I always prep for my next fight before the end of theirs. I revive them when they die and Queue up for my fight. If in the case of death, I typically expect to have them show the same courtesy. If not, well, I’m a bit more hesitant to revive them again.
I don’t mind taking turns or waiting a bit. Regardless if its a farmer or not.
If you are not a farmer, try to understand that there are 5 other arenas to play in and let the farmer do his thing in peace. If everything is full, then generally find an arena with people who aren’t trying to farm. This is what I did when going for Liadri achievements, and there was no problem with it. People who aren’t farming will tend to be more helpful with tips and such to beat bosses anyway. Farmers usually just like to do their thing in silence.
Yes, but say for the Liadri achievement, each arena has a different’ pattern to it. If I’ve been practicing for the past few days on the NE arena and some farmer tells me to move along, how is it fair I should be punished? I need that arena just as much as he. If not more, as mine is specific to my style. It’s not always the non-farmers that should move.
However, not all the farmers are indeed jerks, but its not a very high number that show such civility.
The arena has issues with bundles inside. It seems Engi’s are affected because of such. Likely to stop some cheap tactics inside the arena from unfair play. It kinda sucks but I doubt it will be fixed until after the events.
Given that the portal devices and various pve items are bundles, i can say you are SoL.
I had a guy actually say to me yesterday that the arena he was at was full and for me to go away. I made sure to stay around, get into a match, and fight for as long as possible. He left not too long after that.
Well, I for one find it somewhat rude to hijack someone else’s farming arena. Polite people find their own arenas where they don’t disturb anyone.
Certain arena’s have certain patterns especially in the case of the Liadri fight. Who’s to say it’s your arena? Or are you one of those ‘first come, first serve’ people? Given there’s only a limited number of arenas, if there were more people like you, no one would get to fight.

Queen’s Gauntlet…totally bringing out the best qualities in the GW2 community.
It’s probably inevitable. When it started out people were much nicer and more polite. But when you design the game in such a way that helping others hinders your own goals, it’s hardly surprising that people don’t cooperate.
This seems to be the case mostly for the farmers and exploiter’s. The rest of the community seems nice enough overall even with a few bad apples.
Unless they changed something in the recent patch clones do physical damage and are both blockable and survivable through endure pain. If you’re having issues it’s most likely lag, EP/block running out, mistiming it or a combination of those factors.
Then they must have changed something. Endure Pain will not protect you from the clones. Only the AoE’s and Liadri’s attacks. Even though it will show a damage indicator upon hit, it isn’t recorded on the combat log and is always either 100% of your health or 1HP left on the rare case of being full.
I have activated it immediately and rushed a clone. I’ve done enough testing to know its useless against them. Blocks work, invulns work and so do evades.
I’ll get it down eventually I suppose, but its a bit of an unfair advantage for some classes.
I have Healing Signet, with Runes of Holebrak (not the best choice, but meh) and I have the Sigil of Generosity to deal with my remaining condition woes most of the time, whilst adding punishment to those who put it on me. (Fun for bosses that put long kitten conditions on you, put it back on them! =3)
I never really had a problem with conditions in pve or WvW too often. PvP on the other hand, heh, not my forte for asking about condition removal.
I have yet to hear anyone else left with low health unless they rallied. I can try today with Rampage and see whether health makes any difference.
I’m not entirely sure but I think you can block or use invulnerability against Diversion from Mesmer so it’s not a new mechanic. But as expected, Endure Pain won’t work.
I have never encountered a situation where direct damage wouldn’t show up on combat log.
Well, when they hit you, they bring you down to typically 1 HP. Just played another match and was brought down to 500 (although my regen might have bumped it up that high just at the moment.) But the additional oddity is that when they explode and DON’T kill you, they will launch you. Which pretty much kills you anyway.
You may be right with it being a supposed insta-downer but I just don’t understand how one can survive it on the off chance and it not affecting other skills that negate damage of any sort.
