Nice idea, I like it. Would be pretty cool to have WvW emblems for armor and gear as well to show these ranks, much like how Guild Armor shows guild stuff. That way your rank can be seen than more than just via the names. Like the good ole war days~

Also, those symbols you created are pretty sweet looking.

Dueling is fun

Talonblaze.3175

I have nothing against dueling, but only if the challenging option was OFF by default. I’m rather sick of games that have such unrestricted and all I get is duel requests while I’m trying to do pve or character maintenance.

That way, only dueler’s will enable such an option and no one else will be inconvenienced. Trying to take it a step further would only have someone file a harassment report.

Granted as mentioned above, its likely not a top priority at all since WvW and PvP kinda already supply for any dueling needs.

When it comes to EB and the homelands, I consider anything fair game. But for JPs, I dunno I find its more of a morality thing.
They don’t really gain any benefit for their server for doing the JPs, plus a few spots on them are a pain in the butt without attackers to begin with, for that I usually sympathize.

When I first went there, I was attacked. Made me very cautious and aggressive to a few that got close after that. After a while, I got a bit more lax. I still keep my eye out for any potential aggressors, but its usually easy to tell those who want to kill and those just wanting to tag it off.

Gotta say though, it’s pretty satisfying killing attackers who fail to gank you. Lovely retribution.

Yes and yes. They are not the same sigil, therefor they will work also as an added bonus their cooldowns will not interfere with each other anymore.

The only ones that still don’t work together are sigils of the same name or stacking sigils.

Keep in mind however, the functionality of some sigils might be changed.

Ofcorse Thief dont need TRAITS on HIGHT DMG AND INITIATIVE REGEN LoL*

Not nearly as much to specialize for -1- Weapon to do even remotely the same amount of damage output. Which completely shuts them down from being effective in other areas. The very weapon itself is crippling and circumstantial.

Wanna know what screws over every KS? Blind. Damage output? 0.

The amount of effort it takes for a BS Thief to deal notable damage is nothing compared tot he investment a Rifle Warrior has to go through.

Shortcomings ? Swap weapons fix it

That is not an appropriate counterbalance to this argument. Since the other weapons in question also don’t have the same damage output or ability do they?

Because Hammer train with AOE CC every 6 sec is better ?

No, simply because Rifle has more weaknesses than it has Strengths. It’s hardly used in PvE, PvP or WvW.

“easier to spam it due to only worrying about Initiative”

This is really funny passage.

Back Stab “cost” 6 initiative when you use CaD = 6 sec CD, or 9 initiative ( Black powder + HS) With trait 7 initiative = 9/7sec CD. Or must waste utility slot spell (Blinding powder, Shadow refuge or Hide in Shadow)

Tell me what is easier ? Click F1 every 6 sec on long range hight DMG spell or go on close range use abilitiest that make stealth an hit enemy behind on full DMG potencial ?

BTW i hit 95% Kill Shot(15-22kDMG vs low armor class Thief and Ele) with me Warrior because i use frenzy, bolaso.

You make it sound like Thieves aren’t regenerating Initiative whilst they stealth or move. Please.
Plus, you can easily sit and wait the full duration of your Stealth to regain any Initiative until landing the blow without much worry.

Also again, 6 seconds only if TRAITED for it, as in, going all the way to Grandmaster for a 6 second CD on KS.
You are also completely ignoring all the other shortcomings the Rifle has compared to your cheesy Backstab.

I’m still saying landing the BS is easier. Otherwise we’d see alot more Rifle warriors dominating, wouldn’t we?

Also, hitting glass uplevels in WvW must make ya feel special with those numbers indeed.

Kill Shot long range attack every 6 sec,Warrior dont need 5x signet on masive DMG, Warrior has 18.5k HP and heavy armor + surv. abilities like a endurance pain.

Backstab melle range, THief must use all signet on might stack on same DMG like Kill Shot, Thief has 10.5k HP and zero survival abilities with 5x signet.

Kill shot
Damage Level 1 damage: 869 (2.25)?
Damage Level 2 damage: 1,063 (2.75)?
Damage Level 3 damage: 1,256 (3.25)?

Backstab
Damage Front damage: 403 (1.2)?
Damage Back damage: 806 (2.4)?

Your logic is really wrong

So is yours apparently. You might get 6 seconds off Killshot’s CD if you trait fully into Discipline. It’s 9 without.

All the other things you mentioned are utilities that can be used by any build. Very few run Rifle to begin with (I’m likely one of the few). You need to build for KS to be even half effective.

Also it roots you for almost 2 seconds. Completely exposed and vulnerable. Doing any other action breaks it. Which, also puts it on cooldown.
Also you making it seem like Warriors spam Killshot every time its off cooldown is only if they have the adrenaline for it too.

It’s MUCH easier to land a Backstab than a Killshot ever will be and its much easier to spam it due to only worrying about Initiative. Also KS is much easier to dodge too. I’m not even counting you being able to stealth for Backstab either.

The whole point of cultural armor is to eliminate clipping and streetching issues. This is especially important for the Asura and Charr.

