I have no idea. I think that would be lots of fun! Maybe they could make an ice skating rink to let us slide around on. Or even Ski Slops. Heck, we had this type of stuff in City of Heroes, don’t see why not here.

I can confirm Silver-Fed suffers the same issue. I miss the voice.
Lockboxes are a plague in the MMO market in general. it irks me to no end to see this game infected by it in an otherwise a fantastic game. Maybe not as great as City of Heroes, but still a really darn good game.

I think the gem cost for the item itself is a bit too pricey for what it does.
This is one aspect of the game I deeply dislike. A double chance is still a chance. It won’t make me any more inclined to buy keys then it did before, which was no chance. If you want me to buy gems then stop putting these weapon skins behind this lock boxes. Even then, the skins that are in the gem store needs to be cut in half. I think then people would be more inclined to buy more items if they were so priced more reasonably. It reminds me of a price gouging Nexon store.
Indeed. The BLC is one of those horrible things that still plaguing the game. Any hate toward black lion chests is well deserved.
Phalanx female armor is what you should be complaining about. Male version is fantastic. Female version looks nothing like the male version. If only the female version actually looked similar to the male version…
I would gladly buy one off the gem store as a skin, but yet again, they decided to put it behind a BLC. So I am not bothering with it.
Have to agree completely on this one. The cut scenes were emotion filled and amazing. Seeing the “eternal alchemy” was jaw dropping experience, so much, that I wanted to replay back the entire episode just to see it again. I also had to stop to think which companion to take with me, Rox or my norn friend to come with me on that rescue. A brilliant job overall, good job A-Net Team.
Just sell the item in the gem store already. People would pay so much gems for this, the demand is there. Please no more BLC crap.
Its freaking annoying for sure. I would even pay for it as a service option via Gem Store. Please, no blocking it behind those kitten black lion chests. Hate those stupid things.
- “Some promotional town clothing, such as the Dragon Emblem T-shirt and retired town clothes such as the hoodies, will become endless tonics which allow you to continue to wear the clothing in non-combat situations. "
- “Clothing pieces that are converted to armor skins can be mixed and matched with the same restrictions as other armors. Outfits cannot be mixed as each of them now is stored on an account-wide basis as a single unlock. Items related to endless tonics cannot be mixed or dyed.”
- “Customer support will be able to fulfill gem refund requests only for town clothes that become endless tonics. Such requests must be made after the Town Clothes system changes take effect; refund requests cannot be processed prior to the April Feature Build. Customer Support is not able to fulfill requests for refunds other than those related to Town Clothes that become endless tonics. This means that town clothes that become skins are not eligible for a refund.”
So let me get straight… The reason I got outfits was to mix and match them to create looks. We are losing the ability to mix and match the outfits that we could do in the first place. And now from what I read on the one FAQ page is that I cannot get my gems for something I am losing access to? This is unacceptable !!!!
The black lion chests system should be been burned down when lion’s arch got destroyed. I hate the kitten things.
Unlock the ui. I dont want to be able to load custom uis. i just want to be able to move/resize/rescale/readjust the position of the current windows on the ui.
Now this is an improvement that this game could really use. It baffles me that so many games before this one a player could do this, but alas, not here and I still do not understand why. (Even could do this in GW1)
I think this sums it up
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collateral_damage
“Collateral damage is damage to things that are incidental to the intended target. It is frequently used as a military term where it can refer to the incidental destruction of civilian property and non-combatant casualties”yeah i feel like a casualty in this town clothes issue.
I think you nailed it, it feels exactly like this!
A little added note here, Outfits will still respect the ‘hide helm’ toggle so you can absolutely wear Wintersday or Mad King outfit without the hat or pumpkin.
But we want to dye them! And mix them up with other items!
Behold the beauty of an Asura with a pink wintersday outfit and a pink quaggan hat. This has been possible for a year, and now it suddenly isn’t anymore? I thought this patch was supposed to allow us more flexibility with armor? Seriously, at least tell us why you are doing this. As it is now, I can only assume that you just hate cute Asura in pink Wintersday outfits and pink Quaggan hats. And that’s evil.
