Positioning can be useful too. If you get yourself centered right on certain platforms you’ll just end up bouncing back to the very edge of the platform behind you instead of falling off.
The only really issue with harpies is the set right at the beginning of the fractal, where you have to climb spiral path up while they rain kitten down on you. Most of the time you have to pan your camera at pretty odd angles to see whats going on. By comparison the set of harpies right after Old Tom is totally manageable, even though there are more of them there.
Oh and while we at it… Dear ANet, please reduce health pools on prisoners (ettin and shaman mostly). They take just way too freakin long to kill (opinion based on 40+).

If you’re not counting literal seconds for your run, crafting the most efficient machine of a group as you can, there is really no point in cherry picking players by level when any will do.

If you have a guard and he’s not running wall of reflection, shield of the avenger, and stand your ground, he’s doing something wrong. You can cycle those almost infinitely.

Sorry but lvl 38 is too much. I’d kick you too if I were still running that. I don’t care what you claim you’ve seen but a lvl 38 thief is not going to have the survivability, ability set, traits or even the dmg to contribute in any meaningful way to a team.
If level up is what you are after it’s far faster simply just to solo explore the world map doing heart and events.
If tokens are what you are after and you still want that exp boost then just use your lvl 80 and ask for permission to switch to your lvl 38 before boss.
The one thing that’s truly rude and frankly simply not efficient is to show up with a lvl 38 in a team of all 80s and expect them to carry you through the whole dungeon, which let’s not kid ourselves is the only way you’d be able to go through that dungeon with that setup not to mention it would take longer than if you just simply used the 80 and switched to your other char before boss.

I don’t mind killing them, most groups are pretty understanding anyway. My group earlier wanted to, but I explained I was running short on time and asked if we could skip, and none of them minded. I guess it just depends on the people, but with most people you can reach a consensus pretty easily without upsetting anyone.
Easy solution, ignore them and keep killing it. If their whining about it, they should be on another game.

I’m pretty sure the guardian trait that reduces fall damage doesn’t even work, so if that’s true, a new trait really would be nice, something that works at least.
I use em if I see em, never played an ele, but I know how to use them all effectively.
Wtb more earth shields please, I do enjoy my invuln (or extra invuln, if I’m running whatever that guardian elite is, slipping my mind) and pulling people off of stuff with it. Good fun, and quite handy.
It isn’t that bad compared to others. Ever looked at The Minstrel or Meteorlogicus? Never has “What you see is what you get” been more accurate, the picture the wiki shows shows it all. No visible particle effects, no footprints, no skill modifications, nada. Neither of these were modified in any way in the update either, even the moot got tweaked, and mace is one of the most underused weapons.

Agree. I saw The Minstrel and pretty much went “Woo, it’s a harp, guess I won’t be wasting time making that”. Meteorlogicus, pardon my spelling, is pretty disappointing too. The skin looks pretty cool, but it literally does nothing. No new spell animations, no footprint, no (visible) particle effects, nothing.
Bang on the money. Since support roles weren’t supposed to exist in this game, they don’t get squat for it. If I’m with a group and we aren’t going for something important, a keep/tower or such, I’ll just use tome of courage as my own personal panic button, because no matter how many times I save my teammates butts, don’t get jack crap for it.
Thats exaggerating a tad, if I notice 3-4 people low on health around me I will pull it out and hit LoD, but it has been serving more as my own panic button then a support skill like it’s intended to be.

You have to make some inferences. We can assume that Toxx (Gladdos) told the skritt they could participate in Wintersday or something of that nature by doing what they did, and obviously when they got turned into princess dolls, that ruined Wintersday for them. Clever scheme by Gladdos to make more princess dolls? Actually attempting to spread cheer? Who knows.

Guild halls and player housing are supposed to be coming sometime in the future. I’m hoping for massive guild halls, something like half a WvW map would be great, a full WvW map would be cool too, but thats probably asking too much.
Were the NPC’s removed entirely, or just those specific items? I haven’t logged in to see, but I assume the NPC’s were removed entirely. Aside from the NPC that sold hats for a week after the event in GW1, all holiday stuff was removed promptly at 3am EST on whatever day the event ended.
Orbs were removed because they were being exploited. Anyone want to guess what the solution to this is going to be? Take a stab at it.

