Regardless, Condition damage will still be subpar because of the condition cap, which will never change because of the stress of servers.

Not true. There is ways to make keep the cap, but make condition better in group.

You don’t need to remove the cap, you just need to change the numbers. Right now a good condition damage build can maintain between 15-20 or almost constant of most of the condition. That mean that 1 condition damage with some direct dmg player = a lit lost in DPS because of the cap. 2 condition dmage with some direct dmg player = 1 of the condition dmg player do almost no damage.

They just need to rebalance the dmg of each condition vs their duration. You could for exemple, make all condition do twice more dmg, but last half their current duration. That ways, all condition do EXACTLY the same overall dmg. But now you can be 2 condition damage in a party and only have a small lost in DPS. If your condition damage hits for 4 times the damage, but last 75% less times, then you could have 3 condition damage with no lost in dps. 4 Condition damage and a small lost in DPS. 5 condition damage in a party and you get a big lost in dps.

But that not only make condition damage in a group more viable, it also make place for more group play and synergy between each other build. For exemple a warrior full DPS. He usually gonna have near 100% crit chance and with the trait precise stikes he gonna be able to keep at least 1 constant stack of bleeds in order to activate the 10% dmg against foes that bleed. If you decrease the condition duration, then the warrior will have a hard time to put keep bleed 25-33% of the time. Same thing with vulnerability. Right now most vulnerability come from direct damage build. Warrior, Thief, Ele, etc. These are all in direct damage build. That should be a great place for condition damage to shine. Not only do they do damage, but they help direct damage player to keep up some of their damage modifier and make a big part of the job to keep Vulnerability up.

And all that work without removing the cap on condition and without any additional stress on the server.

I had something like this during my last fractal run. I was reviving a dead comrade, when mossman decided to come by for a quick double axe swing. I barely managed to abort and dodge, but our guardian who had joined me half a second earlier to help with the revive took the hit.
After he was back on his feet he graciously decided to leave the reviving to the little thief and keep moosi off my back instead.

That is so sad since Guardian with thief and ele are the best to rez people in the game. I cry a little each time i see a guardian that don’t seem to see all the block he have lol.

I support this. Great suggestions to make social life in the guild better.

That would also be nice to have reworked version of all the buff in the guild. It would be nice that you could start and stop constant buff. Don’t know if i’ll be clear, but i’ll try.

A window that allow you to check or uncheck all the buff that you want your guild to have constantly. Each of these buff would have a cost of influence/day or something like that. So you can check more buff with a larger guild without all the work you need to do in the back ground to manage the influence, restart research in time or manage the time of research for everything. That a lot of job, when the guild is big enough and when i’m not in game for a couple of days, usually it hard for the other to take the lead and do my job since they rarely have to do that and its not easy to know what to do when you that the first time.

If you add a statistic panel to help you understand what is your average influence income, it would be really easy for a guild leader to see how much of these constant buff you can afford to maintain.

You could see, oh on average each day i accumulate 1000 influence, ok so i choose to spend 500 of these on constant buff and that allow me to take 10%MF and 15% Karma for example.

Wardrobe and temple's runes

I think you’re missing the point. Transmutation stones were used to transfer the rune on the temple armor onto a different armor set (like berserker for example).
The new system will only allow you to put a different armor skin onto the temple armor, thus fixing the runes to the stat combination found at the temple karma vendors.

You will actually need an upgrade extractor to remove these runes after the update, significantly increasing their cost. Expect the prices to explode even more.
Unless they make the karma armors salvageable, or add the runes as separate items in the vendor screen (which they really should).

I don’t agree. I think that these runes will be more easily available. You needed transmutation crystal to gain access to these rune. But after the path you will only need transmutation charge. We don’t have all the detail, but a lot of people will be able to transform their old stockpile of transmutation stone into charge. For exemple, i’m gonna have 91 charges when the patch hit. And a lot of my guildmate gonna have between 30 and 80 transmutation from the transmutation stone alone. Some people like to change a lot of their skin around, but I think that the majority of player don’t use that many transmutation on their character. I wouldn’t mind taking 30-40 of my charges only to gain some melandru runes and sell them. Of course over time, when people will empty their stockpile of free charge, the number of these rune available should decrease.

