Charr ate them all. True story.
Okay, okay! I admit it! My people ate them all! We kept saying one more couldn’t hurt, and then they were gone! We’re sorry!
I know what you did the.
Tyler Joe
If you got GWAMM you can display that in GW2. Consider working towards that goal in GW1.
Tyler Joe
Larger dungeons might be included later. Don’t call them raids though – it’s a stupid term. In Guild Wars 1 there were a few maps that required 2 parties to participate. I don’t think this idea would have been scrapped easily – those missions were some of my favourites. I can see something similar being implemented in a later expansion so don’t hold your breath as it might take a while before 10 man dungeons appear.
Tyler Joe
I’ve been avoiding dungeons since release because forming groups is freaking rediculous. I don’t want to play with guilds and I don’t want to work with other players. Dungeons are too hard to solo, so why havn’t they just scaled the spawn in dungeons so that soloing is possible. I feel left out…
You shouldn’t be playing MMO’s then.
Let’s look at the initialise of MMORPG
Massively
Multiplayer
Online
Role-playing
Game
The first three words are Massively Multiplayer Online.
Massively implies big and multi implies many – thereby it means lots and lots of – players. Thereby you are playing the wrong game. You are playing a game that is online with lots and lots of players. If you are going to play a game that advertised lots of online players then you are going to encounter and indeed need to play with other players. Either deal with your fear of other players or go play skyrim. Dungeons are designed to fulfil the multiplayer grouping aspect of what is implied by MMO.
Tyler Joe
Thanks for the reply. I went to check out those statues and yes I read that the female ranger was a hunter. Im leaning more towards charr ranger now!
Pyre Fierceshot. There’s your answer.
Tyler Joe
Cosmetic mounts are entirely pointless. Minipets exist for the exact same reason.
Please stop complaining about people not wanting mounts and please stop making pointless threads about content that will never exist in this game.
Tyler Joe
An Oceanic/Australian server would be fantastic. Other games are including them, even Planetside 2 which is completely free.
Only one Aus or Oceanic server would be necessary at the moment but it would be fantastic. As server pop is going up I ave been suffering lag and some other connection issues that I think might be fixable with a local server.
Tyler Joe
Pirate Shortbow will always be my favourite.
Tyler Joe
Wait for the update in Jan/Feb. late game content incoming.
Tyler Joe
Both of my points still stand. Find a safe place or go offline. Afk in a dangerous area is stupid regardless of situation. You always have enough time to log out.
Tyler Joe
Then log out and return to game after you’re done [cut].

I hate the comparison between Ranger and Hunter. The Ranger is not a WoW hunter! The current design of the Gild Wars 2 ranger resembles a D&D Ranger more closely than it does a kitten Hunter.
Tyler Joe
I suggest finding a safe place and not going afk in stupid places.
Tyler Joe
Only an engineer would mount a HE rocket launcher an inch away from his manhood.
Tyler Joe
Only a Charr Engineer would think of bringing actual pistols to a gunfight.
Tyler Joe
Only an Asura Engineer prerecords rousing speeches to enrage his enemies.
Tyler Joe
Playable Automaton, is that what an oxymoron is?
Charr could make mechs, Asura can make golems, Humans can barely make dolyak paks, Norn can make animal friends, and Sylvari are still ‘finding themselves’.
So your best bet for a playable would be to ask the Charr or Asura. Since we don’t know the tech/mech level of the Tengu, we wont know what they could provide to this conversation.
I would assume the Tengu are a fair way behind the other races, or at least on parr with humans but in a “different” direction. They wouldn’t have mechs. Considering their culture in GW1 I would assume they are a more familial and honour oriented culture and not one that would develop around technology like the Asura magi tech and the charr steampunk (autocorrect corrected steampunk as stew pink).
