We have about 200 ppl in our guild and it seem that ppl get Unknown if its been more than 3 months (the last ppl with a date is like 2 month and 19 days.

Do I don’t know if people are automatically unknown after 3 months or its just because its been about 3 months since they started to track this time. Well see if in like in 2 week i have ppl that been offline since 3 months and a couple days, then its probably the second hypothesis.

Will You Be Playing GW2 Less Post Patch ?

I’ll be playing more probably.

1) Use to play a fair amount of time in WvW on several character. Its nice to have my WvW level unlock account wide.
2) Like to do dungeon with my friend, and i’ll continue to do so. Nothing really changed there.
3) I always love sPvP, but in my guild we were only 2-3 ppl playing in this game mode. Now, with the new reward system, a lot of my friend want to play more sPvP, which is nice. Its also nice to have better reward, when playing in sPvP. Reward that can be use in PvE, WvW or sPvP.
4) I’m a completionist. That freaking stupid some time and I know i waste a lot of time for no apparent reason, but I like doing that. I know I’m gonna spend so much gold and time to get as much skins to fill up my Wardrobe, and that I’m gonna LOVE that.
5) The schedule for the lesser to moderate World Boss will help me to setup better World Boss Train for my guild and anybody that want to follow.

But I’m not totally blind. I happen to love the stuff that anet made better, but no really care about the stuff that Anet just broke. Never was interested into Town Clothes, but I would be kitten off if I was. I do Teq, Triple Wurm and Karka Queen on a regular basis and I’ll probably will be able to do Teq and Karka queen during the weekend more easily, but I will only have 1 chance to kill those with my schedule, and with the price of the consumable to spawn them, I think its just ridiculous. Even if I did a bit of champ train, I always hate doing that, but that doesn’t mean that other ppl should stop doing that just because I don’t want to do it. And a lot of little stuff are just irritating. Like the fact that you can’t just transmute your Runes from one gear to another, the fact that boons duration Rune are almost useless now, awkward trait selection where you have to go from left to right to select each of you trait, a really basic and cheap UI to select bettween Equipment, Wardrobe and Dye, the fact that you can’t preview Dye from the Wardrobe in your bank when you want to preview armor that you don’t have yet (you can do it with skin that you already have, not those that you may want), etc.

Overall, for me this patch was a good things, but a lot of people get screwed over by it and its just sad, because most of these are change that wasn’t necessary AT ALL. They did good and bad change and I hope are figure out, which change were bad and work hard to fix them. Because right now, Anet made angry a good proportion of the player base (even if I’m not one of those personally, only because the bad change don’t affect my the way I play).

Mysctic. First its not because you open 28 achievement chests that you will have 140+ skins. You may receive skin that you already have. But anyway that,s not the point.

The point is you need to enter Heart of the Mist in order to unlock all theses skins. Don’t just join a match, you actually need to enter Heart of the Mists.

Ok, I was optimistic before, but now Anet did a really bad thing. The cost to spawn a world boss is SO FREAKING HUGE. I could understand this cost if they keep the old spawn time for Teq, Karka and Triple Wurm, but with the reduce number of spawn and that hideous cost, this is bullkitten. I defended the system in this post several times, but that this cost is just stupid. kitten .

If she didn’t store her skin and she couldn’t use the free transmute, then she should post a tickets to Anet because that’s a bug. The pieces of my Phalanx armor and my fractal weapons still work perfectly. I don’t need charge to use them the first time.

You ask some guild to spawn the Tequatl for you but they want to squeeze 20 people on the run. Period.
What will you do? tell 20 people from your guild “sorry guys, you can’t join”? Don’t be ridiculous.

Well, if your guild was of 170 ppl that want to do Teq, then you already have to tell 20 of them that they can’t make it. But it wasn’t my point. My point was in TTS there is enough ppl coming from guild to organized ourselves. Lets say that TTS organize the 3 main Tequalt kill (the 3 standards one post path). But then they as for people inside the TTS guild and that are officer from a main guild and will be willing to spawn more Tequalt. I’m sure there will be a couple guild that will join in that. I can only speak to myself and we will have to see how much will cost (and especially how long to build) these consumable. If their cost is similar to the other consumable, even my 50-60 ppl guild will be able to create about 3-4 of these consumable per week wihtout intefering with anything the guild usually does. In total in my guild there is maybe 10 ppl per week that does Teq or Triple Wurm. We could easily start Tequalt 2-4 times per week, with only 2-3 of our members participating, leaving a lot of space for everybody else to join from TTS. Now i’m pretty sure that from the thousands of ppl from TTS, there will be a couple guild that would be willing to do the same, enough for how much Tequalt per week? I don’t know.