So in the end, i think the new system will help people to get more of these runes and not making it harder.

but I don’t see this damage, I’ve just done Frac only Lv29 – my zerk warrior is hitting 27k by the end of his chain attacks effort required 0.

…as for the conjure weapons I don’t want to use them, it’s too gimmicky play my way they said right? I don’t want to use Frostbow or LH in every confrontation. As for GS yeah I hear you and understand the wall run fire trap but who really wants to run at a wall? seriously… dull

I’m a moaning bag is what this likely boils down to but I just don’t see the dps you guys speak of.

PVE btw, already well aware of their tank or go home abilities in PvP.

Ok so you don’t want to use Conjure weapons. Then use the staff build, its higher DPS, but less might stacking. I’m pretty sure i know why you don’t see the numbers we are talking about. Having Zerker gear is only a tiny part of the Ele DPS. The Trait are where you gonna get your DPS, and far more than any other profession. On your DPS ele you want to concentrate on your Damage modifiers.

On a typical fully buffed staff build 30/20/10/10/0 or 30/10/10/10/10 you can have a total damage modifier of about 112%. You more than double you damage. That is the strength of the Ele DPS.

Heavy are not overpower. They are more easy. The best combination usually take 1-2 Warriors, 1-2 Ele, and then a thief, guardian or mesmer depending on the situation. But for pugs, they are use to play with some bad player and their experience is Heavy = win, Light/Medium = wipe. So they prefer heavies.

Now if you want to talk about fractal, its a whole other thing. Fractal is the reflect paradise. 2 Guardians make the run far more easier, no because they are heavies. Only because of Wall of Reflection and to a lesser extend or shield of wrath. Take these two utilities and give them to a ranger and suddenly you gonna see a lot of post LF 2 Ranger for fractal.

The Longbow: Who does it best?

Usually in PvP the warrior can use the Hammer/Bow, but the Longbow is a sidearm for that.

I use a longbow on my ranger, but its for the cripple in a very specialist role.

Anyway, the ranger longbow still do great for dmg. You can focus enemies, downing them one by one in a fight, while keeping your distance. Its not the best setup, but if you use it right, the can be powerful.

It’s really easy to miss a part of the map. The map won’t be completetly reveal and you won’t see the heart. Check the counter on everymap and you should see if some of them miss some hear (even if you don’t see them on the map itself).

You need to account bound your skin to unlock them in your wardrobe, so when you use them to transmute a item, i’m pretty sure the item will become account bound too.

Well of course you are dependent on Conjure weapons. Its one of the strength of the Elementalist. But trust me the Cooldown you see is nothing. Of course is you play the elementalist badly and stick to one weapon, waiting for the cooldown, then you will have bad dps.

But when i’m attacking a boss (not the same strategy for all of them, but just to give you an idea).

- Attune to fire, fire field, stack 6 might on boss
- Attune to earth, stack 3 more might
- Arcane brillance and Arcane wave for 6 more might
- Attune to water, stack 3 more might
- Drop Ice Bow, use Skill 4 for a burst
- Drop Light Hammer, auto-attack.
- When i have 5 charge left, attune to fire, finish the LH charge
- Fire field, stack 15 might on fire and earth
- Take my second LH on the ground and auto-attack, switch to water ASAP.

You can maintain that rotation for ever, so you never have to wait for any cooldown. And you can add the FGS at strategic moment (usually i can use it 1 to 3 time in a dungeon).

There is also the Staff build, that does more DPS, but i don’t use it enough to remember the dmg per attack.

The thing is, you can’t just boost the loot table from mobs in the dungeon, while keeping everything else the same. This will simply boost the overall gain from doing dungeon and right now its at a good place.

If they boost loot tables from mobs, they need to decrease the reward at the end of the dungeon. That is pretty much going back in time, since we used to get silvers from each mini boss and no bonus chest at the end.

The problem that this cause is the possible farming of a path like with CoF path 1 back in the days. Back then, the main reward came from all these Legendary and Champion. I used to kill kholer everytime and even search for those gaveling champion in AC.

