This isn’t your MMR, but your ladder position. We could let matchmaking expand the ladder position cutoff, but then we’d have a lot of players complaining that they keep getting matched with people outside their division. We’d have to let this happen pretty slowly still.

How long would you be willing to wait before going significantly outside your division for matchmaking?

Is there any chance of mmr reset to make the league system to work properly and to show the mmr of a player?

If the league system works like this it’s working. What isn’t working with the current league system is the mmr.

In your case of farming matches it only means that there are no ppl in your league level playing the game. Without mmr this wouldn’t be the case. Without mmr the game would force you to have a bit longer wait times while people are reaching your level but you would still be able to play matches more often than now.

I also think that the reason they made this system like this is the rewards so that it would take huge amount of time to get to the legendary and get rewards. Unfortunately this is the wrong way of thinking because it only cripples the matchmaking and makes this game unplayable and because pvp players don’t care that much about reward, they just want to have good matches.

Leagues are a mess now because they use their mmr system to decide matches. If anet wants to have their leagues working properly they need to get rid of the mmr and use the league system instead.

If there was no mmr reset during the launch of the leagues and if every match is based on the mmr and not the tier you are in then the system is broken. If these things are correct the matchmaking defeats the whole purpose of the league tier system which is meant to rank people.

  • People should be able to climb the tiers and leagues and face harder opponents as they climb up tiers.
  • The tier system itself is designed to be a mmr system but if there is 2x mmr affecting people the other stops affecting and in this case it’s the new league system. (For example someone with high mmr climbs very slowly from the amber tier if he faces equal or harder opponents and may never reach the proper tier level).
  • Matches should be inside of the current tier, tier set and league.

These things creates a good and working system where people can really see which players are the best in the game.

Now queuing as a team has put us against pugs/premades more often than against guild teams. Shouldn’t guild ladder be competition between guilds only? I can’t see the point here if we are queuing against pugs and gaining rating because it has nothing to do with guild ladder especially when there is possibly money on the line.

  • Guild ladder shouldn’t be guild vs premade/pugs it should be guild vs guild.
  • The system should always look 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5 guild matches and these matches should have the mmr system to get balanced mmr pugs on 3v3 and 4v4 guild vs guild battles.

I understand that the pvp population may be an issue and that’s why the system should first rank people based on tier and after certain amount of time (for example 3 minutes) start expand the search area to tier set and eventually the whole league.

For guild queue it should only be guild matches from guild ladder based on current rating (if guilds are not queuing on your current level you have to wait until guilds come online or until your rating drops low enough).

These are just some thoughts that came to my mind based on what people are saying at the moment and i think this would make pvp more popular. I would like to get the official response about leagues and mmr system from the arenanet though.

It’s the base for the leagues. Without mmr reset leagues mean nothing and this game failed once again. Leagues are supposed to show your mmr.

Did they reset the player mmr like they should have? Is pvp matchups now based on the hidden mmr or is it based on the position in divisions? Can i for example face unbalanced matchup on amber against legendary or diamond eventually? If so then this patch just added a new visual win/lose reward track that has nothing to do with how skilled you are personally.

No hate, just wanting a clarification.

There is a reason why oRNG uses 2 condi revenants and almost everyone in top pro league uses them. The burning skill takes 5 energy which is about 1 sec.

The viper condi mallyx revenant is way too easy to play and way too effective. The amount of conditions you can do with condi rev is insane. Area pulsing torment + elite pulsing torment with mace and axe doing more torment and 4 stacks of burning on 3s cooldown + conditions going through blocks and evades + applying full party resistance.

No wonder top teams are using condi revenant and oRNG uses 2 of them.

This isn’t trolling. I had a long fight and then i suddenly died. I am sure that some other ppl have also experienced this.

This might have something to do with the the piercing property of true shot. The only thing I saw was a guardian who charged his true shot and then he ported and i died.

After the expansion we haven’t heard anything meaningful from the revenant dev. If we would be able to ask ask about bugs and stuff from the dev he would probably be like

What bugs? There’s no bugs I am aware of.

Even tho some of the bugs have been there from the BWE1.

Game isn’t balanced around one players loss in a duel. Bookmark your post and re-visit after the balance patch that we both know is going to come.

Side note, to the poor fella struggling with Druids I came across a heck of a duo last night in WvW. DH/Druid pair. Pound for pound I would say they had a solid build and knew how to work together. Didn’t matter the number of players that engaged they either won, held their ground, or had the ability to escape and reset when overwhelming (Zerg) numbers engaged.

Do you think those of us who fought them came to the forums and cried foul? Or, do you think maybe we messages them, said kitten fine job, lick our wounds, and figure out how to deal with it the next time?

Maybe you just got beat, out played, by a better player? Did you ever consider that?

Was these kind of things happening before the xpac? Do understand that i also know that majority of ppl playing this game are quite bad at gaming but i still think that some things are a bit overtuned.