Oh, but we are smart! lets split into 2 groups, one main, one overflow! we have enough people to do that! And now plot twist: who gave you the smallest idea that using consumable to spawn Tequatl on Main Server will automatically spawn it on every instance created afterwards? (not to mention splitting creates confusion, you might not have enough commanders and it obviously decreases your chances of success)

I’m pretty sure that the consumable will only spawn Teq in one map. Again it will depend on the price of the consumable and how the community will respond to that.

I’m not saying that the megaserver won’t break some stuff. But I think that Anet is giving us some interesting tools. We’ll see if the community will use these tools to the fullest, or if these tools are totally broken and unusable. (Depend highly on the cost and build time). At first, when Tequalt was released. Not all of the server were able to kill it, and even less of those were able to kill him on a regular basis. The community responded by creating these Community Guild like TTS and TsX. I’m sure that the community will figure out the best way to continue to kill Teq and Triple Wurm. And if there is really no way to kill them on a regular basis because Anet did a kittenty job, then i’m apologize. But for now i think these is several solution that could work. Lets explore these solutions.

Thad there’s acouple things you may not realize even though TTS guild 1 reps more often than our other 11 guilds:

1) I know the guild 1 is FAR from being ready. Its maybe years from it. But its a step in the right direction. If Anet can bring the influence of each world together during this year, I’m sure the guild could expand drastically. With a good bunch of influence from all world and the guild could start doing guild missions rapidly to gain a good amount of merits. Like I said, its not a immediate answer, but if Anet can bring us worlds wide influence soon, then the solution could come faster then we think.
2) Most of these guild are members already of TTS. Ya of course there will be jerks. Ya of course big guild will be a problem, if they only want to start the consumable if they can bring 50 of there members in each run when they want to start it. But there is plenty of medium guild out there. Like I said, my guild for example. We don’t know what to do with our merits. I won’t go at each Tequalt run, but some of my guildmates do runs on a regular basis (we have 10 members that are members of TTS). TTS is a community that help each other to do the harder content. It took us weeks of work and limited amount of sleep to get our first wurm kill. So I’m sure we will be able to pull something off to continue.
3) Exactly. Now we full between 1/2 and 3/4 of an official server map and then go to an overflow. Now we will be able to full 3-4 maps with TTS members with pugs and other people, like we do now with official server map.

I really don’t think that Tequalt will be affected that much by the change. We got so much better at killing it that it won’t be a problem even if we need to kill him with a mix of TTS and pugs (we already do that, and some Tequalt naked run).

But its true that for the Triple Wurm, things will be a bit more complicated.

On my ele I prefer 18K+ health and 2100-2200 armor for good survivability. Of course, other players will have their own ideas about what feels right and not everyone plays exactly the same.

Wow that’s a lot. I have 18k Hp and 2700 armor on my wvw frontline guardian lol. Its been about a year, the last time I use a toons with that amount of passive defence in PvE. But your advice is good. Find the sweet spot you feel comfortable with. If you want to get better, you can change some piece of gear over time as you get more experienced. I like to change some piece like the hand and foot, because usually i don’t mind not having the best look on them right away. On my ele i changed the headgear too over time since i don’t use any skin on it. Rings are also good gear to change since they are so easier to get if you do fractal. In the long run, you want to reach full zerker or near that, but in the mean time, if you did too much, a couple of more defensive gear could help you.

One thought, is it beneficial for someone to pick up my other LH once I’ve stacked might and if we’re stacking? That way things might die before I need the second hammer and therefore ‘more’ survivability. Or does that just screw our rotations up completely?

It depend on two things.
1) Will you need your second LH? It depend on each fight. I don’t want someone taking my second LH at the CoE Golem, but I really don’t mind if they took it at the CoE Path 3 Destroyer. It depend on the length of the fight, for exemple in a fast fight, you probably won’t use LH. But it also depend on what your strategy for that fight. The best is to allow only some of your guildmates to take the LH since over time they will know when they can and when they can’t take it.
2) It also depend on which profession pick it up. Usually, a warrior is better with their own weapons to put vulnerability and a good dmg rotation. But the LH can boost the dmg of a Thief or a Guardian. The best character to use an Conjure weapons is a character with a lot of damage modifier. And obviously a direct damage character.

I really think that a lot of people are pessimist right now. Ya the system to get people into a specific server can be worrying since we don’t know exactly how it will work. But that’s all.

Spawning time will in fact probably be better right now. Like i said, i don’t know for you TxS, but TTS already have 1 of their Guild with people representing them as their main guild and the community is big enough to have several dozen if not more guild, that are big enough to create the consumable. What these guild gonna do? Use them for their own guild? No they will use them for TTS run (especially for the wurm). Depending on the cost and time to build that consumable, I think that the community in NA and EU, will have a way higher control over the spawn time of these mega boss.

