The thing is you named your tread. the PERFECT all-around build. You didn’t say the Perfect Build or the Best DPS build, but still the two BEST thing a ranger can bring to a party is Frost Spirit and Spotter. The traits Vigorous Spirit and Spotter, with the Frost Spirit utility are minimal requirement for any build that have Perfect in from of them. Because these are the best thing the Ranger can bring to a party.
I go by Profession=Tank/Healer/build/traits. Class is Warrior/Guardian/Ranger. Anyways that’s besides the point.
Of course if you want to use your own words, that won’t help you communication well in the forums.
Profession is the official name for : Guardian, Warrior, Elementalist, etc. You can use also use the word class, it’s a synonym and everybody will understand you.
Tank/Healer just don’t exist in the game, so no need to have a word for it. But what you want to say is role. If you continue to use profession = role, nobody will be able to understand what you are trying to say.
Well if you upgrade the prototype (ascended), you get the beta. The beta is the infused version of the prototype (ascended). What you receive is the capacitor with two empty slot. The first slot is a infusion slot (offensive or defensive) and you can put any standard offensive or defensive infusion (like a +5 AR). The second infusion is a Agony Infusion Slot and you can only put the Agony Resistance that you get in +1 from fractals.
Olba. Right now on my Warrior i play GS and A/M and in my inventory i have :
- 1 GS and 1 Mace with bloodlust so i have stack my bloodlust.
- I have 1 GS and 1 Axe with sigil of Night for most dungeon
- I have 1 GS and 1 Axe with sigil of the undead for Arah
- I have 1 Mace with sigil of Battle for when my bloodlust if maxed.
I would also like to have 1 GS and 1 Axe with sigils of Force for CM, HotW or regular PvE, and for Fractal if i wanted to do fractal on my warrior(i use my guardian for that).
I have 3 GS, 2 Axe and 2 Mace for a good coverage of the sigils when i do speed clear. I would love to get eventually Twilight and Frostfang on my Warrior, but that would either decrease my dps (which is not a great idea when you speed clear) or i would have to only use these legendary from time to time when i need 1 particular sigil.
I’m aware it a 1st World problem. I’ll probably just not make any legendary for my warrior. But the legendary is suppose to be the ultimate weapon, after which you need no other weapons. It not about the cost, its not about having an advantage over someone without a legendary, its only about the convenience.
When i was a young innocent guardian I use to love the Signet. I was there with my math about how better the signet was. But then i entered the reality and switch ASAP to shelter after I kept dying because i can use the signet only once in a while. If you end up playing with a WvW raiding guild, shelter is even better.
Right now, with the boons, my AH, my teammates and well placed water field i rarely use my shelter to heal myself. Most of the time i use it to run out of a bad situation with on of the best block in the game. The block is so much more powerful that the superior healing that the signet give you, ESPECIALLY if you didn’t trait it.
Other than that. You have a good amount of Armor, but so little health. I prefer using the Soldier gear. You will rarely get the boost from the Rune of the shcolar in WvW, change that. I myself love the Rune of the Soldier for condition removal, Rune of Melandru for reduced condi duration or rune of Divinity for raw DPS.
I keep empowering might for PvE, here Two Handed mastery will make wonder since you use 2 two handed weapons. Glacial Heart if nice, but the cooldown is killing it (a 1-2sec Chill on a 8-12sec cooldown would be far superior. So for now you are better with Purity or Strength in Numbers.
Save Yourselves is good, but it can be a death sentences sometimes. Hold the lines is far more superior here. Of course if you have some problem with your mobility because you don’t have that much swiftness you could take the Traveler runes.
Sword full auto-attack chain does a little bit more dps than the mace. But it does it in 30% less time.
Also in trait the sword have access to a 10% dmg increase in a trait line that also give you good DPS trait with Precision and Condition Damage.
While on the other end the Mace only have access to a 5% dmg increase in a trait line that give you no other DPS increase.
With all that, the Sword have a good 50-60% more DPS than the Mace can give you. Or course the mace give you more support, so it can be a good weapon for some role in sPvP, but otherwise the Sword win without question.
I also use the 20/25/0/25/0.
20 in Marksmanship for Steady Focus and Spotter.
25 in Skirmishing for stats and Hunter’s tactics
25 in Nature Magic for Vigourous Spirits and Bountiful Hunter.
Two things that i still struggle to decide are
1) Strength of Spirit vs Spirit Unbound. Obviously Strength will give me more theorical DPS, but Spirit Unbound allow you to always have your spirit with you and don’t have to kill you spirit and recast them just before another fight. This way my spirit are ready before the fight and i can started attacking right away. Since i have Frost and Sun spirit with me that same me a lot of time and i can focus on the combat more. Also this make the Water Spirit seem less bad. I’m not sure yet, i’m only testing it right now, but it can heal quite a lot someone using FGS and i don’t have to waste time using a healing skill in the middle of the combat.
