What you’ll find useful will vary soooo much depending on playstyle.
Do you stick to one character or play a lot of alts?
Do you like purchasing cosmetics?
Do you craft a lot or barely anything?
Do you play the Trading Post and like to speculate?
All of these leads to slightly different recomendations.

No one is forcing players into several guilds. Personally, I’m in two, but really only technically – one is just a personal storage guild.
If someone wants a guild whose members are only it that one, advertise it as such and only invite others who want that kind of guild. You suggested option excludes people.

All core traits interacting with Shroud interacts with something for Scourge, it’s just not clear from the trait text what it ineracts with.

Given the ease of monetizing UM, I think any loss in value of the tools is rather minor. It’s a free Magic Warped Packet/Bundle (forget which has better ROI) every few hours of gathering materials.

I’d have settled for race-specific dialog when actually confronting Balthazar. It feels really wrong that my 6-Gods-worshiping Human, my theologically aloof Asura and my crush-the-flame-legion-and-kill-all-gods Charr reacts in really exactly the same way… :/

I like the different looks a map has with hearts undone, it’s much more vivid than after you’ve solved the local problems. All the things that are interactive when you play a fresh character vanish when you do the hearts.

I agree though that hearts are the most boring things the game has to offer.

Of course by all means have the hearts open but make them optional after you have done your first 100% run. The very first thing I do when I make a new character is do 100% so I can get into the events and world bosses, But the hearts make doing map completion easily 10 times slower.

There is absolutely no need whatsoever to get 100% before getting into events and bosses. On the contrary, doing event chains (including pre-events for bosses) is the most effective way to fill some hearts.

There’s really only three reasons to go for 100% after the first time

• Legendaries
• Completionism
• Enjoyment
  And Completionism is really only a subset of enjoyment, just enjoying the fruits of the labor rather than the labor itself.

If none apply, why do it?

Because if not, that completely removes the continually mentioned “it might be a precursor/really expensive exotic”. The value of identifying will then be entirely depending on the price of the new PoF skins (impossible to know yet), and ectos.

Regarding datamining and such, it’s generally not discussed much here on the official forums as it is technically “against the rules” even if Anet doesn’t seem to mind very much. Reddit is a lot more open for that.

It’s really just an Exotic staff with either Marauder, Minstrel or Celestial stat. All are otherwise crafted and account bound.

Assuming you’ve previously chosen the Marauder version, I’d recommend just buying a Berserker or Valkyrie staff off the TP and reskin – won’t cost much more than what you get from Dailies, if that!

There are bunch! Some really close, some close-ish and some that ought to be the same that are drastically different.
For a pretty good one, Yak’s Bend is in southwest Frostgorge Sound.
OLD old Lions’s Arch is partially left underwater.

I would suggest holding onto any Gems until one is more familiar with the game and your personal needs/desires (in regards to the game).

This! Don’t rush into spending the gems, wait a while to figure out what you have need of!

Specific example: I play a lot of different characters, so Shared Inventory is really good for me while bagslots (per character) isn’t really a good buy.
Someone who really goes for the single main character, bag slots for that one is really good, while shared slots is really weak.

All the current raids require HoT to begin with.

One new class got Longbow last time.
Counting the PoF specs, Shortbow, Longbow, Rifle, Pistol and Mace will be equal at 3 classes each.

Bloodstone Fen: in the camp at ground level NW corner.
Ember Bay: near the asura gate at the first waypoint.
Lake Doric: right by the DR portal and first waypoint.

You need to spend World Ability Points (which you get from gaining rank i WvW) in the “War Gliding” track. To be able to do that, you need to have Heart of Thorns.
The first rank (allowing you to glide) takes 3 points.

1) Depends on the item, but usually only one.
2) Highly personal, but to me Copper-fed Salvage-o-matic, permanent gathering tools and Shared Inventory slots to hold them.
3) The expansion will not be purchasable with gems. Only the upgrade from Basic to Deluxe is.

Some instances will be hard, but it’s all designed to be soloable.

I take the desctipition to mean in the water below the waypoint. There’s no mention of needing an event, just access.

In the demo, follow the story until you come to a burning village. There you can interact with Raptors to mount, and when you’ve finished that step you’re gifted the mount and can use it anywhere.
At that point, click the icon to the right of your skillbar or press the assigned keybind (default X) to mount.

You have to buy both to get everything. You can however play PoF without having HoT.

Only the bottom spec slot can hold an Elite spec, so you can only have one active at a time. You’ll be either Druid or Soulbeast. You can of course switch it out whenever out of combat just like any other trait line.

The Vial of Liquid Aurillium was implemented properly a while back according to the patch notes.

Remember that you can convert gold to gems to pay for the transfer, then you could transfer just your account to their server.
There’s really nothing absolutely necessary for WvW in HoT, so you could hold off on upgrading your account for a little while, to spread out the cost.

If you buy either HoT or PoF you’ll get rid of the limitations on free accounts. (Be aware that some of then takes a few days to lift)
There’s a few WvW related things in HoT (some vendor options, and War Gliding), and likely a few things will come with PoF, but we don’t know yet.

Only the Master Craftsmen of those crafts that can make bags have them. They are a separate tab on Tailor, Leatherworker and Armorsmith master craftsmen.

I think there’s also a bunch of new crafting materials that don’t have slots in material storage yet but will have on launch.

To try the beta now, you don’t need to purchase any expansion.
To play in the PoF areas post launch, you need only buy PoF.
To be able to glide, or play in the HoT maps, you’ll need to add HoT.

Just levelling to 80 gives enough points to get all core traits and skills. To unlock Elite specs, you have to finish all core specs, and likely all skills too, so you’re going to have to spend them anway…

Tyria and Elona is really even less separate continents than Europe and Asia is. The Crysta Desert has always been presented as the far northern edge of Elona. The Primeval Kings were an ancient Elonan dynasty, and the Tomb of the Primeval Kings was a big deal in GW1.

I think it’ll happen at some point (maybe, even likely, not in PoF), and likely in a finale fight.

Definitely not in the manner of regular mounts with skills locked out, and maybe we don’t even control the flight. Similar to (but faaaar more active than) the airship in VoD.

In GW1 pvpers could buy unlock packs giving access to the skills and professions from a campaign without access to its PvE areas. I don’t really see a difference between that and selling expansion e-specs in the gemstore.

Not Mastery Points. PoF will have its own set, just like HoT and Core are separate sets.

My immediate reaction is that the rather large building west of the splotch is the Holdings of Chokin, Prince Bokka’s old place. That would put the southern Dragonbrand streak north and just east of the old Vabbi maps.

We’ll see once that_shaman finishes the updated legacy map!