Sadly, I would gladly use another class to fight her, if I could. But my warrior is my only 80. I hear thieves, guardians and mesmers have an easier time.
Your build so far has worked the best so far during her encounters, which I am quite thankful for. But its this little issue that nails me every time. =/
Clones don’t deal damage, they down you. Endure Pain just prevents damage.
If you have tagged clones before they kill you, you will rally immediately (may need 2 or more clones, haven’t tested).
How is it possible to be left at 1 HP when one hits you on a rare occasion? Invulnerabilities still work and so do blocks. Unlike say the Jade Maw’s final attack in fractals, they do some sort of damage. As even those wouldn’t work if that was the case.
And yes, tagging them or them exploding when your still ‘invulnerable’ for that brief second of going down will also rally you.
They may not appear on the combat log, but I’m sure they do damage.
Here’s a curious thought, what happens after the Gauntlet is removed? Do you just fall down to the pit and die or do you randomly get teleported to LA or DR? ;p
Or… Maybe you find the hidden entrance even after the patch to get back in eh?
Sneaky, Sneaky~
Kite them a bit away from it then just dodge trough them, pickup it up and throw. The throw animation is really fast so you have time to run way or dodge again.
Phase 1 for this is easy enough, but when you have Liadra guarded by her clones in phase 2, it can be a bit hard to get around this. Endure pain SHOULD work. Why it doesn’t is beyond me.
Picking up the crystals isn’t the issue. And I don’t think the animation for the picking up or throwing is all that fast. especially is terrible rooting habits.
Harass enemies with a ranged weapon if they are out of hammer range. Staying in combat keeps your adrenaline up even if slowly with Signet of Rage.
The rest is merely getting as many hits as possible to keep it full.
If you are a Signet warrior, the Fury one will give you a full bar immediately upon activation.
There’s a number of ways to get it up quick, but lack of combat will always cause it to empty quickly.
The more pro warriors here could likely enlighten you a bit more.
Weird, that some report successes and failures with Endure Pain on the clones. Dodging works for sure. Not having had problems with that. Any type of evade still works on them.
For me I wasted a few tickets to confirm things, which was indeed weird why the AoEs didn’t down me but the clones did.
@Elidath.5679 – I’ve gotten the 1 hp thing before without Endure pain, random sometimes or just being at full health I guess.
I figured Invuls work since invulnerability is 100x better than Endure Pain. But our class doesn’t have access to invulnerability so, its not really an option for warriors. However, I haven’t tried blocking yet, simply because Dunwell’s killshot via shield blocking/reflecting failed rather horribly, so I didn’t bother.
So, upon fighting Liadra with one fo the new builds I’m tryign out that seems to be semi successful, i noticed a few things. Endure Pain doesn’t work on the clones, but it does for the AoEs. So my question is, what sort of damage do the clones do that bypass the ‘you take no damage’ skills?
The only thing i could figure is they are an absurd condition applyer that instantly downs you, but I have no other supporting evidence.
Otherwise, I don’t see why it doesn’t affect the clones. A few times this has caused me to go down when I figured I was invulnerable. Not sure if this was a bug or an intentional bypass. Either way it kinda blows. If it is condition damage, at least I can still use a skill to negate it.
Congrats on the win. I’m close to getting her as well, just got to get the right groove going.
A bit disappointed that my original build was able to beat all the previous contenders except her. Would have been much more proud if I could have done the same. Even if the boss is suitable for all classes, its not suitable for all playstyles, which is half the problem people face I think. besides some of the obvious flaws.
It is rather convenient indeed. Even though it seems the [Disasembler 3BEK Kit] is better imo. 250 uses, and was obtained for trading junk back during the karka event.
A shame it wasn’t just no cost, but still frees up a ton of space in my inventory rather than 25 kits taking everything up.