Again, I don’t know how it work in EU, but with TTS we already kill Tequalt in normal server each day for the last several months. We already kill it with a mix of TTS and pugs in their home server. That’s not only make things easier for us since we don’t have to set-up an overflow (even if sometime we need 1 since too much ppl want to join), but it also a great way to introduce player for each home server to that fight.

I agree with the intention behind this topic. The megaserver seem to be a really good idea for the general game, but its a new things and a lot of stuff is still unanswered.

Its not perfect, but here some solutions to adapt to the new situation.
1) Fit all people in one map with not too much outsider and pugs. That one can either good nicely or can be really hard, its all depend on Anet. Maybe if everybody represent that guild and go into the map, they will be sent to the same map. Probably the first 30 ppl will be sent to a map with already several ppl. Then the next 80ppl will be sent to an empty map, where the first 30ppl will be able to join after. Or maybe that this will take more time to setup a map, or maybe it will be impossible.
2) Spawn time and Spawning consumable.
These boss will spawn way less than before. So some of these times will be less comfortable for some people. But there is plenty of ways to use the consumable right. For several months already the first TTS guild (the original one) is becoming a main guild for several hundred of people. Its a fully functional guild with several ppl representing it on a daily basis. I’m part of TTS 5 if i remember correctly, so I don’t know if they already have a good amount of Influence in bank, but I’m pretty sure that if they needed to, they could transform further more the guild into a main guild to get more influence and completing guild missions on a regular basis to gain merits. And if that’s not a good option, there is plenty of guild that i’m sure will be willing to start these World Boss for TTS or TxS. I know my guild would be. We don’t know what to do with our Merits right now. We are pretty much always full at 250/250 without enough option to use them faster that we accumulate them.

The megaserver will have flaws, that for sure. It will also, I think, bring more good stuff to the table, than bad things.

keep in mind that if you go all the way into the S/X + LH build, then you are pretty much the squishiest of them all. Probably, one of the harder build to stay alive, and the more complicated to reach your top DPS. So don’t feel bad about it. Don’t think that any pure S/X + LH Ele can be on top of their Art all the time. I never completed a dungeon path where i didn’t down, screw up my might stacking rotation, lost sight of my second hammer, didn’t put my FGS at the right moment or rush at the wrong side away from the boss. Hopefully, I rarely do more than 1 of those, not all at the same time. You simply need more practice, a lot more practice. I’ve been playing my final S/X + LH ele for about 3 months now, and I still have a lot more job to put on her. Might rotation should become automatic, you should check every single encounter and understand what down you (what specific attack) and how to counter it with the little defence you have (mainly by good positioning).

They already give so much charge already. I’ve been playing since the launch and i’ll have about 80 free transmutation charge.

My friend is playing for the last 9 months and will have 40 free transmutation charge. All these basic transmutation stones, kitten transmutation stone, sorry i’m old school, that most people accumulate since they started to play. They are pretty much free transmutation charge, except if the kind of people that transmute their skin about 10 times over the live of their toons up until level 80.

This is better ya. You gonna have decent dps. Not a full DPS build, but a full DPS build on an Ele is freaking hard. Better to do a bit less dps, but staying up. You don’t need to change your build any further, but here some little things you can incorporate if you want too.

1) Arcane brilliance. Its not the best heal, but if you can use it. Since now you only use 1 blast finisher you under use Persisting Flame. With two blast you will almost be able to give constant fury on your own.
2) Stone Splinters is a great trait to have. You should already stay within 360 radius of your target so you are affected your party boons and blast. So Stone Splinters give you a free 10% dmg, which is really important for an Ele dmg. The best would be to decrease to only 10 pts in Arcana. What you eliminate is up to you. I never really found Blasting Staff, that powerful in PvE.

To be clear about my comment on Ranger.

They don’t have the best Single target dps, the thief is.

They don,t have the best Single target, ranged dps. Because that the Ele staff. Properly build, the staff Ele can bring HUGE dps with Lava Front. But the ele can only claim that status in specific settings. He need a lot of stuff for all his damage modifiers to be active, which in PvP is almost impossible. Also, lava front is bad in 1v1 since if the target move, he’s not on top of the lava front anymore. That’s why i said that Ranger ranged single target dps is better while moving. For an ele is harder to hit a moving target while moving, but it’s fairly easy with a ranger.