2) I never know what to use as my adept and master trait in the skirmish line. I usually go with trait I and II. But depending on our party we usually have plenty bleeding already, while the pets attack are not that great to begin with. Would be nice to have 2 good trait to take there and not only filler in order to gain the stats and 2 minor trait.
Having the goal to reach 100% critchance is usually stupid, the key behind a successful build is behind getting a nice balance between precision, critical damage and power. As for pure assassin vs berserker, usually pure assassin wins. There’s some things like bloodlust/perception stacks, power/precision food and power/precision signets you might have never heard of.
Well that’s not true. A ratio exist between the precision and power depending on your critical damage. How you gain that ratio is up to you. You can go full Zerker, have pts in the Power Trait line and then go get your precision from consumable and sigil of perception or you can have assassins armor and get power from consumable and sigil. But at that point you are really about min/maxing, which is the best? It change for each profession and each build so there is not definitive answer. Anyway with the incoming nerf a of people think that assassins won’t be as useful as it is now.
And this is why personally i never use the word full zerker, but rather full DPS. Zerker is only about the gear, not the build and don’t take into account assassins gear.
Dungeons : You should be able to complete most popular path in 15-20min. That include AC (All path), CM (1 and 3), TA (Up and Foward), SE (1 and 3) and CoF (1 and 2), HotW (Path 1) and CoE (All path). If you have a speed clear group you can drop the time to 10-15min.
- 4.5 to 7 Gold per hours (gold you directly get from the dungeon)
- All the material you get from the runs. If you sell them all you can get 1 to 3 Gold.
- If you find the recipes you can use you Dungeon token to make good amount of gold. If you don’t have recipes CoE, CoF and HotW Tokens can give you rare to salvage for ectos and the rest of dungeon token to buy exotic that you salvage with BL salvage kit for inscription. This can give you 1.5 to 3 Gold more gold.
In total Dungeon will give you between 7 to 13 Gold (10 Gold per hour is a pretty good average). And that don’t count exotic drop that occurs from time to time.
My group use :
-1 Staff Elementalist
-1 LH Elementalist
- 1 Warrior
The two last profession change depending on the dungeon.
- 1 Mesmer for their utilities
- 1 Warrior for pure DPS
- 1 Guardian for reflect and Aegis
We would also like to experiment with Thief and Rangers, but nobody want to put time on these toons right now. Maybe in the future.
We don’t use all the same build as Anierma.
- Warrior is 30/25/0/0/15
- LH Ele is 25/10/10/25/0 for burning and 10% Dmg on burning foe. Both build seem good anyways depending on your party.
I’m at 150%+ Magic Find right now and since i’m about 120-130% Magic Find i’m ‘’swimming in yellows’’ like Neoheart said. This was not a sudden change in drop, but i use to struggle to get all the ectos i needed, but right now i accumulate them faster that i use them. I also get more tier 6 crafting material.
Don’t know that Mordremoth is the last one. He’s just the last one that we have any inkling of knowledge about.
- Primordus awake in 1120 pushing the Asura to the surface while the Dwarves sacrificed themselves in the great ritual.
- Zhaitan was pretty obvious since he rise an entire continent and we killed him.
- Jormag awakening almost push the Norn to extinction and one of their Hero stole a Tooth of Jormag.
- Kralkatorrik awekening is as obvious as Zhaitan. He came out of a mountain in the Charr Homeland and left a branded scar across Ascalon in his way to Crystal Desert.
- Deep Sea Dragon is a little bit trickier. Matthew Dedina officially said on this very forum : ‘’the karka are recent arrivals to the surface from their original home deep in the ocean’’ and ‘’they avoided Orr for the same reasons they fled their home’‘. Basically saying, the Karka come from the Deep that they flee for the same reason they don’t go at Orr, because there is an Elder dragon there. Story from the Quaggan and the Largos also point to the awakening of a underwater dragon 50 years ago.
So yes Mordremoth was the only Dragon still asleep.
The point I was trying to make is that it shouldn’t be easy, even for the most experienced players, to run a full glass party. Perhaps ‘impossible’ might be a bit too far on the other side of the spectrum, but it should never be easier to run with 5 zerkers than with 1 or more non zerkers in a party.