At this point that isn’t a terrible idea. With the exploits, culling issues, and all the rage WvW is causing, if there is something else to fill the void, removing WvW while the issues are fixed might not be a bad idea.

There is not and will not be something to fill the void. So are you making that statement so that people will flame you or just to cause hate and discontentment?
The first part was a joke playing off the removal of orbs, don’t get your pants in a knot over it.
However I do think that with where we are right now, removing WvW might not be a bad idea until all the various issues are addressed, mainly culling and cheating. It would certainly eliminate a good chunk of the rage currently present in this community.
Will I get flamed for that suggestion? Yeah, probably, I’m used to it. Did I intend it to cause hate? Nope. Will it? Yep, most likely. People in this community get so riled up over the smallest things, many of them need to learn that going “keyboard commando rage mode” does not get your point across, it just gives everyone the impression you’re immature.

Question answered. >.>I love the trident actually, it has a lot of healing potential and generates combo fields. Sure it isn’t great at damaging but that’s not what it’s supposed to be for. I see the spear and trident as opposites more or less — one is for damage and the other is for support. I use both equally.
That would be great if it actually mattered in WvW. How many large groups do you see underwater? Next to none.
The healing doesn’t matter in 1v1 if the damage sucks, most classes regen alone can out heal the damage from a trident
Spear has god awful range for some reason, it’s a ranged weapon, yet for some reason I pretty much have to be standing on top of the guy to get a hit
People say eles are the worst class underwater, I disagree, guardian takes that award no contest.
Bad RNG rates are bad RNG rates, thats what it boils down to.
Most presents I opened all at once was around 1250 = nothing worth mentioning
250 presents = Endless Toymaker’s Tonic after about 50 presents
It’s all in the random luck, which I still disagree with, but thats how it is right now
If you find them on your side you will find them fighting just as hard as you for whatever goal you are fighting for, whether it be defense, yak killing, golem rush. I’m sure they get alot of tells though, and one mentioned to me that Anet doesn’t really want them talking much. It might be that he just got so many whispers it was easier to just ignore them and pretend it was against the rules, I dunno. It was fun though, and he helped us kick FA butt that night.
I always send them a quick/simple, “Thanks for showing up and hanging out,” and move along. I know from first-hand experience as a GM in another game that it isn’t fun getting constant questions/complaints, so I try to mix it up a bit for them.
Look at us, all huddled around the ArenaNet tag, prodding the poor person as though they’re a lab rat and demanding some kitten results. Our previous efforts don’t seem to have worked; the subject has retained emotional calm and a polite outward demeanor. Hypothesis: not enough flaming, insults, and questions — try tripling dosage.
Emote conversation is the way to go. Saw one around Halloween who exchanged a couple emotes with me after I was done jumping like an idiot (but I do that to everyone), so even if they don’t actually talk, a couple waves/bows/cheers will get the idea across.

- This game stopped being fun for me when everything “unique” became based on RNG.

If your argument has “stop crying” anywhere in it, yes, I’m going to ignore it. If you can’t make your point in a civilized manner, why should I bother reading it.
From my experience with Silkroad Online, which was essentially an endless grind, this game is starting to feel like that too. As more content is added, more RNG is added, and it begins to feel like you’re just doing the same things over and over, hence, grinding.
For those that have never played the previously mentioned game, and don’t, it really is awful, it pretty much worked like this: The experience rate was awful, something close to maybe .05% per mob, and got worse if you were focusing on getting skill points, new caps were added almost religiously, I think the game is currently sitting on 110 or 120 cap, with content planned for up to 140 currently, but could go even higher. If by some miracle you managed to reach that absurd point, the gear grind began, having to essentially do the same thing you were doing to level for a tiny hope of a good item and to make money for things to make that item better. Obviously this game isn’t that bad, and hopefully never will be, but with the bad rates on the RNG, I almost feel like I’m playing Silkroad again sometimes.
Your idea doesn’t sound bad, but I do agree, something like that would need to be account bound, or it could quite likely sink the economy into a really bad position.