Maybe a good system that would encourage ppl to kill more of the mobs AND don’t allow farming 1 path would be something like that :

Remove the bonus chest and spread the reward between all the Legendary, Champion and Elite in each dungeon. So if you want to gain all the reward, its not about finishing the path as fast as possible with skipping everything, but its about completing the path. But the trick, which may be hard to code, would be to remove that bonus gold from monster after the first time you do the path each day. That way, skipping and farming the path won’t be as rewarding as it is now.

The part I don’t understand is, in the context of the above quote, is this: If you are a DPS warrior and get 2 shot if you fail to range or dodge properly, so you swap DPS attributes for toughness and vitality and still get 2 shot if you fail to range or dodge properly, can you even be “tanky”??? Can you meaningfully increase survival against PvE that way or are those attributes really only meaningful in PvP?

Defensive stats have an impact because you have more room. Every situation is different so it’s hard to put numbers of them, but here some exemple. Lets say there is 3 build. The first is full DPS, the second is full Defensive/Healing and the third is hybrid.

The first is full zerker gear and full DPS trait. It have almost no room for error. It depend on which profession, but 1, 2 or 3 shot and that’s the end. So you need to dodge about everything that is coming your way. The problem become more difficult when you figure out that you usually don’t have enough dodge for that and that its easy to waste a dodge. You usually need to go further than just dodging (evade, block, invulnerability, reflect, boons, etc). You also need to dps the boss as fast as possible because there is always some minor attack that you can’t evade. On some encounter that will kill you eventually, on most that will simply make your live much more difficult as the combat last more and more.

The second is full defensive (defensive trait and gear like clerics AH guardian). There is only a few of those out there right now, but they exist. You simply don’t want to play with more than 1-2 of those in your party of you run will take forever. They can facetank a big part of the content of gw2 if you have a full party of those and they support each other. Actually there is video about that kind of party and they disable their dodge button for the run. It was a troll video that last FOREVER but they made their point. You can facetank a lot, but it take a lot of time. If you have only 1 or 2 of those, they can’t facetank everything, but only to dodge once in a while. They are usually the last to die (but not always lol), but even when they do, they won’t be able to finish stuff most of the time because of the lack of DPS.

The third are hybrid. Full zerker gear, with defensive trait or offensive trait with knight/Valkyrie gear and things like that. They are the most numerous group of people pugging in the game. The strength of this build is against new content. Full dps have some problem against new problem since they need to have good basic knowledge of the encounter to survive. Its also great to learn, for ppl that just want a easier time in the game or people not good enough to run full DPS. You need skill and concentration to run full dps build, here you have a little room. You can take more beating that a full dps for almost everything, but you still have to dodge the biggest attack as they will probably still one shot or leave you really low. But these are only the big attack. For the most part, you have a way more easier time. Another problem come from high end fractal. At higher level of fractal, the mobs hit harder and harder, making less and less different between a full dps and a hybrid. At these level, you can be one or two shot by a lot of enemies. That leave you no other choice than to avoid most attacks if not all, even if you run a hybrid build. At that point, you are better with a full DPS build to make the fight as short as possible so you have less time to make an error that will get you kill.

These are the usual number i get from a casual run. Usually around 10-15 of each buff (might, bloodlust, vulnerability, etc).

Fiery Rush against a wall : 175-200k dmg
Fiery Rush without a wall, but still without target : 50k dmg
Fiery Whirl : 10-13K dmg
Ice Bow : 15-20k dmg (about 30k if all shards hit)
Light Hammer auto-attack : 14-18k for the full 3 attack sequence.

Keep in mind that these are number i remember in the moment and that my elementalist is not 100% complete. The actual number should be higher than that.

I never said 5 warriors was the optimal setup everywhere. 4 warriors and an ele, mesmer or thief probably is, depending on what content you are doing. For harder areas the more guardians you have the easier the content becomes in general. But I’m skeptical about claims of 5 dps eles or thieves outdamaging 5 dps warriors in PvE whilst having as much survivability or utility. We are talking about pugs here, not premades..

That’s the thing. 4 Warrior with someone things else is a pretty lazy setup. You can’t say, oh i’m talking about pugs here not premade group. Because pugs or not, 4 Warrior + something else is still a lazy, easy, but suboptimal group. We are not saying that it not a good group. I play with my guild and sometime we end up with 4 warrior, just because we all decided to take our warrior on that run. Its an easy run, we do a lot of damage, but its not our best run.