Outfits can still be dyed, They will have up to 4 dye channels depending on the outfit.
Sorry about the mix-and-match. Converting things to be armor and combat compatible did come with some trade-offs. For the most part we tried to favor mixing with armor slots and skins (a lot more possible combinations). Hopefully we’ll see more consistently usable customization now that part of it isn’t hidden in town clothes that get turned off every fight. Outfits come as a set and equip as a set with the added benefit of not costing charges or requiring items to apply onto additional characters.
It still is not an acceptable compromise. I greatly enjoy mix matching these type of outfits. If anything, I wanted even more town outfits to mix and match with. Now I am getting the opposite. I do not want these outfits in tonic form, I wanted our ability to use the town outfits expanded and more of them. I am pretty sure I am not alone on this either from what I have seen from the responses on this subject have been largely negative.
This is not an improvement on the game, but a setback.
Just wanted to say I really loved the Kasmeer and Marjory NPC voice idle conversations, especially explanation of Kasmeer’s dress looking so unblemished. Gave me a good eye raiser and laugh. Also like the friction between two living world NPCs team upss of Kasmeer/Marjory and Rox/Braham.
There are many things I enjoy about this game but listening to the idle conversations between all these characters really made my day. I believe good work should be complimented and this I greatly enjoyed.
If they change the charged quarts to an item that can be traded, I think it would solve this issue. People who do not want them can sell them, people who want more of them can buy them from said people. Would make everyone happy. Or happier at least from the current state of things.
Why not introduce them? Something you can only get once a year isn’t restrictive enough? Having an unique character should be done by the player’s own creativity not having an item that no other person has.
Though I do like the idea of more weapon and armor options. The more options the better the ability for the player to make their character more unique.
All I can say you should have had more patience. It was a fun puzzle and any player who looked up the solution instead of actually playing the game, I feel sorry for the loss of a good experience of a decent puzzle. A game that actually makes the player do some thinking is much needed. I am glad to be rid of the hand holding.
Whole toxic mobs: insane condi (confusion especially) spam, insane dmg
Aether path + aether fractals: insane CC/condi spam, stupid high dmg
new runes and sigilsNo matter how i look at it, the more LS is added, the more i look at pvp and pve changes the more i have a feeling that devs wants us to play warriors/guards.
Am i wrong?
I personally main thief, i already run condi removal build otherwise i wouldn’t be able to survive a second. I run fractals lv 48 and Teq every day, i finished aether path within 2-3 hours after it came out, i am by no means elitist but i do like to check new content out. HOWEVER i completely gave up on current LS as confusion/torment spam is absurd. Looking as we get aether mobs in fractals and my guess is that lv 40+ gonna be major pita i just can’t imagine my thief being able to do it at all. Not only my lv gonna be reset to 30+ i will also have to roll guardian now probably.
Stop this please. I understand content should be challenging and all, aether mobs are not challenging, they are just stupid confusion/stun spams. I don’t get rewarded for dodging in time because i have only so many dodges and stealth to remove conditions, after that i am dead. Mobs should be designed the way (at least at high lv fractals) that if i dodged in time or used proper CD i get rewarded for it and punished if i didn’t react properly , in reality i just get 10+ confusion stacks on me again despite dodging previous stun or clearing confusions.
@Anet devs: do you guys even test your “new content” on anything else but warriors and guardians?
I find that certain professions fit certain play styles better then others. Why you find some people are good at some professions while others are not. Also, the tower is geared toward group play, not solo. It is why it has been so much fun for me at least. Working with others and helping each other out makes for a far more pleasant and fun experience.
Which is outrageous of a price hike all the same. Account bound or otherwise.
This rise in price of 1000 gems for infinite gathering tools, even if account bound (which should have been in the first place) doesn’t sit well with me. Wasn’t $10 worth of gems more then enough?
There needs to be rethinking on that price hike.
