I do agree with the fact that this skill is very strong but 5s cd is a bit too long.

Basically now i rarely use this skill in pvp because swiftness from glint is better for mobility and also because this skill fails extremely often and goes to 5s cd and wastes your energy.

During fights it’s a bit too long cd to counter blocks so it’s not worth to use the skill that much anymore really.

3s cd would be better to balance this skill. It prevents spamming but won’t cripple the skill.

Remove CD on Phase Traversal please!

Can we get a clarification from Arenanet.

  • What was the reason you wanted to put Minstrel amulet in pvp?
  • What were your concernes about the Minstrel stats and balance?
  • Did you anticipate that some classes will be unbalanced with Minstrel?
  • What is the future of pvp stats? Can some amulets be removed from pvp or are you trying to balance the game around specs instead of stats?

Dragon hunter bow 5 skill does hammer bubble to 5 targets. It was suppose to be like static field when devs were talking about it on stream and now currently it’s not so what is going on? It lasts 6 seconds + then DH can use elite trap which lasts also 6s. So total of 12s of immobilize?

There's no way to get mastery points anymore?

So basically now when everybody is just doing events and halloween + stuff it’s impossible to get your elite spec 400 hero points by yourself in pve.

I think staff is fine currently as it is except for skills 4 and 2. Skill 4 bugs and doesn’t remove conditions and skill 2 is extremely hard to hit and use as an interrupt.

My suggestion is: bug fix and a slight range increase to staff 2 skill.

This would help a lot.

Revenant Staff 4 skill (Renewing Wave) doesn’t remove conditions. Tooltip says it removes 2 conditions from 5 targets. (it sometimes remove conditions if you stand still while casting the skill). Reported this bug after bwe3 and this bug is still here.

Also sword 3 (Unrelenting Assault) doesn’t do damage while rev has slow but unlike bwe3 it dodges now.

I have collected some bugs from the revenant class and I hope that you people will expand this thread.

  • Staff 4 condi removal skill not always removing conditions from the revenant.
  • After the trait, Soothing Bastion procs, using the skill Crystal Hibernation right after has no affect. You would still be rooted in place doing the animation (50% slower), but you will not block, or heal for the duration. It’s full cool-down time will go off as well.
  • Soothing Bastion trait also activates when you are downed and go below 25% hp.
  • If you have the trait Soothing Bastion and the crystal hibernation procs during slow, you can’t cancel the animation and the shield will expire while you are still in the animation causing you to take damage. Same thing happens with shield skill but you can cancel it.
  • Swapping legend with 4 active facet makes energy start at 50 with negative pip for 1+ second, going to 49-43 before restoring the neutral pip.
  • You can’t use energy drain skills immediately after swapping legends, you have to wait 1-2 seconds before you can use those. Apparently it affects at least impossible odds and jade wind.
  • Unrelenting Assault cast animation is delayed while revenant is slowed and the skill does no damage or evade at all. Apparently it’s same with quickness if the source is other than shiro.
  • Enemy standing next to a wall stops Unrelenting Assault.
  • Slick Shoes interrupts Unrelenting Assault causing problems with the fact that there’s no way to cancel this skill by yourself (weapon swapping/stow weapons).
  • Unrelenting Assault doesn’t work on treb if you have it targeted.
  • Unrelenting Assault sometimes targets dead targets.
  • Hammer skills not hitting the intended range due to environment.
  • Hammer skill 3 Phase Smash: The stated range is 1200 and can be targeted as such; however, you will only leap 900 range and deal damage at 900 range. The blast finisher will take place at the targeted location (i.e. if you target 1200 away, you will blast finish at 1200 range, but deal damage at 900 range).
  • Taunt + Resistance causes every enemy to become untargetable (yellow) for the rest of the match.
  • Impossible odds has delayed animation on quickness stomp.
  • Glint’s Facet of Nature is fully functional underwater, every other Facet can’t be selected.
  • When you are launched, the Shiro stunbreak Riposting Shadows is deactivated in the utility bar like all other skills, however you can still use it to stunbreak. This is only when you are launched, knockdown/stun works normally.