But to think that Warrior are the best at DPS and Surviability is a pug mentality that is toxic to the community. Even if you don’t kick people, spreading some lie like that, push stupid people into think that ya that true, warrior are op and everything else is bad so i’ll kick them all.

Why people changed their mind?

Fear, speculation and misinformation (or lack of it). Its a big update that will change a lot of stuff. And some important stuff that will change how people play. Its only a preview and Anet can’t put every information possible (even the patch notes won’t have all the information). When there is information lacking, there is always place for speculation and speculation is always a good place to imagine fear (real or not).

People think they deserve everything and can’t stand to see someone else with more. That’s not how life work. I can buy a ipad today and tomorrow it will be in sale at 50%. Well too bad for you, you won’t have a discount now.

Really? I know who gonna buy those unidentified dye.

People that are going for the Bifrost need then to craft the Gift of Color. Since you have less way to get them, more people will buy them.

People that already flip unidentified dye. You buy a bunch of them, open them all and make a profit by selling the dye. The price of unidentified dye are set by those who flip them on a massive scale. The price regulate itself, since those people stop being unidentified dyes when its not profitable anymore, this make a drop in demand for unidentified dye (so the price go down) and since there is less of these high price dye on the market (abyss, celestial, etc) then their price go up meaning that the flipping of unidentified dye become profitable again. And the circle restart again and again. That’s call economy.

Black Lion Chest and Dye Pack only give you Dye Pack. These Dye Pack once use give you a small number of dyes. It won’t give you unidentified dye like the one you need in the Gift of Color

For the Mystic forge. Its a PvP recipe that give you Account bound unidentified dye. These dye don’t stack with normal unidentified dye so even if they work for the gift of color (which i doudt because they use another ID), then you would need 250 of these account bound unidentifie dye, so you can really use that.

So you can only get unidentified dye from harvesting, loots and laurel merchant. With the loots being nerf (to which extend?), that don’t leave use with that much way to get unidentified dye.

Just to close this thing once for all.

Go check the video at 1:50 you will see the dev switching around dyes and only dyes. Once finish you can either click reset or apply and the cost is 0 transmutation charge.
You seem him change dyes so the question about the screenshot don’t apply here.

Mazreal Blacknight. Maybe you did do it because of today. But a lot of people did. At 10am East time (so about 3 hours ago) the price of most low prices dyes went from 2 silver up to 39 silver (right now its at 20-25 silver for most of them).

I won’t explain wtf is going on with that, its actually pretty simple. But i prefer not to explain just in case Anet accuse me of advertising an exploit. Don’t think it is an exploit, because if they didn’t saw that one coming, then there is some pretty stupid people working for Anet. Anyway, right now i suppose there is some profit that can be made, but the first people that did it could expect about 1150%+ profit (and ya i mean 1150%)

I don’t really follow.

Right now you have Beserker armor with a Skin.
After the patch you want to switch to soldier armor but keep the skin.
You get yourself a new Soldier Armor and use your wardrobe to transmute you old skin (that was unlocked) into your new Soldier Armor. It will cost you 6 Transmutation stone. You have now two armor with the same skin but two different stats (1 berserk and 1 soldier). WIth the Beserker gear, you can keep it or salvage it.

If you want to go back to berserker. Either to kept the original gear and you just have to switch. If you salvaged the gear. You need to buy a new berserker armor and do the same thing to transmute your skin to your new Berserker armor.

3rd February it was 583 Gold
23rd December it was 771 Gold
5th August it was 512 Gold
25th March it was 702 Gold

The price of precursor fluctuate a lot since there is always a limited amount of items. Yep the price got higher for the Spark. But the Legend stayed at the same price, the Colossus dropped of 20Gold, Dawn price is the same, etc.

It only need 1 person to place the precursor at a higher price or 1 sell to change drastically these price so don’t worry.

Changing dye won’t cost any charge. What you quote was about the preview, how now preview of dye will be much more precise since you can preview different dye on specific part of the armor. Not like right now that you preview a dye and they randomly preview it across your skin.