I used to have both Fast Hands and Versatile Rage in my build before the Heightened Focus nerf. Complimented my playstyle quite well with Adrenal health and swapping between my ranged and melee on a dime.
I personally prefer having Fast Hands due to the broader skill range available, but they were pretty beast together. A shame I had to change my build in order to make it effective. So, no more Fast Hands. Feels crippling sometimes as I still instinctively think I can swap faster than I’m able.
and if you think that liadri does not require you to have the favor of the RNG gods then you just simply got lucky and don’t know it.
So those of us can that consistently beat it now, we’re….magically delicious or something?
I want your lucky charms. ;p
It seems to be more related to weapon/skillset more than anything overall. If you aren’t using a certain set, you are typically boned by some of the RNG flaws in the dome. Such as using projectile weapons against orbs.
If you’re not paying attention to your surroundings, you won’t see the orb’s spawn tells. So then, if you leave them along long enough, they pull you. It’s a pretty simple concept.
It’s not luck to kill the orbs, it’s skill.
An orb can spawn right in front of me and for about 5 seconds all I see is ‘obstructed’ whilst it pulls me. Tell me again how its skill.
lol the only RNG I seemed to have encountered was whether or not my rifle shots would get ‘obstructed’ for shooting the orbs or not.
Well if you are simply trying to beat them, focus on the dog first. He can’t get to the meat if he’s dead. Knockback, stuns and such do work well against him long enough to scoop meat out from under him.
I beat him as a Rifle and Sword/Shield signet warrior, so it is indeed possible. If you are worried about being pulled when grabbing meat, activate stability.
If you are going for the achievement for denying all meat, well, I can’t really help you there.
A couple of things:
Not sure if you know this, but you can rally off of orbs so if you get pulled try to target the orb as quickly as possible. There is some food that gives you increased endurance regeneration if you’re finding that you run out of dodges.
If possible I think it would greatly help if you took out one signet for Endure Pain as it could help you survive the aoe if you don’t think you can get out of it.
The aoe in phase 2 rotates in an hourglass fashion. A safe zone from one barrage will turn into a kill zone in the next. Try to always keep moving in a circle and gunning with your rifle.
And finally keep trying, but if you find yourself getting really frustrated take a short break as it will make it easier to concentrate when you try again.
I knew about the orbs being able to be rallied off of, but the kitten things are 90% of the time obstructed. Which at times is enough to get me killed. But I do aim for them immediately when downed.
I never thought to try Endure Pain simply because it wasn’t practical in the other sections with the one shots that were unblockable and so on. I’ll try it. Would buy me alot more time. I can handle losing one signet.
Aye, I noticed the hourglass in phase 2 from spectating, but a little harder to navigate once inside for sure. XD That part will likely take some practice.
As for the food, was using the Orrian beef stew that grants 40% dodge regen, but I’m rather convinced it doesn’t stack with my endurance signet. =/ (Which I might just swap for ED if so.)
EDIT; Ah, so it was indeed a waste, thanks Waar!
Thanks for the couple of tips though, will likely try them out to see if it ups effectiveness!
Personally just a shimmering spell effect would have worked imo as a domed view. Even if its similar to the mesmer dome or guardian dome.
Then the explanation of why attacks or spells can’t go through is simple. Magic.
I hope so. I have over 100 of them with a character that I am still leveling, and she is not going to use them simply because I won’t be able to get her ready to get in the Gauntlet in time. If only they were acc. bound instead of soulbound…
I just hope that ANet won’t simply come up with a different ticket next time.
They’ve confirmed that the Gauntlet will be returning. I don’t have the link on hand atm, but they noted that those tickets won’t be a one time thing. So don’t worry, missing this round won’t mean its gone forever. Just might have to wait next year like the other seasonal events. (ie; Winters Day, Mad Kings Day, Dragon Bash, etc.)
Only difference is, this is a recurring event. So, they will be usable in the future. Unlike the LS arc that only will happen once.