Ele have the best DPS of the game. But to reach that, you really have to sacrifice a lot of surviability making that hard to do. Its not that bad in a organized group, but in PuGs that depend on you, I can bring my ele in pugs group, but not for all dungeons, but i’m working on that, need to practice Ele are in a really good place right now for PvE. Since you need to give up so much surviability and some of these attack are telegraphed and static, that don’t make the Ele that much powerful in PvP. The profession have its place for some specific job, but its not at a great place right now for PvP.

Mesmer is probably the second highest DPS in theory. It easier than an ele to reach that potentiel, but you also need a lot of chance. A big part of that DPS potentiel come from your Phantasm. Good player can put down phantasm really fast, but it hard to control exactly where they gonna spawn and if they won’t be kill by a random aoe. They are mainly single target, but have access to some good AoE.

Thief have probably the best Single Target urst dps. But they are squishy. In PvE that a problem, since they don’t have that much surviability. They still have more surviability than a full DPS Ele, but less than a mesmer. They may have less single target DPS than a mesmer, but they dps is instant, meaning that they can burst down someone as soon as they engage them, and don,t have to build up phantams like a mesmer. They also lack in AoE.

Warrior have good dps, but not as high as the other 3. The difference is that its easier to get a good dps with that profession. Sure getting better at your rotation, will boost your dps, but the difference between the dps of a good Warrior and a bad Warrior is not as high as the same situation with a Ele, Thief or Mesmer. That make the Warrior, one of the first profession to been min-maxed in the game, participate in speed clear and is one of the most popular profession in the game.

Necromancer is in the TOP when it come to Condition damage. Too bad that condition is so bad in PvE. But they have their revenge in PvP, when they are in the TOP profession. They also have access to some powerful direct damage burst aoe attack that make they pretty good for Range Pressure in WvW.

Engineer have the best AoE condition damage of the game. They can spread condition everywhere, especially Vulnerability. Again, that make them not that good in PvE, but powerful in PvP. You need to use a lot more skills on an engineer to compete with the top profession, making the Engi less common than Necro, Mesmer, Thief or Warrior in PvP. But they can be as powerful as the other when play well.

Ranger. They have the best single target, range DPS while moving. (Ele have better range dps, but their attack are more static). That pretty specific and useless in PvE. But that make for a great combat profession in PvP.

Guardian. They can do dps. Actually, they can reach the higher tier of DPS at some time (but its mainly in theory, in practice they only have normal DPS, most of the time). Their strength is in their support capability, which is amazing. Because of that you’ll see them everywhere, from dungeon, to fractal to zerg, to node protection in sPvP, even some roaming build (love the hammer in EotM).

I don’t know Spoj. I find the last post of Star Ace pretty reasonable. He don’t accuse any of the two sides. There is hate (for a lot of reason) on both sides.

Some Zerker call the other selfish, bad, lazy, L2P, etc. Other will kick rangers only because they are rangers(there is good ranger with good DPS). Not every zerker will make a post asking for zerker, some will just ask for a path and then talk kitten to the non zerker guys that join. Some are ‘’elitist jerks’‘. Some don’t really even know what they are doing and if they wipe it can only be because someone is not zerker, because i no way i can be wrong if i run zerker.

Don’t get me wrong. I run full zerker on all my character in dungeon. But there is hate on both side, because there is jerks on both sides (I hope not too much), there is troll on both sides and there is misinformed people on both sides.

Zerker or not, they are both two good choice for whatever reason. One is better if you have the skill to back it up and that is something you want, the other is better if you are new, don’t really give a crap or just want to relax and enjoy the game with friends.

There is no counter to stealth

Cloak and Dagger : Blind, Aegis, Block, Dodge, etc
Hide in Shadow : Interrupt
Shadow Refuge : Push or Pull

The only 3 stealth that are really hard to counter are Blinding Powder, Blinding Power when you reach a low level of hp and Blinding Tuft. But then you can counter the burst damage that will come from this stealth.

April Pack and Trinkets With Same Stats !

What are you talking about? Why you they allow you to change stats or have a refund that make no sense what so ever. You have 2 sets of trinkets for your 2 characters and you will still have 2 sets of trinkets for your 2 characters. But now you if you ever get tired of your necro for exemple and want to run a Warrior, you will be able to swap the trinkets from your necro to your warrior.

Why ppl ask for refund when Anet give them something? I don’t get it.

Guardian can be quite good at bursting down a small group of ennemy actually. With the symbol of the staff, leap, GS symbol and whirlwind you can pack a good amount of dps into a small area. 4-5 Guardian doing that at the same time that 2 warrior hammer stun, can give the commander another burst dps options to use. They complement the destroyer warrior in his job.

Im so used to having low hp that anything above16k just sounds like too much especially if combined with AH

Positioning is king.