Well it not easier to run 5 full DPS compare to non full DPS party. At some point my guild had 2 new member and we did Arah with them. They were two friend using their WvW build in PvE. One was tanky and the other was an ’’healer’’. They simply tank Lupicus, while the rest of us DPS him. It was funny to watch as i can’t last that long against Lupicus attack. The fight was freaking long, but it was the easier Lupi run i had in a long time. In one pug, I had a guy that tank Alpha that didn’t dodge or die once. You can see Arah Cleric run with the guys disabling the dodge button. Its easier without zerker. Zerker can go seriously wrong if you do too many mistake or if you don’t have the skill to back it up. But Zerker is way faster and if you know what you are doing, it become easy enough.
Exactly people don’t ask to change the rules of golf (or any other random sport) they either learn and get better or they find something different to pursue.
Wait a sec. Golf is a 800 years old sport that change over the course of his existence. The sport was perfected as technology, culture and needed evolve with it. The Golf have a goal and the sport evolve to get the best game possible around that goal.
Now GW2 is a 1 years old game that is not perfected at all yet. Direct Damage DPS and only Direct Damage DPS was not intended by Anet i’m sure. Why put Healing Power in the game if its useless? Why put Condition Damage if it only viable in sPvP and Roaming? Why Clerics? Why put these things in the game if there were INTENDED to be freaking bad? Anet was only trolling? Or its a better explanation that they screw up a couple things that they didn’t intended. After all they had to balance 3 Game modes at the same time, which is not that easy.
The core concept of the pve in this game is…
1. Everyone does dps.
2. Everyone provides support (differing in capabilities by class)
3. No one is forced to choose between DPS or Support.
4. If you choose to neglect DPS (clerics Boon duration mesmer) you are suboptimal. If you choose to ignore Support (5 sig warrior no banners in group) you are suboptimal. Everyone is at their best when they maximize their DPS while bringing as much party support as they are capable of.
You are 100% right. This is how the game should be played now. But since this wasn’t intended by Anet. They can either embrace, eliminate the useless stuff, refocusing the diverse build around that, etc.
Or (and they seem to go more toward that options, only at a really slop pace) they can rethink how support, condition damage, etc work right now in this game and change some mechanics of the game so it get back as it was intended.
Personnally, i think that the first option would be safer. I like the current gameplay and the first option would only reinforce it while giving more depth in it.
The Second option would be more risky since they can really kitten the game pretty bad. But it’s correctly done, this could be make a better game.
The whole plot made no sense anyway. Now we got a dragon noone cared before he was artificially put in the game (lore wut).
Yay, I for one would have prefered some more lore relevant stuff but hey, ANet stopped caring about the lore the day they introduced the LS…
Mordremoth have roots deep into GW1 lore. Its not because you don’t see it that its not there.
Just let me gets some things strait. I love the full DPS meta. I make guild speed clear all the time and without pushing people toward it i always advice people to go more toward full DPS build if they can play it. My guardian went from full Clerics to AH build to full DPS build before finally being a WvW toons. I have 7 characters and they most of them are freaking nice to play. I’m not either saying that full DPS character have no utilities or support, usually full DPS players are also better at Supporting than Support build (simply because they are usually better player). I not either saying that this ruin the game and the game is nob bad mechanics and players using abuse to skip through everything.
The only thing I’m saying is : Hey currently, only DPS build are efficient. I can play whatever role i want, but that would only make my character weaker overall. Would it be nice if more diverse role would be good too? I would like that Condition Damage have a role. Like Direct Damage is better against Veteran and Elite, but Condition is Better against Champion and Legendary? The Triple Wurm fight is great because most people have a role. The Condi Team take care of Husk, while the Reflect team take care of the eggs, the Power Team take care of the wurms, etc.
If they make support more relying on build and gear, you could achieve a better balance between DPS and Support build.
And why, pray tell, would anyone want that? Are you absolutely sure that state of affairs (LF1m Supported Geared Guardian) is better than what we have now? It’s different yes, but I would say you could not prove to me that it would be more fun or better. Therefore it would simply be changing for the sake of change, which is among the worst reasons to change things, especially when the current state of affairs is working as intended.
Well of course if they change Full DPS superiority for Full Support superiority that will change nothing. I’m really not sure what change would allow the best result, but right now a support or condition damage build are really bad. When i started the game (which i love btw), i wanted to create my Guardian to be Support, my Engineer to be Range DPS, my Elementalist to be Condition and my Warrior to be melee DPS. That ways i can play different role. But right now my Guardian, Warrior, Elementalist and Mesmer are all melee DPS. They all bring different gameplay and that nice, but they bring the same primary role.
Without getting into the Trinity, that would be nice if different build would be efficient.
I think you’re missing the point. The fact is that hardcore pve in this game has been reduced to players using bad game mechanics(bad mob/boss mechanics and fgs stacking) to rush through dungeons. I think its also sad because I dont think the players are bad but I think the content offered is so easy(besides liadri which was certainly more difficult and fun and felt rewarding upon completion) that players are forced to make up new ways to make it challenging. Make liadri difficulty 5 man instances and that would be pretty cool.