I’m pretty excited for the new wardrobe and account wide dye. But i’m worry about the number of unidentified dye available on the market, especially in the long term.

Just to be clear, i’m not talking about the Dye and color themselve. Even if they nerf the drops of dye from loots, they are still a lot of ways to get dye.

No i’m talking about ‘’Unidentified Dye’’ specifically. You can get dye from several ways : crafting, gem story, etc. But these don’t give you unidentified dyes, they give you dye pack or unidentified orange dye, etc.

The only way to get simple Unidentified Dye right now are from loots, harvesting and laurel. Hope they think about the Gift of Color when they will nerf how we get dye. Its one think to balance the drop since they will be account bound, but right the price for a gift of color skyrocket.

But if you equip sunrise and twilight, then craft eternity and sell it AFTER THE PATCH, the i guess that you would still keep sunrise and twilight unlocked. With woud be pretty OP. If that happen, i would consider that as a logic bug and they would eventually fix that. I’m pretty sure that Anet could view that as an exploit and possibly ban people for that, so i won’t try that with my legendaries lol.

That would be logic if you would get Transmutation Charge were we used to get transmutation stone and crystal. Anyway, by this time i have a stack of 200 transmutation stone and about 25 transmutation crystal. So i would get 91 transmutation charge. Enough for almost anything i could dream of transmute.

That mean that you will have the appearance of your Ascended gear and cultural norn pieces unlocked.

You will have all cultural pieces unlock, except if you transmuted twice on them. For exemple. You get the human cultural armor and transmute its apperance on an exotic armor, but then latter you transmute another apperance on your gear. Then you would not have the cultural armor unlocked (but who would do that lol).

If you deleted your cultural armors, then i suppose you won’t have them unlocked and you will need to buy them again if you wan the skin. But that i’m not sure.

On the equipement tab, you can either have the same inventory to the left and switch gear and items, but there a buttom on top to switch to the wardrobe to transmute only. So this only affect transmutation, not equipping different gear.

The nerf is about 10% for a regular player. But for a organized group that max mainly their Crit Dmg and Crit chance the nerf is between 15% and 25% (not the same for every profession and we are still not sure about the quantity of ferocity for food, utilities, skills, etc.

Anyway, i’m sure once the patch come live, we will only min-max our build differently so the nerf is not that bad. Usually, ppl that end up with a higher % of nerf, used a lot of precision buff, which i bet won’t be use much post-patch.

Because in most cases, taking 5 warriors IS the most efficient way to play, especially in PUG’s. Maybe 4 warriors and 1 guard/mes/ele/thief, depending on the content you are doing. But damage wise nothing beats 5 wars.

That is just so wrong lol. And that is exactly why people are complaining about HEAVIES EVERYWHERE.

See there is good players. That understand that every profession can bring something good to a party. They don’t get bias, they look at fact. Ok so I bring 4 warriors and 1 mesmer that give me a good dps and i runner dungeon faster. Oh but i can build my theif to make as much damage. But it don’t bring enough buff so you can only bring 1. Ok, but what about the Ele. If you focus on damage modifier, the elementalist can bring more DPS than a warrior. Ok good, and you can even build ele to bring crazy might and fury. So you need that much warrior.

See what the mentality of good player is. They don’t give a crap about the profession itself. Only what the profession can bring. You can be good with any profession. You can see a Lupi kill in 41s using 5 rangers. But still nood that will kick rangers without even knowing if the guy have a decent build or a is good, will kill lupi in range mode for about 10min.

The same kind of ppl will have bias all over them.

-I want full zerker (good player want good full DPS)
-I don’t want any ranger, necro or engie (good player don’t mind except if they do record run or if these player bring a bad build or are just bad player)
-STACK YOU NOOBS, faster aggro the CoE Champion wolf before Agent Spire come (good player will now how to use stack and when you better not to stack)
- Heavies are better gtfo with your light and medium (good player will usually have 1 warrior maybe 2, and guardian in some dungeon when support is needed)
- Warrior is the BEST dps of the game (good player know for about a year that its not true. Thief have a better single target DPS when the party can buff them, Ele have a better dps and can bring more Might and Fury, Guardian can have a little bit more dps, but only with Aegis on, which can be hard to maintain).