Tyler Joe
I would suggest a jumping puzzle that randomly changes on a non-static timer. Basically chunks of blocks rearrange themselves based on the timer but clues are provided to indicate the direction in which the character should go or which button/chest should be used to open up the correct pathway.
Tyler Joe
I like to call my sylvan hound Salad Fingers.
Aware
I’ve been waiting for someone like you to show up!.
I switch between Salad Fingers and Salad Shield depending on whether I am just using it to tie up mobs, or if I am using it to do something important.
Tyler Joe
Your alternate view point is ‘no dwarves shouldn’t be playable’ my idea is that they should, I literally cannot compromise or consider that viewpoint because it doesn’t compute with my own in any way.
I am backing up my opinion with many different points whilst you are only focusing on one point and implying that this one reason is why they shouldn’t be made a playable race. This type of narrow-minded arguing is coming from you, not me.
And what’s this about Florida? I’m from the United Kingdom. We have a TARDIS.
Then Your point of view is entirely redundant. You can hold to it, but it is pointless and stupid. Lore-wise dwarves make no sense as a playable race and ANet don’t have a tendency of mutilating lore in order to appease players. They’re not the evil that is Matt Ward and the smurfs, space vampires, and Kaldor Drago the most awesome of awesome (I am aware that this is a reference few of you will get. Deal with it)
There is a difference between narrow mindedness and an understanding of fact/truth. If something is true then it cannot be untrue. Dwarves are not nor ever will they be a suitable playable race in the Guild Wars universe. Aside from this they are far too common a race – almost any other fantasy setting MMO has a Dwarf playable race. Arena Net have their own plans – they have their own world with their own design of races. I believe there is a reason they were turned to stone at the end of EotN and it wasn’t just for the lore. I think it is the developers way of saying “no – we’ll do our own thing.”
I think that your argument is not one of open-mindedness but extreme close mindedness. It seems to me that you cannot fathom a fantasy world without Tolkien elements to it – something that Dwarves are.

Professions:
-dark warrior
-gladiator
-templar
-mage
-warlock
-priest
…
Let us deal with your professions on a deeper scale to show you how pointless and stupid they are.
Dark Warrior- pretty much a darker version of the warrior. This profession is pointless – play a warrior with dark/evil armour and facial scars and call yourself a “dark warrior”.
Gladiator – has a very specific connotation that doesn’t work in GW2 universe. Refers to gladiatorial pits and fighting for money. Any of the other professions could translate to this. A Gladitorial Elementalist could very easily exist in the world. Thereby this class suggestion is pointless
Templar – play a Guardian. They imply almost. Same thing.
Mage – too generic. Elementalist deals with elemental magic (duh), Mesmer with mind magic, necromancer with ritualistic magic. What would a Mage be? Too generic a profession.
Warlock – possible suggestion if we are considering D&D warlocks. Consider a Mage that handles specifically primal/nature magic. This might, however, be fulfilled by a ranger.
Priest -" New Profession with new profession mechanic! Use incense! The priest comes with the incense mechanic – you may calm or slow enemies or even cause damage by using different incenses. Weapons are Staff, Wand, Torch and Focus." Pointless profession idea. Holy warrior is fulfilled by guardian.
My suggestion for a profession would be the Warden
Weapons
Two handed
Hammer – offensive high damage small AOE but slow hitting weapon.
Greatsword – defensive weapon with most skills being in the 600 range. Use deflection and other defensive skills.
Staff – used to summon short term animal spirit minions. Number 1 attack is 1000 ranged
Main hand
Axe – fast attack close range weapon focussing on condition damage. Conditions based weapon relying on bleed, poison, and a defensive deflection/cripple skill.
Mace – 900/600 ranged interrupt weapon – uses confusion on a few skills.
Offhand
Axe – combat weapon – another offensive weapon based around complimenting main-hand axe – more conditions
Dagger – ranged throwing weapon mostly denial skills.
