WvW and the expansion

Burning question, will we be locked out of the new WvW map if we don’t purchase the expansion? If yes, unfair balance choo choo.

I can see it now, guilds requiring players to have the expansion to join.

Reason why we should stop mixing tiers.

Its only spawn camping in EB, since the exits are so close together and its even worst if they have a waypoint in your keep. In the BL’s its a little harder.

This sucks, I know, I’m in T3.

But matchups are determined by how well servers preformed the week before. So if you’re not moving tiers, it just means your still scoring higher than the servers below you to drop down or for them to come up.

You can’t really do matchups by server population because of the inconsistency of PvE to WvW players.

What Anet can do is lower the player cap on specific matchups, but then you wouldn’t hear the end of it from a much larger population of players.

I find that its easier to abandon WvW on matchups like these and go play EotM for a week or two.

We we’re 3rd last week, so I dunno about doing well. Sure we’re beating mag this week, but I’m not sure thats much of an achievement.

Y’all miss very important point here – our server is extremely small in WvW comparing to EBay. Their ‘small’ spawn camping (and yes, they did put siege but we achieved destroying it, thankfully) is annoying as hell, since a) screenshots are after killing some of them; b) even going other way we were gettin wiped by few times more people; c) they’re just bunch of pugs that solo mean nothing but in zerg they still kill our skilled players and experienced commanders. That’s definitely not fair.

And, yeah, there was also some random uplvls that were getting farmed over and over because they didn’t get the stuation (wvw newbies?). We tried countersiege, we tried flanking, we did shout out to all other maps and guilds, we still couldn’t do a thing. We were just heavily outnumbered.

But hey, higher tiers of course have worse. Like always. Actually, we were on higher tier from our beginning with GW2, but transferred down to avoid BMing and mindless zergs following some childish commander that loves to troll. Sadly, EBay still is like this. And still gets matches with our small team.

Again, it was a small group of randoms. Your minimap shows that you have roughly equal numbers, and so if you couldn’t manage a push and didn’t feel like building an omega or two to scatter them, you could have gone out either of the other two exits or, better still, split in two and gone out both.

As pugs, assuming they even noticed, they’d have gone one way or the other. Then your main spawn is clear and everybody is free. Simple.

And your population isn’t really smaller than Ehmry – we’ve watched you blob all week (and brag about it), and you have way more daytime coverage than we do. What you do, that has turned out to be fatal, is all apparently go to bed early every night (like, halfway through prime time) so all of your stuff is rapidly papered as a result.

Again, count your green dots and look at the people blockading you in the screenshot. You’re roughly equal, and they’re far from home. It’s barely a spawn camp.

Trying to save face for your server, thats all I see. Have fun with it though, its quite amusing.

Reason why we should stop mixing tiers.

Toast.6459

Try having 2 queued enemy servers standing outside your spawn waiting for you to come out. On all 4 maps. What you’re facing is nothing

When you can fill all four maps then sure, when you can barley muster 20 people on a good day, its far from nothing. We don’t all play on servers with hundreds of people that do wvw.

Reason why we should stop mixing tiers.

Spawn camping at its best? Then they must cover the two other exits as well, that is spawn camping at his best.

This is at most teasing at spawn imo.

Stop trying to justify bm

You also completely ignore the fact that if you go out the other exit to do anything, they’ll just follow you. We’re not morons, we tried.

New ability added:

Marshal Trahearne: “Racial skill. You are permanently British. Any time one of your allies finishes an event, you get credit for completing it instead. Whenever a boon is applied to you, you steal all boons, food effects, and utility effects from all party members.”

Taken from the wiki

This is the kind of stuff I was talking about, we need super imbalanced, super weird, super amusing skills like this, just for a day.

I forgot about these too, funny stuff:
The Black Beast of Arrgh now appears only on Friday when the next day is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards.
Revive as One: "Elite Skill. You and your pet are resurrected with 75% Health and 75% Energy. Can only be cast if both you and your pet are dead.
“By Ural’s Hammer!”: this skill now resurrects all creatures in all missions and explorable areas across all servers.
All minipets are required to have licenses and be kept on leashes when within outpost limits. Players will be fined 500 gold for every pet in violation of the leash laws. Licenses are available from the Guild Wars In-Game Store.

and because even ANet liked to tease us about how annoying we were when it came to waiting on GW2

Added the Patience title track. A player’s progress toward this title is based entirely on the length of time since the player last sought information about the Guild Wars 2 release date. Elapsed time can be checked by typing “/gw2” which prints, “You have inquired about the release date <x> time(s) and have lasted <x> minutes since your last inquiry.”

Modernized Commando skills with their unique Vehicle Utilities and Kill Streak Burst. No Attack Range, just use of line of sight and camera angle.

GW2 Remastered Ascalon starting sequence as everyone travels back in time to chase the devious time traveling Flame Legion construct set on a path to kill… Adelbern, in an attempt on assassinating him during the Searing, years before the Foefire and destroying the space time continuum. In the end of a long struggle that sends the players to a near death situation… Gwen saves the day by unleashing the Searing herself, and causing the destruction of Ascalon, but in turn destroying the Flame Legion construct and saving Adelbern so he can secure his fate in forever dooming Ascalon in the future.