So, I’ve managed to so far beat every other challenge except for Liadra at this point with my single warrior.
I’m using a sort of hybrid build, so its a tad unorthodox compared to most warriors. Rifle and Sword/Shield, 5 signets; should give you an idea just how off it is.
Anyways, onto the problem at hand;
I can’t seem to handle her effectively. If I’m not sucked in at the first 5 seconds to be downed without stability being pumped off the bat.
I managed to get a tip on how to eliminate that blinding and inhibiting light she does (who’s great idea was that in an already poorly colored dome, bad camera controls with 1 shot kill mechanics?)
But when it comes to phase 2, I begin to fall flat. Kiting the shadow clones to the circles is easy enough to get her vulnerable if the first portions go well.
But taking her down personally during the phase with the clones in the way is a bit of a hassle. Combined with the other elements to take care for.
Any tips on warriors being a bit more effective in these parts?
Foods?
Tactics?
Graphical tricks?
I don’t have any problem taking any of her attacks due to my regen. Just those 1 shots.
Only thing that seems to be my bane is the inconsistent ability of destroying the orbs, which easily break things.
I beat her as a Signet warrior, using rifle and sword/shield.
You have to be aggressive with her, as if you interrupt her attacks she can’t spam tornados as much. Granted she is rather difficult without a ton of stability, but doable.
If you harass her enough it should be effective. Keep in mind, even if you have stability, the wind gusts do significant amount of damage on their own, so its best to cut the head off before it gets overwhelming. It only gets harder if dragged on.
Even though getting into the Gauntlet is quite the headache, I’ve found the champions scattered about the world are…
Well, probably the best thing I’ve seen to date. Take the Champion of the Stony Fields.
Fighting this guy was quite the blast! He wasn’t too difficult, but he was dynamic and fun to fight against and watch his moves.
It honestly makes me wish the AI were scaled up alot more in such a way.
I can only imagine what the others are like and I do hope to see more of this in the future. It’s quite the fresh breath of air.
For the challenge mostly. They were all too easy even when they spammed their abilities, in fact, some were detrimental to their success when coupled with the right counter Move.
besides, I think charrs spamming ‘woohoo’ would be a bit awkward for anyone around them. ;p
The only reason I’d agree on the Engi being Heavy is due to the complete lack of Condition effective professions in the Heavy tier atm. Does it need to be Engi? No, but if it had to be one of the current, Engi would fit best before another would take its place.
The damage reduction coming from armor is a bit moot and minimal from medium to heavy. (I think the difference between light and heavy is only 15% if I recall.)
Aesthetically however, both armor types fit the role so I see no reason for there to be a switch in that regard.
As for tools and weapon additions, too much of a problem. Unless they were entirely reworked. Which is too much effort and would cause alot of needless rage for a class that (in my opinion) is pretty fine to begin with.
Some nice ideas, but not something I think the game truly needs at this point.
Yeah, I’m about sore as most are about the loss by Evon (though really, he didn’t have much going for him to succeed in the first place), however, despite him no longer being a fit member for the council perhaps there could still be a way for those who liked him to support him even after?
Personally in my opinion, I wouldn’t mind having something that would cause that little Evon picture to be perm. Would be a nice little present for those that had the votes come so close, even if its buyable.
If not, well, I’ll be farming enough support tickets to cash in so I can still show that only a Charr should have replaced a Charr~! Or at the very least show that we still think our big guy in BLTC is a winner even if not in this case.
Alright.
But it says they are unparallelled archers right on the main professions page!
It also says warriors are the masters of weaponry. Guess what that includes? Stop using flavor text as your only defense. Especially when its the only source.
GW1 were purely based on archery with pets as a side, why do they suck here?!
Allow me to direct you to here; http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ranger that and more specifically to this section.
