I am really bothered that the cantha district was taken out after learning about it. The screenshots of it was gorgeous. I find it a lame excuse. Would love to see it returned to its greater glory. It being offensive or disliked, I find it highly hard to believe.
I just want to mention that we have attempted to design this dungeon in a manner that, in a way, makes it very difficult to skip much of anything. We have done extensive internal testing and the general consensus is that trying to skip most of the content ends up being more trouble than it is worth, and the fastest way through is essentially to play through the content as intended.
I know that there will still be doubters, but hopefully the work we have put in towards this goal will contribute to providing the story experience you are hoping for.

I second for having the distinct restored. Or at least give us a chance to see what is underneath. I would love to see a version of this place before it was destroyed. Fractals instances perhaps? To see what happened to the place?
I love this book, its a lot of fun. I wouldn’t mind getting more of these. I was expecting more /command options but this has been entertaining. Thanks for putting more dances for us to use and not something limited to party box. I am looking forward to have more emotes.
Book of Sitting maybe? We have all these chairs going unused.
Also PopeUrban suggestion of using it as a framework for musical instruments is fanastic idea.
I also want to be able to sit in Chairs! They are all over the place yet.. for some bizarre reason, one of the most basic features of an MMO.. sitting in chairs, I cannot do. Did no one think of this when putting all these chairs in the game?
Can we please at least have a sit in chair emote? The lack of emotes in general is horrible to begin with, in dire need to have more.
Thank you for solving that bit of mystery for me. I had not recognized it from that angle but you are right, it is the same. I do hope to see more variety in the future when it comes to appearances such as hair styles. Coming from CoH everything seems limiting in comparison.
From all the excitement of play the game, I was thinking back aways and I felt like something was missing that I was sure was there before when messing with the hair styles. Then I found it, a picture of a missing hair style that was there during 2011 but just seemed to disappeared later on. It was beautiful and had to have been my favorite out of the bunch. Whatever happened to it and why don’t we have it as an option now? Didn’t seem anything wrong with it before.
To hear such baffles me to no end. If anything, Engineers are one of the best professions for dungeoneering. From my experience they are far better in supporting a party then even a guardian. I am surprised I do not come across engineers more often when I play. Perhaps it is something a bit different to the typical archtypes that people do not know what to make of it.
I think it might be a reflection of a deeper issue if people feel the need to do it to get the tokens they want for the items being sold. Means the price of the items are far too high to begin with.
They lost out again from getting money from me. Enough with the gambling crap. Just sell the colors themselves. I am not buying a chance to get the color I want. That is just bad business for me or anyone else. Doesn’t take a lot of common sense.
Having something good and then taken away, the absence doesn’t only make it grow fonder, but grows anger as well. They will want it back. Need only see the reaction of City of Heroes fans to understand an inkling of what that is like. Despite my love of GW2, the hatred of NCsoft still runs hot for me and there are many that won’t touch another game published under NCsoft because of it.
Found myself grinning and smiling with glee as a poked enemies with a stick, dug holes, threw jars, smash tables, jump on the back of gators, and blowing up walls. I kept finding myself looking for vines to swing on, pipes to jump into, or a secret entrance to the water world. I am in love with the Super Adventure Box. I want to see where it goes next. It is something like this that makes me still return to my old nintendo box to play those games I had grew up with. It captured the feeling and essence of those elder yet still fantastic games perfectly.
Super Adventure Box has to be one of the best experiences I have had in this game. Truly this is something that needs to stick around longer then April and continue to expand on for months to come.
Putting these great weapons behind such an idiotic and unfriendly system as a black lions chest is just a slap to the face to the player base. Most players will never actually have a remote chance of getting one because of it or the chance to enjoy it. That’s just bad game play. The situation desperately needs correcting. If Anet wants money, add it to the Gem store. We, as players, shouldn’t have to put up with such non-sense as this and we should demand better treatment then this.
Its from a stupid black lion chest, so yah, pretty much no chance. Better off figuring out a way of getting a lot of gold and buying it off the TP instead if ever someone decides to sell it.
Serious though, don’t buy keys and this stupid lock box practice will die and go away like it should. It should never have been in the game in the first place.
Sorry, but Arena Net needs to take responsibility for dealing with such shady practices to begin with. Just because it can be done, doesn’t mean it should be done. Selling a good product in the gem store is the right way to do it. This gambling box deal is the wrong way. An angry costumer is still a costumer and things like this is pushing me back away from being a costumer in the first place. After the horror of what happened to Paragon Studios and City of Heroes, maybe my friends are right in staying away from NCsoft titles.
I love the game, really I do, but this whole lock box thing, especially with these event weapons, gives me pause to think otherwise.
WTF?!?! Here I thought the weapons could be bought via tokens received from effort in the game, instead another STUPID kitten lockbox scam! Everyone needs to stop buying the kitten keys already, you only screwing yourself and everyone else over.
Also, shame on you ANET and who ever thought of doing this. I was enjoying this patch until it came to this part. Enough with locking things behind a random chance lock box. Its a shady practice and one that should never been allowed in the first place that marks another wise fantastic game. If you just sell this stuff straight out instead of this gambling crap, then maybe ANET can be considered more respectable.

