HoT is not included with PoF.
PoF does not require HoT.
When purchasing PoF you can add on HoT for $20/€20.

Videos have shown updrafts in at least one location, so it’s going to be there. However, it will likely never be the only way to access an area, since not all players will have Gliding.
Important things I miss if I dont buy hot

how about legendary crafting? hot exclusive or will one expansion suffice
I think Core Tyria masteries will be unlocked with any expansion.
Likely no role at all going forward, but as Unbound Magic can be monetized it can’t really become obsolete.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Upgrade_Extractor
It costs 250 gems, which likely matches or exceeds those 60 gold you want to save…
Some items are simply not salvageable. Practically verything bought with karma, and stuff you get from levelling are like this.
What you have is a Travel Toy, not a Glider. They exist side by side, just like the Electromagnetic Ascender/Descender etc. There was, as jia li ng wrote, a bundle containing both at a reduced price, but no one who already had the toy got the glider cheaper when it was introduced.
Don’t grind all the Orichalcum yourself – do stuff you enjoy and buy most of it off the TP instead. Spread it out. Do this in regards to all the stuff you find slow/tedious to get yourself – put up buy orders of a little at a time and you’ll make steady progress without going completely broke all the time.
Do easy WvW dailies – it was one of the things I feared most when I set out to make Howler, but it really turned out pretty simple. Get started on that early and pop into WvW when the activity is low and just kill some guards, capture ruins and camps, and be prepared to get defeated if you run into a player. Your reward track keeps ticking even when you run back, so getting killed is really no big deal!
What to get depends on play style, but in direct answer to your question I’d probably go for those bigger things. If I get the Ultimate, I’ll likely get more Shared Inventory Slots.
Given how they’re handling the Revenant, I’d expect Masteries to be similar. Any expansion gives access to Core + its own set, but not other expansions’ sets.
Confused about new expac and future content

While yes, they did say “during the next LS updates” they also said more recently that the HoT legendaries would all be completed in time for PoF’s release.
I’d love a source for that, because the last word I’ve seen on legendaries is the Flashpoint AMA saying explicitly they would launch with LS4 but not require the new xpac. Seeing as there’s 6 legendaries left (you’re all forgetting Scepter in that list) that might fit if the new season is equal in length to last.
PoF will use their own Mastery Points, just like HoT and Core Tyria points are different.
They’ve said all accounts in good standing (i.e. not banned/suspended) will be able to join.
Practically. Joko subjugated Elona 60 years after EotN / 15 years after Primordus awoke / 200 years ago.
Charr: locked in conflict w humans until 6 years ago, Ebonhawke has been a block for expansion southwards.
Norn: They don’t move south until 30 years after Joko took over and only had about 50 years before Zhaitan awoke and cut off the seas. Also, they wouldn’t move as a people. Singular norn, absolutely!
Sylvari: Awoke 30 years ago, after all Dragons except Kralk and Mordy woke up.
250 years have passed. Ppl of all races have had time to move around/explore.
Not with the Dragons and Joko blocking practically all routes.
Isn’t anets job to balance this sort of thing?
Yes. And the way they have chosen to balance it is by keeping the new weapons and elite specs tied together.
I’m going to guess we’ll have a desolation related mastery as well, since only the margonites, undead, and the Junundu wurms can survive in the sulphorous wastes.
I’m not sure the region is so sulphorous anymore, that’s pretty much where Joko diverted the Elon to… That on top of Abaddons defeat, means the region might very possibly be cleansed in that regard.
Edit: Checked the Expansion web page description, the Skimmer part specifically mentions sulphur, so it’s still there (to some degree) and we’ll likely use Skimmers to cross it.

