Adrenaline nerf, not a big problem

And yet OP you fail to see how this affects the other aspects. The “buffs” do not make up for the heavy nerf being received in many regards. The new change for instance, cripples rifle even more than before.

Rework Rifle Burst

in Warrior

Posted by: Talonblaze.3175

Talonblaze.3175

I’m kind of worried about the future of killshot as well.

One small buff I thought they could perhaps give it is to make it unblockable by default. That would at least give it a way of overcoming one kind of expendable defensive resource.

Also, does crack shot not make killshot pierce? If it doesn’t, it probably should… only makes sense, given what the trait does.

It does, but I can’t recall if a blind or such prevents it from piercing. I know buffs like block and invulnerability stop it from piercing.

Rework Rifle Burst

in Warrior

Posted by: Talonblaze.3175

Talonblaze.3175

With the upcoming changes to adrenaline and burst abilities, of all the weapons that get hit the hardest I believe Rifle got it the most crippling. Especially given that so far, the only “buff” to Rifle is one that was needed prior. However the newest changes to Adrenaline make the Burst skill quite laughable especially since Cleansing Ire won’t even benefit from its glaring many weaknesses.

Invulnerable
Evades
Blocks (Unless you activate Signet of Might)
Blinds
Stealth (If you didn’t pre-channel prior)

All those already were very strong on completely shutting down most burst skills, but even more so in regards to Rifle. Recovery was a bit easier with having to only deal with the 7-10 seconds of cooldown. However now, with all those listed above you also now lose your adrenaline.
The AA buff isn’t going to be making the adrenaline any less of an issue especially after shutting down the rifle’s only notable upside.
Also keep in mind you still suffer;

EXTREMELY Telegraphed Attack.
Rooted In place.
1-1/4 Cast Time.
Single Target.

The reward versus risk for the rifle is a complete joke and will be even more so come patch time, especially in PvP based modes like WvW and PvP.

[SPOILER] Who did you save first?

Talonblaze.3175

Mostly Plunt, not really out of choice to be honest, but he seemed to be the loudest of the bunch and well… He’d never let it go if you didn’t save him first. You know Asura and their superiority thing.

Next was Jennah simply because she was closer. Surprisingly enough Smodur had actually broken from his Charr bodyguards to help and attack the mobs around her. was quite surprised and wasn’t sure if it was intended.
Good thoughts on the Peace Treaty to come?

Following that, I helped clean up the last of what the Iron legion charr were battling before helping Knut. Not that he needed it, he seemed to have fun.

Ready Up #16

in PvP

Posted by: Talonblaze.3175

Talonblaze.3175

Agree with that. At the moment the warrior has no weaknesses. #2 best condition removal in the game is not a weakness and adrenaline is always up. Watching the warrior streams shows that Adrenaline is max long before the cooldown for the F1 ability is up agin

Thing is, some Warriors want their adrenaline bar to remain full. Especially when alot of traits rely on it to be so. Quick adrenaline gain allows one that does rely on such to spend their burst and quickly regain the lost trait bonuses much quicker to recover.

Have you had any other ips show up apart from that?

Is it? Cripes, here I was having a shock for nothing if thats the case. Perhaps thats why I never got the email.

But no, as far as I can recall, there was no other IP’s but even still for someone whos account paranoid with all these hacked accounts going on, Anet would make sure to label their site IP in that manner.

Even still, would feel alot better if my account was locked in such a fashion still.

Talonblaze.3175

So to start off, I (as well as another household player) have not been receiving any emails whenever there is an unauthorized login from a different location.
Nothing in either my Junk/Spam or Inbox to notify of such.

To make matters worse, both of our accounts within the last hour or so were accessed from a location in Texas. (We live in Canada…) Even after such we saw nothing in our emails regarding this login.
A password change was immediate, however I’m feeling this is no longer enough.

Is it possible to prevent ANY login from a location other than an authorized one? I’d much rather deal with the hassle of providing support my information to authenticate additional locations than feel vulnerable again knowing that even with my secure password, I’m still getting logins and can do nothing to stop them.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Talonblaze.3175

An interesting idea, but it suffers greatly from the power creep. instead the Support Power should make existing stats for boons, like regeneration based on such effectiveness.
Swiftness Speed % is based on it.
How much power and condition from each Might stack is dependent.
Protection’s damage reduction % is also touched.
Fury has its % changed accordingly.
Regeneration can stay as it is, given how its already affected by this.
Stabilty, given its scarcity I don’t think should be touched by this change.
Vigor’s endurance regeneration increase would also be scaled.

Not only would this make spamming boons a bit less powerful, but it would give Support classes even more reason to play their style as it means alot more benefit from boons, much like the opposite of condition users.

I was kinda hoping LA wouldn’t have been rebuilt. Because that would actually make these passes useful. Now, there isn’t any huge incentive to use these, if anything, more of a pain with nothing going for it.

Currently its still faster for me to go from PvP or WvW to get to most of my services. Plus, they don’t make me load twice when it somehow doesn’t recognize I have the pass after 5 minutes of either relogging or going from PvP to said ship.