Torch – MOAR FIAR DAMAGE!!! AoE attacks
Underwater
Spear gun – 1200 ranged high damage sniper
Trident – summons underwater animal spirits. Essentially an underwater staff.
Profession specific mechanic.
Animal rage – for a short time the Warden can change his/her mode to be like that of a primal spirit. All can be traited to get rid of negative effects and to increase the positive effects and they effect staff/trident summoned spirits.
F1 – ferocious tiger/lion – increases attack speeds and weapon cooldown for 10 seconds though decreases toughness
F2 – primal bear – gains increased toughness and attack though decreases attack speed for 10 seconds
F3 – angry devourer – attacks cause cripple, bleeding and poison for 5 seconds. Decreases movement speed by 10%
F4 – dog/wolf howl – cause fear (1s) on attacks for 5 seconds and increases movement speed – conditions last longer on you
I might work out traits laters. At the moment I need sleeps.
Tyler Joe
WTF!!!!!!!!!!
Why you keep saying this is not world of warcraft.
I’m just saying races and classes from world of warcraft.
Because you people don’t know others.
Likek mounts, you alwayse said this isn’t world of warcraft.
Why just world of warcraft.
Tera got them, rift got them, lotro got them, and allot more.
What purpose would mounts fulfil in GW2? Absolutely none due to across the board fast travel.
Tyler Joe
Give me my quaggas! Otherwise a Mr Sparkles plush.
Tyler Joe
I would love to see a crossbow but I do not see the cross ow as a ranger weapon. I would argue first being engi, thief, warrior. Ranger needs more combat options – not ranged.
Tyler Joe
I hope they never makes dwarves a playable race. You can explore their lore and story through the other races but considering established lore on their current fate…no never have them as a playable race.
You must consider the other races and how they function compared to the dwarves. Every other race is established economically, has major cities, are actually living and can reproduce, and their entire lives are not focused entirely on halting the progress of the dragons and the destroyers. Races that have potential as a playable race are the Ursan and the Tengu as they have the potential to become as economically and culturally stable as the other 5 playable races.
Tyler Joe
A unicorn.
This unique pet, one of a kind, would be able to hit moving players.
When put in passive mode in situations where pets are not viable such as large group wvw, tower siege/defense or 5 man dungeons (read: endgame), the pet provides a passive Bonus Effect to offset the loss of its DPS.
I’d also like to have a Dev as a pet, so that if my unicorn gets 1 shot by some mob or aoe before I put it on passive, I can swap to the Dev and show him what that feels like.
John Green disapproves of unicorns…as do I.
How about bats though?
Tyler Joe
I sometimes call my sylvan hound “Salad Shield”
Tyler Joe
I hope they never include a whip as a weapon in this game. A whip isn’t a weapon and including it would make BDSM players too happy…and a two handed whip…seriously? Have you ever used a whip? Two handed just wouldn’t work…
A morning star/flail and two-handed flail would be a great addition to the soldier classes though and a two-handed axe and a halberd would be excellent additions too. Crossbow too.
Tyler Joe
This thread exists elsewhere. Look it up please.
Tyler Joe
I would suggest that the scythe wouldn’t really fit into the game at the moment. It is too peculiar a weapon, and technically a battle axe would do its job much better. As such I would suggest instead two handed axe but with a scythe-like skin for it.
Class wise battle axe would fit Warrior, Ranger, and maybe the Necromancer or Elementalist (consider it as the Elementalist weapon for “i have a bigger stick then you do”) and if ANet felt like it the Engineer might fit as well (I see axes as a tool, not so much a weapon – it fits both as an Engineer style weapon).
Tyler Joe
Could be added new race or profession.
Races: I have allot of ideas but this won’t look nice in gw2 like a: charr, pandas or
troll,asura.
-something like dark,zombie,death
-dwarfProfessions:
-dark warrior
-gladiator
-templar
-mage
-warlock
-priest…of professions in gw2 i don’t like elementalist could be something more like mage,
could be 1 more healer, assassin, something like necromancer (dark power)…
I have to be honest. All of these suggestions are pure crap.