It makes no sense on other races because these issues would just return.

Well, they failed at that even then. At least notably so for Charr. So, I really don’t see what makes it so different than other sets.

I actually liked the Human T3’s on the charr, looked pretty decent for once.

Aside from Mist Form and the Engi Elixer (which i also don’t agree with), the others still leave you vulnerable in taking damage in other ways/sources. Even with an ally, unless you can revive fast enough (which would have to be immediate), there is no stopping those 3 from occurring.

You can deposit the Rylock mini to your bank (right click it and hit ‘Deposit Collectible’) and it will be in your collectibles tab.
As for the armor, you can also go to your bank and deposit it there so you can use it on your other characters. Same with the boosters. I’m almost positive they are account bound, not soulbound.

The Golem on the other hand, is character bound, but you get that for each new character anwyays.

The Mistfire Wolf is a skill, not an item. You will be able to use it once a character reaches 30.

Eeeeeh???, example: critical hit = 7000 … 5% = 350, …350 of health? XDD

You underestimate how fast a Thief can attack compared to most classes. 5% per crit is huge if you get a good chain going. Not to mention even if you blow your heal you got a form of regen passively. I’d say thats better than even Adrenal Health for Warrior. Maybe even HS.

- Shadow Art – Resilience of Shadows
This Trait is not useful because no one hits me when I’m in stealth.

Talonblaze.3175

Failing is enough punishment for failing. You lose time, you don’t get the thing you were trying for. You don’t need to associate a cost to it.

And what is wrong with the word casual? Like we can’t be casual in a game we bought for our off time? Whenever someone trots out the word hardcore I just always imagine some PvE WoW nub goin on about how good he is at gear grind. It don’t mean anything.

When someone’s shootin hoops in their driveway and they miss, do we ask them to take $5 out of their wallet and burn it? It’s nonsense, get over it.

Not many things in this world cost only ‘time’ anymore if you fail. Very few things do.

Nothing is wrong with the word casual itself, but the gap between what separates players in such categories. Most of them are what I’d borderline being ‘noob’. However its not even the proper term since most know better, just choose not to. I could also use lazy too if that suits it.
These are people who prefer no risk for their reward. The path of least resistance.

It’s amazing how much that gap has changed in the first two years of this game. You could practically never leave Queensdale and still manage to obtain everything you could ever need.

If the person shooting the baskets never learns to actually learn to control the ball rather than dumbly throwing it against the board hoping it will sink into the net, nothing is ever going to change. Nor should he be falsely rewarded for no effort.

I’m not going to give you $5 for playing crap b-ball.

repair costs aren’t the way to penalize bad players. Releasing content that is actually hard and requires skill / coordination / a brain is plenty. But so far I can count the encounters that require those things on one maybe two hands.

They weren’t a huge one no. But it was a small thing to incentive better play.
A penny saved is a penny earned, right?

The problem I have here is that they took away that incentive and replaced it with nothing else.

Feedback Thread: Say goodbye to Armor Repairs?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Talonblaze.3175

I’m quite happy with alot of the new changes that have come about with this feature patch, but this recent change of Armor Repair Costs and a few other things have irked me a bit in the way that although ANet is catering more to the casuals, I think they are holding their hand a bit -too- much.

The only incentive you had to improve play when you died, was suffering through the humiliating wallet reducing repair costs. And if you played bad, they could get pretty high up there.

With the Queensdale Champ train still at large catering to some of the laziest players I could possibly find in the game, coupled with now anything that a player doesn’t bother to learn properly, won’t suffer more than a minor inconvenience for playing bad. There is no incentive for them NOT to be lazy or not care about improving. They have nothing to lose.

Back earlier in this game where coin wasn’t easily obtainable and only higher end content yielded any sort of reward, would have benefited from this change most. Since although you wouldn’t be penalized for doing bad in open world, in order for you to get anything noteworthy, you still had to learn and coordinate properly in things like dungeons.

There’s less and less incentive for people to learn their skills and characters properly, and although a nerf to the champ bags is happening, it doesn’t truly solve the issue. These skill-less trains will still occur as long as they are promoted as the care-bear method of getting what you need with minimal effort.

I’m not against this change, but I’m not for it with how the game is currently shaped the way it is. I’m hoping that there will be more ways to get people to learn to play properly and engage in higher level content and areas. The trait revamp was an ever so slight step in the right direction but still not enough to sway the balance.

Regardless, I feel there’s absolutely no risk for the rewards now and will only devalue content (especially ‘challenging’ content) as long as this trend continues.

Currently regarding thief weapon skills, there is no counterplay.
Heartseeker is the only one thats interruptable because its a movement skill.

Practically being immune to interrupts is already a huge boon. Adding onto the fact that they also only suffer HALF of the Chill condition makes it even worse.

There needs to be something that affects them negatively, be it reduced attack speed or slower initiative, something has to give. Currently they have less risk for using their skills in a spammed fashion than most other classes.

So far the only way to stop a thief from doing anything is to completely disable them via Fear or Launches and even that’s not even viable with the stunbreaks and cleanses.