Trivia
At one point in development, according to The Making of Guild Wars 2 book, the ranger profession of the original Guild Wars was split into many different professions, notably the warden and the marksman. Eventually, with only marksman remaining, who only possessed only the aspect of ranged weaponry, was combined with already scrapped elements of warden and beastmaster, [u]and renamed the result as ranger for the sake of the original series.[/u]
The Ranger had many concepts in its design and the games don’t always reflect properly to the origins. In GW1 the name was simply to reflect lore. Otherwise it would have been properly renamed to Marksmen if it were always mean to be ranged.
Well Ranger obviously has the word Range in it, so obviously its meant…
That’s not where it’s origins come from. I do suggest a bit of research before assuming such things.
Guild Wars 2 advertised the Ranger as an unmatched ranged character with the pet! They lied to me!
Are you one of those people that believes every TV trailer they see to the core? If so, you must be highly disappointed in alot of what you watch. Just because something is advertised one way, doesn’t mean its carved into stone thakittens the only way it is.
I don’t care, I want to use a bow! I don’t want to use any of those other weapons!
Then do so.
No one is stopping you. Just keep in mind not every weapon is created equal. If your counter argument is “well they suck”, well, deal with it. Lots of weapons suck for different classes. Either adapt or change just like everyone else.
The whole argument used to define a class against is merely a bit of flavor text on the professions page?
Boy, this is like the whole RAW vs RAI battle in D&D all over again.
Keep in mind, this “unparallelled” stuff is only on that front page professions of the site. Even the wiki description of the profession doesn’t say they are, even noting their combo with the sword.
So a bow ranger has to use a greatsword to damage an opponent running away?
Do you even thing before you post, just how stupid that makes your argument sound? Your longest range attack is a freaking sword! And after that you can’t cripple to maintain the attack.
If you can’t see the problem they you don’t understand much and shouldn’t be in this thread.
The Ranger isn’t the only one who has to use gap closers to deal with such a problem. And if you can’t use a gap closer to close in and catch your prey, then they were too far for your extended shortbow to do anything anyways.
The only thing that changed regarding my build was the loss of HF with it being put into grandmaster. (I assume without it, getting close to a 100% crit chance is pretty low now eh?)
For the time being supplemented it with Empower Allies to make up for the damage. Which wasn’t a terrible trade off, could have been worse. Just disappointed I was forced to.
PvP wise, I’m farthest thing from an expert. But my style of play hasn’t hampered me any more than it did at least. So, I got nothing too big to gripe about regarding the changes to the warrior specifically.
“Unparalleled archers” and “capable of bringing down foes from a distance with their bows.” I assume “bows” shouldn’t limit to just long bows, correct?
Unless melee weapons suddenly increased to a range of 900, I think the term ‘ranged’ still applies even with the shortbow.
It’s clear people preferred the shortbow because of its damage plus its range previously before the patch. I doubt anyone glanced at the longbow given such unless they simply did so for style.
This change simply ties into what they planned on. Build diversity, and this just so happened to include weapons.
As for unparallelled, i’m sure a warrior and ranger fight using only bows the ranger would more likely win out. Even with the shortbows lessened range. Haven’t really tried it. It not once says they are the ‘masters of ranged attacks’ just skilled with bows.
Being a 5 signet warrior (yeah yeah, have your giggles), I found this to be rather odd as well. Especially in the notes it said it would ‘scale with level’ and yet I seem to have found a decrease. Which means either they nerfed the cap (oh joy…) or its bugged. Not to happy in either case.
Still put out some decent crit chances, but its a little discouraging.
Simple fix:
-Burst skills missing now depletes adrenaline (both for this trait and for some more meaningful bursting timing)This would be a tremendous nerf to any build not running Cleansing Ire… and you are here flaming the devs for being short sighted…
You miss the burst, you’re punished for using at wrong time.
I’m surprised it isn’t already this way. Oh, forgot the dumbing down Anet policy.
Lose adrenaline if blocked.
Lose full effect of adrenaline if interrupted in mid cast in most cases.