Engineers have reveal on gyro for 6s and reveal from trait and skill for 6s both when they hit enemies in stealth. Ranger reveal skill Sic ’Em! is also for 6s.

Sneak Gyro, Scrapper

Deploy a sneak gyro to provide stealth to nearby allies.

Stealth (4s): Invisible to foes.
Duration: 30s
Interval: 3s
Radius: 300

Detection Pulse (Gyro), Scrapper

Remove stealth from enemies in a large area.

Revealed (6s): You cannot stealth
Number of Targets: 5
Radius: 900
Cast time: 0.75s, cooldown 20s (casted from stealth due the fact how Sneak Gyro works).

Analyze, Engineer toolbelt skill

My question is. Why is Ride the Lightning not ground targeted and an evade? Also it could be a blast finisher now when might gain is nerfed and it’s radius increased to 240 to make it better in combat since now it’s used for movement most of the time.

[BWE3] Make Tempest Viable for PVP!

So I tested tempest overloads with my friend. I was using celestial amulet, arcane and water when he used scrapper. He stood still doing nothing while I was casting overloads. I did about 300-650 damage per tick for the duration of the overloads. When he used his retaliation and put 2 stacks of burning and 3 stacks of bleeding from me while I was casting air overload. I would have been dead without healing myself.

Now my concern is that will this be enough for the tempest troll builds to become viable?

I would suggest that you do something like: take double damage while using overloads.

This way I think the tempest would be balanced in it’s right place where we can lower players rank in leagues and troll ppl properly while trying to win as hard as we can.

I have 5k hours on ele and I have waited for this kind of trolling ability for a long time.

Ele would still be able to receive salty comments and would also still be op at keeping ppl in low ranked leagues

Here is also a link to a video showing how awesome these troll builds will be. Extreme risk, absolutely no reward has always been my thing. Imagine using something with 11k hp

I tried engi for the first time today and it’s tru that Slick Shoes is hard to land, but if you know how to use the skill it’s way too op. That’s why i would personally rework the skill to be more easy to use and to not be so effective.

I had stability but it seems like you don’t know that it does multiple cc fields and 1 stack gets removed instantly. Also if you use sword 3 skill you can’t cancel the animation and if the Slick Shoes field hits you you are kittened. So the only way to avoid it 100% is not to use your sword 3 on revenant (which is the main damage) or stay out of range since sword has only melee attacks as major damage.

The problem isn’t the skill itself as it is. The problem is that if you run back and forth over the revenants or somebodys body he can’t stand up for 6-8 seconds so the problem isn’t the dodge thing itself but it’s the instant stunlock you get from it and it’s way too long.

Edit. Imagine some other class have straight up 6-8s taunt or stun which can’t be evaded or blocked.

out of curiosity, does slick shoes muck up a rev’s sword shadowstep channel skill? i didnt incidentally notice if it trips them with only 1 weekend’s worth of playing and the current state of gadgets in general.

Yes. Slick Shoes cancels revenant sword 3 skill Unrelenting Assault since Slick Shoes can’t be evaded. And then the engi can just run around the revenant and stack those red circles so that you can’t do anything while being knocked down 3 times.

Edit. Also the stunbreak in revenant shiro is dodge which removes conditions but Slick Shoes causes you to get knocked down instantly after using it and the source of stability is the trait which gives you stack of stability when you dodge, but can’t dodge while in Slick Shoes.

As a revenant i got constantly owned by Slick Shoes and no way to avoid it. Also i noticed that scrapper can do insane damage with it while the target is knocked down in the center of red circle circle not able to dodge cause the knockdown happens mid dodge and it even happens sometimes when you don’t even move.

The only way to avoid well placed Slick Shoes is to use stability and if you are out of stability you have to eat every burst from the engi.

Yepp, that’s what the utility is supposed to do.
If you engage a engi in close quarters without having stab or heavy cc’s ready, you deserve what’s coming for ya.

Don’t get salty over being outplayed.

So the only option is to stay in range and eat grenades as a melee class without invuln skills and passive procs?