But that is off topic here – Dances. Not selling emotes like this is another horrible missed opportunity, just like putting skins in boxes that rarely ever drops them.
I run into RP everywhere. Completely randomly. I just start acting in character, say a random comment and " BOOM* there is a crowd around me role playing in character with me. I haven’t come across " trolls" as such myself. Even those I come across that don’t really role play have been respective. Other then the TOTAL lack of several emotes and a broken town clothing head option that was working but still ISN’T… and much needed influx of town clothing that was said would be in the game but still ISN’T — its been a great community. Doesn’t mean I do not miss a proper RP MMO like City of Heroes like crazy. ( come on, more emotes more real cosmetic options, not goofy crap like these stupid backpacks)
“Box of Fun” has a some temporary dance moves. WTF? Why aren’t these emotes being sold on the TP instead? Personally, I have craving for new emotes from the very limited selection we have. We cannot even sit in chairs properly! It is obvious these emotes work on our characters. Why aren’t they being added to the Gem Store? Money could easily be made off of this. This is an opportunity that needs to be taken advantage of.
Art of War is WvW oriented. I thought the goal was to bring focus to PvE. Would it not make more sense to use something that was PvE oriented not WvW to be able to do these Guild Missions? This makes no sense what so ever.
Quaggan backpacks, really? Could we have some actually medieval fantasy clothing for a change? Much like the outfits the NPCs wear? How about more emotes? Like an emote to sit in a chair or sit on a ledge? Alternative dances?
Otherwise, curious to see how the rest will come out.
I like the concept of town clothes, but I’m disappointed in the lack of choices available.
I know other people have spoken about this. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in without being absolutely and completely skimmed over as part of someone else’s post.
I have to speak my 2 cents worth on this. For those that think that the chests are not worth it and think that it is just a sham to get more money; think about where ANet have themselves. They are giving us an extremely entertaining, fun and enjoyable gift that none of us has to pay for every month. We bought this game 1 time and then we can have all the game has to offer. Would you rather it be like a Subscription based game? Or would you like them to give items in the market to give an unfair advantage over another player. Everybody has to make money to survive, and that is just what they are doing. Those chests may not be 100% what you want them to be, but it’s not like they are forcing anybody to buy them. Whomever buy’s the chests are doing so from their own free will.
TLDR: Everybody needs to make money, and this is just one way ArenaNet has of doing so.
I’d be giving them money if I have 100% chance to buy directly from the gem store.
That goes for me and a great deal of my playing friends as well too. It is the point I think a lot of people are trying to drive home. People would spend money on the items directly as oppose to this random cash grab such as these chests. Its not fun, we are not enjoying it. If there was a way these items to be offered other then random chests, they would be bought. Instead, we are passing on them and telling others to do the same for a lot of reasons given above in other posts – in and out of game.
That is beauty of it though. There is pros and cons to both shouts vs banners. Everything is situational. I find its more about finding the perfect build for your play style then the ultimate build for everything. For the later, there just no such thing.
Dispite some of the lag issues I had, the event was a blast for me and my friends and was floored by the amazing rewards at the end. Thank you A-Net for putting in the effort in this challenge event and even more so for the rewards at the end. I look forward to whatever might comes next.
The sturdy mining picks, etc. are rather handy. 1300 of those tokens for exotic Lionguard weapon, especially if you use two weapons instead of one, seems way out of whack in context with the other items you can buy from with those tokens.
I do find myself skipping over the idea of making those tokens. Might be worth it for someone else maybe. Especially if you have an overabundance of items collected.
Dungeons! Awesome work guys. D&D old school feel to it. Challenging, interesting, and fun!
More random chests? The random stuff boxes/chests whatever has got to go! No one likes it, no one wants it. If you just sell items like a real shop does, then it we be awesome and probably make more money. The random style stuff makes into a casino. Its a bad game experience. Who ever is charge of it needs to stop. This isn’t Nexon or some other daft game of theirs. Don’t turn it into one.

Less scrupulous is an understatement. We get more stupid random boxes. Apparently no one learned from the failure of the Halloween when it came to that.
Annoyingly no. Reuse would be a far more enjoyable option and might actually encourage more people to buy it. Instead majority of people will probably stay away from it because of it.

Duh, hello!? Casinos? What if you could just go to Casinos and buy yourself what you wanted? I’d go there ONCE, buy myself 100 million dollars, leave, and never come back.
The random chests in GW2 keep you coming back over, and over, and over… You rant all day long, “Just put it in the gem shop”… Why would Anet want to do that? Really, think about it.
Uh, that is the point. A lot of us are not coming back because of the gambling aspect of it. They are losing out because people like us do not buy into that gambling boxes in the first place. Its a shop, you go there to buy the things you want. It is not suppose to be a casino. If it is, then it should be called such. We’re sick of it. If they want our money, then be a shop, not a casino. That is our problem, that is the issue we are having. Whoever is in charge of this stuff needs to put a stop to it or be fired and be replaced with someone who gets their gaming audience.
Recustomizing a character’s look? Definttely needs it. Especially since one could do it in GW1. Just not overly expensive gem shop crap again. Worst enough we have those useless chests.
Just no. If you want PvP, there are places for that in the game already. After experience the dueling in WoW, done in the most annoying way possible toward other people to be disruptive, even in towns.. there is just no place for it in this game.
If you really into mounts.. why just make them combat mounts with their own set of skills when you ride them. One of which temp speed boost like other powers do. Otherwise, same speed as everyone else and all that. It would be like an item people would use instead of using for traveling fast, which I think the game doesn’t need. That way people have their mounts and yet keeps the game balance.
Maybe take a hit from steam, choose to support one distro and grow from there. Ubuntu for example. I know there are linux users who frown on them lately, but they are very stable Distro with flavors for different desktop manager of their choice (aka, other unbuntu flavors).
Dyes were planned to be account bound and they should be account bound. This bound to one character crap is just a money grab. It irks me to no end. Totally discourages people making alts. Its frustrating to have to go find a dye you like for a whole other character yet again. This is not fun and does not add well to the game. Who ever made it this way should be fired.
More dances.. more animations in general. I really miss all the animations I had in City of Heroes kitten you NCsoft for closing one of the best MMO’s around and only decent superhero MMO. )