First – they go against the principle of GW2 profession and race mechanics, and they are generic and have been done to bits.
Second – no healers please. Wanting a healer completely destroys GW2 and ANets gameplay model.
Third – thief is a rework of the GW1 assassin. I would rather not have classes that are exactly the same as each other, which an assassin would be. T would be another class relying on stealth and backstab and burst power. Play thief and give him an assassin name if you want an assassin.
Fourth – almost all of your suggestions are basically “lets take is class and make it evil/dark!” or “Gooder” I hate that idea with a passion and i assure you that most of the rest of the player base does too.
Fifth – if ANet adds more races they will already have them designed. Tengu or Kodan are the most likely candidates at the moment and I think they would fit seamlessly into the game as new races. Dwarves are plainly stupid if you understand GW2 lore and if ANet added new races it wouldn’t be because their players were nerdgasming over pandas or undead.
Sixth – keep WoW out of my game!

Well I wanted to get reduced costs as I see the way of making money, if sure it will not be nerfed more and more.
I’m ok to give me more fun too, so please add content. =D
And if we don’t need to buy remote bank access, then please add more banks (at least one per zone).
So far I dislike idea that I’m pushed to item shop (all posts about GW2 before release denied need to pay for play), but seems from the start till now money making became less easy and costs still same.
I need clear answer if this is simply buy to win game or something more (which I miss to see).
And it essential IMO to look at costs for WP, repair and TP.
You’re doing it wrong.
Tyler Joe
I like the idea where the individual teams would split up, just like the normal dungeons, then meet for a final boss. I would only imagine the final boss would be a lot like the dragon fights in the open world, only less health. Its a good idea in the making.
This could work. 10 or 15 man teams split into 2 or 3 pathways – some with “puzzles” that might make it easier/faster or even harder for another of the groups to finish the dungeon if it is incorrectly completed. Breaking holes in walls or things like that.
I could see it happening.
Tyler Joe
I wouldn’t call the Kodan exactly humanoid.
Tyler Joe
Why was that changed?
Because nobody used them, I presume.
Yes, basically they were terrible in GW1 and iirc only gimmick builds like bunny thumper/pack hunter actually used them.
They weren’t terrible if you used them right. I never went without one on my Ranger and did quite well in PvE and PvP.
Tyler Joe
Okay now I don’t mean to sound condescending or like a troll, but this is an inherently stupid idea. Part of the reason for having different armour for different classes is to help players distinguish what/who they are fighting from a distance without having to click on their names and look at the symbol adjacent to their up bar.
This is something that will never be implemented for that reason, and also perhaps an entire cohort of others.
So you look at peoples armor to know what or who they are fighting? That alone sounds weird. By people’s armor you don’t know their profession as more professions use the same type of armor besides player’s are clickable for a reason.
There are inherent play styles related to armour. Medium armour indicates they will probably be dodging more, light indicates they will use buffs more to keep alive as well as maintain manoeuvrability, heavy armour indicates they will not give a crap that you are hitting them. Besides the armour type there are other cues to indicate what someone’s class is that go with it. Currently only Ranger can use two axes as a medium armour class – we don’t want warriors running around in medium armour with two axes – two completely different play styles that smart players could use to exploit. Guild Wars 2 multiplayer is designed to be quick paced and the different armour types facilitates that in PvP. It allows you to keep an eye on players due to their armour types. Clicking on every enemy to see what they are is just clumsy and more capable PvP players learn to tell from armour types.
Tyler Joe
Our staff does have the second longest range in the game (after Longbow traited for range increase), though. It says 1200, but in actuality it’s about 1420 on the auto-attack plus the mark radius can go beyond that 1200 nicely.
If I saw you extended the range out for staff 1 necro past 1200 I would report you for exploiting. The range is 1200.
