Is it bad I didn’t even notice it was her?
I managed to get over the issues of such a mindset, if only a bit.
I was greatly disappointed when I found out that healing allies as a Guardian wasn’t very easy or rewarding. (And not very powerful either unless you spec’d right into it.)
Managed to feel a bit more like a dedicated healer surprisingly as a Mantra Mesmer (2k heal spams galore), so that was a nice bit even if it was the class I least expected to have such a well controlled heal for allies.
I’d like Barbarian’s as well, especially since Necro’s DS Lifeforce pool scales with Vitality, so the more vitality, the more LF you have. Toughness unfortunately doesn’t do that.
I am having the same issue, my first guild Draconic Order [DRGN] suffers this problem for both me and my co-leader. Other members of my guild can access it fine.
My other guilds (even the ones created by me) do not suffer from this.
A full party is always recommended as the fracs are built around such. (And in some cases you can’t progress without at least 3 for things like control panels.)
Good classes are Warrior, Guardian, Mesmer. That covers most of the bases. Engie, Necro and Ele are good seconds. A good thief can do some great damage as well.
Doing level 1-9 fracs shouldn’t be too hard to get those relics, it’s pretty easy to do once you get the groove going.
Unfortunately alot of the tricks/ease for fracs are better shown rather than told. I suggest looking up some videos on fractals.
Keep in mind that the levels you get are randomized. Getting Swamp 1st isn’t always the case for instance so be prepared.
Most of the fights you’ll encounter have mechanics tied to them be it as simple as “kill in this order” or “do X to keep your party alive from environmental damage” but those are saved for some of the more major fights.
There are a few that are just straight up kill, which is nice.
Sounds like your issue is more so that you haven’t simply dealt with the stuff you’ve gathered than there being any actual issue with too much stuff. Such as your MF fodder and then some.
Boosters = Use Powder, you now just made the 8ish variations of boosters into 2.
Start refining or destroying your ascended materials.
Given there is 8 crafting professions 4 characters can learn 2 each. So you should have at least 1 character who could learn your recipes even if they can’t craft it now.
Even still, with the list of stuff you have there, how you’ve run out of 12 tiers of bank tabs is beyond me when i have alot more than whats listed there (as I also collect vanity items and rewards from say the LS like the Zephyr Sanctum.) Coupled with unused skins and the like and I’m not even at the 12 tier limit yet.
Alternatively, you can also make a Guild Bank for things like your overflow of t5 materials if you aren’t going to sell them. Along with anything else that isn’t account bound if you REALLY feel the need you must have more space.
Honestly, I think there’s a few ways that things can go regarding the 4v5 situation.
For a grace disconnect period, I’d say 1 minute. Any longer is too crippling for a team.
A player that DOES rejoin, shouldn’t be penalized. An honorable fighter always finishes a fight, even on the downslope. If they lose, they should have their ranking affected just as they would for the rest of their team. That way, there is still incentive to remain playing. (Lessened penalty or victory and rank/track progression versus straight up dishonor.)
As many mentioned innocent disconnects usually don’t last long and a DC shouldn’t snatch a possible victory from a player.
If we aren’t allowing allowing volunteers midway through a match, then the 4 man team should have their ranking penalty reduced by 1 (to a minimum of 0) determined by the system prior in accordance to their chance of winning.
If we are allowing volunteers, the person selected during/after that 1 min mark will not suffer any penalty to their ranking if it is a loss upon volunteering. (Especially since they also don’t get full match bonuses anyways much like in Hotjoin matches given how the system works).
This would still allow a previously 4v5 team to still come back with the extra volunteer. The volunteer doesn’t lose anything by doing so and only has something to gain as long as the team does emerge victorious.
The ‘disorientation’ effect noted prior will not be as much as an issue as one would think in my opinion as long as they are notified that they are volunteering to sub-in and not merely starting a new match.

The only exception is the Engineer, as being rooted in the Charr industrial movement, it is the only class which not only has no magical skills but purposely abstains from magic in favor of technology.
