What I’m curious about is what are the people who don’t want the mini’s supposed to do with these things? I’m sitting on 700, and I have absolutely no use for them. Can’t sell them because their account bound, can’t use them for anything else, though a recipe for the unbreakable bell would be great, and NPC’ing them seems like a waste even if I won’t use them.
No qualms with anything you posted besides:
“and the music event was Guitar Hero only you have to unbind/rebind your keys just to play it….and then fix them after.”
Erm, since when? I’m sitting on multiple perfect scores, mostly high and middle parts, and I haven’t touched my key bindings once. The only thing that gets changed when I do that minigame is camera angle. I know quite a few people, myself included, really enjoy this game, even though it lacks song variety. Lag aside, and I mean no offense to anyone, it just seems like the people who don’t enjoy it aren’t willing to put the time into figuring it out.
Just make use of them.
Find nearby event, champs included > lure dolls to event > watch as they complete it
Seriously, not even the champs in this game can stand up to those dolls. Go try it.
You’re mistaken, it has to be any combination of the Festive Golem, Infinarium, and Snowman, duplicates allowed.
So yeah, you have to pay for it to be able to craft him.
I was wondering which of the endless tonics can jump and do the emotes like normal players can. I know the toy soldier and the princess doll can and the toy ventari can’t. What about the griffon and toy golem? Thanks
Griffon and toy golem can both jump, but nothing else.
At least a MF recipe would be nice, I was contemplating posting a thread, but I doubt anyone from Anet would respond.
Something like 250 consumable bells (or more) , gears, glue, and some fourth item
Is this tonic supposed to not have the “rubik’s cube” animation that the mini has? I like the tonic nevertheless, it’s amusing floating around as that strange pyramid golem and punching things, but I’m still curious.
^ Which proves the topic starter point. The player in that video only plays halves at most, while both the original song and the songs you play in the Choir Bell activity go up to quarters at the very least.
Not that it will ever be changed, for fear of abuse.
Might want to come back with a basic knowledge of music theory. He was definitely playing faster than half notes.
Yeah, the consumable and unbreakable bells are different from the game bell. Shame tho, you can’t play fast notes.
Debatable, you just need a good connection.

I’d like to point out that Toxx is GLaDOS.
Yep, tomorrow’s stop she’ll start releasing deadly neurotoxin, and the day after that she’ll start dropping personality cores. Once she shows up above LA, Chell will too.

The Wintersday log cake is a lie?
The fruitcakes a lie!
Does GW2 have those? Dunno, I still stand by this statement
sings…Killing me softly with his song……
These things are not what I would describe as ‘soft’. More like ‘jarring’.
Both of you win the Internet, you will be receiving a cookie in the mail within 5-7 business days.

Assassin was fine in GW1, sure, you had things like BB sins, and later BB wars once it got adjusted, but that still took a knowledge of timing to be able to do well. It wasn’t a “set up and win” class like thief is now. Maybe, just maybe, ANet will wake up and modify thief to something much like assassin from GW1, a strong class when used properly, but nothing that stands out from other classes in the hands of a bad player.
None of them, until people realize that it makes no sense to price a crafted item for less than it costs to craft, so in all likelihood, probably never.
The fact that crafting can’t be done for profit isn’t ANet’s fault, it’s the communities fault. Some genius thought that it would make sense to price items made from stuff that cost 3-5s, such as Omnomnom Berry Bars at less than what the price of making it is, and everyone just followed suit. I was about to make a rant thread on this very topic, but realized it would just get trolled because most people are incredibly ignorant. Maybe one day people will realize if you pay 5s to craft something it should sell for at least that, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
I can’t give an exact number, but at a rough estimate:
Tier 2:
0/14-15
Haven’t gone past level 15, I’ll update once (if) I get a ring and progress further
like always, JQ and SBI playing fair, but the third -insert server- has to bring the hack strategies
kinda funny people actually believed someone was going to hide for 2-3 hours then suddendly say ‘’here we go’’, nobody believes that since hackgate days
Like always, someone thinking they know everything and throwing out accusations left and right. I swear, if some of you guys devoted half the energy you put into complaining, or accusing other servers of god knows what, you might actually be beneficial to your server.