GW1 always had really ludicrous patch notes put out on April Fools, if you ask me, GW2 should implement some of those really ludicrous things, a lot of what was posted in the patch notes was terribly unbalanced, obviously, but still sounded really fun to mess around with for a day, so it’d be cool to see.

Gifts exploding with nobody on them, pretty sure that isn’t intentional

The gifts are supposed to explode at the start to create a random path blocker, so that is not a bug.

Alright, well it would still be nice if they didn’t respawn and then immediately explode like they do now, I recall that happening once and it triggered the entire explosion sequence all over again when the rest respawned, making for an even longer wait.

I’m not saying theres anything game breaking, just a lot of small, annoying things for which fixes would be appreciated.

Yes, snowflakes do melt in front of you, I can’t tell you how to reproduce it, it just happens. You’ll either lose valuable time and possibly die, or end up with nowhere to go and have the snowflake under you melt

Toast.6459

I’m honestly not sure why it was changed to begin with, the way it works now is nothing short of annoying, sure it was slower before, but at least I didn’t have to deal with annoying bugs keeping me from completing it. Such as:

Snowflakes in front of me melting, forcing me to wait 3-5 seconds until they reappear. Really? That’s not even logically explainable
Snowflakes behind me starting to melt as soon as I start, while not a serious problem to people who know the puzzle, it is to the people who have never done it before
Exploding presents exploding for no reason, pretty much speaks for itself
Falling through the presents in front of the box you’re supposed to jump into, if that’s intentional, at least mention it somewhere

Challenging is one thing, annoying because of bugs is a whole different snowball

I find middle to be the easiest, not by performance, but it usually is the melody part which makes it easier to remember.

I agree with Toast that high is the most difficult. We will do our best =3

You mean you aren’t able to master the lasers so its to hard.. hmmm took a few attempts to learn how the lasers run and tbh I don’t see any issues with it as long as players are willing to learn.
This dungeon is the first one in GW2 imo that requires a bit more than “link zerker gear or don’t apply”… it requires a bit of working out.. use a runner to lay down AOE or signets to grab aggro from the golems.. rest run the lasers and when the small laser catches up, simply jump up on the crates to avoid jump back down and keep targeting the golems.. not really that hard.

The worst part for me is 3 times now the group has got passed the Fizz room got chest, carried on into next Aetherblade mobs, then all of a sudden we all get booted out to LA.. maybe someone leaves or DC’s and the rest of us get thrown out as well… but this is another issue for them to sort!

To avoid lasers is easy but there is no way how to counter golems pull and if they will pull you you will die in 70% times.
And there is also problem, maybe bug, when lasers appearing they can appear right where you are and again this mean certain death.
Dungeon is not too hard but this part realy needs improvements.

the bars that the lasers shoot out of come out before they turn on, it is easy to avoid

But there is still golem pull which will get you right in laser. And if you stand on box you just have no chance to avoid it.

Stability for the win.

Dungeon shoud be doable for all classes not only for those with stability or aegis…

I should also be able to join any group I want and not be expected to be a war in full zerker armor, or a mindless haste spamming mes. Funny thing is, I can’t do that. GW2 created a system worse than the trinity, it created the “this class and this armor or lolkick” system.

Protip, find a guard, follow that guard. Guards have two AoE stability skills, and an AoE aegis skill. If said guard has half an ounce of intelligence, he’ll use at least one of them.

Programmers will tell you that code can sometimes interact very differently between test servers and live servers.

Mmm, no, they won’t, because it doesn’t. What players do “with” that code is how you get bugs and unforeseen occurrences. That’s why you test things, what server it’s on has nothing to do with that.

More so, code has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that this event seems pretty badly planned. Activities are lackluster and not really enjoyable, the 100k candy required for wings is just completely illogical, only thing I don’t really have any complaints about are the rewards, those are what they are. The events in GW1 were enjoyable for seven years, and those never changed besides a few tiny tweaks. Dragon Arena was fun and required more than just ganking and luck. Rollerbeetle races were enjoyable because you actually got to participate in the race, not just click one button and watch AI do the rest. It’s not “unfounded complaining” as you would call it, it’s disappointment that events have turned into lackluster releases such as this.

Oh and about the programming thing, when you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t try to act like you do. Just some friendly advice.

Honestly I’d rather see an approach like that brought back, except maybe not the damage increase since that could prove a bit unbalanced, maybe 10-20% MF or something.

Lol. There’s a word that would be quite fitting for you, but I’ll go with ignorant instead. A real MMO should eliminate farming and create actual enjoyable content that accomplishes the same purpose. If you want thousands of mindless hours of grinding, there are plenty of games that offer that. The last thing this game needs is more mindless grinding, and more people supporting it.

Okay. Please turn in your legendary weapons and crafted exotics and then gather your materials very, VERY slowly like the rest of us have to do. Talking down to farming when you already own all your stuff and don’t need it is ignorance.

I’ve wasted none of my time farming, I do not plan to waste time farming, and until legendary weapons are turned into more than a mindless worthless grind, I have no plan on wasting time on one of those either. All my time spent playing this game was spent playing it how I wanted to, what I felt was enjoyable. Farming is hardly a part of any good MMO, and should never be considered as such.
