poor damage, especially when you have to be right next to the target to get the 5 bleeds/crit chances on a weapon that is supposed to be ranged which makes no sense.

Each axe should at least do the damage of one of the auto throws to actually reward the player getting into melee range on a weapon that otherwise enables you to not be.

Two-Handed Training in Nature magic

Their response to F2 abilities was “lol… no.” Feel free to check out the dec 10th thread if you don’t believe me.

Well, hopefully gw2 does something rather than waiting for it to alienate more wvw rangers.

Been over a year and they didn’t even extend the last pet HP buff to WvW so I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

If you want to operate well in a WvW zerg, learn to use the ranger as if the pet doesn’t exist because it won’t for most battles.