Well most player will agree (especially speed clearer) that more difficult content will be more than welcome. But player will always find way to make the run shorter, what you call ‘’been reduced to players using bad game mechanics(bad mob/boss mechanics and fgs stacking) to rush through dungeons’’ I call that using all the available tools to make the best and more efficient run you can possibly do. I enjoy doing that and i know i’m not alone. You can dislike it, but don’t be condescending about it. Anet can toss everything they can at the players, eventually they will find a way to speed clear through it and its not a bad things, its something that some people like to do.
I would love more difficult content, they can ’’fix’’ FGS, they can fix the unbalance between Direct Damage, Support and Condition Damage, they can fix mobs intelligence, they can do everything they can. Speed Clear will still exist and people will still see these video and think kitten this content is so freaking easy, that need to be fix.
I challenge you sooo much to run on a Glass Canon Elementalist with me and tell me if this is ‘’just so freaking easy with FGS rush that need no skill’’. That would be fun. I had such a good time trying to figure out how to play that one, so hard at the beginning lol. I had a great (and frustrating) time.
The problem is not Full DPS build, the problem is that any other role are simply broken.
Support exist and fill a great role, but the vast majority of important support are basic support that need nothing from trait or gear. Meaning that the important support can come from a full DPS build. Even full DPS build have some support trait like on the guardian that use trait like Master of Consecration. But these trait are worth having, while most support trait and all support gear stats are near useless. You will need reflect in a Full DPS group, but you won’t need additional healing.
If the game make the Support useful, then more Support build will exist.
Support is already super useful. This is why people run guardians and mesmers and eles.
I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear. Right now basic DPS is kitten, you need to have a build and gear to have good DPS. But basic support is super powerful, with build and gear being able to only boost them a bit. There are not on equal ground, the best build is DPS Build and Gear with the basic support. If they make support more relying on build and gear, you could achieve a better balance between DPS and Support build.
You fell under the same presumption he did. That has nothing to do with your gear. That’s you doing that. You could have no armour on and still know how to stack vulnerabilities and might.
Using gear as ANY form of ANY merit just makes me think the WoW outcasts that couldn’t quite cut it have finally found their new home.
I didn’t felt under any presumption. I specifically said, its not about the gear, its only because good player use good utilities and use full DPS. That is why USUALLY full DPS also bring the best utilities. Not because they are full DPS, but because they are good players. So why said that i felt under the same presumption?
Alright then, toss them zerker Warriors with GS & A/A in a pit with a champ (Mario platforms), what do you get? Them running for dear life and 0 damage, “but but, it works on a dummy and in zergs
I can hit for a million damage I tell you”.
This is exactly what happen during the marionette. People were toss in a pit to fight some champion. I was on my full DPS build and had no problem, while some people in defensive gear die. But again here its not because of the gear or trait. Its about the skill of the player and the knowledge of the fight.
I remember a few weeks ago in AC we had a Warrior in a party 2,5K AP and already with a Legendary, full zerker no doubt.
You know what he did in the run? Dead most of the time (not joking, he wasn’t lasting 15 second on any boss) and the entire time nagging on /p chat to get a guy that was level 78 kicked, a guy that by the way was alive and well.
You gotta love the full zerker mentality, “I only died because you weren’t doing enough damage”, so now other players have to baby sit you? What happened to each players takes care of himself and is responsible for his survivability?
Two things here. You need more skill and knowledge if you gonna play full DPS. You need to know what to do in each encounter to survive because if you just stand there you gonna die. Not everybody should go full DPS and usually a couple of knight pieces of armor will make you a better player. Because its true a dead DPS is no dps. If you can have the biggest DPS and stay alive then good for you. But don’t stay full DPS if you can’t stay up.
Also, what the guys said is partially right. Some strategy only work if the party does enough DPS. If the party don’t do enough DPS, full DPS player will die even if they are freaking good. The point where the guys was wrong is to put that on the other member of the party. It was his job to figure out that the party didn’t had enough DPS and he should had use another strategy. Full DPS only work if you know what you do and have the skill to back up your lack of defense.
Here a list of the best (currently) for each categories. Keep in mind that all profession can do a fantastic job in each of them if they are well played and that you can do a terrible job even with the best profession. The build and the player skill are way stronger than the actual profession.
Dungeons: Warrior, Elementalist are the best for that. 1 Mesmer bring some powerful utilities, but you only want 1 per party. Guardian is also really good when you need to bring reflect or Aegis.
Fractals: Guardian and Thief can change completely a Fractal run with their reflect, boons and stealth. Other than that the usual dungeon profession do quit good too (Mesmer, Warrior, Elementalist).