Venomge, if you don’t use Hidden Killer, then the answer is different. You are far more dependent on your precision without that trait, so you may want more crit chance to make that first Bacsktab count.

The best for you is to experiment and reach that amount of surviability you need. For me its 14k hp, for Dee Jay it seem to be 15k hp. For other they are just find with 12k hp. It all depend on your level of skill and what you prefer to do. Someone that prefer to solo and kill target 1 or 2 at the time may need less hp. Someone doing that on a higher tier server, where there is a lot more ppl and more people in WvW are good, may need more hp. Same thing with a guy that like to go into the middle of a small party of 4-6 ppl and kill 1 or 2 before getting the hell out to recharge before finishing the survivors, he may need a bit more hp to survive.

Find your sweet defensive spot and then min max to fin what would be the best stats combination for you. The combinaison also change depending on what level of gear you will use. If you get exotic armor and weapons, with ascended trinket and no food, you probably won’t have the same gear as someone using full ascended with complete infusion. The additionnal stats, may push you to change a defensive piece for a more offensive since you can get nice small amount of additional defence in ascended+ infusion.

You obviously think 30 in Arcana is a massive boost in dps and that’s what I want to figure it out. Maybe your right, i don’t know. Now if you don’t want to talk about it because your tired of explaining it, then its ok.

For the might stacking rotation I use Dragon’s tooth, Phoenix, Arcane Brilliance, Arcane Wave, Magnetic Wave and Comet (need to stack might on the boss, not before, which is good anyway in my opinion). That give me the same 18 stack of might as your rotation. So if i get the same amount of might (i know that your might last longer, but in my party we always have constant 25 stack of might anyway), then why 30 Arcana boost your DPS? There is nothing that improve your DPS more. On the other hand the 25 pts in water give you 10% dmg when higher than 90% hp, 20% when the target have vulnerability (i don’t put vulnerability, that the warriors of thief in my party, and boss always have vulnerability in pretty much any groups anyway) and I’m in water (my last might stacking skill is a water skill, so i stay there for more dps and a bit of hp regen with mist), and finally 1% dmg for each boons.

Like i already said Hayashi, i run myself a S/F + LH might stacking Elementalist in PvE. So you don’t have to explain. Fresh Air Build is bad in PvE and was never talked about here.

But I will say that 30-0-10-0-30 is really not the best DPS build for the S/F ele. The 30 points in Arcana is for your own defense, so that not a full DPS build.

We can argue between 30-10-10-20-0 or 25-10-10-25-0 or something similar about which one is the best. It also depend on the party composition. But 30-0-10-0-30 is really not the highest DPS for S/F eles, even less the highest DPS for Eles.

The S/F build is GREAT, I love to run it, its powerful, it give huge party wide buff that boost the overall DPS of the group. But when it come to personnal DPS, then the staff ele win over the S/F ele. A 30-20-10-10-0 or a 30-10-10-10-10 (for larger staff attack, which can be good) have a better personnal dps in a group.

S/F ele lose time stacking might, dropping hammer and then do dps. Its great because it buff everybody, but it lower your personnal dps. The Staff ele, can take care of the of the remaining might to reach 25 stack of might (even if you use dps equipement, not boons duration) and give you the might if your S/F ele don’t give it.

You build is pretty defensive, while boosting the offensive support that the basic S/F ele already bring. I’m not saying that your build is not good (especially in high level fractal, where is harder to survive than in normal dungeon, even more if you pug), actually i find is interesting. But its not a full DPS build, and the full DPS build that your specified it not a full DPS build neither.

I’ll give you that, for the large majority of the player population, running a build more similar to your will do more overall dmg than a S/F Zerker, 25/10/0/25/0 Ele. Because this build is so squishy that most people will be dead almost all the time. But still, 30-0-10-0-30 is not the best DPS for an ele.

Ascended Beserker Armor vs Ascended Valkyrie Armor

Valkyrie will give you 2 350 more hp, but you will lose 11% crit chance. What damage will you lose? For me I have about 2275 power and 117 crit damage (with food, etc) With Valkyrie gear about 56% crit dmg, with Zerker it will be 67%

On auto-attack will give about :
2275 * 952 * 0.56/2600 = 466 dmg.
If you take into account the critical you get the average dmg.
With Valkyrie = 466 * 2.67 * 0.56 + 466 * 0.44 = 902 dmg
With Zerker = 466 * 2.67 * 0.67 + 466 * 0.33 = 987 dmg

So this will make you lose about 8% of dmg, which is quite a lot, but since you get most of your damage from Backstab and you probably use hidden killer, then the lost of dps only apply only to a part of your dps, and not the main source of your dps.