The minority speaks for the server now? Well, I guess I’m a cheating no life twelve year old. One second, let me start spamming this thread with “WAI U GUYS BISH SO MUSH, CAPS LAWK FTW”.
Boy if thats the case, then all of SBI must be whining jealous idiots, because I see a few people do it, that means you all do that, right?
Yeah, assumptions are stupid, aren’t they?
They ran rampant in GW1, many a festival you would find yourself with the a message stating there were too many miniatures in the district. My guess is nobody has found anything they want to bother showing off yet. If character birthday presents function the same as GW1 and give mini’s, then you’ll likely start to see considerably more of them.
All this complaining from SBI is going to get them unintentionally double teamed. It’s pretty obvious SoS is already tired of your crap, myself included, and it’s only a matter of time before JQ gets tired of it too (if they aren’t already) and starts going after SBI just to ruffle feathers.
World V World V Drama
Just provide a WvW NPC that sells a sort of “transmutation stone” for each armour/weapon slot (for say 100-300 badges per stone) that ups the stats of an exotic item to be on par with that of an ascended item.
Me WvW player only, me special, me shouldn’t have to get 50 ectos and 250 T6 mats + an account bound drop cause PvE stoopid.
That’s pretty much what I’m getting from all the whining about Ascended gear I’ve seen.
Well , fact is , from all the useless tries to justify their mistakes , devs already said.
The amount of stuff required is FAR to high , remm that “you dont need to grind you soul for stats” ? In theory that is still up for them on some level , which means those stupid costs for ascension gear are going down eventually. That IF devs actually intend to keep what they say this time , which really … means nothing.
Then legendary weapons should be addressed first as the gear grind for those is much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much worse.
Not saying it should be easy to get a legendary, but grinding for 400 hours (about what it takes) isn’t legendary, that’s just a waste of time.

Meta shifts were what made GW1 (at least the pvp aspect, and to some extent, pve as well) interesting. All the whacky builds you would see running around in the first day after a meta shift was fun, up until GW2 became the focus and those just stopped happening, which is understandable. Now, were lucky if we even get a meta nudge, just because there is truthfully barley anything to work with. Sure, easy balance, but it takes away a lot of the fun/originality. I’d be willing to bet money sPvP would be a lot more active if people had more to experiment with.
I disagree, if the four other players can’t carry the MF player, the group is probably bad.
Leave troll, go back to whatever bridge you came from and stay there. Literally nine words into the post, and you can’t even read that far to see I told you to keep your crap out of this thread.
@Blueshield:
It makes perfect sense, the drop rate is going to be lower than what you would find in other games that don’t have a feature such as MF, in order to make people want to use it, this means the people that don’t use it essentially get screwed over on drops. In all likelihood we’ll never get a drop worth any money, a legendary is practically impossible for us, rare skins are out of the question unless the mystic toilet gives us something good, unless we give up and start being greedy like all the other selfish jerks that are slowly starting to take over this game. What the poster I replied to stated was that one person using MF gear is having a direct impact on the drops of others – reducing their odds by increasing your own. That is empirically, provably, false.
Just because magic find is there and you aren’t using it doesn’t mean you’re somehow getting lower-value drops than ANet intended you to get. You’re getting exactly the amount that the devs intended. If you use MF gear, you’re getting more than intended.
You seem to be missing the point that the “amount intended” by the devs is much lower then you would find in a game that does not have a function such as MF. Why is that? Because the function is present. As I stated, if you even want a chance of getting a drop you can make money off of, you’re basically forced to use MF. The rest of us are stuck never being able to afford anything “rare” because we would rather use useful upgrades.
The problem with these threads is that they rarely have ANY sollutions presented on how to deal with the issue.
Everyone just says “remove”, “fix”, without actually suggesting HOW.I made a thread about 2 possible ways to deal with Magic Find:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Sollution-to-Magic-Find-Customization/first
That’s because no matter how you break it down, removal is the solution. As long as the feature is present in an armor upgrade, it will always promote people to be greedy, even at the expensive of hindering their team.

Really this subject is tiresome, and yet i feel the need to come here and post again and again , so Anet does not think this is a one side idea.