Dragonite Ore for Fractal Bosses

At the end of a Fractal Boss, ya that could work. But it need to be from the daily chest so you can only do it once a day. Maybe something like that.

21-30 : 5-15 Dragonites
31-40 : 10-20 Dragonites
41-50 : 15-25 Dragonites

That way, world boss stay a better way to get Dragonite, but someone that don’t like world boss can accumulate some dragonite.

But they should never give Dragonite at the end of a dungeon path. Dungeon give enough of stuff already, they don’t need a buff in reward.

Its not 10% per person its more like a 15-20% redution as seen here.
You can fanboyish believe whatever ANET says but I know better cuz in the past its been wrong many times.

To be fair. Its a 10% nerf for a Full DPS build without any boost. The higher you get by adding food, banners, signet, trait bonus, etc then you get more about 14-16% nerf. The problem is that all these buff don’t have any official numbers. We made guess to finish our math. These are mostly good guess, but still anet could have figure out that and don’t nerf these food, buff, etc and simply give the right amount of ferocity so they don’t nerf more than 10%. I doubt they will do that, but there is still a chance.

I’m doing between 25k to 35k with my warrior hundred blades. With my guild i can go between 40 and 60k, and you can even reach 80k if you max everything. Saw video of higher than that, but usually not on normal mobs.

I’m pretty sure i’ll maintain most of my Hundred blades over 20K even if the nerf is 15%, except when i’m not with a good party.

The nerf will decrease the critical dmg by about 30% (to equal a dps nerf of 10%).

Right now, power is better than precision except when you have high power and high crit dmg (like in high dps build of 3k power and 95%+ crit dmg). At this point, precision become more important and that why some mix and maxing is needed to max your DPS (like using 3 pieces of Assassin, sigil of perception, curry butternut squash, signet of fury, etc). I’m pretty sure that some of these will still be usefull, but a lot less than before. The exact math will need to be done when the real numbers are available (we only know what will come from gear, but not the numbers from foods, skills, trait, etc are all assumption. Even if some assumption are more likely).

The nerf is equal on everybody. I don’t think that a profession will more affected by this than the other. Its more about specific build. The DPS meta will change in subtle ways and we still don’t know everything about the balance and new trait (just a brief description, not all the info), but if you had a full berserk warrior, you won’t gonna have to change any of your gear. Maybe the power infusion could be better, but i think that you will still need to source of precision somewhere and not ALL POWER, so i’ll keep those if i was you.

Staff Skill Suggestions

1) Fire Skill 1 : NO WAY. You can already have constant fire field with the staff in fire. You could maintain about 18 stack of might FOR EVER with that. You already can put a good number of might and constant fury with the right build. Right now you have S/X Ele for Might stacking and Staff Ele for DPS. Your change would combine both build into a super build that can do pretty much everything DPS wise.
2) Earth Skill 1: Still not a good idea to put a blast finisher on auto-attack, but at least you need to switch attunement to stack might. Oh right, now you could have 1 ele in fire (for constant fire field) and 1 ele in earth (for constant fire blast). That scream OVERPOWER like crazy. But i agree that this skill need to modification, its weak right now.
3) Ice Spike could use some buff maybe, but not Blast finisher. OMG you really need to learn how to use combo field/finisher, we already have A LOT of them.

I’ll stick to the two build i use the most.

S/X + LH build and the Staff build.

The Staff build does higher dps and is easier to use, while the S/X + LH build give crazy might while not being too far being with the DPS.

I suggest to use the Staff build first. Why? Well with the S/X +LH build you have no place for any defensive skills (at least for most the time). You gonna use arcane brillance to blast (so very limited healing skill), while LH, Arcane Wave and Signet of Fire should take your 3 utilities slot. This is the ultimate squishy, especially since you gonna fight in melee range pretty much all the time.

The Staff on the other hand need to stay within 600 range to activate your 10% dmg modifier and be in range of most shout. Within 360 range to get blast finisher from other member of your party. So you have more room to move around, which like i said earlier, is one of the best defensive tool you have. Since this build don’t need LH, that free 1 utility slot for Arcane shield, a cantrip or a condi removal.