Not entirely sure how Elixers that can reproduce magic effects, shrink you to a tiny mote or stealth or grow you or transform you into a twister are… well… “technology”
My only gripe when it comes to the mobs is when there’s more than one Teragriff knocking you to kingdom come whilst still being susceptible to damage from every other source as well.
90% of the time, they are also the reason the fort Commanders are down as well.
Beyond that though, the fights are indeed challenging but at the same time manageable overall. The mobs by themselves are not powerful, its the groups that tend to make it a lethal experience.
Is it good? I’d say so.
However the issues with the map in my opinion are more about the long term rewards and less about the feel and mob issues.
They have already begun phasing out Water weapons if you haven’t noticed.
The recent 2 sets of BLTC lack all water weapons for the skins. Not a coincidence.
I suggest turning on AoE loot, this will pretty much solve your loot bag and chest woes.
Something tells me Echoes of the Past may have had something to do with this.
Retaliation is good for pve.
However, in order for it to be effective and not overwhelming for players and make some classes more useful is simply thus;
1. Don’t allow minor trash mobs to buff others with Retaliation. These tend to come in large numbers and henceforth not only allow it to be spammed alot, but also cause the most havoc with how many there are overall in combination. Self application is more acceptable given one simply needs to pay attention to the single mob they are fighting.
2. Instead of low cooldown spam of the Retaliation buff, make it last longer instead. This allows boon stripping classes to be more effective.
3. Support mobs or special mobs should be the only ones capable of group retaliation. This creates smarter play for choosing priority targets and can lead to some challenge if decided otherwise with mobs granted such buffs. This also prevents the issue with spamming via multiple mobs.
The issue I think is not the buff, but how it’s been introduced a few cases. The main issue seems to be frequency and numbers more so than the buff itself.
I can’t remember my highest.
Amusingly enough, the highest I DID get, somehow caused me to get my “Master of Overkill” achievement.
Didn’t expect that.
I’m quite glad it’s unisex. The whole deal with Charr is that for their gear being on par with males. The Wintersday, Witch’s and Ancestral outfits didn’t sit well with me in that regard.
Will drops be finally fixed?
A definite maybe, at some point. Near future? Probably not.
Will we be finally able to salvage/exchange our unwanted Ascended rings?
No.
Will they add new mini dungeons this year?
Yes, most likely revolving around LS or special content, as previous.
Will we be finally able to go beyond scale 50?
Doubtful.
Will FOTM finally become hardcore PvE end game?
Is there anything else?
Unholy Sanctuary was a good start in my opinion.
It’s not over the top, but it provides a nice little bonus for the class mechanic that many wanted to begin with in DS such as self healing.
Most people will still however say its far too weak. Personally I think better scaling with possibly HP would be better.
But overall, healing in DS isn’t the overall problem. What will be the problem is of course, how much.
The thing is, if other healing sources become too good, the Necro’s sustain will be overdone and heavy nerfs will come to pass.
I could care less about the skimpiness or whatnot.
However, I’d be more than happy to see more of my Charr’s awesome fur pattern and the torso area does provide the most of it. It’s such that makes most Charr unique from each other besides armor after all, that and such detail is a shame to cover up.
I still find it better than the entire games being voiced by 2 voice actors with no difference cough, but hey, its fully voiced right?!
It probably would have better to have inquired this with the actual support team regarding this more so than an open forum where they can give you the details of why they flagged you as such and possibly more.
It’s getting closer and closer to me just upright deleting it. It’s only being kept for novelty atm for how pointless it is.
Technically everything in the store is subject to ANet’s discretion on whether it stays or goes.
It’s hard to tell how long they will stay. They took them off last time, I see no reason why not again.
Or you could keep them and use them as forge fodder.
Not going to happen for 1s per use. The black lion kit is 300 gems which is equivalent roughly to 30g for 25 uses and will guarantee a upgrade extract although destroy the item (about a little more than 1g per use).