Forced into cooldown if you’re blinded, dodged, invul, feared, obstructed, interrupted, not close enough as well as the wasted effects above also trigger the CD.
So, how again are warriors not already getting punished for the many ways to prevent warriors for using the ability? Right, remove the ability to recover quickly from any of those period. Let’s just empty it. It’s not like there’s other traits based on adrenaline either or damage is needed. All they need is cleansing ire.
I’m quite surprised those tools weren’t account bound to begin with. As this does cause a bit of issue in that regard for those that decide to switch toons.
Made this in my spare time this morning over coffee.
I think you used that meme improperly…
It does seem a tad counter productive that they made blind stronger to counter their new ‘feature’ to ‘help’ warriors even more so than before. It wasn’t so bad when it was ONLY burst to do damage, but now some rely on it for that removal.
It grants 150. The icon when hovered over only notes 70 though. Simply a tooltip error.
Well, it might be referring to the ‘conditions’ that aren’t really conditions, but act like such. Take agony for instance. I don’t think the stance would affect that. Given its ‘modified’ in a way it can’t be cleansed. Just my shot in the dark.
Perhaps you’re right in it being a bug. But I don’t think many warriors are complaining at the moment. Anything to deal with some of the blind spam and such going on.
I’m a bit torn with the changes to be honest. Being a primary Rifle user and Sword&Shield as my secondary. I personally enjoyed having the second on-demand cripple on #3 especially in WvW, Hamstring was quick and often masked as an autoattack before hitting the final chain. This usually made most of my prey incapable of escaping as my Flurry would immobilize, Hamstring would cripple and Savage Leap would gap close if they managed to get away from either.
Unfortunately, with Hamstring being on autoattack chain, this limits it a bit. Given thakittens not an on-demand cripple anymore and if you don’t pull off all 3 hits on an auto, it never executes (and autos reset fairly quickly too). Having cripple on Savage leap isn’t all that beneficial since it rarely meets the distance I need it for and its not that great when its close range already. I don’t mind the extra damage on Final Thrust, its a nice addition, but I’d take cripple over the extra damage it had. Better circumstantial skill of use. I got other weapons if I want to focus on raw power. This is not taking into account its lackluster speed and terrible animation. (It doesn’t even have the same effect as it did when it was on the auto chain)

Put a few spaces in the URL, such as www.b lah blah more text here . com. That should make it non-clickable since the text won’t be continuous.
Or even better, BBCode. =3 Thanks for the tip though. Hopefully it gets contained or at least give reason for ANet to up security measures a bit more.

Okay, so like a complete moron I actually fell for this.
What do I do now?
I just changed my password. Should I do anything else.
Have your GW2 key handy, as this is the only proof to verify you are the owner of your account of the game. This is one of the prereqs Support asks for in recovery if it ever gets to such a point.
Also, do a cookie and virus sweep, who knows if its got any other bad things in there like loggers.
Talon Blaze and EternalFlamez, please make those non-clickable links just in case someone opens it and for whatever reason inputs their credentials.
It’s never a good idea to put clickable links in official forms that point to password phishing sites.
Call me a noob, but how do I make them unclickable on these forums?

Just made a post regarding this; https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/PSA-Scam-Emails
It’s fake.

I recently recieved an email claiming to be from ANet about my account being under investigation for trying to sell it. If you look at the attached picture, it is actually quite convincing if you look at the information and the format it’s laid out. Unlike most scam emails, this one is a bit more discreet.
However, one can easily tell it’s a true fake since the url changes to;
{REDACTED}
Notice that lovely added url extension? It’s subtle but there and everything else looks just like site login.
If there is anything that can be done about this, please do so. I do fear many could easily fall victim to this kind of scam easily if they do not pay attention.

If you want them to remain in your pack and not depositing into your collectables every time you hit the ‘quick deposit’ button, I suggest investing in an invisible or safe box to prevent them from moving.