Why Do We Hate Rangers?

Ranger has poor dmg?
20k dmg with Rapid Fire in a legendary boss,4k crit with auto attack in most of the players in wvw(both without food or bloodlust stacks).You can build your ranger to not take any dmg for many seconds.
Ranger is my favourite class,played on it 1000+ hours and i can asure you many wars,ele etc. wish to have my dps.

And you think this are good DPS? Without food or bloodlust

Warrior
Hundred 25k and 35k.
Whirwind and Rush : 10K
Axe Auto-attack : 3-4K while i hit 3 time faster than your Bow.

Ele
Fiery Rush on wall : 200k
Fiery Whirl : 10k
LH auto-attack : 3-4k with the third hit for about 8k, and again i hit attack faster than your bow.

So ya, your bow do decent dmg. Except when you compare then to actual decent dmg. And if you max thing up, these numbers are even higher, hundred blade can do between 40 and 60K dmg in a good group setup and can reach up to 80k (only in perfect situation).

Would help a lot if we knew what game mode you are playing in with you zerker ele.I play only PvE with my zerker ele so I’ll speak for that.

Except if you are freaking good at it, you won’t be able to experiment new content with your toon. You need to know the dungeon like crazy before going in with a full DPS ele.

Since most full DPS ele, don’t even use much cantrip or defensive skills, its really hard to stay alive. Your best friend is your movement and placement. Don’t go first into a first or you’ll get targeted. I usually stay at 300 range for a couple of second while i’m stacking might, then go in the last with my LH.

Know when to place yourself. This is good advice for everybody, but on the ele you simply don’t have any choose if you want to survive. Stay behind the Golem at CoE, or move a bit around the pillar at the AC Spider, etc. The right movement can allow you to save a lot of dodge for when you really need it. If you stack and start DPSing or dodge as soon as you can without knowing the encounter well, you will die.

Use you skills. Fiery Greatsword is a really powerful Offensive weapons. But also a great defensive one. The skill 3 is free evade so use it at the right time to stay alive longer. You also have access to some interrupt like the Light Hammer. Use them at the right time to stop the boss from launching a big attack when you don’t have any more dodge.

The Ele can get a lot of survivability from his party. Aegis, Reflect, Blind, interrupt, etc. If you group is organized, you can time them well enough to make things a lot easier for everybody, especially for the ele.

While I understand that here needs to be some incentives for players to spend cash, and also maintain a level of ‘exclusivity’ for some items, they’re overdoing it IMO.

I really don’t agree with that. If more people want this item, the price will go up, if less people want it, then the price go down.

There is A LOT of cool option at low price. I know, i build a lot of my character like that. I didn’t put more than 20 Gold on my first character to get her look. You have dungeon armor that are cheap, you can buy several other skins for a couple of gold, not talking about lower level gear that you can get for less than a gold if you want the skin. While doing the map completion you usually have 2-3 pieces of an really cool looking exotic gear. Several good looking weapons skin don’t cost that much.

I’m an hardcore player. I have 8 toons, 3 legendarys, working on several ascendede armor, etc.

But yet, i was using the AC greatsword for almost a year on my main character.

Can someone explain stacking?

Stacking if used right is one of the most powerful stategy.

But like almost everything in any game. If something work, people will do it without knowing everything and eventually they will be in a group when most of the party if not all of it will do it without knowing why and really how do it. They will do what they do all the time, but this time there is no guardian to put aegis at the right moment, or noboby to pull the boss the rigth way, etc. And so the party will wipe and some member of the group will be mean. ‘’We wipe because of someone else, it can’t be me I did the same thing as i always do and it always work, so this must be some other people in the party that kitten it up. They are probably not full zerker, these kitten.’’

And usually this person is full zerker, but have a AH build or something like that and don’t really understand what meta is. They are great follower, but lack a lot of polish on their game.

For exemple. When you want to kill the champion wolf at CoE. You need to stack on the corner and wait for the NPC to aggro the champion. You need to check the ground below the npc, then the wolf will attack the will do a ice attack, then an attack that make crack on the ground. You need to aggro him right after that. That way he wasted his big blank point aoe and you aggro him right away so you can DPS him as much as possible before his next Blank point aoe. If you have enough DPS you will down him before he can do nothing else.

