Invisibility causing problem for ya? Haha, same old.
Rule #1. Do not put invisibility in multiplayer games.

Just let the commander choose the colour of his tag for greater coordination
“Follow Red commander” or
“Follow Blue commander” or
“Follow Yellow commander”…
… could be an easy way to split the zerg.
In this interview Izzy Cartwright talks vaguely about possible WvW changes that might dissuade the zergh.

Abandoned because the stuff required is way too pricey, and there’s no point going for a legendary when Arenanet haven’t told us how the upcoming AoE nerf will affect the weapons.

Warrior, Guardian and Elementalist v Thief
Thief wins easily by being invisible for more than 50% of the time.
It’s pretty obvious from March’s State of the Game that the devs think most things are Hunky Dory with thieves and that elementalists are the problem because they can DPS and tank and heal.
They state that invisibility that is the issue, and as a guardian I wonder HOW I can “punish the enemy for their position on the battlefield”, as stated in Jonathan Sharp’s Class Balance Philosophies when I can’t even see the thief? And now they talk about BOON HATE and nerfing of AoE (one of Jonathan Sharp’s Thief Counters – see above for this quote, “counter their stealth with area of effects”).

I don’t understand why confusion has been allowed to go on as it is for so long. Clearly ignorance on the part of the devs.
Let’s see if they make any comments in the imminent State of the Game. Does anybody know when it’s due?
Edit: I just read this announcement that the devs won’t be in it this month but after last month, I guess I can understand that, “Isn’t that a bit … strong?” made me lol.

F) Divide tower rewards based on the number of cappers.
This could potentially lead to people being hostile to allies, “Go away, we want to maximise the reward for our group”, for example.
H) Continuously provide free transfers to players on the top two or three tiers.
Only allow them to move away from high population servers, though. This could still be problematic when (admittedly rare) guilds with huge populations (such as Xaoc in EU) move around.
I) Remove AoE limits on offensive skills.
This would probably increase the use of the already prevalent bomb-group tactic.

The devs are too stup… err I mean…. devs are too busy to actually play guardians and realize that this boon hate system that youre alluding to is actually gonna hit several other classes.
The devs seem fixated on elementalists being everything (DPS, control, healing, tanking (tanking as in avoiding, repairing and mitigating damage)). That’s who boon hate is aimed at. I think they are neglecting the fact that Boon Hate will have any effect on what they’ve repeatedly referred to as the boon-centric melee class (supposedly guardians).
I think they will skyrocket if they ever get this precursor treasure hunt concept off the drawing board.
Guardian just feels really finished
Not sure if serious.
The most confusing thing is what the hell is taking the devs so long?
I think the #2 could do with a complete revamp. The slow moving Orb of nothingness is just awful. The other powers on staff are amazing.
I think the staff is arguably the best weapon the Guardian has. The 1 handed weapons need MUCH more attention.
The only thing guardians need is a beating with the nerf bat.
They are getting hit with the Thieves’ “boon hate” nerf bat.

Please could the devs move the anchor point higher up on the back of Asura models?
As you can see from this image, a slightly higher anchor point will allow the devs to stop shrinking the models when the weapons are stowed and prevent the weapon from clipping with the ground.

Also, when killing Dolyaks, a chest with slab of meat in it as reward is considered trolling.
They’re not shrinking when they are stowed. They are growing when they are equipped.
Anet did this because a huge weapon on an Asuran back would clip right into the ground (many still do) . And they grow on equip so everyone can see them better.
EDIT: I just looked at your pic, your version actually looks better
But I don’t think the problem is with staves, but the other weapons like greatsword.
The weapons certainly seem to be shrinking when stowed. They are too-realistically tiny!
The point at which the item is positioned (anchored?) on the back of the character, could be moved, couldn’t it?
The goal is to allow them to punish boons
Guardian here, what the kitten do you think you’re kittening doing??!!! Thieves already whoop us, we don’t need boon hate on top of that!
This is the kind of player that you guys want to balance around?
That’s bold.
Is this the kind of player that you guys want to balance around?
That’s bold.
how do we get dev attention and agreement on this. =(
Devs don’t seem too concerned with guardians, in fact they are still pushing ahead with this godawful “boon hate” bullkitten!
The goal is to allow them to punish boons