WVW Roaming: Mesmer and Thief. Some also say Warrior and yes they can be good, but I fear way more a good Mesmer or Thief.
WVW Zerg: Guardian, Warrior, Elementalist and Necromancer. Mesmer and Thief can also bring specific abilities for organized group, but in really small number.
General PVE: Any profession with map completion or at least most Waypoint if you mean Guild Mission. Otherwise any professions do the job here anyway.
If i could give this thread a -1 i would.
“3 non-zerk and we seriously think about just leaving and starting recruit over again — too much work to carry 3x leeches.”
non zerks are “leeches”……….nice…
Considering they do less dmg and bring less utility, yes, they are leeches.
You heard it here first. Berserker gear brings “utility.” Five signet warrior brings the biggest utility EVER!
This is why I don’t pug.
Well in a good full zerker group i always have 25 Might, 25 Vulnerability, constant fury, banner of strenght and discipline, usually have reflect or Aegis at the right time, boons at the rigth time, etc. Its not that full DPS build bring more utilities, its just that when you get better at the game you finish by going for a full DPS build because they perform better. And if you a better player you gonna use your utilities more efficiently.
Full DPS usually have less utilities, but good player use only the best utilities and use them better (and they also usually have full DPS build, because its better).
The thing about zerk is it doesnt really take any talent and just displays bad pve in the game I think. If you actually watch runs of official hardcore pve guilds (#lolhardcorepve), its pretty much full zerk with eles and fireswords, stacking a boss, timewarping, finished. Im actually embarassed as a player to see that in game as hardcore pve and id be embarassed to show my friends joining gw2 that this is hardcore pve. Hardcore pve should be hours of practice by a group of dedicated people to practice mechanics, positioning, build coordination, to kill a boss. Not skip 80% of the mobs and firesword the 2 bosses in the instance just to get done with your dungeon as quick as possible. I am glad they are nerfing zerk a tad and im sure future bosses will be designed to prevent zerk.
We have already seen that in today’s update that has the watchknights hit extremely hard(event to tanky people) at melee range. Thats not necessarily nerfing zerk but it is nerfing zerk warriors who go with hundred blades, stack 25 vulnerability and might, then hundred blades the enemy for 50k.
I think its hypocrite of you since you don’t really play PvE that often. For doing full Zerker run with my guild, this took a lot of training and adaptation to be able to make these runs smoothly. And we took a lot of information from the speed runner before us, so i have a huge respect for them that find all those tricks, builds, fighting strategy, etc. Keep in mind that a lot of people are saying the same thing you just did about WvW, that its no skills you just zerg everything and that all. So if you believe that these people are not right, then maybe you can be wrong about Hardcore PvE and the ’’lack’’ of skill needed.
Its not that the Torch is not good, its that it just don’t add anything special. The first skill burn enemies, wow the guardian burn each 5 attack and in a party of 5 you probably always have almost constant fire. It help in solo play, but most of the game people play in group its a MMO after all not a single player RPG. The second skill is a condi removal. This can be useful if you didn’t took any condi removal in your build, but i tend to so condition like direct attack. I prefer dodge them and don’t rely too much on condi removal.
I agree to an extent.
War ‘unfairness’ is very often offset by diffirences in technology, culture, training, stratergy of generals/command. In this case it’s not really true because much of the above are not present in any meaningful way.
But they do exist.
- Technology : Its not only Exotic vs Ascended. Its also about nourishment, food, sigil, runes, build, etc. All of them can give you an advantage over your enemy not just ascended. I’m in exotic armor with ascended trinket for WvW. If i change my armor/weapons to ascended that give me 6% more Effective Power and 1.5% more EHP. But if i keep my exotic and buff myself to the max, i get 112.5% more Effective Power. Of course someone that buff itself and use ascended will have even better stats, but just so you keep in perceptive that keep your bloodlust max, using good food/nourishment, coordinating with your group for maximum might/fury, etc will give you a way bigger advantage.
- Training : Well of course this exist. Someone who have experience and know how his groups of player work together will do a big difference.
- Stategy of Commander : This is tricky, because this apply partially with pugs commander while its totally true with guild commander. I saw some Pugs commander using strategic movement to take the enemy with its pants down, or putting some defensive siege at the right place to change the battle, but he’s limited by the facts that pugs just losely follow him. He can help his group with good pre battle positioning and timing, but in the middle of the battle he have limited influence if nobody stay near him to focus damage. For guild commander that have a organized group, then stategy and tactics is a big part of his jobs. Moving his zerg out of high damage zone and creating focusing his zerg’s own dps.
Its Mordremoth for sure. Its also make total sense with the lore. Just as Sylvari as Mordremoth minions make total sense.