But some people that think they know dungeon and full zerker ftw, will either aggro him before he waste his AoE, so the party will probable wipe except like 1 or 2 that will rez everybody or they won’t see when the party don’t have enough DPS and they need to get out of stack before the next Blank Point AoE.

This problem is everywhere. People stack without knowing how you really doing it. Like at AC spider. Most people just stand there and DPS the boss. It work well, when you can down it in a couple of second. But if you can’t, you can time yourself and move around the pillar a little bit so you don’t stand in the spider big attack that immobilize you.

I assume it will be like Anerna said. If its the case, then someone using LH + Disc + Butternut Squash will gain 420 ferocity or 28% Crit Dmg. Right now the same person gain 30% Crit Dmg. But that big of a deal. Its a 6% nerf in Crit Dmg, which is about 2% damage nerf.

Mesmer and Thief are the TOP roamer (1vs1) right now. They are also both good in PvE.

Mesmer bring utilities to dungeon with average dmg.
Thief bring TOP single target dmg and stealth for skipping trash. But Thief are harder to play PvE than Mesmer are, so watch out.

Other than that. Warrior is in a good place for 1v1 and PvE dungeon.

Newbie: Only five attack skills?

Most profession have between 60 and 80 skills that you can unlock. But at any given time you can only have :

15 Skills (5 that you choose, 5 for you main weapon and 5 for you secondary weapons). Engineer can have up to 22 skills and Elementalist have access to 25 skills.

You can also switch weapons and skills between combat to fit the next encounter.

This system have pretty much the same amount of option as the usual MMO, but you only have access to a portion of these options during combat. Which force people to choose wisely what they bring and to make the most of what they got. This also bring the number of skills to a more manageable amount because keep in mind that this is an action MMO. You need to move around and dodge a lot more than the usual mmo. If you stand in place and focus on a long rotation of skills you gonna get your kitten kick. We usually have some dps rotation, but they are shorter and you need to break then to dodge an attack or to interrupt an enemy etc. Its a different gameplay, some people like it better, other prefer the usual system.

Always funny when you see post about someone complaining about the price of stuff on the TP. I want the that Toy mama. But this toy is too expensive for us baby. Take this one instead, you will have as much fun with this one and its in our budget. NO NO NO MAMA I WANT THAT TOY.

Opinions of Servers?

I’m from CD

HoD had massive transfer from WvW guild. During the first few days after the 18th they were everywhere, fulling every WvW maps and dominating the PPT. But they are unorganized as hell right now so we are farming HoD bags like crazy. They are still in advance over us by a good margin, but don’t think they gonna go up in rank that much (maybe 1-2 tier higher).

Crystal Desert is ok. We lost our biggest WvW guild, but this guild loved to play it solo, which was damaging for the overall CD community. We had enough transfer to replace the whole guild so we probably will stay in the same spot. The strengh of Crystal Desert is in our PvX guild. Small zerg of 15-25 ppl searching the map for zerg bursting.

NSP is similar in size compare to CD. But their main force is OS, a big kitten zerg that go for the PPT and a couple of roaming guild. Their roaming guilds are freaking annoying (aka they are good), but their big zerg only have numbers, not the most skilled and organized zerg.

Emry Bay is spinning toward the bottom of bronze league. They used to be a bit better than crystal desert back in the Season One, we had some really good fight against that server. But since then, they lost a big part of their wvw guild and they don’t seem to had recover yet. They dropped from Tier 4 to Tier 8 in the last 8 weeks.

Don’t know enough about the other server to comment.

If you like big numbers go at HoD
If you like zerg bursting go at CD
If you like roaming go at NSP

Maybe i got something wrong, but that’s my opinion. Feel free to correct me if you have another opinions about these server.

Celestial after the patch

tbh celestial was garbage to begin with. Celestial being a mind ground between defense and offense was a illusion because of the high crit dmg. But with the little amount of Power and Precision combine with good Crit damage Celestial had a tiny amount more dps than soldier with a lot less defense.

Crafting celestial was a bad choice before and it’s still a bad choice.