Depend on what you do. 16K hp in zerg bursting is pretty low. Right now i have 18k hp and 2700 Armor and i really need to move my kitten and be concentrate to survive.

I prefer 0/0/30/30/10 because I run with an organized group. We stay tight together and some use Wall of Reflection, while other use Purging Flame. The Wall is really powerful in tight space and choke point, while Purging Flames work perfectly since we are all close of each other. Since some of us run POV and Soldier runes they can clean our conditions pretty well. That why, using the 300 vitality would be a good thing to have for some of use, so we can change for more beserker trinket and do more DPS.

@ Dagins : in WvW most thief don’t go full GC, they usually want to have something like 15k hp just to have a bit of resistance. Valkyrie gear is one of the way to gain that 15k hp. And since most of these Thief use Hidden Killer, a small lost of precision don’t affect that much your damage.

Overall you gonna lost about 10% of damage. So if you were doing backstab of about 6-8k dmg, you will now do 5.4-7.2k dmg. Not that big of a deal, this will make fight a bit longer, but the other player will also do less damage. The worst will be against condition damage build, that won’t be affected by this.

Like Zacchary said, stealth is only visual. Some people are just great a playing against a thief. Once you know how to play that profession you know where to hit, even when they are stealth. Thief is a pretty predictable profession, especially if you run dagger as a main hand weapon. Thief are overpower against people that have no clue how to fight against them, but are just in the right spot if you know how to fight them. The only problem is that is pretty hard to figure out how to fight a thief until you run one yourself. That’s the difference that make people scream over the thief or PU Mesmer. You have to run that profession or have a lot of experience to understand how the profession work and how to counter it.

There it is, but keep in mind that those numbers will be useless in 5 days because of the path. So don’t use them to create a build for you, you gonna waste your gold. Actually, these number will probably be exactly the same, you just gonna have a lower % of crit damage that all. But i prefer to way and see everything they gonna change. Anyway, after the 15th, power will be more important that its already is over precision.

Even at 0% bonus crit damage, precision beats power and crit damage if it comes to raw damage over a longer period of time. The reason why people do not realise that escapes me.

The only argument for power over precision is that you can create extreme spikes of damage if you get a lucky crit streak, this has led to the current playstyle of “jump in get lucky and win and if you do not get lucky try to reset until you get lucky”.

Against people who know what they are doing that kind of playstyle will fail more often than it will work.

Your server Sea of Sorrows is far from dead, it have a good population. The thing is, you in a unpopular starting area. Most people have already 1 or several level 80 toons so they either don’t play in the starting area or play in the starting area where there is something to do like the champion train in Queensdale (a group of ppl doing a chain of champion for loots).

You see more people when you know where to go, ppl go where there is something to do. A map can be empty, then a world boss appear and a bunch of people is getting on the map to do it, then get out of the map. Or they go into dungeon, into fractal, play in WvW or sPvP. All those are popular activities, but you won’t see all these people when you play in the Asura Starting area.

With the introduction of the Megaserver for the low level area, you will see more people, even in the asura starting area. If there were like 5 ppl in that map on most server, then with the megaserver there will be more like 80-100 ppl in the map with you.

I hear you Hayashi. You sacrifice A LOT of personnal dps for more surviability and group support (DPS support with might). Its not a bad way to go, since you can take care of might alone.

But I prefer to keep my personnal dps high. I don’t bring enough might for a perma 25 stacks, but I also play with 4 other people that will bring the remaining might and fury that i don’t have.

Maybe. I don’t know the real reason behind that. Anyway for now Deep Freeze don’t look to be OP, or that just people not using it enough to develop a really powerful combination. Until people start to use to with deadly result and other people start to complaint about it, the skill seem ok for now.

Basilisk is breakable which will not guarantee that you will burst them down. If you believe that the natural instinct of someone being stunned is to dodge, you’re forgetting that the first response to stun is stun breaker.

Ya but I was talking about Deep Freeze, which is unbreakable. Anyway, that make any sense since Deep Freeze is 5sec long. It was just a poor exemple from me.

I completed most PvE stuff I wanted to do. Pretty much all you already said, but I have 11k achivements pts. Already 3 legendary, 8 character to level 80, the story completed twice, world completion twices (at third at 60%), dungeon master, all crafting max, etc.

I still have stuff to do in PvE, but that’s completing more costly skin like Frostfang and Foefire’s Essence for my Warrior. I do dungeon and fractals with my friend and guild mission (or other guild activities) each week. But other than that, PvE is pretty much completed for me. I pretty much into WvW right now and like to do sPvP from time to time, especially 1vs1. Without that, I would have quit the game a couple months ago.