Anet will probably release a “Gold-Feed-Extractor” following the pattern of the copper/silver salvage kit. And it will probably “eat” 1-2g per extract.
The concern here mostly is the current engame gear. Ascended. Which the BLSK is completely useless on.
This is why the extractor was even created. For such gear as in the current state, salvage kits cannot remove anything from Karma, badges, certain special gear (usually obtained through story or levels) and Ascended.
Salvaging normally had other benefits that came with the price tag besides the sigil/rune. Such as ectos, dark matter in exotics and inscriptions in certian gear which usually added a bit of profit. Whereas this extractor gets none of those benefits.
Boy, I’m rather glad this was cut.
They may, and probably will, come back in the future. Just not the near future.
Oh don’t worry, as ANet likes to put it, it’ll come back:
Soon™
Depends if its recently rained or not. Wet fur and all… Though she takes pride in keeping in good condition.
1) Chunky, being a charr, gotta have some crunch.
2) In a bank, where its safe and can grow. Invest just like Gnashblade!
3) Meatlovers, in the spirit of the best holiday ever. Meatoberfest!
4) Border Collie most likely. Loyalty and a companion.
5) Humanities.
Actually the stuff you see after the big wings is actually small tiny birds. You can also hear the sound effect of them tweeting when the animation plays.
I personally like it the way it is, more than neutral for anyone imo.
Oh good, a fix for my poor level 30 Necro stuck on Wells. Thanks for the heads up!
I believe it counts as a separate item itself, as you can actually wear the normal Royal Signet of Doric AND the infused version, even though it says ‘Unique’.
So its only the normal one it’ll count until they do some workaround where it fixes the version differences somehow. Which will no doubt screw over anyone also wearing the two version of the ring as well.
It’s been speculated that this was specifically a China release exclusive. We may never see it. Closest thing to it is the Finisher atm.
What I’m saying is that kind of happened already if you did the one with Tonn or Syska.
While this is indeed true, its no different than other parts of the story where other characters are involved for important parts. Take professor Gor for example.
Most only know what his theories (or who the hell he even is) if they play the Asura storyline. Whilst I’m sure many got curious what those theories are, the story seems to consider everything being played almost parallel.
Just because you played Charr, doesn’t mean Gorr’s discoveries never happened. You just weren’t present for it. They can be explained if you take the oppertunity to find out how or why though.
The same thing is the case with the Krait Orb. Dealing with Syska or Tonn didn’t stop such events with Apatia from occurring, but were done simultaneously.
The issue is however, it was completely cut.
It would be the same as cutting out the entire Asuran section of Professor Gorr’s discoveries (which truth be told, was a HUGE impact to the Pact’s advancement) and them just having this uber megalaser that somehow the dragons were weak against with no explanation as to how or why.
They can do it of course, but it doesn’t bode well storywise if its never explained somewhere. In some fashion. Even if it means replaying the game.
Because rampage is bad by design. I don’t mean mechanics wise but concept-wise.
It could be buffed so much that they make it OP but it doesn’t change the fact the the conceptually the skill isn’t too well designed. Why?It makes you drop your weapons – in a game where weapons, skins and looks matter most people don’t want to be “that guy” who fistfights his way through combat.
This is a game – it doesn’t just have to work – people want it to look cool and nifty while it’s working. It has to feel satisfying. And in no way does it feel satisfying to use it. So people don’t.
That and being locked out of essential utilities and skills is something rather undesirable as well.
Besides it being on the left (minor nitpicking, but most content is right sided), everything about this is pure awesome.
Especially those tabs.
Removes that redundant clicking between sections that should have been tabs to begin with.
We have seen Einstein’s quote about insanity a lot these days, and if they recycle the whole “Blood and Madness” plot just for the sake of having a Halloween festival, it’s proven right once again.
I personally think the reason they are recycling this content again is for China. They haven’t experienced this story.
So because they decided that for good or bad, our versions are unified, we get the same deal here.
Oh wait, how does Halloween fit into your LS2 arc ANet?