With the added on AOE range of the 2-5 attacks the ranges exceeds 1200. It goes to about 1420. The auto attack does not exceed 1200 though.
Tyler Joe
I don’t have a problem with the current trait system necessarily. I understand where you are coming from but at the same time I would rather not change it. This is because I understand trait changing is designed as a money sink. There need to be many forms of this in a game to make it have an effective economy, otherwise the money keeps piling up pointlessly. Having trait changeable due to a small fee means players need to think a little In Advance about whether they are willing to keep a specific build for a longer period of time, or if they intend to change it again immediately after. For these reasons I would rather keep the system as is. Besides, the fee is very small anyway and not particularly consequential even at higher levels.

I think axe makes sense for the Engineer as well as the mace. Either way a new weapon for any race probably won’t be integrated until a full expansion is released, unless the massive update that is coming up has one planned, but I doubt that will happen considering the youth of Guild Wars 2.
Tyler Joe
First I would love to see a lot of the creatures from Guild Wars 1 implemented into the game. After that though.
Vulture
More dog variants
Ocelot
Lemur
Primates – I thought primates could have a skill similar to steal
Sylvan Moa/more Sylvan pets
An Asuran breed of dog
Rats/possums
Tyler Joe
Minions have their uses but Necromancer was not designed as a pet class. Minions are just a nod to GW1 but are tooled to make up for poor direct damage in PvE. Use them for farming and to aid mobility (through sacrifice.)
Why even name it “Necromancer” then ? What is the point ? They could have came up with other, better names, for the class.
The traditional necromancer in other games is very different from what necromantic arts historically concerned. Same with a Ranger which was based on Aragorn and the LotR Rangers rather than the typical “we use a Howard shoot you” Rangers of other games.
Arena Net are attempting their own takes at classes rather than using predefined ones from other games. They have multiple sources and what they seem to be doing with the stereotyped classes is looking ack at the traditional pre MMO classes as well as considering modern MMO/RPG classes.
Tyler Joe
Mursaat will always be villains. I couldn’t fathom them being good guys, and how exactly would you personalise them – there’s not much variety in their facial features or their height.
Tyler Joe
There have to be multiple money sinks in a game to help maintain the economy. Map travel and armour repair costs are sinks to prevent a huge buildup of money – it also adds a consequence to death that would otherwise not exist.
Tyler Joe
I’m not surprised, and I can see why a Sylvari would be more acceptable than a Human to a Charr. XD
“Who’s a pretty kitty?!”
“I..am.”
Wow, scariest interspecies flirting ever. lol
“I like it when you get all snow leopard on me.”
Tyler Joe
Hi, so I just started Guild War 2. And I made a ranger acc. I started out with axe/hatchet and was wondering if I would receive a bow through quest or if I would need to buy one? I’m only lvl 3 right now ><
You will probably find one through combat. You can buy one from some merchants if you want, and yes you so eventually get some weapons from the personal story, though I am unsure if it is a bow as a ranger.
Tyler Joe
This was implemented into Guild Wars 1. The problem with this is it makes the game impossible to balance and also gets rid or unique components of each profession. In Guild Wars 1 for instance it was not uncommon to find teleporting Monk/Assassins or Monk/Warriors who used stances to stay alive. Any profession could take pets (eliminating one of the Ranger unique components), and in the end it didn’t really matter what profession you chose at the start as you could generally have access to any other profession’s unique abilities.
I would rather like to see more weapon skills implemented. Consider having 2 sets of weapons skills for each weapon set (though making you only able to choose which one you employed before combat). For instance they could add a set of combat skills for the Ranger axes, or an alternative Engineer rifle build for 1200+ ranges, or even a closer ranged combo for pistol/pistol or pistol/shield. I would argue that the Elementalist probably shouldn’t have this, but it would work for any other class.
EDIT I am aware that this has been suggested before.
Tyler Joe