DONT remove the MF , it is the players choice.
Honestly , people that does not want to pay for a MF set or dont want to wear it, i dont even waste my time on hearing. Get the set , get the bonus. It is a choice. Dont like it? That is ok also, just forget the bonus , that is all that is gonna happen.
For the problem IN dungeons , i agree that maybe Anet could find a solution , it is true players should be able to pick if they want MF or not , but dungeons require a bit more planing to work and thus people should be focused on the task of finishing it.
Like always this is the simple opinion of me and others tons of people that actually like MF.
Yes, you’re right, I don’t want to spend the money for it, because guess what, I could be spending that money on much more useful runes, like Dwayna and Water runes, which I believe are currently at around 2 gold a piece. Much more of a worthy investment than “greed runes”.
Sorry OP, but all I’m getting from threads like this is “There are people out there whose play styles differ from my own. This is unacceptable and simply must stop.”
Fortunately, I will continue to play this game as I see fit, rather than as some elitist on a power trip believes I should play.
So much for “no trolling”. Read the entirety of my post next time, it was literally 9 words in.
I’m no “elitist on a power trip”, I’m a guy who came from 5 years of GW1 and had zero issues with the economy or the drop rate there, and then anet spins on a dime and changes it completely to appease the elitists who would rather screw over everyone else just to get better stuff for themselves. You’ve apparently missed every single post detailing why this stat promotes greediness.
Not a bad idea in theory
BUT
Those titles don’t mean anything either
High hero ranks could be obtained incredibly easily just by gathering up a group of semi competent players and digging up a good meta build. Champ rank was arguably a little harder for a while, but as the game progressed, boiled down to the same thing. Find group of relatively smart people > find good meta build > roll faces. Or, pay large amount of money > join group of experienced players in some minor, barley used role > easy champ points. Same could be said in that regard for fame as well.
“I feel like there are plans for these kinds of things in the works. Ever notice how the order bases have these locked and unusable asura gates already set up?”
Those get unlocked as you progress through your personal story.
On topic, I like this idea. Choosing an order never seemed to have much of an impact on my experience.
I agree, pretty dramatic build up for not that great an ending.
Oh, you joined an order, cool. Oh, guess what, your order joined an order. Oh that old order? Nah, there was really no point to that.
^ kinda what it seems like right now
No

From what I’ve observed, it always seems like the person who gets the most crystals ends up getting a ring. I don’t carry around crystals with me, because heaven forbid I’m trying to actually kill the tentacles, and seems more often than not the only reward I get is more repair costs. Gotta love those great team play rewards.
You lay out a solid argument for removing the magic find stat, but I disagree with a portion of your reasoning and your conclusion.
MF is a mechanic that for the most part replaces otherwise much more useful upgrades, and in essence, promotes being greedy.
That is absolutely true. However, it’s presented as one option for gear among many. The only force pushing players towards focusing on Magic Find as a stat is their own greed. Statting for Magic Find is not a gameplay imperative which gives anyone a tangible combat edge over one another, compared to the acquisition of maximum-tier gear for WvWvW, for example.
How can you call an economy balanced when people have massively higher (though still incredibly low) chances of getting a drop actually worth money than everyone else?
Magic Find doesn’t imbalance the economy in any way. Every player has the option of statting for Magic Find if (s)he chooses. It’s certainly possible that the market would look quite different without the option for Magic Find, but it is an option for everyone, and is therefore balanced. If there was some factor preventing certain players from acquiring Magic Find gear while allowing others, there might be some merit to claims of imbalance.
Do I support people wearing Magic Find gear into high-level Fractals, putting the success of the group at risk? No. But they can choose to stat however they want, just as I can choose not to run with people geared in such a manner. I don’t believe the answer is to restrict players’ gear choices, simply because some players don’t have the common sense to gear “properly” for a given endeavor.
Yes, but lets be honest, looking at the majority of players in any game, how many would prefer to help the masses (in this case, by using more useful upgrades and not dying), and how many would prefer to help themselves? If you give people an option to further their own progression and disregard others, nine out of ten times they will always pick themselves.
What jobah says is true as well. I’ve said it many times, and I’ll say it again. This game is slowly turning into the modern Silkroad Online.