- Ronan a human Soldier discovered a seed in a cave guarded by plant monster. He bring it to his home destroyed by the Mursaat 250 years ago. He decided to plant it and nurse it with the help of a new friend, the Centaur Ventari. They both influenced the growing Pale Tree with Human and Centaur philosophy until the Pale Tree began to grow Sylvari.
- In GW2 we Capture the Sylvari Malyck and we bring him to a Sylvari Seer that say that he’s not born from the Pale Tree, but another tree. This Malyck is from the Nightmare Court. He claim to have no knowledge of the ’’Dream’’ and Traherne think that maybe the second tree have no dream.
- The Nightmare court is a group of Sylvari that reject the Ventari Table (AKA the Human/Centaur philosophy that Ronan and Ventari gave to the Pale Tree).
For me its all clear that these seed that Ronan found was the to create an army of Sylvari, an army of Modremoth minions. The only reasons, why some sylvari are not minions of the dragon right now is because of the Dream. The Pale tree was corrupt by the teaching of Ronan and Ventari and the Pale Tree decide to protect her children from the influence of the Dragon. The nightmare court mission is to remove the protection of the Dream so that all Sylvari fall under the influence of the Dragon.
If the game make the Support useful, then more Support build will exist.
The content seem pretty thin. 6 Different champions to slay and 3 Legendary Knight events. Maybe these are all good unique fight, but I’m pretty sure that they will be regular fight against regular enemy with a new looks and fancy name. I’ll have to wait a couple of hours before i can try them.
Nothing super exciting about the reward. The Tormented weapons looks nice, i may buy one in the TP if the price are not the 100-200 Gold range. Maybe the new Helm will be nice, who know.
The minis and finisher is pretty standard, nothing much to say about them until we seem them.
Making sure that the Triple Wurm and Tequalt don’t spawn at the same time is a good things. Small improvement, but a good one.
For now i’m a little disappointed in regard to the content that seem really small for the last update. We don’t seem to fight Scarlet or get any answer yet. I’m hoping that in 2 weeks in won’t simply have a small cinematic and nothing else, because that would be terrible.
This is the official source :

But its a rather long video and these devs are not the best at communication lol. You can read the resume on Dulfy, its really good and will give you the key information.

“How come Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have something similar?”
GW2 don’t use that system because it was the point of GW2 not to use it. Its the usual MMO system that all MMO use. This system have some pros and cons and GW2 tried to give a better system than the Trinity. It was an half success. Its way easier to create a party, you can pretty much play with whatever profession you want, everybody is to blame so no more ‘’Healer WTF you didn’t heal me’’. But at the same time, the game end up with 1 role ‘’Direct Damage Melee DPS’’ and everythings else is sub-optimal in PvE. Some prefer the trinity, but the Trinity is old system that is as improve as it can be, and won’t evolve much more in the future. The GW2 system have huge flaw, but people still see numerous ways to improve it, which is a good sign.
Why are the Dungeons so simple to the point where no defense is necessary to complete? Why is it that one profession, or one build, complete Dungeons almost effortlessly?
That’s not totally true. No passive defense is needed to complete it. You use active defense to survive aka dodge, evade, invulnerability, block, etc. You can’t face tank a dungeon if you are in full DPS. When i play with my guildmates we are doing full DPS run and i can tell you that with pugs i rarely see full DPS group. You can have 1, 2 or even 3 full DPS, but its rare that you see more than that. Most people do dungeon with a mix of DPS and Hybrid, which make things easier, but longer. Not that many people can actually run full DPS except maybe on Warrior. On the forum here you have the impression that everybody is saying full DPS all the ways, but like i said i see way more hybrid than full DPS build when i pugs.
What Belzebu said is right. I’ll add that Anet is also working on a way to keep celestial viable. Because if they simply use the same system on celestial stats, that will destroy the gear since they have small amount of stats and high amount of crit damage.
at the end of the 4th fractal
Who shouldn’t get reward for the civilian the op saves?
- Heirloom Farmer? They are kind of after the same thing you are. Most of them (I was one of the, but now i have both potion) help saving civilians right after they finish the run to get more heirlooms.
- Event or kills farmer? They clear the ways for civilians and each event count toward the total saved civilians.
Why make that post? Really. This been done over and over with way more complete post. This is getting old.
how about farmers like me? ;_;
Then you’re playing the wrong game and you have my condolences.
Lol good one. But even farmer like you don’t gamble. You find a spot where you can get a good amount of gold per hours and you don’t farm it too much so you don’t get into the DR. But personally, farming in this game is both boring and is a really bad way to gain gold. I don’t know all farming spot and some can be profitable, but they are really rare.
8-12 g an hour farm is a bad way to make gold?