After all, thats why you said SAB isn’t coming back, right?
Especially given that B&M was done last year.
Guess that method of entrapping Thorn just didn’t cut it.
Well, that’s that then. No VIP. /thread.
We’ll see the question pop up at the next uproar.
Actually they said no CHINA vip.
This doesn’t mean there wont be one tailored or changed in some fashion for the NA market or something cleverly disguised as one.
we test a lot more than we ship
This had me laughing.
Twilight Arbor Path F/U
Personality
Now an entire chapter of a story.
What next?
Probably Charr.
Seems like nothing but an absolute waste of assets.
Waste of voice acting.
Waste of animators.
Waste of programming.
Waste of storytelling.
Waste of time.
This is part of the new Collections achievement category.
You crafted/obtained 18 crafted armor skins, thus you got that reward.
It’s an exotic staff.
I can probably explain why its account bound though. This item probably existed long before the Magic Find stats were removed from gear. All items that originally had such were forced to be account bound when obtained and you had to select a different set of replacement stats.
This is just one of those older weapons that is affected by such.
Well this seems to be a notable bugger. Decided to pick up the trilogy since it was cheaper to get the pack then it was to get the last two campaigns I needed, except I can’t add it to my account.
Good fun, wish I had known this prior to purchasing the kitten thing.
EDIT: For those that encounter this same issue, you must login via the NCSoft website to add your key, it will not allow you to in game.
(edited by Talonblaze.3175)
Ah thanks. Much obliged.
One thing that I don’t think I saw noted (if so, forgive me) was that for this Mini’s update to make it work like the wardrobe and whatnot one thing wasn’t really clarified unlike say Skins for weapons and armor.
Unless I’m blind as a bat.
Does forging minis (such as the ones from Dragon Bash) automatically unlock? Or does it destroy them as normal without compensation? How will this affect sets that are already unlocked or will be? Especially in regards to bought sets like the aforementioned ones?
Will destroying a Mini yield the same results as destroying a skin these days?
I’m just curious if “unlocking” them through that one specific option is the only way to retain them regardless of destruction?
This sort of thing does leave me wary as it also possibly rules out the ability to get forged minis if you unlock them as well if I read correctly if you decide to want the special forged one at a later date.
I’m not a huge mini collector but such things do impact my thoughts on obtaining some in the future.
The difference between Dyes and Minis for those that might be wondering;
Dyes;
Got a surge of supply from duplicates during the last feature patch.
Obtainable from;
-Gem Store
-Crafting
-Laurels
-Trading Post
Miniatures;
No extra supply from duplicates.
Series 1-3 Obtainable only through Gem Store.
Others usually from Special Events
Trading Post (For ones not Account Bound)
Unlike the Dyes supply, the minis are ONLY supplemented and supplied through Gem Store purchases in order to keep up their stock, with the exception of a few minis for certain events. Thus, the demand will almost always be higher than the supply, especially given the case of the series sets usually being rotated on being available through the gem store.
Despite “support” being a complete joke in this game in terms of actually rewarding you, its best to find a class that can do DPS and heal as you so desire.
This is why I have stuck to my Mantra mesmer quite a bit. Pretty much every charge heals allies around whilst empowering you offensively, encouraging you to rinse and repeat.
I find fractals to be pretty profitable as well, much like Dungeons and such. I find I get quite a good number of rares/exotics and champs tend to be a common occurrence there as well, also counting Agony drops to boot including the 1g per tier.
That, and its where Magi gear drops for inscriptions.
I don’t see how its really any better than Arcane Thievery except with a slightly lesser cooldown and doesn’t send conditions back. Most of the time there’s only 3 boons that have any considerable uptime on a foe anyways for stealing “copying all boons” would have to almost be immediate upon an enemy spamming such and would really only be such a case against a Guardian or buff Engie and perhaps an Ele to make the most of it.
It’s not entirely useless, but I won’t be taking it for any of my builds. It’s too situational and specific.