What people want is the awesome look of the male phalanx version on a female. Do not get me wrong, the female version is nice in its own right, but those of us that have saw the male version and thought “hey that looks awesome, I cannot wait to get that on my character” only to find the female version of that look doesn’t exist, it is quite disappointing. If the female version was part of another set that had a male version that looked similar, I would have no issues with it.
The issue isn’t the female version or how it looks, the issue is people wanted a female version of the phalanx armor that looks like the male plated version.
Hence, unfortunately, why I did not buy an armor that I am sure is a big success on individuals that are playing male characters.

I was having latency the past week, but now that I have read this, I have also notice disconnections happening.
Of this week or so, I have been getting horrible latency spikes randomly. I haven’t been able to find the source of it at all. Doesn’t seem to be my system, so there is a connection issue somewhere along the line. I was not suffering from it before only recently did it start. Its been making it difficult to play to say the least.
Yes, they do seem a bit steep to me. I also skip the “chance of getting” items for obvious reasons. Either I am getting the item I want or not. Not a chance of getting. That’s just bad.
Wanted to toss in my voice of this tower being a great deal of fun and yet challenging. I love how the instances blended in with the open world feel of the place. A tower has always been a great symbol of classic adventuring. Higher up you go, the more danger and rewarding it can be. A dungeon structure going up instead of down. Has a great feel to it and something I loved seeing in this game. Reminds me a bit of “Tower of Druaga” in many good ways.
I am looking forward to returning to it several times over during the coming weeks.
Thank you for your input on the matter.. It worked as you had stated, it just was not appearing as such in the transmutation window. I just wish it was made more clear and had feared of making a mistake in the process. Perhaps a change in the UI on it would have stopped such a confusion from happening in my case.
Earlier today I tried to trans-mutate the beginner white item “Flame Eye” on my elementalist, as the appearance of it I am rather fond of. But if I try to transmute the item on top of any fine or better quality, the item becomes a “common” item quality and any upgrade slot disappears. It does this on any selected item I try to use this on.
Needless to say I am a bit disappointed by this. I am wondering if there is a solution to this issue that I am unaware of or just a bug that has not been addressed yet.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FIX THIS PROBLEM PLEASE! REMOVE AUTO-KICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, this is a common issue involving party dungeon runs. As of the patch in early October 2013.
There is a automated system that kicks every party member from their dungeon if the leader disbands from that current party.
There is one important reason why this bothers many others and myself. You can lose items on the floor that was not yet obtained.
Just today, my inventory became full after completing the CM dungeon, and I had items laying around on the floor. I was clearing out my inventory so the items on the floor could be picked up, but this never happened because my party leader actually left and everybody in the party was kicked out of the dungeon, because of this the items that were on the floor are now lost.
FIX THIS PROBLEM PLEASE! REMOVE AUTO-KICK!
I’m sure there are many of you out there who had this unfortunate mishap. I guess this could be a thread topic area you could post your misfortune. On that note, hopefully Arenanet can look into this problem and change how this part of the dungeon system works.
Please Fix
I agree, its a big problem. When the person who stared the instance leaves, causing everyone to be kicked out, it becomes a big problem for a variety of reasons. Especially in the case of disconnections. I really hope they find a work around for this issue.
Paying gems/real money for a.. “random chance” for a dye, yah.. no thanks. Great colors locked behind another absurd pay for a chance not pay for an exact item deal. I do not spend money on these type of items and never will. It angers me to no end that games get away with such non-sense. People are fools for even considering spending money on this type of stuff. A great game marred by a horrible gem shop.
I have a great dislike for the lock boxes and how it all works. To me, a vote for Evon and cheaper lock box keys meant a vote for more the lock boxes annoyances. I suspect a lot of people feel the same way. There are many reasons I am sure, but all those reasons add up. In a sense, I voted with my wallet and I would never buy a lock box key for any reason. So Evon got the least of the votes from me (I did send some votes his way mainly for the achievement points, but the rest went to Ellen).
This change to the flute is completely unnecessary and not an improvement. Please revert it back to its former playability.