>____>
I didn’t say that. There is so many things that can be farmed and several ways to farm each items. From time to time i found a good farming spot, use it for a while then stop when the spot became less profitable, but i never enjoyed that. Right now, dungeon run are so profitable and way more fun (for me) so i stick with that when i want to make gold. I’m sure there is a lot of spot where you can do a lot of gold farming them, but most of them don’t get you 8-12g for long time, because as more people figure out about the spot, it become more and more exploited and the price drop. I used to farm Charged and Onyx Lodestone when they selling between 2,5 and 4 Gold each, but that time is long gone.

Yup i’m with Purple Miku and Lilith on that. A really nice skins, but the stats is useless in any situation. Healing power scale really badly and its the worst stats of the game by far. If you don’t care about that, then use if on whatever you want it won’t change a things. If you don’t want to transmute it, then still use to for the skin, but keep the stats. If you find that the best looking white ascended weapons is the greatsword, then use it for that. If you find that the staff is so cool, then use it for that. All profession are bad equally with clerics.
Hey a little information, but don’t spread it.
People with a lot of gold NEVER GAMBLE.
- People with a lot of gold for playing the game? Get freaking good at dungeon speed run and you will get about 10 gold per hours.
- People that play the T.P.? They looks at numbers and figure out what will be the best investment. They can be wrong, but its never pure gamble.
- People that get several precursor from the Mystic Forge? They use massive amount of gold so they get a average return and set the price of the precursor on the market so they keep getting profit.
If you try a gamble to get more gold ,you are doing it wrong.
Keep in mind that the popluation of you server that play in the same hours as you do is usually small. If you play for some time, you will notice that you often bump into the same person all the time. So each server at a certain time zone will always have the same thousand or so players (depending on which server and which hours you play). This is a small enough numbers that you can find a concentration of trolls on a particular server/time zone. Having a guild help, because a lot of people don’t really respond in the map chat, but will help you if you are in the same guild. I consider myself helpful, but i won’t always respond in the map chat for several reason : i’m busy, i didn’t saw the map chat, i didn’t really care about that particular subject, i’m not sure what to answer or i just don’t feel like it at that moment. But on the guild chat, i’ll always answer. Overall in my server, crystal desert, i had a lot more good situation than bad ones on the map chat. Even when people were trolling it was nice, respectful and this end up in several minutes of fun for everybody.
Torch and Shield are bad weapons for pretty much everything in the game. Shield is only good for nodes protection in sPvP and to push people off a cliff in WvW. Torch is good nowhere.
PvE : Greatsword, Sword, Focus, Scepter are kings, with Staff, Hammer being good in some circumstance.
WvW : Hammer, Staff, Greastsword are the best, with Scepter, Focus and Shield good in some situation.
Keep in mind that this is in general. Some build can take advantage of some weapons i didn’t mention and in the end it also about what you like to play. Also i’m not talking about sPvP because i’m not playing enough in that mode.
Healing Power affect regeneration.
130 + (0.125 * Healing Power) per second (At level 80). But at the beginning of the game, my friend and I found out that regen was affected by the Healing Power of the person on which the Regen boons was and not the person that created the boons. So if you have high Healing Power and put regen on a friend that have no healing power. The regen on him won’t heal him as strongly as it will heal you.
But a little advice. NEVER go for healing power. This is the worst broken stat in the game. We have so powerful healing at the base and healing power scale really bad to boost that heal in so small amount. Power, Precision, Crit Dmg, Toughness, Vitality and Condition Damage are all better stats, that will help you more.
Living Story events last for a month. The patch on March 4th will last for 2 weeks coinciding with the remainder of the original month’s Living Story update.
Why is this still a question?
You have no way of knowing that. Ya most of the time, that how it worked. But the meta for Fractured AND EotM lasted only 2 weeks. Anet could do anything in the next weeks. Maybe, that they will change L.A. map so the Lion Guard assault it an retake the City, by this time all citizen had been rescued and you can’t finish the same events. Maybe the L.A. map won’t be change and that we will need to go inside the big drill in an instanced for the last Living Story.
Maybe it will finish 2 weeks after the last Living Story update, but then want will L.A. looks like? They can’t simply get it back the way it was. Will they simply erase all event while not changing anything in the map layout? Will they wait until the 18th March to change L.A. into a semi-permanent ruined city without the current events, while the drill instance could still be reachable until 1st April (so the last Living Story last 1 months like most of them), or the last Living Story content will only be accessible for 2 weeks?
They can do a lot of things and we don’t know right now.
Just for clarity (and get the word out there):
Celestial gear will not be nerfed.
There has been a lengthy discussion about it that resulted in a dev stating they were aware of it and would buff celestial’s other stats to make sure it wouldn’t be affected by the critical nerf.