I’m crap at it, but I’d guess that you spend all day;
- looking for 15% profit margins, or
- buying up lots of low priced items so that the higher price you buy them upto is over 15% more than the median price. Or something.
No thanks. I’d rather have two-handed axes. But MOST of all, I’d like details of the AoE nerf, so I can finalise which legendary I want to go for.
0 keys, 0 tickets, and am proud of myself.
I wish there were more like us
There are
Dzag give up using tactics and golem rush with 10+ golems.
And a golem rush is what, lack of imagination? A valid way, just as any other that doesn’t include exploiting game bugs.
Hopefully our guys grow a pair and start hitting you soon, still baffled by our obsession with ROF.
I am more baffled by Dzago’s obsession against GH, at least in borderlands; virtually no massive Dzago attacks onto RoF bl, and technically that would give them some easier points. I mean, reset night – RoF bl all red, Dzago flipping our whole bl with a huge zerg.
i hate you dzagonur……
Don’t take it personally, Dzago, that dude even hates GH.
How can this baffle you? You would rather have dzag also mainly focus rof so you can both divide our map? Dzag is doing the logical thing, they focus on the server they are contending with for the number one spot.
You seem to think its logical for them to target the server that is out of contention for the number one spot, but its not.
In the higher tiers, the two stronger sides usually attack the weakest in order to gain property more easily.
Arenanet said,
“They [deliberately] don’t have shadowsteps that will take them away from a fight, in particular”
“Once they get in, they are expected to stay in and to … keep going” (No, not “die” as everybody in the audience was doubtless expecting).
It’s a bubble and it’s probably the same people who are propping up the Heavy Moldy Bag market with >100,000 bids and got out of Ectos before Easter.
Perhaps the RNG needs to be assisted (in certain circumstances) by a dose of certainty.
Example #1: If someone puts 1000 level 80 rare swords into the mystic forge, he gets a precursor anyway, regardless of what the RNG has given him. It gives people a target. There’s no way I’m going to gamble on a 0.001 chance normally, but with the certainty there, I’d grind towards it.
Example #2: Similarly, if someone opens 100 gem box things, they get a ticket regardless of whether they got another ticket earlier.
Is this too much to ask, and if so, why?
I’ll highlight this for people who can’t read:
if the changes were more specifically related to what happens when a ton of players are around each other at the same time [then x]
Conclusion: The devs are certainly talking about doing things to zergs.
Every time I got to loot a wooden chest from a dolyak.. THERE IS NOTHING. It isnt that I have not seen the loot… THERE IS NOTHING, EVER… NOT ONCE HAS THERE BEEN A DROP FOR ME. THIS HAS TO STOP!
Unlucky, mate. I’m racking up the Slabs of Meat from those chests. Gj with the loot, Arenanet! Or is this a bug?
I suspect the usual manipulators have found a more lucrative market and that this is just a reallocation of capital for Easter. When ectos drop to their abitrarily chosen number (probably ending in a 0 or 5), they will pile back in to artificially prop up the market again. Just like the real world market nonsense.

Desirable items cost $$$. That’s fine, but not my bag.
I have had two reports and seen another instance of some people on the “Dzagonur” european server are using some kind of wall-hack to get inside Sunnyhill tower.
For the life of me I don’t understand people who don’t like RNG but still spend money on them.
[..]
Its not like people are saying “I hate the RNG, but I’m going to buy a bunch of keys for no reason”. They do it because they want the skins, and as much as they might hate the RNG, playing the hated RNG and having a chance at skins > having no chance at all.
But Arenanet KNOW the drop rate of the item and could just say “pay this much”. I think the price is so high, they like to disguise it with RNG because people would shy away from paying that price if they knew what it was.
I get the impression that people don’t like this random chance stuff.
And easy solution to this is not to roll the dice.
True that. Vote with your wallets. Let us not give anet any money.
You sir, have a deal!
market is working as it should.
Is it really now?
- Binding Roots
- Stealth
- Portals
That is all.
The zergs are a huge problem which need to be addressed, but they are not “disappointing”.
Ridiculous magical powers make WvW unfun. No matter how well organised, these “tools” combined ruin every defence.
I can only hope that TESO or CU doesn’t have them.
There are no queues on GH. We have a huge numbers of PvE players but not many want to come and get run over by enemy zergs, for some weird reason. I just can’t understand it.
Nice to hear that you guys have finished for the night. We haven’t
[edit] Okay, now we’re done.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
Best:
…
Worst:
Guardians
I’m delighted to hear that FSP got spanked hard. They deserve it more than any other server.
There are no queues on my server Hahaha, I don’t care about your queues!
Around lvl 5-7 on a number of alts (yeah I ain’t gonna stop playing them all just because Anet wants me to)
It’s a broken system anyway. Just got to rename karma farm to Wxp farm and we are good to go.Anet missed an incredible opportunity to reward the guys who defend those camps, buff those yaks, build oil, and all those little things that make those wooden structured turn into actual fortifications.
A million times this…. THIS!
Yep.
Here comes a Pyramid Thread of agreement! I concur with the honourable gentlepersonages above.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
Forget about defending.
Over to you, Arenanet!
9, but our server isn’t running karma trains while others are steamrolling our maps.
Thanks for the tips, I will work on this. Dodge when you hear the portal sound fx.
The biggest zerg is going to be from either FSP or AM, I bet. AM even made a video of their blob. Zulu indeed.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
Nobody cares. And in other news… Zergs still not tackled by devs.
Why was WXP implemented as a character bound grind that fails to reward very important meta-game tasks within WvW, only reinforces the allmighty zerg
The current system really encourages zerging to quickly amass WXP.
On behalf of my fellow server-mates, I want to emphasise that this is very important and deserves developer attention.
Thanks for answering this question. I am saddened by the zerg-encouraging answer (yet again).
- Line of warding.
- Wall of Reflection.
- Staff 11111111 recurring.
But seriously, I went 0,10,10,20,30.
It’s an ok build.

Does nobody else get hit for about 15k damage by mesmers? I usually find I’m okay for most of the fight then suddenly get bursted for nearly all of my HPs.
In most fights I’m panicking because I’ve got about 2k HPs all of the time.