Edit. Slick Shoes also completely kills druid in cele form.

WOW! Good job at stalking me [dancingmonkey.4902]. FYI and just for you(don’t tell anyone shhh…). I am gonna play revenant when the expansion comes and i couldn’t care less about ele. Okay. I didn’t know that other classes have broken invuln skills compared to mist form cause I thought that every invuln skills are just for survivability but apparently that’s not the case.

Edit. I would personally make the concept of invuln skill different as you can see when you go stalk me more.

No! You can’t start ressing or stomping during other invuln skills. With engi you can start the ress/stomp after you have the invuln on while on the other classes you can only stomp/ress before you put the invuln on. You can’t ress ppl while in mist form if you didn’t ress him before you casted mist form. If ele interrupts it’s ressing/stomping it has to wait till the invuln ends.

Slick Shoes is op skill. it counters almost every attempts to escape and can stunlock you for 8 sec max without you being able to do anything.

Make it like that it has 1s internal cd on every field when it knocks down or the make it dodgeable. This skill was one of the reasons why engi was so op in beta also cause it could knock you down for so long time that you had no chance to survive against scrapper damage.

So ele is getting facerolled by engis, scrappers, engi damage, engi cc, engi healing, engi sustain, necros, mesmers, thieves, revenants, everything, warrior autoattacks, mesmer pets, thief dodges, chronomancers, dragonhunters, moanado, kids holding lollipops, random cc, slick shoes, condi spam, dude with a broken hand, dude with only 2 fingers and 1 hand, peter the alcoholist and by the first timer Patrick.

What is ele doing currently in the game? It’s one of the weakest classes and specs. Also in pve. No one is gonna use eles anymore (maybe in wvw, just maybe). Everything counters it. Plz do something! Also tempest is useless in pvp.

Revenant, Thief steal Essence Sap! Fix it!

Please revisit the idea of giving thief a steal slow skill since almost every revenant skill bugs with slow effect. For example UA cast animation is super long, the skill does no damage and it doesn’t evade. Also Crystal hibernation trait locks you in place without block and no chance to evade damage at all (same thing happens with the shield skill but you can cancel it).

If you have the trait Soothing Bastion and the crystal hibernation procs during slow, you can’t cancel the animation and the shield will expire while you are still in the animation causing you to take damage. Same thing happens with shield skill but you can cancel it.

Stuck in PvP match/queue [merged]

I got stuck in a match last night and decided to log out. This morning i logged back in and realized i can’t enter the queue because match is in progress. The game is also giving me constant error messages because of this everytime i change map.

You didn’t get the idea. The idea is to que either alone, with friends or with full party. 3 different ques. Solo q you get match against pure solo players with no party members not 2+3 or 4+1 or 2+2+1 teams. Like GW1 random arenas.

We should have 3 different league ranking ques for different purposes. First should be team league where you have to have your full party. Second we should have a league where you can que with your friends like with 2-4 party and third we should have the full solo league where you can only que alone.

Ele in pvp. Arenanet doesn't understand!

The only available amulet basically for ele is the celestial amulet in pvp. If you take marauder you do good damage but lack the survivability without stealth and it makes you useless comparison to thieves and mesmers.

If anet would make ele only amulets that gives a bit more vitality and toughness to ele and then good amount of other stats(toughness, vitality power, precision, ferocity or toughness, healing power, vitality or something (suggestions)!) ele would be ok without cele.

Ele with 11 000 hp is just a joke and it gets bursted into oblivion in matter of seconds in this meta. Also same thing with marauder cause ele doesn’t have any toughness to survive the burst.

Mesmer can insta burst marauder ele from 17k hp to 0 hp with 1 burst from stealth.

Elementalist:

  • Blinding Ashes recharged increased from 5s to 8s.
  • Burning Fire no longer apply might when you use a cantrip.
  • Drake’s Breath – Burning duration decreased from 3s to 2.5s.
  • Ring of Fire – Applies 2 stacks of burning for 4s initially (this now applies if enemy is within radius of the ring, do not need to cross the ring). When enemy cross the ring threshold the fire stack they get has been changed from 3 stacks for 5s to 1 stack for 2 seconds.
  • Vigor trait for elementalist on crit will be normalized to other profession’s (going to 10s recharge with 5s duration instead of 5s recharge with 5s duration).