Personally, I can’t wait to ally with Joko…
So I can then proceed to actually be the first to betray an alliance and hack him into pieces as soon as the immediate threat is dealt with! That would be refreshing from being the usual “well-to-do hero type” as Joko himself put it!
I get what they represent collectively, including not being able too differentiate between a sell order filled by purchase and one removed by the seller.
What I can’ figure out is which is which.
If I read Behellagh right, it’s
Buy Now = Supply goes down = Sold
Sell Now = Demand goes down = Bought
Is that right?
This is about the site, gw2bltc.com, not the in-game Black Lion Trading Company.
Looking at the history, which is which of “Bought” and “Sold”? Maybe it’s a language thing, but too me they really describe the same thing just from different view. (Buyer vs Seller)
In this context however, it’s obvious one is fulfilled Sell Order (by someone klicking “buy now”) and the other is fulfilled Buy Order (“sell now”). But I can’t make heads or tails of which is which.
The only difference between Deluxe and Ultimate is 4000 gems.
Don’t delete!
LW season 3 offers ascended trinkets with any current stat combo!
I also assume they will offer a pack. When however might not be until launch of the expac, as ep 6 likely stays free until then.
Should be 6 uses per option according to wiki, so should match the regular eaters.
You can be any class. If you have the collections unlocked for several items it supposedly prioritizes the one you’re currently playing, so there might be an argument for going ranger for that part.
I’m pretty sure there’s no story requirement to enter the throne room.
The first item among the Common drops is the fixed drop – it what’s going to be in the first slot in the chest.
Can’t imagine they would add more Core Tyria masteries. It’s more likely they just want most players to have access to CT masteries before they move into the expansion.
Transmutable or something similar, as the legendary trinket has an aura effect.
A transmute option lets those who like it add the aura effect to other characters (like I can skin any old exotic with a legendary weapon skin), and those who don’t like it can effectively shut it off but keep the stat-swap.
Ah, so it wasn’t a question; it was a complaint.
Well, I can agree with that. However, all the gen 2.5 leges follow a very formulaic system that really makes minimal difference between the weapons, and the wood/metal requirements are entirely based on the 2hand/1hand/Offhand categorization. It does make it a lot easier to overview what you need for them.
I take everything I said back and state the opposite. Just logged in and checked… and stupid me already had discovered the recipe. Shouldn’t do crafting when I’m too tired…. thanks all, this topic can be closed.
Oh been there & done that! Especially when tired!
The sword cost exactly the same amount of wood as the mace, Eureka. Also less than the hammer costs.
What made this episode’s impact so much stronger, I think, is two things
- Two legendaries launched, not one.
- At least one more popular than the earlier ones.
I’d love it, but in the meantime I can recomend gw2efficiency.com! It offers basically all of that!
Are people using Swiftness in the examples you see?
Are you in combat?
These are both common causes of jumping shorter than expected.
Just to double check – did you check all tabs on the vendor? It should be on the third tab – “Collectibles”.
Edit: this tab needs Nuhoc Language mastery unlocked.
(edited by Tanner Blackfeather.6509)
Stupid question: have you doublechecked that you haven’t already discovered the recipe?
Did you AoE a lot? I think near-simultaneous kills can sometimes fail to register. Occasionally a few chak can be stuck in the wall as well, according to the wiki.
Oh yes, try the dungeon story mode! I did it with one other player! Read up on the mechanics (I read the wiki) and it’s quite simple, might even possily be soloable!
First, check the locked tracks if it tells “this track will be available in X weeks Y days.”
If it doesn’t say, then check which track is farthest off, then check the order of the Dungeon Tracks here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/WvW_Reward_Track#Dungeon_tracks
Each track is available for two weeks, so you can count how far off the one youor need is.
To go from 0 to 500 tokens, you’ll need to complete the track twice, and get a little bit into the third time. Starting at zero in the reward tracks and only using potions, you’ll need 174 potions.
IMPORTANT: Remember to reselect the track when it finishes after 80 potions, the game autoselects a different track!
My partner had the Petrified Wood and Jade Shard nodes. After getting the Oyster however, suddenly there was also the Fire Orchid node!
I couldn’t see it but my partner could – figured it was because I didn’t have 10k unbound magic.
How about a storage slot for the crystals used for guild armaments?
Shimmering and tenebrous crystals
They’re in now.
You mean Elona, not Cantha – there is no land connection between the continent of Tyria/Elona and Cantha.
The real question is: Where is Grenth? He was the “god who stayed behind”, not Balthazaar. So why is War our “villain” and what happened to Death?
Do you have a source for Grenth being the one who stayed behind? Otherwise it’s best to note that it’s speculation…
Nope, soulbound is bound to thr actual character, not the name.
According to https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Light_on_your_Feet it’s one of the effect of the trait. Wouldn’t be the first unclear/lacking trait description.
Interesting, because I activated one by mistake the other day! Will check once it runs out!
Do not work to get Ascended gear as a means to survive in HoT. If you can’t get around decently in exotics you’re not going to survive much better in Ascended, the stat difference is just not that big.
Do however look over runes and sigils, I find that I often forget to get those set up properly. Look over your traits too, picking out some defensive ones.
These last few days, I’ve noticed my Engineer’s equipped kit (tested w both Flamethrower and Elixir Gun) gets stowed when the gathering animation completes. Anyone else noticed this? Anyone know which patch made this happen?
It only happens when the animation completes, if I abort the gathering before the last strike it stays equipped.