Yup people should stop saying that Celestial will be nerf down. The devs only said that critical dmg will be transfer into ferocity. Now people take this information and asked (with reason) hey if ferocity will have the same stats on celestial, then it will be pretty bad. But it was only a question, that Anet responded by saying that they know that and are working on it so celestial won’t be useless after the patch. It’s ok to say, wait after the path to be sure what will be the position of celestial, but not to say that celestial will be nerf.
That said, for me celestial stats is just so bad already, because Power is so important and celestial have so little of it. For most profession and build, full celestial gear will always have really similar damage as a full Soldier gear, while having 20% less survivability. Even against a full Cleric set, the Celestial will only have an advantage of 8% more damage. Celestial can be good, but most of the time other gear will do the job better.
I don’t care much about ascended fractals gear, how long does it take to complete 1 full fractal in average?
It depend a lot on your party (if they are good and know well the fractals), on your luck (do you get easy fractal or the harder one) and finally it depend on your level. It can range from 30min to 3-4 hours. With a good group you should always take 45min-1.5 hour to complete pretty much any level.
Keep in mind that the higher fractal level you have the higher the reward will be in Fractal Relics and in Karma. The best reward for those you will get them if you are level 50 and you are doing level 40. So if you don’t plan on going that high in fractal, maybe that fractal is not the best option for you to get obsidian shards.
The necro have access to great Exotic skins, but for the Legendary is a bit harder. The focus Adam, the Scepter Eye of Rodgort or Lidless Eye, and the Staffs Final Rest, Deathwish or The Crossing. They all fit much better the Necromancer than most legendary. Which is a shame. I hope the Necromancer will get a bit of love in the next batch of legendary weapons.
1) Rebalancing of role and stats so not only DPS full Beserk is good in PvE, but also Support, and condition damage. And that each one have a specific role so we don’t end up with 1 superior kind of build. Exemple : Condition is better against big boss with a lot of hp, but direct damage is better against normal mobs. So a mix of the two would always be better.
2) Rebalance of WvW so that everybody can fight against a number similar to them and not fight against a zerg of 50 while you only have 10 in the map.
3) Hard Mode of each dungeon to have a better PvE end game. Mode in which you absolutely need to have a orgnanized group and buff yourself to the max if you want to be able to complete it.
4) A lot more ways to get ascended with similar price from one way to the other (not 12 Commendation or 35 Laurels and 40 Ectos for exemple).
5) Make more things to do in more maps. Right now everybody is in Queensdale, Frostgorges Sound, Genderran Field, the maps where a dungeon is, etc. Who go to brisband Wildlands except for map completion or Guild Missions?
Just some additional info :
1) When you links you GW1 account it only take the Statues you unlock in Eyes of the North and these statues are transferred into Hall of Monuments pts. The more pts you get and the more free and unique stuff you can get (Armor, Weapons, Minis, Pets and Titles)
2) You need to be level 80 to complete the last 2 or 3 quest of your story lines. But if you only do story lines you won’t have enough Xp to get to level 80. Don’t worry so much other things to do that you will be level 80 way before you finish your quest. I was still at the level 54 quest, the first time i reached 80.
3) You’ll get trait pts automatically, but you won’t be able to spend them. You need to go talk to a trainer and buy one of the 3 Books. The first book (cost 10 silver at level 11) unlock adapt trait, the second (cost 1 gold at level 40) unlock master trait and the third (cost 2 Gold at level 60) unlock Grandmaster trait.
Skathe you could try the Meta Staff Ele. I say that because you seem to love range attack (Ranger Longow, Warrior Rifle). Those two are bad, but the Staff Ele is one of the best range DPS. Also the Meta Staff need you to stay in Fire most of the time, which would be good for you since you say that you hate switching attunement.
The build is 30/10/10/10/10 or 30/20/10/10/0. Usually it come with full Zerker gear, but you can trow some knight armor or Valkyrie trinkets if you want a bit more defense.
On my zerging guardian I have 3100 attack, 19k hp and 2900 Armor without any buff. And there is many better build than mine.
3100 attack without any buffs is really high and you should consider adding some precision and critical damage for extra damage output, I’m assuming full Soldier’s?
Yeah, while that’s high it becomes way too high when you actually consider some might&Bloodlust&Guard stacks, and Nourishment.
Sorry its 3000 attack, i had some might when i check it out the last time. But still 2000 power is not that high. The math was already done for that btw. Right now i have 69% Crit damage and 25% crit chance. I would need 2375 power before precision would become more important over power. That mean that i have still have room for 375 power. You got a point i use lemonglass food, maintenance oil and perception sigil. Fully buffed that give me 2955 power and 1795 precision. I would need 3100 power before precision would be better so my build is balance in that regard.