Yep, too much source from which you can get these cores/lodestones. The only that still have a high price is Charged because its the only one with a lot of use. A lot of cool looking weapons need charged lodestone, while for all the other lodestones you only have a couple of weapons that need them.

Me and my friend talked a couple times about that. Our conclusion? Legendary Armor would not be the best idea. Why?

Armor cost a lot to create, since you need to work 5-6 more times than for a Weapons. We have now 21 Legendary Armor, so my bet is that we won’t have more than 3 Legendary Armor set. (1 per profession or 3 that you can choose to use on any armor type?) We already have so much of the same Legendary Weapons right now, 1 or 2 years after the introduction of Legendary Armor, we will see a bunch of clone with the same armor and weapons. It also hurt a lot the mix maxing in the game, since you will probably use all the piece from 1 set.

Our solution was simple. Anet already talked about the future introduction of new legendary gear, probably trinkets. Imagine a trinket (the best choice would be the Amulet since you only have 1 and the Back items have a skin) that would create a aura and some effect on the armor that you are currently using. One amulet could create glowing logogram (hieroglyph, Chinese character, etc) all over the armor. Another one could envelop you in fire, another one could create a glowing aura with fiery all around you, etc. The players could combine one of these effect with one of the several armor already available and the aura of a legendary weapon to create a lot of different looks.

Dagger training worth it?
- Depend on your play style. Dagger Training would be good if you go all Damage for some quick hit and run. In this you have low surviability but hit like a truck on your backstab, enough to one shot all squishy ppl with 12-14k backstab. But for that kind of build you would want hidden killer over executionner because you want to 1 or 2 shot someone with backstab. Another build that can use that, only rely on backstab. This kind of build will also use hidden killer, but will use a less precision as possible. Since this build get good defense from gear (like full Valkyrie), he will concentrate on offensive trait like dagger training. Other than that, its not that dagger training is not good, but Critical Strike is better for DPS and Shadow Arts is usually where people get most of their surviability.

10 points in SA enough? I could loose Long Reach (which I dont like) and go for Infusion of Shadows or Cloaked in Shadow for blinds

If you don’t like Long Reach get rid of it ASAP. Its a nice trait if you focus on steal, but you only half focus on it, so its not that good. With that low HP pools and so little point in SA, you will have some difficulty so surive in my opinion.

Assassins signet – switch with Roll for Initiative or Blinding Powder if not spec’ed 20 in SA? It’s a nice DMG boost tho..
Its a nice dmg boost ya. I prefer Blinding Powder personnally. But since you don’t have Hidden Killer, Shadow’s Rejuvenation or Cloaked Shadow, then your stealth is not that powerful. I did good when i used to take Signet of Shadow over blinding powder so its not a big lost, you can do fine without it, so if you like Assassin’s Signet, then keep using it.

Overall, i think your build is all over the place and not really focus. You don’t have good surviability like if you want to burst down ppl fast or get out, but you don’t have hidden killer. You spread your dps into poison, steal, normal dagger and backstab. Each of them will do average dmg, limiting your bursting capability. It could be an advantage since you more flexibility and can be less predictable, but combine with a poor surviability, its gonna be hard.

I really recommend trying Shadow’s Rejuvenation and Hidden Killer. These are two really powerful grandmaster trait for a D/D thief.

Sir Vincents. I repeat myself. I never said Ele can’t burst down someone. I only said that when they use Deep Freeze they are not in a good position to burst down someone immediately and that’s 1 of the reasons why Deep Freeze is on paper better than Basilik Venom.

So your answer was Burning Speed + Fire Grab. Good. That’s two attack of 0.75sec activation time. That’s exactly 1.5sec. My question is can you burst down someone with Deep Freeze if that attack was 1,5sec. You have to drop down the bow, burning speed, fire grab and don’t forget to use Arcane Power. All that in 1,5 sec? I still doubt it. Burning Speed will be in time, but the guys will have time to dodge your Fire Grab. Worst than that, most people first reflex after a stun is to dodge when you are in danger, so most likely that your fire grab will miss the majority of the time.

I called CnD + Backstab because its a burst down and that’s how I play. Of course its not the only option, but that’s the best for me.

So: What guardian build is good for the fractals?

Like Natsu said : Either the Dungeon Meta, or the Hammer build. The difference come from the Protection that the hammer give you in melee. In dungeon, you don’t really need protection at all, but in fractal, some Bosses are harder to melee so having 1 Guardian giving constant protection in melee can help a great deal. The guardian will lose a bit of dps, but if the whole party can melee and not range the boss, then you gain a great deal of DPS.