Apparently(and wiki authors already seem to know more about the later rewards) the multiples of 1000 and 2000 give a Zenith weapon and the multiples of 3000(3k, 6k, 9k) give an armor skin.
Thanks for the info, I was wondering about that.
Have to agree, one of the best updates I have ever had the pleasure of playing in. Everything was fun yet still challenging. I felt the rewards fit the efforts.
Sorry, I have to flatly out disagree. These jumping puzzles are fun because they are challenging. It is one of the strongest points of the game. Bazaar of the Four Winds has been one of the best updates to the game yet.
Yes, of course.
Sorry OP, but you just got really lucky. There are a lot of people that have yet to see any sort of weapon ticket. Either way, its a horrible system and there are threads upon threads explain exactly why it is bad.
Any updates to the fractals will need to include additional update to the reward systems as well, agreed.
As for the jet pack, those specific rewards are intended as limited rewards you can only earn during that time, thus making them valuable. It wouldn’t be fair to the people who did earn jet packs for us to bring them back, and suddenly undercut their value entirely.
And yeah that F&F dungeon updated for size would make a good fractal wouldn’t it? =)
Making neat items available for people to have a chance get again? I fail to see how that would undercut the value of such items. The true value of any of these items are their cosmetic worth, not its rarity. Why do you think people value the molten weapons so much? Its not because of its rarity, but because of how neat looking they are. Making them so impossible to get was biggest issue. And worse, it involved no effort, just plain stupid luck. That is no way to introduce content. Winterday weapons, even now that the event is over, is not valued that much. Its not because of rarity, but because they do not have a large visual value compared to Molten Weapons.
You are fooling yourself if you think the true value of these items are because of its rarity. Its not.
You were just really lucky. There are a lot of people who have put a lot of time or/and money into it and have nothing to show for it. No, its not well done. RNG is a horrible system. It needs to stop. I will give praise to the things A.Net has done well, but this is not one of them. It is the opposite of well done, its horrible.
RAVE: Marjory’s Journal <3
RANT: Freaking hated weapon ticket RNG B.S. Stop with it already, I would have gladly spent quite a few dollars collecting a bunch of weapon skins, but instead we had this crap again. Not getting anymore money from me when it comes to this weapon ticket box SCAM. Just sell the weapon skins via gem store. Who ever came up with this RNG horror needs to be fired and someone else better put in that isn’t screwing the costumer base.
Had the same problem, the last mail I had from the event just disappeared on me. Took me a bit to remember where to go after reading it.
Question for everyone, would you be more or less angry if they added Jade weapon skins to the gem store at the end of the event (July 9th) without announcing that they were going to do that ahead of time?
Far less angry.
Do NOT buy the “rich dragon coffers” from the gemstore if you are looking for tickets. The drop rate is around 1.27%. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rich_Dragon_Coffer/drop_rate)
And you’d think you’d get a fair chance with gemstore purchased coffers. They really need to have the drop % listed on these RNG gemstore items. This is almost like a scam!
“Dragon’s Jade Weapon Skins
Show your Dragon Bash spirit with these cool new weapon skins with a distinctly draconic look. You can find weapon tickets inside Rich Dragon Coffers and (rarely) in Dragon Coffers, and exchange them for weapon skins from Black Lion Weapon Specialists in every major city!” (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/june-11-2013/#new-rewards)^ I don’t know about you guys, but this is VERY MISLEADING
TL;DR: Do not bother with dragon tickets.
Its not like a scam, it is a scam. And it seriously needs to get addressed quickly.
The cut-scene where logan meets the detective was one of the best ever!
I very much agree.
I really like this journal, it was a pleasant surprise. I also really like the cut scene; I enjoy being able to show it to friends that haven’t played in a bit. Gets them inspired. Really like the classic film noir to it. I really like this new character and suspect I will be making quite a few visits to dead end.
I have no idea anymore. Its just not fun.
Weapons look darn good to me. Too bad its practically impossible for most people to get one.