Elementalist loses 12 might stacks from their rotation (cantrips utility skills and your passive clensing fire).

So this basically means that ele damage is nerfed to almost the same as the earth attunement builds (and there is a reason d/d eles won’t run earth). With less survivability than you get from earth attunement. It’s hard enough to kill someone on 1v1 atm (shoutbow, necro, bunker guardian, thief and mesmer stealthplay and mesmer pu, soldier engi).

Also anet nerfed mist form so that you can’t use profession specific skills during mist form so that vampirism rune (for players suffering l2p issues and for no one to die during the game, overskill runes) will be available for tournaments.

Does this mean that the developers want this game to go towards more bunkerish meta and engi or warrior replacing ele again?

Engineer:

  • Flamethrower getting a dmg increase on the autoattack.
  • Fragmentation Shot (Pistol), bleeding duration increased 2s to 3s, allowing you to stack more bleed.
  • Healing Turret (Cleansing Burst) going to be affected by your healing power and AMR. Will scale up properly. AMR would recharge your heal but your flip over skill (Cleansing Burst) wouldn’t be recharged. This bug has been fixed.
  • Magnet used to not pull a target to you if it was near the edge of the range. Now it will pull targets up to 1200 range properly.
  • Medical Dispersion Field trait – Reworked. There is now no internal cooldown and it is only triggered by your heals on yourself. The healing pulsed out to your allies has been increased by 20%.
  • Takedown Round trait – Increased the damage by 50% and now affected by Shrapnel (cripple/bleed)
  • Mortar Kit – Now affected by Explosive Powder.

Warrior:

  • Rousing Resilience is getting a huge % buff (130% buff).
  • Last Stand recharge reduced from 90s to 40s. (WTF MORE PASSIVE IMMUNITY L2P NOOBS CARRIED 100% INSTA OVERSKILL ABILITY).
  • Rifle for warrior getting a damage buff.
  • Shield Bash/Shield Stance getting recharge reductions (20s for Shield Bash, 25s for Shield Stance). Shield Bash also getting an extended stun duration from 1s to 2s.

Suggestion to invuln skills

All the invuln skills should disable skill usage, profession specific skills (f1-f5) and traits to promote the idea of survivability skill and not combat engage skill. Invuln skill duration should also be reduced a bit so that you can avoid a spike by activating it but you still would have to play in order to escape and your team would have to react fast and peel the enemy. Also passive invuln traits should be removed and reworked or then every profession should get access to passive invuln traits.

Vamp rune currently is giving the real mist form ele skill and you can swap attunements and proc traits while using the skill mist form so the rune is working as intended.

This ofcourse means that other professions are able to use their profession specific skills also during the vamp proc.

Mist form as a skill might be broken but currently it’s not the runes fault.

Vamp rune used to give you a vapor form which is the elementalist downed state mist form skill and that caused the bug with ele resetting it’s downed state hp when using the skill vapor form while downed.

Now my suggestion here is to ban the vamp runes from every profession in pvp events.

For arenanet i suggest you to rework vamp or replace it with some other rune set for pvp. Pvp has too much invulns and passive invulns already.

You can’t destroy mesmer f5 skill with damage. You can still lifesteal health from it but it is completely immune to damage.

Who is the top elementalist player?

I don’t know who the top elementalist is but usually pro eles run celestial amulet with arcana, water and fire traitlines depending on the opponents team and they play d/d. Air traitline is viable if enemy team has lots of eles, mesmers and thieves and not so much condition damage but in general fire traits are better. They also usually use rune of vampirism. For sigils i would recommend sigil of energy and then leeching, battle or doom.

Everyone seems to think they have the formula, i’m 16 wins 1 loss on solo join. I play defense every game… me+pugs have beat multiple guild premades because they went 4 rush on door. Too many factors are involved including communication and player skill to say “do this and win every time”.

Defenders need dps too ya know ^^