But other than that, just make sure you gonna have 10 points in Vitues for master of consecration so you can put Wall of Reflection more often and the rest of the build depend on you. (not everybody is comfortable with the meta guardian because of the low HP pool)

Depend on what you want. But most likely it not a good move. People already did the math to find the good ratio between Power and Precision to get the best damage. You need a high amount of power and critical damage before you are better off with Precision over Power. With the incoming nerf to crit damage, this ratio will be a little more toward power and less toward precision, making Assassin gear probable never worth it except in some specific situation or build. The best for you would be to wait a couple weeks after the 15th April and then ask you question again, when people would have done the new math.

Your reasoning is inaccurate though. Saying that “Ele is never ready to burst” following a Deep Freeze shows how inexperience you are on using Elementalist.

Then explain to me? Could you burst down someone on an ele if Deep Freeze was only a 1.5 second Stun? If you can then your kitten good. What skills, rotation, movement, etc would you use? The faster I can see is if you are already in Fire with D/D, you use Deep Freeze in 300 range or less, drop the Bow and cast Fire Grab ASAP. Would the rotation last 1,5 second?

Maybe another rotation would be better? I don’t really appreciate you saying hows inexperience I am on my Elementalist. Calm yourself down. Is deep Freeze the new meta with Ele roamer? I NEVER been deep freeze in WvW. Maybe some Ele with their ice Bow for burst AoE used it before dropping the bow, but it so rare and easy to dodge. Don’t talk down on me on something that so few people use. Oh ya i’m such a bad elementalist since i don’t burst people down with Deep Freeze.

WoW. S/F Ele are great, but I think you make them look better than they are.

25 Perma Might??? That might don’t come all from 1 S/F Ele that’s for sure.

Dragontooth, Pheonix, Magnetic Wave, Arcane Brilliance, Arcane Wave and Comet can give 18 stack of Might for 20 second. Its powerful, but that’s far from 25 perma might.

Like a Warrior, ele are there for DPS and party buffing. They won’t be saviour to a party in difficulty. In fractal, I’ll will be cautious if I don’t have any Guardian, Thief or Mesmer in my group. But i’ll never say, oh kitten we need at least 1 Ele guys.

Don’t get me wrong, i play S/F Ele for a large part of my PvE, but in fractal they won’t make as much difference. Keep in mind that we are talking about a guys that want to go to level 30 in fractal. He probably have a limited experience in there. He need a profession that will make his run easier, not faster.

Guardian is one of the more useful profession for fractal, because of his utilities.
Mesmer is also pretty good and Thief is live saver in some of the fractal, but not all of them.
Warrior bring DPS like in any other dungeon, but he don’t bring something specifically nice in fractal. So even if it nice to have 1 for Banners, dps, etc you’ll rarely feel the need for a Warrior (except maybe at the right Door at the Dredge fractal). But for Guardian, mesmer and theif there is moment where you will say to you (if only we add this profession right now, kitten ).

You need to keep in mind that the majority of people with 20 slots bags got them either from an event or by fractal relics. The 20 slots bags is already way to costly.

I crafted 2 for invisible bags because i needed them, but without fractals relics i would still have 18 slots bags on all my characters.

I wanted to try that new trait too, but I never like to use an armor that don’t have either power or condition as main stats, since they are such powerful stats (especially in WvW and even more after the crit dmg nerf). I would prefer to use Soldier Gear over Cavalier. You lose Crit Dmg and toughness but you gain power and vitality. How the two builds :

Just go into Manual and add the 300 Vitality from the future trait. That will give you :
Soldier Armor = 3826 Effective Power and 31 034 Effective HP
Cavalier Armor = 3810 Effective Power and 28 327 Effective HP

Overall you keep the same DPS, but gain a lot of defense. For information, if you add the Bloodlust, Fury and 25 Stack of Might, then the Cavalier Armor option have more damage with 7047 Effective power compare to the 6878 Effective Power from the Soldier Gear option.

But then, you can keep the soldier armor and just change your Coat for a Beserker pieces and then you gonna have 7156 Effective Power and 29 061 Effective HP. Build stats distribution will have more damage and more defense than the Cavalier Armor option. But its not that big of a difference at this point.

Tell that to Engie, Necro or other thief lol. How many times I got backstab by a good thief while being in stealth and playing to obvious, how many nades I eat when i try to backstab a thief, how plague leave me useless while i’m trying to escape as fast as possible, how many guardian combine Circle of Warding with Symbol of Wrath and Whirling Wrath right when I was about to backstab them.

Tip : the thief is only invisible, but he’s still there for you to AoE. kitten I should keep my mouth shut to we can still make easy kill against these clueless victim. Hope they never discover how much a thief can be predictable in stealth.