I didn’t say you are bad. I asked if you ever considered that you just got out played? Outside of the troll post, if this indeed happened, I’d say you got out played and frustrated.

Did these things happen prior to the expansion? Of course they did. Visit any of the streamers or youtube channels and you will see a number of clips and/or highlight reels. Lots of classes work well together or of people who played MMO’s for a while together and know what to do when. Let us face it, there are people in the game who know what skills and traits do what, and when, and can gear accordingly.

That does not make you bad or them over powered. The are just a better, more knowledgeable player.

You are right about getting outplayed. I got outplayed during the time of the last 5s of the match when i died after dueling for 10 minutes. I could have used 1 dodge and not get trapped by entangle.

This tho didn’t change the fact that the damage is too high. No matter what i did i couldn’t kill it and eventually the last moment of the battle would be my mistake everytime. This would be the same thing as saying that you could win the old d/d ele before ring of fire nerf using a bunker guardian.

No. Not be able to duel druid easily on my terms. It wasn’t easy to avoid, tank and survive 50+ traps. The thing is like it was with the old d/d ele. It does too much damage compared to what it tanks. If you build a tank build you should do almost no damage.

Ah, the dreaded 50 trap build. That one has been escaping many a Ranger and Druid. This fella you ran against must be rare and special for not many of mastered the 50 trap meta.

I mean come on and get a life buddy. You are telling one hell of a fishing tale right there and lose all credibility. You didn’t know how to handle the CC. Ignorance. Your fault. Move on. Or, try again, learn, and adapt. We are all doing that now since the EXP is only a few weeks out.

So do what Frankie does, and Relax.

The guy didn’t even have a lot of cc. Just some random entangles from passive things. Oh yeah, i’ve also dueled quite a lot and i know i have no chance to beat that build even if dueling for 2 months. It just would end up to be endless or then i die cause i make some mistake and use my healing skill on the wrong time.

You could’ve easily locked him down and bursted while he was in CAF.

The funny thing is that i tried that. Still had not enough damage to kill the druid. As soon as his cele form ended the ranger used traps with trapper runes and activated it’s healing skill while standing in the middle of the traps using staff and pet to attack me.

Also the fact is that druid tanks super hard in pvp also and does good damage. Watch Helseths duels against druids for example and listen to his comments. You can’t deny those.

Enhanced Bulwark: Is this really a GM trait? This just needs to be taken out and replaced with something else. I wouldn’t even take this as the minor trait lol.

Plz don’t remove this trait! Enchanced Bulwark is an excellent trait that synchronizes well with the Retribution taitline and is actually very balanced and stable trait choice since revenant has not really a viable access to stability when you look at the total amount of cc you’ll be getting during a battle. One stability after dodge gets removed super easy and this trait is good because of that.

For example I have 0 stacks of torment when i start blocking and when revenant with mallyx is nearby I suddenly have 7 stacks from the revenant who doesn’t have the goes through block Malicious Reprisal trait. This is a pretty huge bug!

Have you ever wondered why your target is not dying after you stomp the target? That’s caused by the allow skill retargeting option. If you stomp someone and change your target while stomping or if you have different target than the downed player you can’t stomp the guy who is downed.

So the BWE3 glint facet bug is back and you can’t for example use impossible odds right after swapping legends.

Fixed a bug in which upkeep skills would turn off when crossing certain parts of maps (Nice, great job! You really made pve life easier but sadly broke everything else ).

In the meanwhile also more bugs are being ignored like the simple staff 4 condi remove bug.

So reverting revenant back to what it was is the solution and instead of affecting only pve it’s better to affect all the game modes and break the revenant?

There’s also something wrong with staff 4 skill (condi remove not working properly) like from the time the revenant was even invented and it was reported years before gw2 even released BUT! IT’S STILL THERE!!!! I believe it would take 15 minutes at max to fix that coding error since there is same kind of skills in the game.

We want to know your thoughts and opinions Roy about the Phase Traversal.

  • What are you thinking about the skill?
  • Why did you wanted to add cooldown to the skill or was the decision in your hands?
  • Could the cooldown be 3s instead of 5s or could it also be energy based?

I hope we can discuss and think about some ideas together and get also some information from arenanet balance team.

Currently this decision feels like balance team said you have to add cd to the skill.

We need more information and communication ANet about the changes and why you feel that the changes are nessessary (like you guys do in livestreams) so that we can understand the changes and also mention different possible solutions to solve unbalanced skills that you guys thought.

Underwhelming mobility wvw

Was testing revenant in wvw today and realized that it has poor mobility. Even mesmers surpass revenant in terms of mobility.

Edit: Both Revenant and Herald have poor mobility. I am using herald glint and shiro and still mesmers can catch me easily. Also they kill me easily cause they can spam endless amount of conditions instantly.