Don’t buy any of the unlimiteds unless you want aesthetics. If any of the picks are even close to being worth anything now, its the Sprocket Pick, everything else is inferior to the functionality.

I don’t care about the looks, I bought them for the convenience of not having to carry around backup tools or need to swap one while the game considers me to be “in combat.”

Which is all well and fine, I thought the same way. But had I known they’d release one with perks. I wouldn’t have bought the previous ones. Plus, nothing says they won’t release more ‘improved’ picks.

Just know that it lacks the added feature despite it having the same pricetag. If that’s cool, feel free.

This is one of the reasons I’m playing my Warrior alot in PvP simply because ‘Champion Legionnaire’ is the closest thing to such a title in Charr standards. But yeah, as mentioned above, it was a real big troll on the game to be like “I shall give you the title, Champion of Orr” then never actually receive it. XD

Still, if they added something like Order missions or such to unlock such titles int he future, I wouldn’t mind.

If that’s the storyline where the Risen are attacking the Priory, you get the special weapon to clear the lab and then fight the “big boss” then, no, the new balance change didn’t make it a cake walk, it already was from the start. Having 14 toons, all but 2 prior to the patch.

I don’t think it was intended to be all that difficult. Everything except for a few cases, after Claw Island are almost cinematic story missions. There’s very little challenge or needs. Most you can just outright skip combat.

Weapons bought with badges of honor unusable?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Talonblaze.3175

This is the exact same as Karma gear in PvE, one could say badges are the equivalent of such.

Many would likely agree this should be changed, but its hard to say what effect it would have on the games economy. Which is likely why they’ve remained so.

Except they aren’t equivalent since they cost GOLD + badges. They need to make them salvageable.

They used to be salvageable, the changed the cost a long time ago at this point to cost fewer badges. Since the amount of WvW badges you can get would allow for a larger flood of MF exchange and raw mats they chose to save the economy and make that impossible.

So its ok to flood the market with dungeon stuff, but with www stuff no?

okie-dokie

Dungeon loot is limited in a large way to 1/day/path where WvW you can zerg all day, *cough*hackgate*cough* and get endless badges. If they capped the number of badges a day like they do for hj in spvp then I would be on your side but alas it isn’t.

Also lets not forget the large amount of badges you get from achievement chests as well.

Fight the good fight buddy. Though, if they don’t respond to a 1,000 reply post with major concerns about the game, I sincerely doubt they’re going to reply to this one. ArenaNet seems to have adopted the policy of brushing things under the rug in hopes that people eventually forget about them.

You’d be surprised what may get a response. If you look at the game bugs forum you can see that certain developers are active in their areas. (For example, an audio developer obviously won’t comment on this or on megaserver problems, but is extremely vigilant for audio bugs and problems). It just depends on whether the right developer sees it.

Looking at the “Watchwork Pickaxe” thread, which is still being constantly revived with no response, doesn’t give me much hope this will ever be looked at all that seriously. It’s Charr, they already said they don’t care.

Warrior, GS/Rifle - viable?

in PvP

Posted by: Talonblaze.3175

Talonblaze.3175

Considering rifle was my primary weapon in PvE and WvW I was sorely disappointed with how it competes in the PvP standings.

The damage output isn’t bad, but there’s no mobility and the only defensive option for it is the #5.
However, the Rifle’s greatest weakness I found was the constant spamming of blind that makes it utterly useless in most matches against decent players. It’s why the longbow was generally favoured more because of such.
The telegraphed attacks and wind-up for killshot certainly didn’t do it any favors either.

I’d like nothing more than to use it effectively in all game modes.

Taking back ascalon

in Charr

Posted by: Talonblaze.3175

Talonblaze.3175

Should the peace treaty be canceled, I think it’s more interesting to ask:
- What would happen with the three orders and The Pact? Would charr and humans still be able to work together?
- How would the other races react? Would they ignore their war, or would they take sides?

The Orders are above the issues that the regions have. They state this a number of times. Even Hiroki (the human) in the Vigil said that fighting the dragons is more important to her than protecting Queen Jennah. Logan wasn’t exactly pleased with this answer.

So I don’t think the Pact would be affected all that much, maybe some slight tensions. But overall it wouldn’t affect it quite as much as one might think given the Pact’s goals are different than the regions and their politics.

As for the other races, they suffer their own problems and/or lack the resources needed in order to wage any notable wars. Joining or choosing a side would bode ill in either regard as well. So I don’t think they would get involved.

You can learn alot there without having to worry about people screaming at you that you are doing something wrong. You can experiment and try out new things without people breathing down your neck and the constant worry about PPT. This is where it shines.

I know alot of people that avoided WvW because of the harsh people expecting everyone to know the ropes day 1.

Sure, its a karma-loot fest for some, I use it as a tool.

Also, some epic fights can still be had, heck, perhaps even more so than in normal WvW given you have to be aware of your surroundings.