Touch rangers, lich spike, bspike, FC bspike, para spike, and all the others I forgot. Pretty much all of those would be possible cept para spike, since we don’t have any classes running around in skirts shouting at people anymore.
Completely support. Forget everything else, do this next, for the reason that it would be really fun, and really funny to laugh at the people who have no idea what any of this is.
First off, keep this clean. No flaming, no raging, no trolling. Saying you agree or disagree with a reason is all you need to do.
Secondly, not really a petition, just couldn’t think of a better way of phrasing it.
Reasoning;
As of right now, MF is a mechanic that for the most part replaces otherwise much more useful upgrades, and in essence, promotes being greedy. How can you call an economy balanced when people have massively higher (though still incredibly low) chances of getting a drop actually worth money than everyone else? The ONLY time I have used MF gear was from about 50-70 when I was playing almost exclusively by myself, and if I died, that was my fault. Now at level 80 consistently running high levels of Fractals, and WvW when I’m bored I haven’t even looked at MF gear. Guild Wars 1 did almost everything in terms of drops completely right, no single person had a higher chance of getting a rare drop then anyone else in terms of statistics. Sure, farming pretty much was the endgame of GW1, but even if you compared someone who did nothing but farmed to someone who did nothing but HA (and actually had the “knowledge” to make it to halls) they both had an equal chance of getting something worth a substantial amount of money. An approach similar to this would be much more balanced than what we have to work with now.
(edited by Toast.6459)
now you’re gonna have to tough it out and grind your kitten off like intended.
Like intended indeed.
All of these mats and precursors topics wouldn’t exist if everyone played legit by the way.
Why? because the legendary would actually hold a legendary status and be recognized as a weapon that only players who invested a considerable amount of time achieved.Hell, I doubt anyone would own a legendary if we had today’s market from release.
They wouldn’t, and the people who have 2+, or the ones with Eternity definitely wouldn’t.
I myself am dying to find out more about this weapon, as axes are my favourite. I believe it may in fact be the 1 Scroll + 50 Coins + 50 Molten Lodestones + 50 Destroyer Lodestones, judging by the cost the person is trying to flog it for. If it required Liquid Flame you would think it would be at least over 200.
To add to that, no one seems to have posted any “in use” videos or pictures of it anywhere so it begs the question whether it affects weapon attack effects like Volcanus does? The axe conjured by ele’s doesn’t have any fire effects until swung so the preview wouldn’t help decide whether it has added bonuses or not. I don’t want to gamble/save up the money for one without confirmation about its bonuses as I am not the best at gaining money and am at an all time high currently!
Edit: The recipe I posted is listed on the Wiki as a second “Reaver of the Mists*” which ofc it isn’t so that is why I deduced it could be that one when considering the current price.
Edit2: Btw Anet, the OP has the correctly spelt name as his title, but the item in question is actually written as, “Titans’ Vengance” so you might want to fix that heh.
250 of the stones or 50? If it’s just 50, I might grab the ingredients and toss it in to let you know if thats right.
I would wager molten lodestones and a vial of liquid flame would probably be part of it, mystic coins probably too. No clue about the 4th piece.
Using master kits (or whatever the 15s ones are), no noticeable drop in ectos at all. Have I had rares give me none? Yep. Have I had rares give me 3+? Yep. Nothing changed, people just freak out when they don’t get a rare drop every two seconds.
Going to be interesting to see how all these people deal with the boss when he starts applying agony. Not really sure why you guys find the bombs, of all things, to be so much trouble. A well placed reflection skill knocks them all back at him, and knocks out a considerable chunk of his health as well. A PUG group is no excuse, you just need to have someone step up and take control.
it would not be legendary if you could do it with in a week
Its not legendary now. It hasn’t been since day one. Running around orr farming mobs for a month straight isn’t legendary in the slightest. Even the scavenger hunt that will supposedly be implemented for precursors doesn’t sound legendary, just more kitten running around, and then you still have to farm the ~500g and ~800k karma.
500g? wow that’s nice, I wish that’s how much I’ve actually spent so far.
As for the powerful bloods post – try the Skelks above the JP waypoint at bottom right of the map.
That isn’t counting the cost of a precursor. Maybe a little closer to 600-700g, but still, the precursor is a large chunk of the cost of a legendary.
Psh, you think 70-80 is bad, try running around with zero. I don’t plan on ever switching to MF gear, but I still think it’s incredibly dumb that I have to sacrifice other much more useful things to have a .1% higher chance of getting something I can actually make money off of. GW1 had nothing of the sort, granted you could also kill large amounts of mobs much faster, but it still kept the rare drops rare and the economy pretty well balanced. PvP players had their chance at expensive items with the halls chest and Zaishen chest, PvE players had their chance at rare drops with bosses and dungeons. I played for five years and got one drop that got me a large amount of money, but you know how long that money lasted me? Up until the day GW2 came out, you know long most “rare drops” (exotics) profits will last you? About a day.

I know my post is the last one on page 1 but, it might help if you realize it’s only a 10% boost. NOT the 20%-50% some are making up.
Orichalcum Rings are +67/48/48 points with an upgrade slot for a jewel. Jewels are +25/15/15. Totaling 92/63/63 or 218 points.
Acsended rings are 103/68/68 or 239 total points with an Infusion only upgrade slot. Which is about a 10% increase, right?
Now, the new back items are about an 18% increase. Though back pieces needed a boost as they have been under powered. I’ve never even had enough Gold to purchase a Guild Back pack yet. So, the new items having a plentiful drop rate was welcomed.
Yes, I agree I do not like being forced to run Fractals. But, it’ll only be for a couple of weeks I tell myself. Though I’m aware I’ll be forever feeling without and near hopelessly grinding away to play catch up to the wealthy in this game anyway. This market functions around on a “winner take all” mentality when it requires more of a perpetual game theory enacted. Fun or entertainment rarely enters my mind anymore….
Thank you.
While were complaining about ascended gear, how about we remove exotics from WvW, scale everyone down to masterwork items, because having exotics makes it unfair for the people who aren’t level 80. Oh and no food buffs, boosters, etc, those make it too hard to kill people or give them too much damage. And you know what, lets remove healing too, that makes it much more of a pain to kill somebody, they should just drop in 3 hits.
Lol, the gear will be mandatory. learn some math. 20%+ improvements to stats without the infusions. Not trivial.
Not sure where you’re getting 20%, even with the upgraded infusions, it isn’t nearly that much. You might want to check your math, sounds like you haven’t even looked at the ascended gear, let alone owned any.
The Jade Kraken was a boss in GW1, though not by that name, possibly a reference to that? Doesn’t explain why it would be on the floor in a random instance though.
I’m confused to why people overhype agony still. I’m sitting at level 12, and haven’t had issues with agony yet. Granted I have passive heals, 2 heals I can pop on demand, and then tome of courage to turn me into pretty much a walking tank, but even the three ele’s I ran level 11 with didn’t have issues with it.
There will be a patch to address this issue.
3 days later – any update on this?
Just wondering, because I spent about 25 minutes LFG for a 10, but finally did a 9.
After completing the 9, we went to 10 – same group.
Had a DC on the dredge level after the tank boss (before the golem).
4 manned the golem.
3rd fractal was the Charr – bugged and wouldn’t start, so abandoned.
Spent another 30 minutes LFG for a 10, and finally got one.
As soon as we zone in, someone leaves (still in Dessa’s lab) for an emergency.
Spend another 20 minutes finding another 5th (mostly suppressed – all 4 of us).
Run the 10.
2 people got rings, and 3 didn’t.
Well over an hour of waiting, a full 9 run, a 2 fractal 10 run (10 manning the Ice Elemental dredge boss), and a full 10 run, and no ring.
And it seems we’re supposed to get one – at least our 1st time completing 10?
Just really curious what is actually supposed to happen.
Theres a chance you might get one, or you can wind up with what you would normally get. I got greens and a bag of gold from the Jade Maw chest on level 10, pretty disappointing reward, one member on the other hand got a ring. It’s all about luck.
This would completely remove the need for ascended items, so no, it does not work.
Also, contemplation of purity, guardian’s passive condition removal, any other condition removal skills do not remove agony, so its not a condition.
